  • @Cri_Jackal
    @Cri_Jackal Год назад +304

    Almost every shot in this OP pays homage to a previous opening.
    The scene with the cast being protrayed in colored silhouettes references Part 2's opening, and Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town to a degree too.
    The shots of the characters looking up at the starry sky is a VERY ON THE NOSE reference to Stand Proud.
    Pucci posing with Dio's children parallels the Pillar Men's group poses in Bloody Stream as well.
    The action shot of all the characters attacking combines the choreography of Stand Proud and Fighting Gold, with Emporio firing his Ghost Gun lining up similarly to Mista firing his revolver.
    When Jolyne and Pucci stand off at the end, they strike poses at each other with a similar rhythm to Joseph and Caeser posing when facing the Pillar Men in a shot from Bloody Stream.
    Edit: also, it just occurred to me that you somehow missed that the shot of the clock flipping upside down is referencing the C-Moon fight and its ability to flip around the direction of gravity.
    But that shot is ALSO a reference to Traitor's Requiem, which has a similar scene of a shot flipping upside down.

    I think "Heavens Falling Down" is hands down the most pleasing OP. It gives JoJo fans everything they wanted from parts 1 to 6. It not only references every part prior but gives us that classic manga panel flip from Jonathan all they way to Jolyne now taking his place as the final descendant. It encapsulates everything about Stone Ocean, to its themes and characters. I really love it a lot. Especially that final sequence with the pendant traveling to the Irene universe. They really knocked it out of the park. 💚🦋

    One detail I haven't seen anyone mention is that in the 2nd version of Heaven's Falling Down, all the credits have the same glitchy, purple-silver aura that Pucci has when he's using Made in Heaven to move around at high speeds. Also, in both versions, the way that the credits appear and disappear looks like string being stitched and unravelled, like when Jolyne uses Stone Free's string.

    Given the ultimate goal of Made in Heaven was to cycle through the entire universe and back to the start, allowing people to live their lives with an innate knowing of the path they'd take, I find it really REALLY cool that they went back to the Joestar mansion in the final opening. It works not only as an homage to the series but as a way of showing what MiH does; causes a new universe where things will happen again, although differently (in particular for those who died to Made in Heaven)

  • @ROMANTIKILLER2
    @ROMANTIKILLER2 Год назад +3

    Just another note: the final scene with Jolyne facing off against Pucci does not (only) mirror the ending of Stand Proud opening, but even more so the final scene with Jonathan facing off against Dio, also with the subsequent zooming out in a spiral to then have Jolyine's pendant (symbol of the Joestar) instead of the stone mask (which I see as a symbol of Dio's curse, albeit being crafted by Kars). If one thinks about it, it is more significant for the final showdown of this Jojoverse to exactly go back where everything started, and you also noticed the constant callbacks of Heaven's Falling Down imagery to Sono Chi no Sadame.

  • @justahuman5333
    @justahuman5333 Год назад +2

    If you look closely at the imagery of all the joestars, you can see that on Johnathan's is the sun, which kinda represents hamon but also that his is the first one to fight/have the curse to fight evil. He's basically the dawn whereas jolyne is the dusk/ setting of the joestar bloodline in this universe

  • @vikscast
    @vikscast Год назад +10

    When everything speeds up then the logo appears kind of symbolises the old universe being left behind, but showing the clash between Jolyne and Pucci also symbolises the Joestars battle with Dio is also left behind for good. Jolyne is reborn as Irene, but she's forever eternal.

    I love these type of videos and honestly can never get tired of them! I actually noticed some things too and would like to hear other people's thoughts?
    At 1:28, with both the color scheme and it falling into her hand, I strongly feel like that was a subtle homage to Bloody Stream when the hands are trying to get the stone.
    Also when Jolyne is sitting with the universe behind her at 1:36, It feels like Joseph's "CESAAAR" part in Bloody Stream as well.
    As well as when Weather Report is turning, at 2:25, he's in the same pose as "Heavy Weather" before standing up which shows his true awakening
    I also think the whole character fighting sequence at 2:40 could reference Fighting Gold; it had similar patterns and relations in my opinion.
    Lastly, this could be a reach, but the color schemes of the Security Camera with Colorful Silhouettes of the characters in the 1:53 area remind me of CNBT and Chase. Could just be a coincidence though.
    All of these could be reaches but idk they reminded me of the other openings haha.

Why that's important is because FF shares a role in the story with the main cast even if it's for a little while. 4:42 I think what's truly beautiful about this scene is the symbolism of this generation long fight between Dio and the Joestars. Every one of them struggled to clean up Dio's mess (Only exception being the Pillar men, but Staizo before that was one of Dio's mess, that Joseph had to deal with) , and now it is Jolyne's turn to face the last remnant of Dio, Father Pucci. It's Jolyne's turn, and her responsibility to end this.

    Just want to add that when all of the JoJos appear, Hamon sound effects, "Dorararara", Giorno's life giving sound effect, and Jolyne's string moving can be heard. Jotaro probably gets a sound effect as well.

    Kinda realized that Stone Ocean it's a reference to the myth of Orpheus through this opening song. Found it due that majority of translations, they use god of madness or god of insanity in the first chorus, which fits a Greek god called Dionysus and so take that both loses loved to a snake, pass through hell to get them back, fail and dies to a follower of someone with Dio in it's name.

    The falling amulet also reminds me of the Stone Mask sinking into the ocean at the end of Sono Chi no Sadame.

    The way the title appears in front of a starry background also is the same as the end of “end of the world” and it’s also a reference to the end of the universe caused by made in heaven

    in the end where jolyne punches pucci is also a similar to part 1's op when jonathan punches dio

    I also liked how in the opening they used the Manga colour pallates for Jolyne and Pucci!

    Was a little worried not seeing a different version of the OP after Made in Heaven was introduced, but then I started noticing the different details, and then. Wow. The whole final episode made me feel HYPE in a way that I never have before. I don't think I'll ever see a better season finale, and that is fine by me

    I'd like to mention how the last seconds of Joylne and Pucci going for the final punch then falling down the mansion spiral then proceeding with an amulet falling from the universe is strikingly similar to how Dio and Johnathon would also fall down a spiral which was followed by the stone mask falling into the ocean.

    Jolyne punching (or at least trying to) pucci at the end of the second version of the opening is also a reference to the final clash between jonathan and dio in the very first opening of the show, and jolyne flying upward from the prison could also be a reference to C-moon's ability to manipulate gravity.

    5:09 Jolyne has the same pose as Jotaro did in the famous "you're approaching me" panel from the manga (arguable the most recognizable jojo manga panel ever).
