Just what I need to watch to inspire me to make a short film using a smaller VP set. Amazing to see how VP was utilised. Just goes to show you that it does just matter on the size of the screen but how u can blend physical set pieces and virtual ones with the proper lighting!
That is seriously one of the best things we've read all day. To inspire and educate is one of our main goals, so we're excited to see what you come up with! Make sure to send it our way 😄 And we completely agree - the trick to making VP work is blending the set pieces with the environment using lighting. We spent literal HOURS during techvis and previs trying to get the lighting right, so we're really happy with how we pulled it off!
I'm always excited to see how teams are figuring out how to make VP viable on smaller and smaller scales, I still think the secret source is in matching motivated lighting for the live action elements (of course it is, it's the hardest part) but dang, you guys did really such a good job here. Can't wait to see more of your upcoming work, I know it'll just keep getting better, awesome job.
Thank you so much! We spent so much time during techvis & previs getting the lighting right, so we really appreciate it 🙏 Working with a relatively small LED wall (20 feet x 10 feet) definitely had its challenges, but it's all about finding creative solutions to make it work.
@@copilotco 100%! Just following the simple physics of light and lens compression, the smaller your shooting space and wall then the harder it is to keep spill from set lights to the wall, match foreground lighting to wall elements and the smaller the wall then the more required setups and limitations of shot choices. That's why having seen your wall and set size I'd kinda set an expectation of the results in my head, but damn you guys flew past them. Can't wait to see your BTS of the shoot!
Great work, you really matched the sets with the LED volume well. I wonder how long did it take you to prepare the physical sets and props? It’s something that I find a bit hard especially for sci fi projects. When shooting my last virtual production short film we literally used garbage that we got from a local restaurant as set decorations 😅 Anyway great job 👍
Boooring why it is always the same story. Booooo! You have such an interesting alien Lovecraftian universe made for you, and you guys always do the same boring story over and over. It is not scary it is boring. Also we glad that she died she was cursing in such a cringe manner.
