Wow, I used to have to do this in cinema 4D . This is much more efficient for the appropriate applications. Apparently, you don't always need to use C4D. Beautiful.
This is really informative thank you! for future tutorials maybe consider recording the voice over separate to avoid mouse or keyboard sounds, or mess with your recording settings to filter out background sounds like that.
Thanks for the feedback. I added some new 3D creation videos keeping this in mind! 3D Blister Pack: ruclips.net/video/5C2R7ls5d5E/видео.html Vanilla Vial: ruclips.net/video/Gwd5aWYXNeA/видео.html 3D Dropper Bottle: ruclips.net/video/xPltLM_vfQQ/видео.html Nutritional Supplements: ruclips.net/video/--7sesT-IKU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/59tjPVbdjsI/видео.html
And maybe something to go on (it's been almost a year at this point so who knows lol), but like they said, separate voice tracks from the video with like a script. Making it all live makes you seem like you're not fully into what you're making. But for sure a helpful video for this topic!

so now that illustrator has 3d features now in 2023 would you recommend doing it all in illustrator up until the dimension part? not using photoshop i should say
Yes,I believe you're right. I haven't spent much time with Illustrator 3d yet. My 3d focus time is limited these days but more emphasis on learning Blender. Thanks for commenting!
Sorry for such a late reply. The file shown at 15:05 was one I render of this scene on my other computer which is faster. I'm going to do a separate render video and post the specs of my PC to help those wondering what kind of computer I was using to render faster than my MacBook Pro 2016.
Hi Ashley. This tutorial was a great help. However, isn't it possible to directly export a 3d illustrator file to Dimension, now that Illustrator works with 3D pretty fine?
@@ashleycam3ron Same problem here. Adobe CC2020. Everything in RGB. After I had try on other computer, it works. But the glass is very rough, not smooth as yours. And when I export the 3D glass as .obj, the Dimensions says "Unable to import model. Dimensions supports polygon based geometry only. The file does not contain any supported content."
Reply to myself: uninstall Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Dimension. Reinstall and everything works perfect. I will try tomorrow to do the same thing on the other computer.
@@clau2002 Thanks for the update! Glad you got it figured out. Wonder why you would have had to reinstall. Hope that doesn't happen again in the future :/ Best wishes!
Is there a reason you'd use three different programs to do this when you could just use Blender, Maya, Max, Sketchup, or any number of other specialist packages?
Originally think dimension is kind of cool to try, but then i looked at this video, the absurd workflow, and tremendously slow render... yea, let's just back with blender
It’s a good tutorial for people like me who already know PS and AI (dimension is simple enough to learn in a few hours) and for whom blender is way too overwhelming. It’s a long workaround for people who know 3D programs, but a quick workaround for anyone who already knows the design programs.
Sorry for the late reply. I'm going to try to do a separate render video and post the specs of my desktop PC computer along with it. I'll keep you posted!

You're awesome Ashley
Hello I stumbled upon this video which is very informative. The explanations are clear. Thank you
in 15:05 what was this saved file u used? just I pic of wine that can look more realistic material?

I keep getting a seam that shows up on my 3D model when I place the glass on it is there anyway to remove this?
Can you rotate the object around so you don't see the seam on the angle you'd like to render as an image?
Here's a video to help troubleshoot this issue: ruclips.net/video/u8-SLAh8_oU/видео.html
Hello, it is because the object which you are using doesn't have proper UV's. You can fix it later on Post production in photoshop though.
Thanks a lot!
Many thanks and good luck
WOW!! SO cool and awesome!
Hi Ashley. This tutorial was a great help. However, isn't it possible to directly export a 3d illustrator file to Dimension, now that Illustrator works with 3D pretty fine?
As far as I know, there's not a way to export an .obj or compatible file type for Dimension
@@ashleycam3ron thanks Ashley.
Thank you for teaching!!!
How do you get the screen in the upper left hand corner?
In photoshop... it’s so helpful to see if you have holes
Hello! In your top menu, go to View > Show > Secondary Window
Great Explanation, thank you.
I really need help creating a sphere that is cut at a slant, so basically its not symmetrical, how would that work?
use blender instead
thank you!! I really loved your tutorial!
photoshop doesnt let me make the 3d extrusion layer... it looks like... its blocked)?? idk what to do :( can someone help me?
Make sure you're in RGB color mode
