  • This video is for designers who are unfamiliar with 3D software and looking for a tool to create 3D dropper bottles and mock up scenes. Adobe Dimension is a simpler interface to use and consistent with its series of Illustrator and Photoshop programs versus having to learn a new 3D interface and shortcuts.
    Here are the working files and mockup available with a donation (Thank you!)

    New video: Learn how to create a 3D glass vanilla vial from start to finish in this easy-to-follow video. We will construct the vector shapes in Adobe Illustrator, make them 3D in Adobe Photoshop, and finish adding color and textures in Adobe Dimension. ruclips.net/video/Gwd5aWYXNeA/видео.html

    Awesome tutorial that I kept coming back to over the years. So unfortunate that Photoshop does not allow you to create 3D anymore!

      It seems Adobe has bolstered its Adobe Illustrator with the recent addiction of 3D and Material tool, and have kept the old one under 3D Classic.
      The only draw back is you can’t create any shape utilizing the mesh tool or gradient tool in illustrator, in order to make a .obj file to import in Adobe Dimension, so I’m learning Blender. Adobe wants to introduce us to a 5 series of new 3D apps “Substance” a monthly subscription; doesn’t fall under the Creative Cloud.

      @@007Yasir yes I am having trouble with creating organic shapes as well. I didn’t want to pay another subscription. How are you finding using Blender?

      Hello! Thank you. Unfortunately I'm not sure how to make that shape within Photoshop 3D. I do have a 3D bottle I need to finish up and add to my Creative Design Market. I can try to do that soon. It would be available by "name your price". I'll post a link if I can remember to get that accomplished

    Hello Ashley, your videos are super helpful and understandable!! Thank you for this effort!
    Is there any way to make this fluted lid like a fluted square, but with diagonally nodded sides - like a sealed lotion or toothpaste tube at the end?

    • @ashleycam3ron
      @ashleycam3ron  4 года назад

      Thank you! I haven't tried to make a sealed end yet. I'm not sure if that's possible in Photoshop 😬
      Also, there are updates in Dimension I haven't had a chance to play with yet using the parametric shapes. May not be relevant to your question but a mental note to check into.

    Why can we still see the original shape layer in the bottles? It appears in each of the bottles you created, but is especially apparent in the clear glass one. It looks as though the shape layer used in the revolve in PS is still there? How do we get rid of that?

    Hi thank you so much for your video. It helped me create particular flasks and bottles for my products.
    I do have a question. I've seen and downloaded many Photoshop Mockup files (where you can just change the colors and put the labels and stickers) and I've searched around on how to create such templates but I can't seem to find anything on that.
    Your video seems closest to this than any other i've seen. Do you have any idea where I can find the answer to this task?
    Is there a procedure to prepare all this in dimension and after export it to be a mockup template for photoshop?

    • @ashleycam3ron
      @ashleycam3ron  4 года назад +2

      Thank you! Glad this helped. Your question sounds like more of a 2D layered Photoshop file that uses smart objects that you can replace with your design. This might be something I can make a video of in the future.

    Hi Ashley Cameron Thank You for this Tutorial, I Have a question that I am not having adobe Illustrator can this work in Adobe XD in the same way ??

    • @ashleycam3ron
      @ashleycam3ron  4 года назад +1

      Since you will for sure need Photoshop for the 3D creation, you can draw the parts directly in Photoshop. I'm just most comfortable in Illustrator. You can try XD and see if it works. I'd be curious to know what you find out.

    I see you have the same problem I have been having, namely, that I cannot get rid of the profile of the original Illustrator shape (the one originally extruded). I have tried everything. Have you ever found a solution to that ghost?

      Hello, Nick! Are you referring to the bottle seam? Yes, there seems to always be a seam. I'm wondering if objects created from 3D programs also have this, but yet, in some way it seems normal to have a seam if your label exceeds the perimeter/diameter of the surface area.

    Hi there, I wondered if you could do a tutorial please in Dimenion. I'm a fashion student so trying to find creative ways to bring my garments to life. for example, I've sketched a Tee in illustrator, took it to photoshop to extrude (like you show in your videos) but i cant workout how to make it look like it cloth. I know there's a tee in Dimension but i'd like to make my own clothes to use in Dimension. So i was wondering if this is possible ? Or do i need to use Blender which I find really complicated.

      Hello! Unfortunately, it's difficult to make asymmetrical objects in Photoshop. I'd like to learn Blender when I get a chance. In the meantime, here's a video of someone making a 3D tshirt in Blender: ruclips.net/video/GcM9nZrG6NY/видео.html

      There are presets available in the Properties Shape Presets panel and once you have fine tuned your own extrusions, you can save it as a preset. I'm not seeing much looking online of presets people have made that can be loaded by other people.
