Thanks so much! More horsepower definitely helps yea, and it will render quicker, but isn't totally essential. The biggest advantage is getting a faster real-time preview when working on the 3D design itself.
Thanks Brendan! Ooooh if I had to guess, I’d say 3-4 hours in Dimension, and then a couple hours playing around with the final poster design in Photoshop 👍🙂
I'm so glad I'm not the only one dealing with crashing large object. One thing I found that helped me was exporting my file as a .gltf and make a whole new dimension file and place that .gltf file in. It reduces the size of the file into something manageable. Yes it's tedious and stupid but it's the only way I found it to work without that error message "the file isn't working properly." I had to redo my project 5 times to figure that out.
Hello, I've been following your work. I have a question: How can we edit an object that has been added later? For example, I load an object file and I want to remove a part from that object. I'm having trouble doing it. Can you help?" thank you : )
Hey Sahit, unfortunately you won’t be able to remove parts of 3D shapes using Dimension. I think Adobe’s paid 3D tools might support that feature, or you can use free 3D software like Blender to import and edit objects. I use Blender for 3D stuff and it’s great! 👍
Thanks Danksy for a very good tutorial. I'll be using Dimension for sure. Do you know if there is a dynamic link between Dimension and After Effects, as with C4D?
Do you know of any way to cut out a section of an object? Like to create a hole or something? I'm modeling a desk I'm planning on building and want to cut a circle out for cable access. I can do it in other programs easily, yet I cant find anything like it in dimensions.
I don't think so in Dimension sadly. I was hoping for this feature, but they appeared to pivot to creating a full suite of 3D apps (eg. Adobe Substance 3D Stager), which I think does include some more advanced functionality.
@@ForeverDansky Thats kind of ridiculous. I do some basic 3D modeling for fun and work, and not having this function makes it much more difficult to model. Charging more for the other 3D programs when I pay a premium for the creative suite already is not going to happen for most. I'd rather learn blender or use Shapr3D on the iPad for my hobby work. Thanks for replying and I enjoy your videos!
I feel that Dimension is positioned similar to an Add-on for Photoshop/Illustrator, used to quickly preview the display effect of a graphic design on a 3D object. Dimension can even do interior design and is very easy to use. For some special model components, you can generate them in Illustrator, then export the OBJ file, and then import it into Dimension. I like Dimension. But I have now switched to Blender. The inability to output 3D video is the real flaw of Dimension.
is Adobe Dimension being discontinued so we can use Substance 3D? My new Mac Studio is giving a warning on top right saying I’m not logged in to Creative cloud, even though I am. I suspect because I have an M1 chip, and ADimension is an intel ?
I think so possibly yes. Although, I thought they added M1 support for Dimension. It's a great way to get started with 3D though, and for me after using Dimension for a bit I jumped to learning Blender which is super powerful (and free). I've got a beginner course for Blender here on the channel if you're interested 🙂

EXTERMINATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
that render and composition is superb, making Dalek look menacing!
Aha thanks so much Dimas! 👊
I've used adobe creative suite for most of my adult life, and I am just now learning about Dimension. WOW! I'm hooked now.
Awesome!
does Dimension have any snapping to points and objects like smart guides in illustrator or its just editing by eye and position value tweaking?
wow this is great sir and this is inspiring. thanks dansky.
nice one! A lot of objects. Probably quite strong laptop is needed to render the final result?
Thanks so much! More horsepower definitely helps yea, and it will render quicker, but isn't totally essential. The biggest advantage is getting a faster real-time preview when working on the 3D design itself.
You are a lifesaver!
What an awesome creative design we just see here. you make me so excited to learn Adboe dimension
thank you so much, my great teacher
Thanks so much 😊
Thanks, mr.Dansky!
You're welcome Brandon!
Wow!
This looks so cool.
I am planning to build a hanging wine rack. This tutorial will be super helpful!!!
Thanks so much! Glad it was helpful!
Very Nice, Dan mate. How many hrs do you think it took, total, with all the playing etc?
Thanks Brendan! Ooooh if I had to guess, I’d say 3-4 hours in Dimension, and then a couple hours playing around with the final poster design in Photoshop 👍🙂
well done loved it, how did you create the video at the beginning?
Aha that was psd renders imported and animated in After Effects 🙂
@@ForeverDansky yea, that's another aspect you should touch too, "After-effect" or recommend a book pls.
That is Amazeballs!!!

Thanks great video/tutorial and thanks for making the project file available for download!! LOVE IT!
You're welcome!
Mind Blowing!!!

Thanks Cathy, you're welcome! I don't think so for Dimension and After Effects to my knowledge.
hey dan have you tried the substance 3d modeler beta?
Not yet. But if it gets added to the Creative Cloud subscription, will definitely give it a go!
Amazing tutorial! How did you get your arrows with that setting?? Makes duplicating and aligning look so much easier.
Great tutorial. Thanks Dan.
You’re welcome ☺️
Can Adobe dimension be used to create logo stinger animations as well, or is there a better program for this purpose?
Adobe Dimension doesn't feature animation, keyframing etc. Personally, I would use Blender for anything that requires 3D animation.
@@ForeverDansky okay.
Очень круто! Ты -- лучший!
