Custom 3D Objects for Adobe Dimension
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 2 окт 2024
- In this Adobe tutorial, I'll show you how to make a custom 3D object (.obj file) that you can import into Adobe Dimension for use as a 3D product mockup, using both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Of course, if you already have a 3D program like Cinema 4D or Blender, then those will probably be better for building these models. For simple applications, however, this is a great way to make something quick and easy that looks pretty solid as a mockup.

Thank you!! :)
Helped me render the output I needed.
Great video. FYI Adobe Dimension 4.0 is out a week ago, with over 500 materials and other improvements. Hope you make a video with that version. Thank you 👌
CARY: It's not the best program in the world..
ADOBE: You hurt my feelings
I just wanna learn even more now- it looks so cool o.O
do not working anymore in Photoshop in 2023... team's photoshop had delete this function...

Thanks for posting this Cary! For the incorporation of the back lable why don't you import the graphics as separate PNGs. the blue Background as a PNG, the logo and graphics as a separate PNG, and the Back nutritional info as its own PNG. That you you can just Layer them and get everything you need.
Sure, why not? The only reason would be time. It's easier to get all elements at once, especially for this tutorial. I have layered stuff before when I've needed some matte and some glossy elements. I usually don't mess with the back label because it's not sexy anyway.
Even though it was a lot, its exactly what i was looking for with such great brief explanations. Thanks bruv
I think it's great for the rendering and materials, saves a whole load of time but I would still stick to my 3d software to create my models as the process is quicker, easier and just overall better for creating realistic models.
Yes. Dimension is not for building.
Thanks for explain smoothy 3d model creating. ❤️
Thanks for simplifying complex topics and making them easy to understand. 😇
Great video, I’m running on Mac Studio, thanks
Great video thank you I actually could simply do it
I envy this kind of skills...whatever I do watch videos I can't catch up...ahaha
I have no problem using soft soft, I just dont understand the tools and such, ofc it takes a long "#"¤ ti to make sotNice tutorialng because of
🤯
just stumbled across your video and It was really helpful. Hope to see more. Thank you!
Can't seem to use the 3D extrusion. It's grayed out. Any idea why?
crazily amazing, the combination of Ai, Photoshop and Adobe Dimension is sweet.
Would love to see more tutorial to build on
Whenever i use the GMS and put it in the soft, it holds out the note forever! please help, i am very confused
It's not really that confusing it just looks like that, because of all the many buttons.
complete. So I put a few videos up to show what i've got so far, and i'm hoping that soone will take the ti to watch them, let
Hi, i think you should select the option simplify meshes in photoshop and then to export it to Dimension. This way you can add the label both sides without Dimension mirroring it.
I've had others suggest similar ideas. I'll have to try it.
@@CaryHawkins Did you try this out.... do you have any comments in matching the length of the actual label design and the size of the bootle that is used as 3D... or should that just fit since the shape is orginally desgned from a picture of the actual water bottle... and that way if you messured a "real life" paper version you know the size of the indesign label... so after that both ends should almost come togeather when wrapping around the 3D model ?
@@andersrydingdaugaard I have not had a chance to mess with the texture setting yet. When I did my example in the video, I just eyeballed it. I didn't measure anything.
When I use GMS it's just a loud distortion soft what's up with that?
i dont now why i missed this awesome tutorial
Do the basics first, if it would be easy, everyone would do it
dude just gave you the whole shortcuts set in one tutorial, great tuto man thanks.
Looks like you forget the background match option when you import background image.. please try that next time. It will fix the angle issues
Will do!
Check out my latest video on Monday! I go over matching your 3D object with the background image.
Boom! ruclips.net/video/DE-AnFsBgEs/видео.html
If you click generate UV's, and delete your label then reimport it, the duplicate will disappear.
Awesome tip!
hard. The soft soft interface is quite friendly
I think there will be a lot of images out there with that background lol. Looking forward to trying it when I get my new mac! I think I will keep just a single colour background - it still looks really good
I've used it on a few myself.
Thank you Cary, very helpfull tut and presented in a more then pleasant way! I'm looking forward to the next one!
Thanks!
Amazing.... It appears easy, but I believe it requires years of practice to become as skilled as you are. Could you kindly recommend a video tutorial that demonstrates the proper technique for "pouring water or any other liquid into a bottle or jar", for assistance?
I can't. I don't do a ton of 3D myself. It's just not as useful for my clients with a few exceptions. Let me know if you find a good one.
Thanks You Cary this is very good software and your teaching is very good Sir Thanks!
Thanks!
Make more videos dude . Youre good :P
Thanks for the encouragement! Life is full right now with two small kids, side businesses and working on moving to a new home. I have some ideas if I get the free time to put them together.
i agree
having tNice tutorials tutorial playing when first using soft soft was a godsend. Thank you!!
Thank you for making a video explaining all the essentials of tNice tutorials software. You really helped understand the software more, thank you
Will stay tuned to your channal! Cheers!
Krazy , get out of here. That was funny, really funny
Hi Cary! this is really helpful but can you help me with making a ractangular 3D Water bottle object in photoshop? The top lid is round but the body is rectangular so I'm stuck :/
Well, you'll have to use something other than revolve. Illustrator has an extrude feature that would work. Dimension is another option, probably the best. PS probably has something like that too, but I honestly rarely use it because Dimension is so much better.
saying "Boom" makes project easy
Or you are too narrow-minded to understand what he says.
Hey! Thanks so much for this Tut. I'm just beginning to making my own 3D objects. And have a little exposure to Illustrator and Photoshop. I'm reading that Adobe is pulling the 3D capability out of Photoshop, so I'm getting the dreaded "going-out-of-business" pop-up. Anyways, just wondering is you've found a work-around. Thanks again!
I extruded a 3d obj file from a photoshop file the other day. No telling how long that will be possible. I pulled it into Dimension to finish it out. It was buggy though. You might try Blender, a free 3D program.
@@CaryHawkins - OK! Do you have a Tut up showing how it's done in Blender? I'll pay for it ...
I sure don't. Good idea though.
Thanks Mr Hawkins for the "Bo'Oh'O'wa'Aer" tutorial
fire video, thanks bro
sometimes the program doesnt let me orbit aswell. Its not perfect as you say. Still nice to make 3D accesible to more people.
Good for simple and quick mockups. Not much else.
How you start setuping can you do a video on that
Guys what computer should i use?
Glad to find a Dimension tutorial that doesn't suck. Thanks, man!
Glad you liked it!
tNice tutorials video was dog sNice tutorialt
Wao, amazing tutorial.
How did you change it from grey to white in Photoshop before exporting?
tually believing tNice tutorials.
ive been making complete verses on a single soft, it seems everyone of these tutorials i find like to put a single instrunt on each
Thanks for your video
Fantastic tutorial, keep up the great videos!
sir, i have a helmet and i want to wrap a illustrator design on it. how can i do ?
That is a challenge. Curved surfaces are harder to wrap. Maybe get with an experienced vehicle wrap company and ask them how to set that up.
tutorial videos. Thanks
Hello, I too have installed adobe dimension but I don't have basic shapes, so can you help me get them?
I did nothing to get them. They came with the software. Try a reinstall?
so it is true then best couch is not best player
you did just well job.
Cary this is the best tutorial that I've found here! Congrats!
I get to do it the way you explained and it's amazing! Could you help me with a difficulty? How could I do when the bottle is not symmetrical? I've try to do the steps but, in front view, the top of the bottle that I'm trying to do, is completely different :(
Asymetrical 3D is not really something Illustrator can handle, I don't think. You might try Blender, it's free 3D software that should allow you to do what you want. I don't have any blender tutorials though.
@@CaryHawkins thanks! ♡
Why are my subtitles in Turkish
great thanks for that! Very clear and articulate!
this was excellently done...just what i needed!!!!
or is it for soft pro or sotNice tutorialng

Very interesting way to create and resolve this problem I have to make my own bottles! thanks Cary!
Glad you found it useful!
Thank you so much Mr. Cary. Very useful. Pls do more videos about Dimension and Custom 3d Mockups design.
You're welcome! Thanks for the input.
@@CaryHawkins I tried, Once I select the 3d extrusion but I can't select the 3d model and Shape preset doesn't work. Pls help to solve this problem.
Maybe watch again. I'm not sure what you missed.

Such praise! Thanks so much for the feedback!
Great job ❤️ Big thanks!
im the 7000th fuckin comnt
Guys what computer should i use?
why does my image turn super bright after rendering?
It's probably your lighting settings. Try messing with those and see if you get a different result.
Don’t be afraid, just embrace it.
Very welcoming. Thank you.
followed the tutorial exactly right, but still different. Using trial version. Thank you*
There have been some changes since this was made. You might try classic 3D options.
i watched whole video, its easy,,but tell me that,,,after doing all the steps shown in the video how we make it mockup for changing logos in photoshop??
Sorry, I don't fully understand the question. Can you rephrase it?
I hope it didn't explode

If it is intriguing to you, you won't be forgetting it easily
