TheGameconomist it's kinda obvious but STACK FLASHBUGS AT THE FARM! With 3 pods and 10 bugs in your inventory you can have 13 on hand. These go quickly, after a few elder hunts I've gone from 99 in my chest down to 30 in no time. So with increased growth rate and all three farm slots filled you can get 18 bugs after each hunt which will mitigate the huge amount you'll use in each hunt.
Also "git gud" isn't advice it's a signal that someone doesn't know how to fight well enough to pass on tips to other players. Avoid people who say this at all cost, they're trash.

TheGameconomist I like to max out my health by using ingot vambrace s and a vitality jewel, that way no matter hits me I'll have enough health. Also I'm still grinding for decorations and until I get better ones gobbled is very nice. With 2 you can take a potion super fast, so if got hit you can heal really fast. And try to be mindful of others, don't all just go after the head and end up tripping each other or spam rock shower with the bow. The way I play is I'm here to help bring down the monster by doing damage but not getting in the way, not dying and bring things like flash pods and mega bombs to help do damage.

Pro Tip: Use the Dragon Pods they drop on the ground. They do a tiny bit of normal and dragon damage yes, BUT they also do a good deal of Elderseal.
Just hit the elder dragon with the pods (preferably in the head, since most of their auras will block the pods completely) and after 5-6 pods it will seal their aura temporarily. Since every drop has 7 pods, this shouldn't be too hard as long as you're careful about your shots.
Elderseal and the dragon pods are especially strong against Teostra since sealing his aura completely stops him from doing his Nova.

Against nergigante, I actually find flashing him mid-dive to not work out very well. Yes, it stops the dive in that moment, but it leaves his spikes fully grown. Nergigante only uses its dive bomb when it's spikes (I think it's just the forearms and head, but I could be wrong) are fully grown. So sure, you stop the attack once, but it can still do the attack shortly after and its spikes remain at full, meaning you have a harder time dealing damage and have to continue worrying about it dive-bombing again soon. It may be that I usually run defensive mantles (temporal and vitality usually), but i find its dive easy enough to dodge with a superman dive (most of the time) that, at least in my opinion, it's better to let nergigante reset its spikes so you can keep damaging it rather than just interrupting it and letting it keep its spikes

if you put craft flash pods on the radial menu; *STACK FLASH BUG IN THE FARM* .
13 flash pods go quick, with all boosts to harvest and growth after a few quests you'll have 99 bugs. but 13 flash pods go quicker than you'd think, and your stock will drain much faster when you're bringing a enough flashes to throw a rave in any fight.

cee kay ive never experienced being out of stock of flashpods. I mostly just do tempered elders and always carry total of 13 flash pods. Though i rarely finish 13 pods in a quest unless i used them in a bad way. Just another tip. Never throw a flash pod in a wall. Always throw them downward in the ground it will flash faster and it will make sure that it wont go inside a wall/rock or any environmental blocks which wont affect monsters. Flash it down unless its vaal hazak which in some cases you need to throw your flash upwards. And if kushala is not limping yet and starts flying to go to another area dont bother flashing it as it looks upward when flying so it wont be affected by flash.

Teostra has a really annoying dash that knocks you down and he has a chance of doing the supernova attack as a direct follow up and it stops you from getting away making him harder then kushala because kushala doesn't really have an annoying Insta kill combo.

    • @xandt-doggaming3313
      @xandt-doggaming3313 6 лет назад +29

      Kirin
      Teostra
Nergigante (because he like teostra has a Insta death combo that stun resistance doesn't help with because knock back and stun are two different things)
      Kushala
Vaal hazak (because his area gives you two nullberry plants and a flash bug to farm and grab in the area. Ranged weapons make it impossible to get hit. Then you can get his leggings easily after about one fight and it's all you need for his health effect)

      Isaiah Evans
Tempered Kirin is not that difficult. Use a fire weapon and you can make very quick work of him. He doesn't have nearly as much health as the other elders.
Not sure what weapon you main but I was able to easily defeat him with the SlashAxe(Anja Axe), Bow(Anja Bow), and Gunlance(Zorah).
With the Gunlance, you can really use either one you are comfortable with. Just choose the shelling type you know how go be effective with. Shelling bypasses all defense and does flat damage.
With the SlashAxe, it's pretty simple. Get Anja Axe, get crit draw skill with decoration or armor piece, Hit him by drawing into the sword mode. Try not to get greedy, put your weapon away and wait to do another draw attack. Aim for the horn every time. You should be doing over 100 every hit. Also, as a bonus, the Sword Mode of the SwitchAxe doesn't bounce off ever. Even when Kirin is enraged.
When he drops(he will 2-3 times) unload on him.
With the bow, it's just a game of keep away. Get the Anja bow, aim for the horn. When you drop him, spam power shots and rocks.
With any of these weapons, you will be able to kill him in about 8 minutes.
Just bring thunder mantel. And eat a meal for large elemental defense. It would be nice to have armor that has decent thunder resistance as well.

Great video as much as I'm playing you think ill know all the stuff you mentioned. I took a part breaker build against the nerg and man it destroyed him. That's pretty impressive. Also quick add on to your guide. Yes flash bombs are important......even more important when you know WHEN to use it instead of spamming it but Dragon Pods. Dragon Pods have dragon seal attached too it. Works really good. If the nerg growing spikes on you fire them at a selected spot spikes fall off nerg also flinches for your fellow hunters, same with daora he looses that wind resistance, teostra looses his fire aura also be careful and pay attention to his aura. If his aura is the blast type I believe you get those lil ball can add the blast blight too you. Now for Vaal, the dragon pod works wonders because it shuts down his miasma quicker which forces to stop and breath in more which opens up for BIG damage. Kirin dragon pod rarely drops because it's too good use it and he looses his super armor. Dragon Pods help big time.

  • @KyouOneZilla

You should emphasize the falling teeth in the Rotten Vale for the Vaal Hazak Fight, and the falling crystal pillars in the Elders Recess for the Nerg, Teostra, and Kushala fights. While the Elder dragons don't go to the place with the crystal pillars as often it's still nice to know when they do go in there. the Tooth room is right outside Vaal's nest and they take out a considerable amount of health.

A good tactic for kirin is glancing with the uragan armour set gemmed for thunder resist.
You get immunity to thunder blight, very good protection with the guard and during his enrage it's fairly easy to mount him and do damage to the head

    • @xanthiusdrake2775
      @xanthiusdrake2775 Год назад

Greatsword is one of the best weapons for Kirin because Kirin doesn't have much health, and since it hits really hard you can knock him down a lot, which is one of the things you will want to be doing since he moves around a lot. What I do is I run around dodging his lightning attacks, and when there is an opening, I smack him in the head with the greatsword once, put away my weapon and continue dodging his attacks, rinse and repeat, its a really effective way to fight him, it also makes quick sheath/punishing draw builds really effective as well.
There is the arguement to bring a much lighter, more combo based weapon, the problem is he moves around so much that your not gonna be able to get the full combo, this is especially bad for dual blades as those combos tend to have you in one spot as your doing them, which is the worst thing to be doing while fighting any form of Kirin.
If you are crazy enough to bring a combo weapon, you will want to bring the minds eye skill, since Kirin can go into a sort of armor mode, were you'll bounce off of pretty much every part of his body, excluding his head.

  • @Kabcr
    @Kabcr 6 лет назад

    This is really good advice!
Two things I would like to add:
    1) Flash podding an enraged elder dragon in the middle of their ultimate attack does not remove the ultimate attack; they can still use it shortly after they get stunned
    2) If you fail to flash pod the elder dragon while he's escaping, you can lure him off their arena while he's enraged, as they are able to chase you through zones
A good example of that last one is with Daora: you can jump off his nest on multiple areas and he'll follow you down straight away; at least if he's not aggro'd on your teammates. But you can coordinate with friends to make life easier.

the only problem is All Wind Pressure Negated only appears on the Rathian horn and the Vespoid horn, both of which are less effective against Kushala than blast or thunder. Poison will also negate Kushala's wind shield and don't flash him while he's in a tornado. The safest place to attack Teostra is from right next to his head and shoulder when he's standing still. Superman diving away from Nergigante's dive bomb or Teostra's super nova is the safest way to survive because there are many more "I" frames than a regular dodge (the same or more than fully upgraded evade).

Also everyone I know the "elite" players can be over excessive on how you should play but they're trying to warn you for future reference. Every successful MH game brought out G rank later on in the game and with G rank its proven that it's better to build around your play style and core weapon instead of trying to build against the monsters. G rank monsters do too much damage to out build. Every fight will feel like Kirin where you have to be on point dodge more and attack when you make hard reads......and that's the biggest reason why seasonal hunters rather build to their core instead of trying to counter an ability that can be dodged or worked around.

Jamal Edwards World really changed it honestly, especially with how few monsters there are. Right now I'm running a set based around stamina with Vaal Hazak bow and I can handle any monster in the game in 10 minutes or so, including elders (minus Xeno) with relative ease just sliding around and shooting all day.

Another thing, and this is aimed at your kushala gameplay, DO NOT CORNER HORN. If the monster is down, its the most optimal time for everyone, including hunting horns, to deal damage. The damn thing deals near the same amount of damage as a hammer. The best hunting horn for Kushala Daora is not gama horn, but the Xeno'Jiva hunthing horn, for it negates ALL wind pressure. Kushala uses varying levels of wind pressure and gama's wind pressure negation only negates 30% of Kushala's wind pressure. If you still want gama's songs, use the Metal Bagpipe or Deep Vero, which both have the same songs and better damage.

Anti-Kushala set: at least 3 pieces of kushala armor for "Kushala flight"(negates wind pressure), go for the pieces with handicraft( ups sharpness and therefore damage).
Rookslayer longsword( quickly inflicts blast blight, white sharpness with handicraft, long reach). You can add from there, I also like using earplugs, but that's optional.

Yes to the FlashPods!!!! You can also add a autocraft to the quicktab for the FlashPods. Anytime a Elder starts flying flash them to the ground. Free damage phase. With Kushala dont flash him straight up in his tornado let him move out a little or dive once. Hes easy. I use elderseal on him and his fight doesn't feel like a elder fight(Helps with Randoms that come in without anything to help so they can actually attack him past the wind shield). I did a Anti-Val build when he was the event quest. Used Jewels, I wonder if the Xeno armor would help?
If your going to SOS eat for Felyne insurance or moxie. I highly recommend trying sos if you're worried and after 2nd or third unsuccessful attempt try solo. You'll be very surprised with how easy solo is over SOS. I couldnt believe how quick Nerg went down the first time I soloed him. HR 49 Kirin was scary but it only took two trys. Just took the entire 50 mins and went slow. Im dual Blades so Kirin is pretty risky. I saw alot of youtube channels recommend building range to fight him and to put away your melee. To me that was a skill wall to show you if you're ready for HR49+. So I decided to use my dual blades. I have more tips on the others but I feel I wrote too much.

Some things to consider. Starting at High Rank stuff. If you have the Decoration, Mind's Eye can be activated in one Medium Decoration and makes you bounce proof. That knocks out Nergigante' s Armor and Teostra's. Kushala's windshield won't affect your projectiles. Bombs. Bombs. Bombs. Bombs. Always pack Bombs and be ready to Nuke 'Em if they make it back to the nest. It's I think 180 per Mega Bomb×2 Per Person. Big Boom and the whole end of the battle can be avoided.

the (in my opinion) best armor against hazak is the hazak armor. farm it with normal hazak and you are good to go. the Health regen exactly heals the amount of Damage its effluvia deals to you and the speeded up recovery (4 times as fast) nearly negates environmental Damage. that together and the Damage boost when your HP are full make a pretty strong armor set. also you have full effluvia protection

You can always try to hit kushala, and vals tail or teostra wings when the cloak is up as they're not protected. (If ranged)
Also that place where you're fighting teostra has 2 rocks you can drop on him.
With Val you can drop 2 teeth that are at the entrance to his lair in a place he likes to stop to rest. Also i play with a LBG against him and you can stop both high damage attacks with a flashpod. So as soon as you see it put it away and save your team. After that he usually tacles forward.
Kirin use stun resist, slash ammo, spread ammo to his face, vitality mantle for when hes enraged, thunderproof mantle for small places. (In tight places is when hes more dangerous so thats the place when you need room for mistakes)

1 - Superman dive Nergi's dive instead of rolling, it has a lot more invencibility frames. (run away from the mon with weapon sheathed and press dodge)
2 - Only flash Elders when they are airborne as they get flash immunity after 4 flash pods
3 - only flash Kushala AFTER he leaves the tornado.
4 - Try to get the feline skill Moxie as it prevents you from getting one shot once
5 - Learn the monsters move set and play solo, it's easier to read the monster this way and won't fail for someone else's mistakes. Besides, the monsters hp is scaled up for online, so the kill times with randoms are usually the same as a good solo run.
Bonus tip: a crit draw GS build with lvl 3 sheathing speed and some thunder resist makes Tempered Kirin a walk in the park. Hope this helps someone!

also for daora: PLEASE DONT FLASH HIM INSIDE the tornado because then some melee weapons like dual blades cant hit him wich is a wasted damage opportunity

One recommendation I have for people fighting kirin is to adopt hit and run tactics. If you hardly ever stick close to him and only commit for single attacks it makes him much easier. Greatsword users especially should look into making a crit draw set for him, it is so much easier than trying to get a true charge off on him.

When fighting Kirin Solo, Both the Palico Instrument and the Trouper Tailriders can give stun resistance and paralysis resistance. I prefer fighting Kirin alone because I don't have to worry about other people carting and I also don't have to worry about people tripping me to get to the head after I've knocked it down. . Also you can sometimes stop him from getting to the nest by using the slinger ammo if he drops some. There are some places in the Coral Highlands you can pick up Torch Ammo which is nice to have against Kirin since it'll randomly flinch him at times.

It is kinda funny. But, there may be a reason.
Nergigante is generally only found in the Elders Recess(though the storyline hunt is in the Wildspire Wastes), Teostra is only found in the Elders Recess and Wildspire Wastes, Kushala Daora is found in Elders Recess and Ancient Forest, but Kirin and Vaal Hazak are only found in the Coral Highlands and Rotten Vale, respectively. Maybe, since no other Elder dragons can really fit in those locales, Capcom made them exclusive to those locales in some sort of "fairness" whatchamacallit thingy. Doesn't really explain Kushala Daora and Teostra, but those two both hang out in the Elders Recess as well. Maybe the "Fairness" whatchamacallit thingamabobic algorithms decided it would be "fair".

  • @Deltablood
    @Deltablood 6 лет назад

You don't need Guard Up to block Nergigante's divebomb. I know this because I've blocked it several times before without the skill. Guard Up makes it possible to block otherwise unblockable attacks like Teostra's supernova and I believe Vaal Hazak's beam. Nergigante's divebomb is not an unblockable attack. Nergigante's divebomb is so hard to block normally because it also has multiple small hits that can hit you while you block until you run out of stamina, and when you try to block an attack without stamina, the attack goes through and hits you anyway. If you want to counterbuild, what you want instead is the Guard skill. Guard makes it so that you hold your ground better when you block attacks, and it takes less stamina to do so. Taking Guard will reduce the stamina cost of blocking these small attacks and make it much easier to stop the divebomb from breaking your guard.
You recommend using Flash Pods to stop Nergigante's divebomb, but first, Nergi's detection with Flash Pods is very finicky while he performs that move, so it's not always reasonable to flash him. Second, the black spikes covering Nergi cause lower damage and bouncing, but Nergi loses all those spikes when he divebombs, making him vulnerable afterward, so it may be a better idea to, instead of flashing him out of the attack, simply dodge the attack and take advantage of the fact that he's lost his spikes to deal more damage.
Also, did you just tell people to try evading at the right time to avoid Teostra's supernova? If I'm interpreting what you said correctly, that's not good advice. If you want to use invulnerability from dodges to avoid the attack, you get 6 frames of invincibility while you dodge, and I believe Teostra's supernova also takes up exactly 6 frames. In other words, you'd have to time your dodge perfectly to I believe somewhere between a 30th or a 60th of a second to pull that off. If Teostra's going supernova, just use the superman dive to dodge it. Even if he roars, you should still have just barely enough time to sheathe your weapon to perform the dodge.

Actually, val is to me the easiest one to kill with nerg next in line. All you really need for val is nulberry so when you do become effected by efluvia just eat the seed and its gone. You will have to bring your health back up after that though. Also if you happen to be under the efluvia blight when he stands up and does his extended inhale he will actually steal your health so you have to be sure to immediatly consume the nulberry as soon as you are aflicted by the efluvia

Always bring life powder, mega barrels bombs.
If your a lance main try minds eye vs nerg as you will most likely get punished during black spike deflectios,
Even if you build wind res 5 from decoration it has no effect against Kushala, but his armour set wind negate is effective, so consider farming his much easier non temp version first, also rocksteady, evasion & vitality mantel help.
Kiren is best to solo, but if your a hammer main remember flinch free in multiplayer and take full advantage of slopes and ledge attacks and big bang combo when kiren is down.
You may want earplugs for Vaal, as if your directly in front of him and near he will roar combo you, you can also negate roar by timing block with Lance.
Teos most annoying move is his running straight into you imo, fight is much easier if you have weapon with shield.
Most of all, never give up, keep at it, review your habits, min max your load out, maybe try a different weapon if your main isn't effective.
I'm a Lance main, beaten every monster with it except Lunastra, had to try ranged weapons for her.

Plus you can craft these pods mid combo or when you’ve been knocked on your butt. Oh and... USE THE RADIAL MENUE people. An easy way to up you game if you’re not using it already. I started using mine after 100 hours of gameplay, and now I use all 4 wheels of my radial menues. Extemely handy, and in my opinion makes you a better player as it helps you to be more reactive. My “X” is alway on mega potions, only time i change it is for mantles. How it makes you more reactive is you never have to scroll threw your items. Null berries, Antidotes, powders and seeds for buffs, grindstone, max potions, barrel bombs, traps all in a a set spot you can react to them with a single button push not scrolling 5 over then 5 back with the slide menu.

You can only flash tempered monsters 3 times. And you should use them at teostra nova and stuff like that

I like the glider mantle for kirin's nest.Mount kirin and stop it moving watch out for lighting it will knock you down or kill you. This strategy can be risky.

I beat tempered Kirin first try using full Vaal Hazak amor and the nergi insect glaive with a blast kinsect.
I just played very passively. I would gain my buffs. Then stick my kinsect to him. Wait for an opening and do one running attack to him Kirin and a blast cloud. I focused on Dodging abilities and only hitting him when completely safe. I also used my kinsect for most of my damage. Using the same ability you use to get buffs you can use that to slam the kinsect into him over and over agin. It's not much damage. About 15-20 per hit. But its damage you can do while keeping yourself safe.
I did have any range weapon on me. So I used my Glaive as a half ranged half melee build. Worked really well. Fainted twice the first fight and fought him again and didn't faint once. Just took patience

    1. Superman Dive Divebomb vs letting flashpodding .
    2. Teo just firemantle and elemental resistance food buff and armor
    3. Kushala DA-OR-A basically dont flash him in tornadoes. He stuns sorta easily
4.Val just get immunity mantle and Great girros waste and health buffs
    5. thunder pony break his damn horn and thunder mantle and just watch his attack patterns. light beams just dont stand in them.
    6. Lunastra-Fire proof AND COOL DRANKS. Flash pod to when close to charge to set off nova sooner. blue flames can be put out with with water pods. Breaking her wings and cut tail because that stupid tail hit box..

@thegameconomist the xeno hunting horn negates the winds better since it's a different buff.

Can't say about regular Lance, but Long3/Long4 Gunlance is for me the preferred method of fighting Vaal. Guard up, Guard, Effluvia resistance, Vitality up, health booster, health back augment. Just guard and blast his face, rinse and repeat. To be fair, the exact same tanky setup also works wonders against Nergigante too. No need to worry about his divebomb if you can guard that bitch.

I got the core game a few weeks back, recently reached HR 50 and wanted to try solo a tempered elder dragon, but I had no idea how to get those investigations, so, as a freaking noob, I went to the events option and find the elder dragons icons with an aura (at this moment I had no idea they where arch-tempered), and decided to try kirin. After 20-25 min of struggle I managed to kill it, however, I was still a little confused for the aura in the icon, why was it orange? I investigated a little about the tempered elder dragons and, after finding your videos, I discovered that, not only I am a moron, but that I managed to first try an arch-tempered kirin. How in heck did I managed to do that?!
