Can we talk about how amazing the whole hunt looks? The progression from slow armored to quick agressive monster is really well done and when she ignites that last room on fire and MOLTEN GOLD starts dropping from above... everything looks so glorious
Another tip I came across. Shoot the Gajalakas with the crystal burst to make them leave immediately instead of having to fight them. They are extremely annoying in this fight when your collecting tracks or trying to land a big hit on her.
john monty People rarely go to the gathering hub because it takes a shit ton of time loading. It also has every shop you need EXCEPT the GODDAMN bounty/investigation booth (it would be nice if it has a smithy too)
3:44 Why was that the most anime thing I’ve ever seen? Getting flung by the tail and launched into a boulder and breaking it with your body that shit was dope
Nah, by far the most anime thing that can happen on MHW is using a Wedge Beetle to sling up and cut off a monster's tail with the bow's melee attack in mid-air.
One tip I have is that during the last phase of the fight she often rears up and then charges in a straight line, if you hit her with a pierce pod while she is rearing up she will almost always fall over (ive done this multiple times and have yet to see it not happen)
my tip for fighting kulve: if you are having trouble not carting or aren't confident with your abillity to get away from her lava attacks use guard+5 and guard up with any shield weapon to easily block her lava attacks
What's that? Sorry, I can't hear you over the sounds of me shooting the cannons perfectly at Kulve whenever it appears on the 1st phase and dropping falling rocks on 1st & 3rd phase..
Eddie Serrano um, ok? I do all that, and gather the materials and max the reward level so I don't get only like one good weapon. I'm sick of ending the quest at reward level 14 because people are too lazy or just don't read.
Those elemental weaknesses actually make a lot of sense from a lore perspective - metal conducts electricity (hence why she’s vulnerable to electricity while she has her coat) and she seems to be a predominantly fire-based creature since she breathes fire and doesn’t seem to have an issue walking through lava (hence the weakness to ice). EDIT: The coat losing its protectiveness when she’s enraged also makes sense in a way - she’s a fire dragon and she’s pissed, it may not necessarily be her blood that’s boiling but something about her is generating enough heat to start melting the coat. Not completely, but enough to soften it.
Julian Adams No Ur not an idiot . It's just not possible if u have a good run to leave and come back quickly enough. They should put the farm and poogie there
john monty I like the beta but the alpha is super ugly to me....but I plan on getting the alpha set too....the skills on the alpha armor r just too good
My advice: just give up trying to farm for the weapon you want. This even has no progress to a goal: it's a literal 300+ sided dice that you have to reroll every time with a price tag of 30-40 of grinding the same boss per roll. If you haven't gotten what you want by now, then you're not going to get it no matter how much you try. That's luck.
Thank you for being such a great teacher Arekkz. A lot of what I know came from this channel. I've been playing Monster Hunter since the first one and I for sure appreciate this series of videos being made. If anyone is looking for squad members I would love to meet an active group of players.
Something worth mentioning: Crystalburst is capable of defeating those Gajalaka instantly. One shot is all that's needed to send two or even three of them running, if they're grouped closely together. Very useful for both those throwing knives AND for times when they're just getting in the way.
It's worth being aware, when she does the attack where she rolls/slides sideways, I swear the hit box for it extends past her body by about the length of a hunter.
An easy way to dodge that if you're in front of her is to dodge to the right of her head. The whole attack will carry her completely past you and it will miss.
Turbo Flea It's not inconsistent at all when she starts to roll and you cant roll away then run towards her front legs and chest, then right before the roll either run or roll through her. The window is huge. If you're not right on her during the preroll then that's a different situation.
The hitbox is accurate on her chest, but is rather wonky on her tail; I've been hit while i'm on the left side of the tail while she rolls to the right.
safety diving during her huge burning death attack has saved my life on more than one occasion, the invincibility lasts almost as long as the ground is burning.
Really helpful guide and I'm looking forward to more. I think you should include a rundown of gear and items to bring too. I mean the weaknesses section covers what kind of weapon, but including a section for "Recommended" armor, items and skills would be cool.
Great video, but you didn't make mention of how hitting her in the chest makes her coating start molding faster :/ I really wanted to know in-depth about that :(
After a weekend fighting her for 12+ hours each day my tips would be 1. Health potions people FFS heal you just took a hit that removed 75% of your HP WTF did you think was going to happen on that next hit. 2. Please, please, please DO Not bring weapons you do not clearly know how to use to the fight, I understand you got that epic new great sword but if you have never used it before (yes I can see in your guild card you never once used it) she is not the fight for you to try it out on. 3.TURN off the rude ass faint messages we all cart no need to get nasty about it 4. Save sleep ammo for the 4th room so you can do big horn damage there, and please pay attention for her going down so bombs can be placed.
one extra bonus super awesome tip. if you get knocked down by her magma pool attack, either from being airborn and getting hit by it or the initial creation of it, stay on the ground lying down if you are put into that state, if you do all damage against you is nullified till you stand up. otherwise great guide, hopefully many people see it :) i know i needed clarification on which element to use when, and which parts are the focus for each phase.
Some more tips: if u play a shielded weapon like gl / lance use shield jewel u can block the massive fire attacks ( walk forward during blocking to regain stamina between all these hits) U can use the cannons to break the paths wich are blocked ( makes him walk faster throught the first area i think) Rare 8 relics always have a level 3 slot need awakening for element / status but they are new weapons statwise
Very helpful tips indeed. Didn't even think about using farcaster and changing armor sets on different phases, also the throwing knives and crafting paralysis on it...excellent idea! Great guide!
in my opinion the most reliable strategy: 1:select a level 1 quest and gather as many tracks as you can, and get to the third phase, where kulve will flee. 2: the quest you have now (or join an even higher level one) 3: break the horn casing BEFORE the last phase, and then damage the horns so they are chipped. you will need a insect glaive or sword and shield user for this, because mounting is easier with them in the first phase, and a ranged weapon or insect glaive is also recommended to deal more damage to the horns without needing to topple the monster. 4: in phase 4, do some aerial attacks so you can get a mount quicker 5: the insect glaive user (if there is one) has to use a vitality and rocksteady mantle. they will now proceed to spam the circle aerial attack on the horn (it's actually one of the strongest moves of insect glaive and allows you to easily hit a high up target) 6: try to get a mount or a trip. this will always allow you to destroy the horns comfortably within the time limit.
just to clarify, the horns have two stages of damage, excluding the outer shell break, chip and break. the horns can only be broken in the last stage, but they can be chipped beforehand, so if you damage them before the last phase, you are less likely to lose the fight at the end.
Ariel Circle is not one of IGs strongest attacks. A-triangle, wide sweep, and tornado strike all do more dps then A-circle without consuming stamina to do them and it does only one hit of mounting compare to a-triangles every hit. For max dps AND mounting potential I suggest a-circle into a-triangle for a mount and repeat. Don't get me wrong a-circle is great for breaking parts off the coat with parts breaker and to avoid "floor is lava" attack.
aerial circle will always deal more damage than aerial triangle, however, like you said it has less mounting potential, and costs stamina, but it does a lot of dps. for example, on my set, triangle attacks deal around 16 to 40 damage, and the normal circle combo does around 100 to 200, depending on how much damage the target takes. aerial circle does a bunch of hits dealing around 18, and finished with a hit of around 100 to 150. so it's one of insect glaive's strongest moves. not the strongest, but one of, and it works well in a situation like this, as you are able to easily hit the horns. also, note how 4 is about mounting, and 5 is about circle attacks in the air, implying that you focus on the mounting attacks before the nound, and then use more dps aerial attacks after the mount.
Pascl not by my counting. Typically O hits for 8-15 damage per hit with only the last doing about 60-80. And then triangle getting 60-80 each up to 4 times. All of which being orange numbers with minimal crits.
ZigZag i got a gem the second time i fought her from a carve xD so i thought "hey this is generous" *two days later* "JUST GIVE ME THE OTHER ONE PLEEEAAASE"😂😂
Nice guide, thanks Arrekz. Adding a section discussing skills that are especially effective for a given monster and detailing their moves a bit more in-depth could be a good addition.
YES!!!! I've been waiting for you to do these types of MHW videos for some time and I'm glad you finally have. Other channels don't do it much justice and aren't that helpful. I would appreciate a Deviljho and Teostra guide when you have the chance.
Good video! I think you should also mention that there are four falling boulder opportunities in the first zone, all marked by crystal scattered on the ground and crystal sparks on the giant archways. I would say at least two successful drop in the first zone is going to be a big help to the team.
I've made a build just for this fight with bombardier 3, handicraft 3, partbreaker, wide range, and high fire resistance. I use Lance with it. Makes this fight very easy
Wiggler head Uragaan mail Kaiser vambraces Kulve malive Bazel greaves Jewels are: 3 friendships Destroyer Protection Bomber Oh, and it has free element too.
tip: during the fire attack in the last phase where she rears up on her hind legs, you'll be safe behind her and this is a great time to target her tail for the tail break.
Great guide! Just also wanted to mention that with that molten lava attack, the range of the heat damage seems to be entirely on the ground only. If you use some kind of jumping attack, something like the insect glaive vault, you can avoid a lot of damage and even attack her in the process.
One thing you didn't mention when talking about the throwing knives: you can find sleep herbs around the path that Kulve walks as well as parashrooms in the upper level of the first area. The upper area also has some honey spots and a few ammo plants for gunners. Thanks for all the great content ^^
Super helpful video!! This explains why some of my runs have gone so much smoother than others. You can also avoid her molten fire pool breath by just staying by her tail.
Very nice guide! Also fire weapons and torch pods will make the gold soft, along with hitting her in the chest bone. Don't forget collecting tracks also adds a few points to pursuit level, and after each quest you should check the list to see what objectives have been met. If no group has broken her right front leg yet: you should focus that next time. Also be smart about when you leave on the quest, I see so many groups leave on a level 2 or 3 a few minutes before other groups get back and level it up. The early levels take much longer and if you're stuck for 20 minutes in a level 2, there is a good chance that the level 4 group that left right after you is gonna win and you don't get to carve horns. Be patient! And skip the intro cutscene with the options button if everyone hits it! Also, do black diablos next! The amount of randos that will fail a tempered black diablos makes it a very bad decision to SOS... and there are so many tricks with blos. Sonic pods, getting horns stuck, and how to avoid those huge hitboxes! This video series will be my favorite and it's something I've wished I could do for a long time. Thank you!
That Guy who is unbelievably bad at math I feel your pain. I have a sleep Lance build I made because I got a ridiculous Lance with hidden sleep from her, only use it solo because as you said, if you're in mp and you get sleep to proc, there is always someone who doesn't realise and hits her effectively wasting the sleep
That Guy who is unbelievably bad at math. Ughhhhhh i die inside every time i sleep her and some noob as player is still hitting her and ruines a good chance 😑
In my experience, she actually has to kind of fire puddle attacks, both can be avoided by being behind her, but one has sooo much more range than the other, like, half the map in front of her.
a neat little trick when jumping off the camp is to face left and spamming your slinger. This will get you to the higher area faster because there's a wedge bettle
Tip I read somewhere but I haven't tested myself: If you sleep her under an arch in the first phase, the falling boulders do double damage too for 3000 damage. Throw some bombs under it as well and thats like 6k damage you can do as a group in an instant.
Great video, Arekkz! The only suggestion I can think of would be “recommended weapons” for maximum damage. Perhaps a top three to five? Either way, love the new series and I can’t wait to see where it goes!
Arekkz Gaming Hi arekkz Can make a list guide for which weapons are better she drop coz I don't know which weapon is useless or great I have alot of weapons of all 14 kind alot of them I didn't played at all like Lance but am gonna play them in future I just need a tips if they worthy for example 368 dmg and (600 thunder hidden) Lance 20 %affinity is it worth to use or keep? In short just the basic details of each kind of weapons for players to know
This is a great new series as you can learn a thing or two from it when you're new to the franchise like I am. I also got another idea you could do Arekkz. For people who are new to the series like myself could you do an overview of all the previous game in the series(Like story, new monsters added, armor overviews, etc)
Just as an added tip, you CAN sleep bomb this thing, in both forms. Stacking sleep and putting a full teams supply of mega barrel bombs at its head is a super easy way to break the horns or other parts.
Great video! I would add that if you're running Lance with a Shield (Guard Up) decoration, you can tank Kulve's big fire pool attack (you will need most of your stamina bar to do so).
I need some clarifications: In area 3, is my goal to do enough damage to her so she looses her coat, or should I focus on breaking all the parts? I think I broke all her parts once, she just burrowed and regained all her parts.
YoungTheFish focus on breaking the horns BEFORE her coat comes off for some more carves. After that then you should break the rest of her coat. You only need to break the parts once to count towards the reward level.
third phase i believe is a bit of both breaking parts means you are doing some good damage, but you dont need to break every single part to proc the next stage of the fight. Just today she had the gold around her arms and still went to the last room
YoungTheFish you should be aiming to knock her coat off in area 2, if youre doing enough DPS, so by the lava flow area you're blasting her to shit. Cannons are almost mandatory, 2-3 full 5 shot blasts make a huge difference. But on average, yeah, lure her to the lava eruptions and rocks to do a crap ton of damage, and she should run off to area 4 in no time. It's silly not to use all the help they give you I've seen a lot of people ignore them Have high fire resist and you're golden
Everything you need is on the map for gathering. Blue Mushrooms/Godbugs, Large Barrels/Fire Herbs/Devil's Blight, Herbs/Honey, Parashrooms & Sleep Herbs (to go with the Throwing Knives), and Chillshrooms. There's an ammo plant or two in there, too, but I forget what they are. Tip: if you are using Sleep Knives/ammo/coatings/weapons in Area 3, do your best to land the sleep where part of her body will NOT be laying on top of a magma fountain. It causes damage, so she'll just wake right back up.
What i don't like is this being the 6th video about Kulve Taroth :/ Even though there is a lot to cover about this event, a video for every single topic gets annoying. You could have combined some videos and it wouldn't matter/get confusing. I bet there is another video on the way about Kulve Taroth. This is how you make money on RUclips i guess.
Hey, I picked up an awesome level 8 rarity Kulve hybrid Hammer called ‘Rage’ from one the end rewards.. it’s freaking awesome.. 1180 base damage and 480! Elemental damage.. it’s insane..
I like this fight, It just peaks on the harder side but if coordinated it goes really smoothly and I've found some really awesome melded weapons! I like your SNS tactics I have tried those yet but it makes me wanna give it a run, I enjoy HBG a lot on this fight. I noticed in the comments a few people mentioned fire being mostly useless in Worlds, I really think they almost treat Fire Ele like a status, its used in application more then offensively. Like a few monsters have a decent weakness to it but with Lavasioth and now Kulve having a softening effect from it its kind of a double worker! Anyways Great vid man I've watched a few of yours without realizing they were all by you! Keep up the good work I'll add a Sub!
Don't know if this has been pointed out but a bit of a cheap last resort move if you're caught in the lava flow you can pop your farcast and return to base without dying!
Here’s a tip (even though it should be common knowledge), if you get caught in the molten whatever she spews from her mouth, keep the weapon and superman dive as soon as you can. It’ll help you survive much better than trying to run out of it
You can also use a fire proof mantel in the final area for her AOE attack. It halfs the damage, and stops you from catching fire. Also, to save your team a cart. You can farcaster out of the attack if you know youre gonna die. Then just shortcut back.
Dragon weakness is only 1 star whilst she has her golden armour and 2 star when it's shed (correction from stated 2 star weakness with gold armour up at approx 2:05)
"We didn't have enough manpower for a thorough investigation" Translation "We didn't have enough blood thirsty skilled warriors to properly murder and disect this creature and make shiny armor and weapons"
We (my group) break her hunt into 2 stages we, first hunt is about pursuit level and breaking as much as we can for the reward level, we usually get 7- 9 on the first run, second hunt is about finishing breaking what we didn't first ( you don't get point for breaking the same piece twice) breaking the tail on area 4 and of course the horns this gets us reward level 15-17. We have mostly had hubs that focus purely on the horns not getting the reward very high so this is our tactic to get good rewards despite that. This was a bit long bit if you read it this far I hope it helps
Its worth noting for more defensively oriented hunters (or anyone getting completely melted by her fire breath and floor attacks) that specing into high fire resistance will give you much more time to get away from the floor lava and a much higher chance of surviving that breath attack if you opt out of fireproof mantle (I typically bring vitality and apothecary for paralysis). All of my Kulve sets have 35+ fire res. Though you do give up a lot of offensive options for this.
to be noted : you can get her gem from the gold that drops when you break the gold plating of her horns . The two gems that I got were from mining that gold drop . So you really want to get those horns before she is released . In the first phase , when you drop boulders on her , it's very easy to get her horns chipped .
If you're wearing the Fireproof mantle and step inside the area of a heal booster you will heal for as much damage as the AoE does (at neutral melee resistance, ranged or more fire-resisant armor can make the healing go into the positive). While it's not particularly effective to plan for, it can help you out if you're feeling cheeky and already have the healing booster nearby.
I recommend using the glider mantle in the 4th room (and to a lesser extent, the 2nd room). It makes mounting her much easier. And since she loves to move around a lot, being able to change direction mid-air is incredibly useful. I'm able to pull off far more mounting attacks with it on.
One tip you missed is how strong the Health Booster is for the final fight. Most of her attacks cause hard knockdown, which allow you to heal to full safely if you land in a Health Booster aura. On top of that, Health Boosters can often sustain you through her persistent fire breath attack. So if you know you cannot dodge it, dropping a Health Booster can often save you, give your fire defense isn't in the negatives.
One thing to keep note of is that when Kulve Taroth is released (her coat is gone), you can attack her tail to break it one additional time. Do this before you commit to the horns to maximize your reward level, assuming you broke everything else during your siege.
Not only can you grab Large Barrels, you can also grab Fire herbs and Nitroshrooms to make the Gunpowder. Bombs are also doing twice what they usually do.
btw for all the solo players that need to suffer through this you can still get the end rewards with the weapons and armor tickets if you raise you reward level and then try to join a random lobby even if you dont have ps plus ... it will just trigger the rewards based on your current reward level
Been having lots of fun with this quest. Just keeping my fingers crossed for the Rarity 8 greatsword drop as that's my main. Have almost every other rarity 8 weapon this monster drops but man I need it now haha. Love the vids, thank you for the quality content like always.
Rozenoir Aurelius I'm having the opposite problem. I suck with GS and any format of ranged weapon, so what have I had? 3 GS, 4 HBG and a bow at rarity 8
AKA Billy thanks! This is a great tip
AKA Billy yeah and any slinger ammo works too, even thorn pods. I tried it
Argent Even stones?
Yamanata......... Oh right, never tried stones XD are there any on eldorado tho?
Argent There are. There is 1 stone pile at the camp and another under the first wedge beetle after you dropped down from the camp.
What do you think of this event?
I really like seeing more people in the gathering halls 😄
A P Arm wrestling competitions are the best
we need more events like this
I think it's kind of depressing. We need special events to get people together or else you'll be solo in the gathering hub.
Love it when someone takes your spot in the team after fighting hard, then you are left by yourself or 3 low geared hunters...
john monty People rarely go to the gathering hub because it takes a shit ton of time loading.
Nah, by far the most anime thing that can happen on MHW is using a Wedge Beetle to sling up and cut off a monster's tail with the bow's melee attack in mid-air.
lol it was!
Plis do Great Jagras next, he's too strong for me 😔
bruh -_-"
Ikr I think it's 10 times harder than Xeno Jiva
Have you heard of sarcasm ?
🤣
Yeah, they need to nerf
One tip I have is that during the last phase of the fight she often rears up and then charges in a straight line, if you hit her with a pierce pod while she is rearing up she will almost always fall over (ive done this multiple times and have yet to see it not happen)
TariC drake sounds plausible. Ima try it later thanks. I have noticed piercing pods make it flinch often
Hitting Kulve in the chest (the white spiky part in between the 2 gold bits) with trigger the molten coat form more often.
Ruben Fugate thanks for tip hope this helps me in solos :3
The handler points this out, she says attack the chest to weaken the golden armor more
those are her boobs
Because Japan
@@aliogre2000 and that is more inappropriate then ever to think about it
my tip for fighting kulve: if you are having trouble not carting or aren't confident with your abillity to get away from her lava attacks use guard+5 and guard up with any shield weapon to easily block her lava attacks
Pick... Up... The footprints. Ffs people.
FilthyCasualKai lool
What's that? Sorry, I can't hear you over the sounds of me shooting the cannons perfectly at Kulve whenever it appears on the 1st phase and dropping falling rocks on 1st & 3rd phase..
FilthyCasualKai oh finally I meet somebody who has a brain
Congratz, you got big damage numbers, but less rewards.
Eddie Serrano um, ok?
I do all that, and gather the materials and max the reward level so I don't get only like one good weapon. I'm sick of ending the quest at reward level 14 because people are too lazy or just don't read.
Hey, Arekz, a tip in a loading screen says to use Fire Weapons because it makes her coating go soft sooner.
Kody Stewart how many do you have to hit her with?
That must be what one of my groups was doing. I don't think it takes many at all because it happened rather quickly.
Wow really, didn't expect fire to be useful in the fight since she's that type
Which is genius becasue fire is otherwise useless in this game
One more reason to use zorah HBG over jho HBG then.
Also lots of people don’t skip the beginning cutscene, I think you can if everyone presses start while it’s playing
Draco XD yes you are correct on both things
Reminds me of the dalamadur days
Sir Rafarga awesome thanks
Naazam Basir yes good times! Imagine a 16 hunter dalamadur hunt. That would be hilarious yet fun
Draco XD yeah I noticed that, id always hit start and since it would only work sometimes I figured that had to be it
Those elemental weaknesses actually make a lot of sense from a lore perspective - metal conducts electricity (hence why she’s vulnerable to electricity while she has her coat) and she seems to be a predominantly fire-based creature since she breathes fire and doesn’t seem to have an issue walking through lava (hence the weakness to ice).

And then you have ingot armor which, despite being a metal and thus conductive, gives you thunder resistance...
Also, fire weapons seem to soften her coat faster.
7:28 LMAO “Standard Arekkz”
Only problem with this event? Put a way for me to look at my farm in the gathering hub! My fertilizers keep running out because I’m an idiot....
Julian Adams No Ur not an idiot . It's just not possible if u have a good run to leave and come back quickly enough. They should put the farm and poogie there
And doing it solo is near impossible
I’ve farmed this stupid goat so much that if I saw a goat irl I’d probably punt kick it. I finally got the full beta armour
Michael Goss I wish it wasn't so ugly or I'd wear it.
john monty I like the beta but the alpha is super ugly to me....but I plan on getting the alpha set too....the skills on the alpha armor r just too good
My advice: just give up trying to farm for the weapon you want. This even has no progress to a goal: it's a literal 300+ sided dice that you have to reroll every time with a price tag of 30-40 of grinding the same boss per roll. If you haven't gotten what you want by now, then you're not going to get it no matter how much you try. That's luck.

8:03 ah yes lifepowders the item no one seems to use when I play
That Guy lol
I have 400+ and use them when teammates are in a pickle
Im always stackeddddd
It's not my responsibility to pick up your slack.
Enjoy failing more hunts because you aren't a team player

Jacob Kern it's hella inconsistent for sure.

Keep It up, I love your monster hunter videos! I was here since 4 ul.
lol just found my old comment cause I’m playing iceborn again on pc
Really helpful guide and I'm looking forward to more. I think you should include a rundown of gear and items to bring too. I mean the weaknesses section covers what kind of weapon, but including a section for "Recommended" armor, items and skills would be cool.
Great video, but you didn't make mention of how hitting her in the chest makes her coating start molding faster :/ I really wanted to know in-depth about that :(
dsr95 I believe if you hit her chest hard enough, she'll get staggered and therefore mollifying her golden armor.
I love TwoSixNine's reaction "Standard Arekkz" to his death at 7:30 :D
After a weekend fighting her for 12+ hours each day my tips would be

4. Save sleep ammo for the 4th room so you can do big horn damage there, and please pay attention for her going down so bombs can be placed.
Finally someone says it
eyy
one extra bonus super awesome tip.
if you get knocked down by her magma pool attack, either from being airborn and getting hit by it or the initial creation of it, stay on the ground lying down if you are put into that state, if you do all damage against you is nullified till you stand up.

Rare 8 relics always have a level 3 slot need awakening for element / status but they are new weapons statwise
Very helpful tips indeed. Didn't even think about using farcaster and changing armor sets on different phases, also the throwing knives and crafting paralysis on it...excellent idea! Great guide!
in my opinion the most reliable strategy:
1:select a level 1 quest and gather as many tracks as you can, and get to the third phase, where kulve will flee.
2: the quest you have now (or join an even higher level one)
3: break the horn casing BEFORE the last phase, and then damage the horns so they are chipped. you will need a insect glaive or sword and shield user for this, because mounting is easier with them in the first phase, and a ranged weapon or insect glaive is also recommended to deal more damage to the horns without needing to topple the monster.
4: in phase 4, do some aerial attacks so you can get a mount quicker
5: the insect glaive user (if there is one) has to use a vitality and rocksteady mantle. they will now proceed to spam the circle aerial attack on the horn (it's actually one of the strongest moves of insect glaive and allows you to easily hit a high up target)
6: try to get a mount or a trip. this will always allow you to destroy the horns comfortably within the time limit.
just to clarify, the horns have two stages of damage, excluding the outer shell break, chip and break. the horns can only be broken in the last stage, but they can be chipped beforehand, so if you damage them before the last phase, you are less likely to lose the fight at the end.
Ppl are soloing this with Dual Blades and Bows. IG is by no means needed.
Crystalburst trick on the barf attack is a game changer. Awesome.
Arekkz can you do a guide on how to obtain Kulve Taroth gems. I swear to RNGesus those are rarer than a Nun doing squats in an eggplant field...
ZigZag the gold chunk that falls off and is carve-able drops it. I’ve received two already
Jahens I only got one in 2 days farming. And that was a post quest reward... None from carving yet. Gz for your carves :)
ZigZag i got a gem the second time i fought her from a carve xD so i thought "hey this is generous" *two days later* "JUST GIVE ME THE OTHER ONE PLEEEAAASE"😂😂
David melendez Feelsbadman :/
ZigZag just killed her horns again, no gem ;-;
Nice guide, thanks Arrekz. Adding a section discussing skills that are especially effective for a given monster and detailing their moves a bit more in-depth could be a good addition.
I missed the part of how to not get oneshot by her massive body rolling across the entire cave
YES!!!! I've been waiting for you to do these types of MHW videos for some time and I'm glad you finally have. Other channels don't do it much justice and aren't that helpful. I would appreciate a Deviljho and Teostra guide when you have the chance.
an Episode for the Vaal Hazak would be awesome
FilthyCasualKai build list?
Slender ManJR I can give it later. I'm not near my PS4. It does use the wiggler head tho!
Lanceboissssss
Wiggler head
Uragaan mail
Kaiser vambraces
Kulve malive
Bazel greaves
Jewels are:
3 friendships
Destroyer
Protection
Bomber
Oh, and it has free element too.
That sound when the "Lore", "Tactics" and "Tips & Tricks" came up in the video would make a great text notification sound.
David S. it used to be mine. It was also the jingle when you pick up eggs and other carrying-items in the old monster Hunter games !
her move sets just feel like a really big great ludroth to me lol the fire can be easily blocked with a fireproof mantle
tip: during the fire attack in the last phase where she rears up on her hind legs, you'll be safe behind her and this is a great time to target her tail for the tail break.
My vote for the next mon in this series would be Deviljho.
I'm going to assume that this is a joke.
Never have I been so thankful for my wide-range build. It is the true paladin in this fight. Thank You for the video!
I’m from the future in 2020 you can slay taroth xD
Great guide! Just also wanted to mention that with that molten lava attack, the range of the heat damage seems to be entirely on the ground only. If you use some kind of jumping attack, something like the insect glaive vault, you can avoid a lot of damage and even attack her in the process.
never clicked on a notification so fast
been waiting hours for this!
aaarrrggghhh gimme my fix
kappa
Thanks, Arekkz, I'm a new player to Kulve. Anticipating the event tomorrow for her, so this was so nice.
Interesting thing. You can break off her golden coat in area two. the hunting party i was with once did that abd it was incredibly satisfying.
One thing you didn't mention when talking about the throwing knives: you can find sleep herbs around the path that Kulve walks as well as parashrooms in the upper level of the first area. The upper area also has some honey spots and a few ammo plants for gunners. Thanks for all the great content ^^
Most people I que with get one shot...so many are trying this undergeared.
Stark yeah but believe me if she is not coming back too soon I also would go in undergeared
Matthias Knaak I get it but as a solo player it's tough to complete. You can do it solo but it won't down scale.
Yeah those weapons she gives is super nice. But I wouldn't make myself a burden to others. I'm just not selfish like that.
Story of my life. I've fought her 20 times already and have never won once because everyone keeps dying. Even lvl 200+ people, like wtf?
Super helpful video!! This explains why some of my runs have gone so much smoother than others.
You can also avoid her molten fire pool breath by just staying by her tail.
"a thorough investigation" I think you meant beating it to death
Thank you!
Kulve taroth can sleep within the first 5 mins or less if u do it right. (Everybody hits her when she sleeps though :/ )
That Guy who is unbelievably bad at math I hate that part... I’m screaming on the mic for them to stop!
glad to know im not the only one :D
That Guy who is unbelievably bad at math I feel your pain. I have a sleep Lance build I made because I got a ridiculous Lance with hidden sleep from her, only use it solo because as you said, if you're in mp and you get sleep to proc, there is always someone who doesn't realise and hits her effectively wasting the sleep
That Guy who is unbelievably bad at math. Ughhhhhh i die inside every time i sleep her and some noob as player is still hitting her and ruines a good chance 😑
Manny Heart no kidding
This is good info, thanks. Sadly when I try to do this no one ever wants to help lol.
Can u do cobalt flutter fly, keeps killing me😭
that tip with the throwing knife sounds like a good one i haven't known about thanks for the video
How do you get the stupid glimstones, I've waisted 2 days trying to get them and didn't get a single one.
Same
usually from the fallen horn gold plating and if you are the first to win the siege/broke the horn first.
Break all the parts basically
Spicy Meat'a Balla the usual way, either by carving the gold plating and the horns or the quest rewards. And a lot of luck obviously.
Ray Blade You can't get it from rewards and I've carved at least 15 times and got nothing so no it's not obvious
Tip I read somewhere but I haven't tested myself:
If you sleep her under an arch in the first phase, the falling boulders do double damage too for 3000 damage. Throw some bombs under it as well and thats like 6k damage you can do as a group in an instant.
I seriously need help with this event
Great video, Arekkz! The only suggestion I can think of would be “recommended weapons” for maximum damage. Perhaps a top three to five? Either way, love the new series and I can’t wait to see where it goes!
Are you going to finish weapon workshop?
Engineer Watkins Sunday
I will! It'll return next week. The Kulve Taroth content this week has pushed it back a bit, but soon :)
Arekkz Gaming
Hi arekkz
Can make a list guide for which weapons are better she drop coz I don't know which weapon is useless or great I have alot of weapons of all 14 kind alot of them I didn't played at all like Lance but am gonna play them in future I just need a tips if they worthy for example 368 dmg and (600 thunder hidden) Lance 20 %affinity is it worth to use or keep?
In short just the basic details of each kind of weapons for players to know
AWESOME!!!! I hope you continued this series!
I only have her ecology info on the hunters notes, why doesnt it show me the rest of it if ive gathered countless footprints and stuff from her ;_;
Kody Stewart Omg, thank you SO much, cant believe i completely forgot about that, have barely stepped on the tradeyard since KT came out, thank you!!
Norangel G Lol right I spent all my time in the gathering hub because of her and I've used all my items because of it never taking a break to restock.
This is a great new series as you can learn a thing or two from it when you're new to the franchise like I am.
I also got another idea you could do Arekkz. For people who are new to the series like myself could you do an overview of all the previous game in the series(Like story, new monsters added, armor overviews, etc)
Ironically, Gold is one of the softest metals. Yay for logic. Then again, the logic for the weapon sizes makes about as much sense.
Just as an added tip, you CAN sleep bomb this thing, in both forms. Stacking sleep and putting a full teams supply of mega barrel bombs at its head is a super easy way to break the horns or other parts.
Could I possibly get the Ram Helm (from D1) from Kulve Taroth?
:]
I love this guide, it will help me be a better hunter and also possibly pre game with other members when we take on this monster.
Best MH indeed. Though it would be good to see Alatreon and Fatal is in World...oohhh the Graphics would neeeeaatttt!!!!!
Gaming Is Not A Crime who is fatal?
Fatal is the most fatal-ishy dragon in the monster hunter universe
Alatreon will be added at some. It was found in the coming along with oroshi Kirin and lunastra
Alatreon will be added in. Not sure about the Fatalises.
Apparently Alatreon's going to be the ultimate final boss.
You only need to break the parts once to count towards the reward level.
third phase i believe is a bit of both
breaking parts means you are doing some good damage, but you dont need to break every single part to proc the next stage of the fight. Just today she had the gold around her arms and still went to the last room
You should try to break all the parts once each and get pursuit level 6 for max rewards, this usually takes 2 hunts with an effective group
It's silly not to use all the help they give you I've seen a lot of people ignore them
Have high fire resist and you're golden
*scoff* come on; kulve is just the final form of great Jagras, according to NCH and Rage
Very nice video. Great knowledge to know on all fronts I just now started fighting her and really needed some help. Happy Hunting!
What i don't like is this being the 6th video about Kulve Taroth :/
Even though there is a lot to cover about this event, a video for every single topic gets annoying. You could have combined some videos and it wouldn't matter/get confusing. I bet there is another video on the way about Kulve Taroth. This is how you make money on RUclips i guess.
Great video as always!
Can’t wait until the next.
Hey, I picked up an awesome level 8 rarity Kulve hybrid Hammer called ‘Rage’ from one the end rewards.. it’s freaking awesome.. 1180 base damage and 480! Elemental damage.. it’s insane..
Loving this new series!
The first and last episode in this Series. Gj Arekkz.
Bro I swear if Admiral says let’s wrap it up one more fucking time
I like this fight, It just peaks on the harder side but if coordinated it goes really smoothly and I've found some really awesome melded weapons!
It’ll help you survive much better than trying to run out of it
Nice video Arrkez as always, I got all her armor set already and both Samurai set also.
I just got to the Nergigante Quest and it has proved pretty difficult for me. So a video about that would be quite helpful!
