This is a paste from a comment I did somewhere else, I hope it helps: Use weapons with high elemental damage. The best elements are [Fire] for [Ice active mode], [Ice] for [Fire active mode] and [Dragon] to always do elemental damage in every elemental mode. He starts with a different element, Ice active or Fire active, depending on the name of the quest. To prevent Alatreon from going to the opposite element break his horns during dragon phase( they are only breakable during the [Dragon] phase). Before changing elements he does Escaton Judgement (nova). He follows this order when changing: [Starting element] -> [Dragon + Escaton Judgement] -> [Opposite of starting element]. He does his nova around 5 to 7 minutes into the fight and with weakening it once is enough to outheal it. Bring Astera Jerky, Great Sushifish Scale, Max Potions and Ancient Potions to survive the nova. Use Safi'jiiva's set to increase elemental damage; also it has enough space for defensive skills, 3 levels of Evade Window and free 40 Affinity. Make sure to equip blight resistance, knockout resistance and health boost as defensive skills. Don't forget to fully upgrade your armor and put a health regen augment on your weapons. Before the fight leave your cat in camp and eat for Feline Insurance. Combat Tips: 1-During the fight try to stay near the front legs, it's the safest spot and has the best elemental hitzones. 2-DO NOT run around, it will make you deal less damage and trigger Alatreon's ranged attacks. 3-You can roll away and through almost every [Lighting] attack Alatreon does, and those are the ones with the most openings. 4-The Fire attack with multiple explosions must be rolled away first and after the center explosion happens roll back in, he is open until the last explosion. 5-When he flies up and does an AOE fire or ice breath attack pointing beneath him : clutch and tenderize if you want. 6-If he is flying just stay under him and attack the rear legs or the tail. 7-In the air he does two or three claw attacks depending wether he is enraged or not. Well, when he is done doing it he goes into a little rest animation in which you can cluth or attack. 8-Always try to stay close to him and don't panic, his strongest attacks give pretty good openings. 9-Beware of physical attacks, those give dragonblight and knock you out easily ( Thats why you bring blight resistance and knockout resistance) 10-I recommended you to do a few practice hunts just to learn the patterns and get used to the flow of the fight. As a last piece of advice, please, do the hunt solo, it will give you higher chances of survival and it lowers the DPS check, plus Alatreon will always stay close to you. Please ask if you have more questions or tell me if I missed something. Good luck.

Another tip: If he starts charging his escaton judgement, and you do not remember doing that special trip - do not just stand an wait or run around. Instead, you should quickly abandon quest to save your consumables.
Bruh, I would need to clear my inventory at least 500 times for my rarest consumables to run out. Just bet on luck, so that if you just forgot the trip, you won't abandon your team mates
Yeah, I always hunt with my brother, so I don't have a solo build made yet honestly and all the randoms I get just try to brute force it, so the horn breaks a lot
Yep. If you use a heavy weapon, you better predict every single movement of his otherwise you won't have many opportunities to inflict the necessary damage to him. I just used aquashot with sticky spam + ate for safeguard to solo him so I could relief myself from chasing him around and also I could completely ignore his dps check mechanic this way.
you need to hit it in the boulders and not the empty rocks. Tbh it's really dumb cause you cant launch him into a wall like that every time, depending on the position. If you don't wallbang him= no hornbreak = screwed.
*Easy Mode* = Ignore Elements DPS and Breaking Horns , Go full Meta DPS and Equip Fortify. Eat few supernovas, You will be Carted sure but Alatreon will be dead since its health is not that high for Solo Player Divine Beassing 5+Safeguard Meal helps too

God dammit he's annoying lol. You can knock him out of the air if you clawshot, punch his face, and then trigger like most fliers. I was able to still hit his feet while he was flying with sns. Unlike safi they thankfully made his feet weak spots.

This fight is the summation of someone over at Capcom getting asked what to do to make a "hard" fight, and after wiping the cocaine off his nose, he said "Fuck it, just reskin the Behemoth fight with extra steps."
Killed it after a few runs: I had to forge that Guild Huntin Horn for water as the Ice horn I forged proved troublesome (I didn't have any elemental horns up to snuff). I also took speed eatting lvl3, free meal lvl3, and wide range lvl 5: "I didn't say you could die". Temporal Mantle and Health Booster Spray. So I played my doots (attk def stam health boosting). Sprinkled some water on the dragon. Drank away the super move in the health spray. Kept an eye on team health, ate Null Berries if anyone had dragon blight, and latched onto it's head when it fell over to weaken it.
eveofmana his hunting horn has good synergy with the set bonus as well if you’re looking for a decent horn. The elemental effectiveness up, elemental attack up work, and resist blight up (up elemental dmg increases due to this as well)works well with the resistance = elemental dmg increase. Also negate blight reduces the need for null berries practically. Alternatively you could craft a safi elemental horn with the same song set (elemental melody 2 I believe).
My team and I already figured out the mechanics here but still spent 6 hours unable to beat him. Really don’t enjoy how high the dps check. And you can’t swap weapons to be able to take advantage to his changing weaknesses. One person will be doing good damage to the dps check but another will be contributing nothing to his dps check no matter how strong your hits are. It’s basically better to use dragon or thunder since it counts to the elemental dps check we found. That being said we still can’t get past the second nova. Came into this fight excited and now I just hate it
Do note that breaking his horns will only prevent him from shifting to the opposing element for one cycle. If you dont break them after judgment before he does it again, he will switch on the next cycle. Since he only has 2 horns, you can only do this twice so make sure you take him out by the cycle he switches or else, you know what's going to happen.
If you are struggling, try crafting Alatreons LBG. It can be crafted without needing to kill, you just need to break the horns and pick up shiny drops. The LBG rapid fires every elemental ammo, so you can build to make use of multiple elements, like Fire and Ice if you struggle to break the horns.
The annoying thing is when I feel like my team is doing well, but because we didn't get that DPS check we get carted no matter what. It sucks when everything is going well outside of that one Judgement attack.
Well, seems like you only imagine you are doing well. Honestly, this quest is tough, but really not that hard if you are decent at this game. The only problem have players who don't play other weapons but Heavy Hitters. But then again, as Hammer main I managed to beat him with dual blades. Maybe git gud?
@@tiewkiat that's phemento though, apart from the fact that he is probably a cyborg and not a regular human anymore, he probably also went through dozens of failed attempts until he finally got one successful attempt
To clarify: breaking a horn only delays Alatreon from switching to the opposite element for one Escaton Judgement. Meaning if he starts in Fire Active and you break both horns at the right time, you have 3 cycles before he goes into Ice Active. This makes solo a bit harder than it needs to imho, but it's still manageable
This makes it tougher in 4 player, since you can’t control the DPS of your teammates. If you get through 4 cycles and haven’t killed him yet, you instantly lose (since no one is doing elemental DPS) granted he has pretty low base health so if you’re doing enough elemental DPS chances are you’re doing enough raw DPS as well.
I have to say, now that I have managed to beat him, I'm kinda bummed at this fight. It's an exceptional fight, which is quite challenging up until Escaton. Sorry but that mechanic is just obnoxious. I'll probably get the armor and never fight Alatreon again, I'm afraid. A damn shame considering how good this fight is besides the dps check.
Imma get the long sword, hammer, dual swords and that's it. And if they require too many alatreon parts I'm not gonna bother, I already hunted him once, that's all I need I got the pendant, I'm done
I'm sad they have done this to one of the best monsters in the franchise, I wish new players had the same experience as those who fought it in the older games as it was amazing
@@zackfarrel8561 he's basically a non siege Safi jiiva but with that bullshit dps check mechanic.. more people are giving up on this game.. i just wish capcom has a dropbox where we can put our complaints about mhw.... not cool.
Exactly. Monster Hunter was always about the very different ways you could go out and tackle a monster; you really had the 50 minute timer back then and you weren't limited to some MMO mechanic shit
I like the tension it creates. It also becomes redundant , once you learned the fight. It takes some time and failures, sure. I hate relating everything to dark souls, but this boss want you to beat it and the joy was big once we did. We did not fail once after we beat him the first time.
@Hammer Go Bonk! Such mechanics are not MMO exclusive. From a design perspective i find it much better than tanky enemies where the fight draws behind the 30 minute mark. Alatreon can be killed quite fast. I prefer that over overly long fights against arc tempered monsters.
@@Vashetrockner Dark souls wouldn't ever have these kinds of OHK dps check mechanics. The whole point of dark souls, in a way, can be seen by soul level 1 no death runs. If you yourself play well enough, it is entirely irrelevant what gear you use. Alatreon, on the other hand, just creates an artifical timesink to grind for elemental gear. He is not beatable, at least without carting, without grinding for it. If I don't commit to the artificial timesink of grinding for a frostcraft greatsword build, for instance, I am literally forced to die to his Escaton Judgement. Terrible game design and completely out of line with what the game, or this action rpg genre as a whole, wants to achieve.
Just finsihed soloing it albiet taking 20 minutes. Some tips: 1) use safi armour. The elemental resistance is really helpful and also more importantly the evade window skill. Make sure you have at least evade window 3 to dodge through the attacks. 2) having said that, it is crucial to dodge alatreons attacks and counter immediately. Some attacks are really dragged out like the fire blast that expands outwards. If you manage to dodge the middle blast you will have an fairly good window to counter and deal dmg 3) no matter how safe you feel it is to just attack the hind legs, you HAVE TO aim for the head at dragon state. Learn the moves, dodge the attacks and keep landing your hits on the head. The horn will break sooner than you think. All the best hunters!!
I am so done with this fight right now. No matter what weapons I have used, or the rest of my group of used, we never manage to deal enough elemental damage to suppress it.
I’ve tried all day and still can’t beat him, the whole fight is setup to be as artificially difficult as possible, dumb dps checks, no switching weapons, hard to avoid attacks, and element switching
As a hammer main.....this fight with how many times it has killed me using sheer stupidity can get thrown in trash can and then added more trash on it then take it out to the side walk so I never have to deal with it again
Hammers and Greatswords are just given the middle finger in this fight. Had to built an entire Light Bowgun build out of the Alatreon gun using all the materials of my failed attempts.
I beat him twice so far, with one victory coming from a network glitch that made the judgment attack do NOTHING. Happened when the party leader and a random left at the same time while he started his OHK move.
"Alatreon is readying a big attack! Get your healing items ready!" *Intense Preparing to Chug Health Pots and Jerky* Has Fainted Has Fainted Has Fainted """"FUUUUUUUUU...!""""
That's on the first day. Now, during ESCATON JUDGEMENT, you all the hunters chug the health booster (x4) together then either start sharpening their melee weapon or cont hitting alatreon. Don't even bother to heal.
Pro tip: the first weapon you should make is the alatreon light bow gun. Its got 60 capacity of all elements and rapid fire on them as well. Bring some stuff to craft more ammo and you’re good to go. P.S.-safi beta armor is good with this weapon. If you wanna see my build for how I soloed alatreon just ask :)

Haven’t defeated him yet, pretty great fight though his elemental shift is pretty garbage to be very blunt. Edit: I really enjoy the fight but man without any victories thus far it’s actually rather draining after a while. Not demoralizing just, draining. Update: Just defeated him, first victory with three randoms then one left with just two which were two I tell you incredibly competent Charge Blade users! Hurray! And with next to no rewards! Good ole Alatreon!
Try following thid strategy while soloing. I beat him 3 times now (all solo cause teammates are shit) anf its still hard but at least you have a lot more control over the fight.
Stick to dragon and thunder weapons and be extremely aggro. His elemental shifts make ice or fire extremely powerful against him but makes the other person using the opposing element doesn’t contribute to the element dps check
I've fought him with ice when he starts in fire and broke his horn and everything and then he still switched to ice active late in fight and I became usless
This seems to be an additional DPS check put on the player. Basically, you can only reset his cycle twice, once for each horn, after that it becomes something of a race to kill Alatreon before performing a 4th Escaton Judgement. Ostensibly, Dragon element is an option, but I'd guess this makes the DPS check worse for most players. Probably better off bringing a couple of bombs or something to add to the DPS while using Fire/Ice.
@@ArtumTsumia, I am referring to TC XIX in SOLO mode. Dragon may be lower, but in terms of survivibility, its the most safe option for CASUAL player in SOLO cause it works all across element mode. On the other hand if you use certain element (ice or fire) and you fail to stagger the monster during certain element mode, you will be left helpless when he switch to other element which basically give zero element dps since your're ALONE. which will give you zero hope until he use his escaton judgement.
@@ArtumTsumia, I cannot count how many times I died from escaton judgement in SOLO mode because I dont deal enough elemental damage before he switch to other element since he has a habit of running and flying all accross the map hunting my palico , leaving me in complete disadvantage useless until he summon his ESCATON. this wont happen with DRAGON element weapon
here's what i planned (if ala starts with fire): use ice, and beat the shit out of it during fire phase. prioritize breaking the horns during dragon phase. once you do, continue to beat the shit out of it. survive the nova. rinse and repeat.
Super important thing to keep in mind about wall bashing: clutching on to his head when he isn't staggered or otherwise engaged in an attack will cause him to start a thunder attack move, which channels through the horns, either ripping through your Temporal, or ripping through you. Be careful, and don't clutch the head with Rocksteady.
No farcasters, forced elemental weapon usage with the horribly unbalanced elemental damage system in World, and an unavoidable nova that relies on elemental damage to weaken it. It's a trifecta of "You thought it was fair, but it was I, DIO! Er, DEVS!" The nova doesn't feel like I'm fighting Alatreon. It feels like I'm fighting the devs. The rest of the fight is great, but that Nova is cheap.
Just something as a tip consideration. If you play insect glaive, you can also consider bringing an ice weapon + fire kinsect or vice versa. that way you can at least some adequate damage even when its on the same element as your weapon.
Thanks for saying "These are the cards we have been dealt" instead of "It is what it is" Alatreon has upset me too much to deal with that shit phrase..
I just tried it for the first time before seeing this video and I felt so bad for everyone who joined my quest thank you so much you always help me out
Heres my setup. Build the Xenojiva LBG, the one that has built in spare shot. Youll have 2 ammo types, water and thunder. Use water when its in fire shift. Use thunder when its in ice shift. Use any agaisnt dragon shift. Youll have enough ammo for the entire fight since youre using 2 different shots. When you defeat it, make Alatreons LBG wich has 5 goddamn elements. Now use fire vs its ice mode. Use ice vs its fire mode. Use dragon/water/thunder for its dragon mode. After u get this weapon use it to grind for the other weapons Get full Safijivas armor it works wonders with LBGs. U get full blight resistance (lv3) easily. Evade window is godlike and easily upgraded to lv4. Get lv3 vitality , duh. Get crit eye lv7. Get crit boost lv3.
this is the clearest breakdown of the fight i've seen, definitely helps a lot! the elemental dps check sounds intimidating, but I guess it's good incentive for me to finally try out making an elemental build.
Me and my friends beat it with each having a gobbler jewel in the armor to consume the jerkys faster. we beat it first try and after farming it for a while we got all weapons max for further testing.
Alatreon has higher element hitzones on his legs (more on front) and takes extra damage when enraged. So if you knock him down with clutch claw in ice/fire make sure to aim for the legs (which is easy if you have short ranged small swords) and if you topple him in dragon aim for the head (but be careful not to trip up/launch teammates)
It is literally impossible to kill this thing with randos, I've been trying for hours and I didn't even come close once, that nova leaves no margin for error in multiplayer. I have yet to try to solo, I don't think I can do it though since as a LBG main I am forced to die to restock ammo, but at this point I have to give it a try.
I also main LBG and was wondering how I'd go about without beign able to restock. Made a pretty meme-ish build that would not need to be restocked or atleast very low chance to run out of ammo, called it the ''avatar''. I used safi + xeno LBG, frost charm(or blaze/bolt charm) and filled the rest in with bolt/blaze/frost deco's. Gives you atleast 3 elements which are boosted, 4 elements to shoot(5 if you count dragon). Setup was done in a 2 party hunt, damage was pretty even with DB friend. Afterwards I made the alatreon LBG (RF every element) and used it with the same deco's etc and got some solo runs off without needing to restock ammo.
Been seeing people on Reddit saying they got their first kill in solo. I had a similar experience with raging brachy, just couldn’t get a competent random squad and finally beat it solo. Also unlike Safi, Alatreon scales, so it would have lower stats/dps checks.. etc solo
I enjoy teo. But not Luna. And ruiner. And nami. Vaal and kush are terrible. Alatreon. Idk. I don’t have the proper gear for him as of now so I can’t reliably say. I have solo killed him once tho with beotodus charge blade.

@@Dangitbobby-KFP_Shaman With the exception of LS, Bow, LBG and DB, Raw still absolutely crushed Elemental on every single fight in Iceborne, by leagues - and the Raw weapons beat all of the Ele-based weapons too. Its legit only Alatreon that challenges this.

This is giving me anxiety lol. I always have had a challenge with Alatreon, mainly due to being a solo hunter. But I will have to get a team for this fella
Naw you can do it each monster in mh has a set of around 4-7 moves . The best way if you're starting the game out is go in a match and dont expect to win just wait and focus on every move set everytime they attack back up a bit and you'll see a lot of openings to a monster . Once you have the knowledge then everything is easy to react and counter to . Me myself is above average I say but was willing to defeat altreon the 2nd time with no problems because I remember every single of his attacks either by what I said or watch a video on the match . Today I probably got 220+ altreon kills helping people !
One thing I've discovered is that you should try and stay on its front legs. Many of his attacks have a long recovery animation (expecially when Alatreon breathes ice in front of him, when he summons lightning and when he breathes fire in a 180° angle), and if you're close to him you have some time to deal damage. Plus when Alatreon uses lightning (the attack where lightning strikes around him), they never strike near the front legs (for DB users that's a good moment to Demon Dance).
If you guys are still having trouble with this the fight is much easier with duel blades in my opinion as u can evade with a good and keep attacking afterwards. I managed to kill it a few times. Stick to his back legs for the most part and attack his head when he does specific attacks that leaves it still for a few secs. With the correct build you can really enjoy this fight. Good luck 👍
I threw myself at this thing so many times with randoms... Then once with a single friend. So my tip for killing Alatreon is: Get another decent player, or suck it up solo.
Its the Behemoth all over again, also as a Hunting Horn main, can’t I help mitigate the area damage he does? I mean I’ll say World has nerfed our songs somewhat, otherwise the his elements wouldn’t be that much of a headache.

I think we may need to make our grievances with this pattern of hunts known to Capcom. This spells bad precedent if they keep going forward with this type of artificial difficulty. I wouldn't even mind the DPS check move IF it had varying levels of power and it was practical to tank it or avoid it. However this shit they've started with Behemoth is not something I want in Monster Hunter.

Yea, the check requirements are just way too damn high. They expect you to run a near perfect build, but what if some people just don't have the patience and time to grind the shit out of Kulve or Safi, since both shitlords are tied to RNG???
This fight is amazing, except for this one mechanic. This one mechanic is so fundamentally broken and garbage under any standard of great design, that it single handedly makes the fight garbage. I cannot believe any thinking adult would come up with this insult to monster hunter.
I wish it had at least SOME mechanics reminiscent of the original hunt in Tri/3U. The Binders to keep it still and walls to pin its horns into (especially with how clutch claws cam be a great help there). I can understand the lack of binders, given the locale but not the walls at least.
@@Krimm664 you CAN solo it but its built much more for multiplayer; not as heavily as Extremoth but close. Especially when it comes to DPSing and keeping the weaknesses rotating
@@Krimm664 While yes, it is easier solo, being able to beat it solo requires the perfect build set up so that you can meet the DPS checks, and stay alive through the rest of the fight. It also requires more personal skill. And getting the perfect build to fight it, pretty much requires farming either Kulve or Safi, both of which are multiplayer content(Kulve can be solo'd, if you have a set capable of soloing Alatreon). As well as a shit ton of RNG for those deco's.
Tips: 1. Use a weapon that deals a lot of elemental damage. Thunder/Dragon elements let you deal balanced elemental damage during ice/fire/dragon attacks. Refer to the large monster guide for details. 2. Eat Felyne safeguard/insurance meal that gives your team an extra cart if someone dies. Grab a crystalburst at the camp. 3. Bring astera jerky and nullberries. Use Health Boost and astera jerky when the monster hits the ground during the super attack. You won't survive unless your team had dealt enough elemental attack beforehand. 4. I find Switch Axe to be the most effective melee weapon. I used power prolonger and focus skills (level 2). I keep attacking with elemental discharge while wearing the rocksteady and temporal mantles. 5. Try to knock the monster to the wall and break the horns. 6. Use good armor with Divine Blessing (Gold Rathian) and Health Recovery (Blackveil Vaal Hazak) pieces. 7. Once you get past the Special Assignment, the Event quests are easier to beat with better players. Good luck!

Ok after seeing this video and beating the quest myself now with my friends, still think this is a crappy mechanic to have in the game. With Behemoth and Safi there are work around but this none whatsoever.
Here are some other tips for everyone. 1. Do not grapple to Alatreon's head while he is casting an electric attack, *especially* while wearing Rocksteady mantle. Trust me on this. 2. Try not to piss off Alatreon early by smacking it in the face while grappled to it, will give you a shorter time frame for when you can yeet it into the wall. 3. Crystal bursts are a good way to keep flinching him and can help teammates perform flinch shots or continue comboing him. 4. If you haven't killed him after you smashed both horns, he will switch to the other element after the next Escaton Judgement. 5. When at camp, the surrounding color will help you remember which element you need to bring, if you see red down below then bring ice and vice versa, if everything is blue them take fire.
Right?! I have literally just reached the same conclusion. I really hate the direction of the new monsters, cause they are not making fights harder. They are making them more bullshit, and with that, taking the fun away from the fights, so I'm not wasting a single more second in this fight.

No, we tried all kinds of setups. We failed around 50 times. Then, With 2 ice and 2 dragon weapons in fire form it worked quite nicely. Now we use 4 alatreon weapons and farm him quite easely. But you need the muscle memory and knowledge about his moves. For example can you damage him quite good when he does his fireball. After the centre explodes dodge in there and say hello to his head. This is a paste from a comment I did somewhere else, I hope it helps:
Use weapons with high elemental damage.
Combat Tips:
1-During the fight try to stay near the front legs, it's the safest spot and has the best elemental hitzones.
9-Beware of physical attacks, those give dragonblight and knock you out easily ( Thats why you bring blight resistance and knockout resistance)
10-I recommended you to do a few practice hunts just to learn the patterns and get used to the flow of the fight. As a last piece of advice, please, do the hunt solo, it will give you higher chances of survival and it lowers the DPS check, plus Alatreon will always stay close to you.
Please ask if you have more questions or tell me if I missed something.
Good luck.

Came into this fight excited and now I just hate it
Me and some other randoms got past the 3rd nova but all sudden someone got killed and that's when I said I need a break.
Having to go through three novas is a bit much considering how hard it is to get through the first one.
Do it solo with a kkarr water or dragon weapon . It’s much easier .
@@AdeptKing you can kill him even before his 3rd nova
Alatreon makes me rage more than extreme behemoth in high rank did
Do note that breaking his horns will only prevent him from shifting to the opposing element for one cycle. If you dont break them after judgment before he does it again, he will switch on the next cycle. Since he only has 2 horns, you can only do this twice so make sure you take him out by the cycle he switches or else, you know what's going to happen.
Tnx

If you are struggling, try crafting Alatreons LBG. It can be crafted without needing to kill, you just need to break the horns and pick up shiny drops. The LBG rapid fires every elemental ammo, so you can build to make use of multiple elements, like Fire and Ice if you struggle to break the horns.

Some tips:
1) use safi armour.
If you manage to dodge the middle blast you will have an fairly good window to counter and deal dmg
3) no matter how safe you feel it is to just attack the hind legs, you HAVE TO aim for the head at dragon state.

I've fought him with ice when he starts in fire and broke his horn and everything and then he still switched to ice active late in fight and I became usless
@TC XIX use dragon
Having finally killed Alatreon, I can say that it is probably the least enjoyable monster I have ever hunted. The DPS check ruins it.
Must use elemental attacks and no far-casters? I smell artificial difficulty
You did not smell it. It's already in your nostrils.
This is stupid goddammit.
Pretty pungent.
I'd rather download 3 ultimate than fight Gary Stu over here
Like the old days of no restock.
No farcasters, forced elemental weapon usage with the horribly unbalanced elemental damage system in World, and an unavoidable nova that relies on elemental damage to weaken it. It's a trifecta of "You thought it was fair, but it was I, DIO! Er, DEVS!"
The nova doesn't feel like I'm fighting Alatreon.
Thanks for saying "These are the cards we have been dealt" instead of "It is what it is"
Alatreon has upset me too much to deal with that shit phrase..
^This.
I got the same sort of thing from the "Git Gud" crowd in the Subreddit for Monster Hunter World.
After u get this weapon use it to grind for the other weapons
Get full Safijivas armor it works wonders with LBGs.
Man the first step it's having top tier elemental gear
Answer: You don’t.
My first kill was with randoms. I guess it depends on luck.
Killed it on the second run with random, wasn't too bad.
@@Jaevwyn lucky you. 4 hours with randoms and nothing. and im in xbox so no asian players.
Been seeing people on Reddit saying they got their first kill in solo. I had a similar experience with raging brachy, just couldn’t get a competent random squad and finally beat it solo. Also unlike Safi, Alatreon scales, so it would have lower stats/dps checks.. etc solo

That’s all on you
This is giving me anxiety lol. I always have had a challenge with Alatreon, mainly due to being a solo hunter. But I will have to get a team for this fella
Same here. Luckily I'm all about elemental builds but the issue I have is having the right armor set to dish out the damage needed
You can solo him. But it takes practise,.... a lot! You also might learn more about his move set going in solo.
Good luck 👍
5 kills after almost 30 attempts, hopefully this guide can help me improve that ratio 😂

Guys, you should really try charge blades
I threw myself at this thing so many times with randoms...

Get another decent player, or suck it up solo.
Well said. 👍

Its the Behemoth all over again, also as a Hunting Horn main, can’t I help mitigate the area damage he does? I mean I’ll say World has nerfed our songs somewhat, otherwise the his elements wouldn’t be that much of a headache.

I wish it had at least SOME mechanics reminiscent of the original hunt in Tri/3U. The Binders to keep it still and walls to pin its horns into (especially with how clutch claws cam be a great help there). I can understand the lack of binders, given the locale but not the walls at least.

Tips:
Good luck!

Finally some useful tips, this is the best video on Alatreon I have seen so far, thanks guys.

No, we tried all kinds of setups. We failed around 50 times. Then, With 2 ice and 2 dragon weapons in fire form it worked quite nicely. Now we use 4 alatreon weapons and farm him quite easely.
