      @@Ubermeisteryyyyou won’t burn your house down, but you will damage your battery as it doesn’t have a low voltage protection anymore. You could remove the Milwaukee board and add a simple voltage drop board

    Great vac, mine started making loud noises and couldn't find anything wrong. Found your video but decided to not take mine apart since it was 3.5 yrs old and still under warranty. Submitted claim at the Milwaukee eservice site along with my proof of purchase (email from Home Depot I had ordered online). No problem. They even provide shipping label and they PAY FOR SHIPPING BOTH WAYS. Good news is they sent me back a brand new vac in the box with all accys etc. It was delivered to me fedex within 2 weeks of sending the old one. Sweet, they stand by their tools. KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS. BTW sent in my 8.0 Ah battery over the summer as it wouldn't charge correctly, only to 2 bars. They replaced that no questions asked too. Last, my vac was never used to suck anything wet so not sure why the motor went.

    Great video! Thanks, I will try this. Would you recommend putting an in-line fuse in the negative lead going from th switch to the motor ? I have m12 vac with same problem, uses 6 Amp battery. Not sure what amperage fuse to use. Thanks for any advice you can spare.

    • @hvacmadeeasy1788
      @hvacmadeeasy1788  Год назад

      Generally Fuses should be at least 25% larger than the maximum continuous current you plan to draw. Not sure of the running amp of the motor but good idea.

    What is the purpose of the circuit board if you can just bypass it

  • @kcretni
    @kcretni 2 месяца назад

    The circuit board is some kind of motor protection.(I think) You can temporarty jumped but not permanently jumped.

    Hi I'm now in need of doing this thx for your video. Question though I'm not electrician. Will this work if I'm using the HD 12 battery or will it burn out something. My brain keeps wondering what the circuit board is for. Is it to regulate power from larger batteries .
    Thx

    • @hvacmadeeasy1788
      @hvacmadeeasy1788  Год назад

      Is HD 12 battery meaning 12ah? If so it will make the unit run longer than a 6ah battery but it should be fine as long as it a M18 battery. Either way I think this vacuum is obsolete but you should try to use the warranty if they will acknowledge it. This video is really a last resort.

  • @wowchad

    This my fav vac, but watch your filter gasket b/c it’s not glued in so it’s prone to falling out which allows junk past filter & into motor which quickly trashes it!
    Mine works intermittently & I think it’s the overload protection circuit. Fingers crossed it isn’t over 5 yrs old so Milw. will fix it for free under warranty.

    Instead of splicing in the negative bypass you can just connect it straight to the switch by expanding and crimping it down to the switch so you can undo it and not void the warranty.

    Great troubleshooting! I believe the circuit board is what helps ensure you don’t discharge the battery to far and ruin it, no? If so, are you just making sure you don’t run the batter past 1 bar on the power meter or something?

    • @Ubermeisteryyy
      @Ubermeisteryyy Год назад +1

      This is NOT "great troubleshooting" It's the easiest way to solve things: bypass everything. I wouldn't do this, it's a fire hazard. The moror runs now, but it isn't fixed, just hacked, in a bad way.

    I thought I would get a suggestion to a "true" fix. This mod would likely kill your batteries, and you have zero protection against short circuits. Fire hazard likely. I won't do this to my machine. Do this at your own risk guys!!

    • @hvacmadeeasy1788
