I just came out of a cult. It was in a hair salon where the owner demanded everyone to be loyal while he exploited us with long hours, terrible pay, no breaks or a lunch hour. He is very talented, attractive, charismatic and extremely controlling. The salon is very high-end and has a very pretentious clientele. My cortisol levels got very high and I started to gain weight, lose hair and now have other health issues. The weird thing is… that the grooming happened quite slowly. The younger stylists hold on to his every word and run into his office to kiss the ring like he is some kind of a God. I had no time to exercise because my sleep was disturbed and I was so tired when I got home that I even stopped flossing. These people use coercive control and the chronic stress plus the lack of sleep breaks you down. It is SO TOXIC!!!

So sorry you went through this just trying to earn a living.💙 He sounds like my narc ex with the same tactics, especially chronic sleep disruption. I felt guilty if I wasn't busy doing something when he was around. Coercive control and subtle, slow death of the target's soul. He had no empathy for any pain I felt. 😡🤦🏽‍♀️ So glad I got out!❤️‍🩹💜💜

you did the right thing to get away.
That goes on I imagine in film, theatre, modelling too.
In other areas including unionised labour they can create all sorts of tiers and allow bullying and be behind a whole lot of secret- covert bullying.

I've made a promise to myself after I survived abusive manipulative, toxic parents. I will avoid these types of people: People who attempt to take autonomy away from me. Try to make me believe that I can not help myself and that I am incapable. Expect from me to give up my individuality and surrender or be submissive without question, - indefinitely. Making me believe that I am indebted to them or owe them my possessions or life. Creating an immense fear that I am doomed for eternity if I do not conform to a certain believe system.

There are rules for thee but not for the narcissists. They will tell you to stop socializing with so and so and if you disobey, they will claim you've betrayed them for associating someone they hate. However, if you bring up the slightest criticism about any of their friends: "HOW DARE YOU SPEAK ILL OF MY FRIEND!" Even if their friend is an obviously horrible person, they will take any criticism as a personal attack. The narcissist will also claim you're being controlling if you tell them you do like one of their friends and suggest they not associate with them. But they will try to micromanage your relationships because they know better.

OMG that sounds like my husband's family. Everyone knew his mother was a functioning alcoholic and yet she was the leader of the family. She was absolutely ridiculous but typically what she said and thought governed the entire family.
We all walked on eggshells around her. She domineered all the major holidays and got visibly upset of I wanted to spend time with my family for the holidays.
I was also very blinded by my husband. He made me focus on his mother as the problem. Meanwhile, telling me neither he nor his mother were to blame for their behavior. His mother because he always blamed the alcohol and him due to his faulty memory and learning disorders.
These people are insane and it seems like since my husband's mother died, he and his sister have taken on their mother's demons and slightly more of her behavior. It's frightening.

THIS!!! Im so sorry you went through that too. My abusive ex's father was a cult leader who "dissapeared" and has assumed to have murdered his girlfriend, daughter (my exs half sister) and himself in the outback.
I was with my ex for 2 years and he abused me to where I couldn't sleep/ eat due to being constantly in survival mode.. it's taken another 2 years to get the ability to properly eat and sleep back. He would play the victim and beg me not to go every time I tried to leave. Covert narcissism (and bipolar) with a sociopathic side, I thought he was going to kill me in the middle of the bush after he abused me and left me out there with no reception, his maniac smile and cold empty eyes getting joy out of watching me be so helpless and losing all my power to him said it all.

    • @Suedetussy
      @Suedetussy 19 часов назад +2

Yes, SMOOTHLY abusive. That’s the word!
My sister‘s boyfriend is liek that. He flies under the radar, because everyone finds him so calm and nice. He‘s also very kind to my sister.
But to me, he shows a different face. I look kind and gentle. That’s why he thought, he can act out on me. I proved him wrong by immediately putting him back in his place. He managed to make my sister and her daughter believe that i am an aggressive person and overreact.
Thankfully, my parents believe me, because they connect all the dots: my sister is domineering and he subordinates to her, because he loves her, doesn’t seem to mind, because he’s always calm and quiet. Now this story has twisted for my parents: he seems like a ticking time bomb for them now, someone, who doesn’t voice his opinion, but eats up his anger and takes it out on peoplelike me, who he mistook for weak (obviously, he thought gentle = defenseless). They’re kind of proud that i gave him a lesson: people, who, appear gentle, can kick your ass, when you cross their limits.

My abusive wasband’s father was a “minister”. He was a very skilled and very educated on all of these tactics and at 21 years old- had no idea who i was really marrying and did all of these tactics. When you begin to wake up to what is going on- people to know that you do not ever confront them but make plans quietly to get out if you can. If they think they are losing control of you- your life will become a living hell. The amount of recovery needed from this is unsurmountable. We need recovery centers for this abuse

Came to watch this as a survivor of abusive relationships. As an Ex-Mormon, my alarms went off with so many things he said. After I left, I realized it was a cult. This only validated all of my cult points about the Mormon church. The old 15 men in suits who run the cult (Prophet and Apostles) love to say “Doubt your Doubts”; ‘Don’t question church leaders even if they are wrong!”; told to “Stay in the boat”-don’t wander astray; always told not to hang out with people who didn’t believe like you (Utah REALLY used to be very cliquish); still practice polygamy in that men can be Sealed to more than one woman in the Temple. It goes on & on.

The reason that victims don’t come forward is simply that nobody believes that these crimes happened to them as they sound so crazy that people just label the victims insane themselves, especially police. And most people will actually be as stupid to go back to the cult and confront them hoping to get an honest response, resulting in converting the victim into the cults #1 target and which then mostly will get the actual victim k🔪lled by the cult members or a 3rd person who could be influenced by some lies they made up about the victim that seem to be true but aren’t. So as long as people aren’t thinking as individuals but as part of a seemingly higher groupthink mindset, they will easily be converted into unempathetic even ice cold psychopaths as this is the outcome of every single group out there that places the leader above the individuals to make them better in something or as someone in the underhand exchange of their own personality. (This behavior is the exact behavior that all Cluster B people use to gain narcissistic supply or in other words „human energy sources“ as their life batteries… the more the better for them. Please educate yourselves about this topic through people working in the field here on YT even if there NPDs themselves and not any random victims of NPD abuse. Then you’re able to save lives out there. Soo many people are victims of their abuse, you wouldn’t believe it. 🥺

Hey Lisa girl, thank you another badass interview.
Sadly, his opening statements about questioning a leader when you feel they're wrong, and you get attacked either by him or the other people in the group, is what I see everywhere on social media.
I have finance n investment patreon groups I belong to like that w "teachers".
Ive had so called world renowned leading dating coaches like that in masters classes.
I have astrology apps w like that, where the group think is dangerous if you disagree with one of the "leaders".
I even see it in different RUclips channels content creators when you disagree or ask a question that may contradict the content.
It's come to a point where you have to be so careful what you say online nowadays. Who you talk to nowadays.
What groups you belong to nowadays.
Because what he's describing is not only found in domestic abuse with intimate partnerships and their cult like families....
But you find it all over social media groups and apps. Even down to your neighborhood and community Social Services human resources, and political, and judicial groups.
Cult like leaders are infiltrating the fabric of every institution across the globe.
And that's just the reality of the situation.

By that I mean, female curve? The female body needs it to function hormonally. Great pod casts. Great guests... 🤗

You are so sweet and kind to give me advice and I really feel and appreciate it. I do think my extensions are hurting it so I’ve cut back on that. Unfortunately though I’ve had massive gut issues for 9 years now and it’s very hard for me to eat too much so I e had problems putting on weight because of it. I do try to eat good food though and am working on it. Also I am 45 years old my specialist has pointed out that I’m going through a hormonal change too. Thanks again for being so sweet! 😍

@@LisaBilyeu I went keto many years ago now due to metabolic syndrome, stage 3b kidney disease etc etc. Overweight by about 3 stone. Within 3 months of coming off all prescribed meds , by myself, taking Dr Jason Fungs advice, I have never looked back. Weight is now permanently controlled, and all issues I had are gone. I was diabetic too. I am much older than you, (70) last week. If I had continued on the path I was on I would be telling a different story. Your age has problems hormonally as you say. Not nice. Keto allows you to eat many foods without any problems. It might work for you? Give Dr Fung a try... You never know? I think one of his famous lectures was called, The two compartment problem. .... I wish you all the best and hope you manage to sort out the issues you have. By the way, you look much younger. Love your videos. Thank you too for replying. Take care. 🤗👍

A guy I was so into and thought he was enlightened and was looking at him the way this guy describes… I later discovered was just a narcissist :(
He became extremely verbally and emotionally abusive when I started saying no to what he wanted. Luckily I was no physically by him but the scary thing is that I even considered the crazy, controlling demands he stared making… I am very lucky I got away from him. He was so incredibly hard emotionally. The trauma bond was very very strong in a short period of time.
He creeped me how one time before it turned bad when he mentioned the term grooming… I was wondering why he even knew that term since he was from India…. That and he said a few times that maybe he would end of being a famous guru. That country is FULL of narcissistic cult leaders abusing people under the guise of spiritual leaders.
He may be famous one day or have some following but I sure hope not.

I definitely disagree with the speaker about Christianity. I think it’s clearly a cult and I suspect that your very kind, very knowledgeable and thoughtful guest is not applying the same standards to Christianity. He seems to have a blind spot and is protective of his own beliefs. I mean this respectfully and sincerely.

When you are vulnerable because you hate yourself so much and want to take your own life and see no meaning in anything anymore that’s when you should be keen about people’s words and their true intentions.
Jehovah, Mormon, Scientology, Lutheran, Catholic. All these different people coming to me while I was walking alone and depressed as a child from school to my home. I’m angry I didn’t do more to tell them off but I wasn’t listened to much at my home or school so the small attention was nice. And I was kind to them. I didn’t understand at the time why these random people picked on me to talk with but I know now I was just very open very over sharing of my feelings and my words to them. And they gave me exactly what I wanted to hear. I don’t know why it didn’t work on me but I asked them so many questions about their faith at the time I didn’t like much but I enjoyed Buddhism and asked them why their religion and not another. And their own words fumbled when I asked more and more questions. As a South Park fan, I think I really got the Mormon and the Scientology group bent when I questioned about those things to them and I was just a kid so I could tell they were upset.
I’ve had many different people tell me about how I should just join into a church to find meaning in life. I tried and wasn’t too hard pressed in the meaning.
Even remember how the online had weird adverts for me. as an add telling me if I’d give up now then might as well give up for a good cause by joining the military. These types of adds online were given to me at my lowest when I was 11 years old and inside online forums back then that probably picked up on my search cookies about finding ways to end it. That type of manipulation by advertisers, government, church. It preys on those with a weak drive like my own. I don’t believe I was mindful about it at the time. I still wanted to play my video games and that’s what helped push me to stay around longer because I was just a kid still and Kingdom Hearts and anime were the things keeping me grounded. Lol ain’t that funny?
Now I stay alive for my parents and my partner’s well being. That’s what matters right now while I’m still lost and struggling to stop those intrusive thoughts. I have to really stop myself when I’m walking alone while watching videos on RUclips. I’m a prime person for a cult to sink their claws into and I know I am. I’m an idiot for most of the day, but at least I know how predatory people can be with very miserable idiots like me.
Be careful out there. People are not your friend when they ask you to give up things you enjoy and love. For me, it’s still video games and still family that keep me grounded. It would be logical for me to pull my own plug. But I don’t.

    • @SkarGig
      @SkarGig 2 дня назад +1

yes many AA groups turn into mini cults. When I was getting my SUPD-t, I never fully entered the field after finishing my counseling degree because these "sober saviors" aka people who "beat" addiction and then become rehab counselors (because many states are set up in a way that funding creates this pipeline of addict to rehab counselor) always seem to still be actively addicts who love lording over addicts who haven't tricked the system yet. They lead these sobriety groups, treat anyone who breaks their rules or stands up against their hypocrisy as a social pariah, and it goes to their heads. They will seriously kick someone out of what is often their only existing friend group in sobriety for missing a meeting or saying something "wrong" but then do a drug deal in the back or do some K in their car and pass out for a while before their addiction studies class starts et cetera. I could not ethically agree to go into the business of rehab counseling knowing more than half of my coworkers would be hiding active addiction. hope my words make sense wishing all a safe day❤

I think its hard to discern lack of empathy when you are in these situations. In many, if not most cases the empathy that you are due is being wtihheld because your toxic person has spin-doctored reality to shift the blame of whatever issue you are having to either be your fault, and will completely invalidate whatever loss you experienced. If your narc was screaming at you and causing a huge emotional Hiroshima before 8am and you went and got into a fender bender on the way to work because you were so upset, this will ultimately be an embarrassment to them and reason for them to leave the relationship (temporarily) because you are just so inept. How could you be so stupid? Didnt you see the brake lights in front of you? I should've known you would go and do something stupid like that to screw up my budget. I just can't carry your dead weight anymore. Or say, your parent dies and you tell your partner you need to make final arrangements, batten down the hatches because this is when the toxic person will breadcrumb evidence of an affair, pick a fight on the day of the funeral, have a bad attitude and give the silent treatment and claim you neglected them, spend all the necessary travel money on sugar babies and then when your card gets declined at the airport on the way to the funeral, they will toss out some extra loud horrible comment about your accounting skills and how you are always so unreliable. Then once you arent able to attend because your account is $1,000 overdrawn, they will abandon you and say youre too emotional. Once you find out about the sugar babies they will justify it and say you were a horrible emotional mess and you've pushed them to finding attention elsewhere. All of these scenarios could happen on the same day and then they will dump you because they deserve better. This is doubly true if you have children, they will weaponize them as well to ruin you and then blame you for being pitiful. It actually becomes a situation where they deserve the empathy for surviving you.

Well, I must be the uneducated dummy that made it all the way up through my 60s that can't be persuaded by pressure from any source, knows how to weed out the propaganda, actually speaks up where a lot of people fear to tread, and lives a very independent and satisfying life. Of, course my family always described me as a loner. That didn't persuade me to be one, but it is almost an innate trait. I always felt different because of this and I have always been suspicious of the cliques, the groups, the governing bodies. The cult tactics he describes are something that have always perked my ears when I found out very early on that I could spot them.

They will be the ones running this country using the poor Democratic candidates down the primrose path. They will be worthless after this is over like Kama was worthless before they found someone like Biden who stood in line to be the pawn. She's 2nd pawn in line. She would have never won a Democratic primary and the Elite knows that but then again they are the abusive leaders. And they don't think it matters
Please don't make the biggest mistake of your life by choosing these people to run your country. Kama never has never run this country in any way and she won't even if she is elected..be careful.

Christianity is not religion. The Bible is a genealogy of the Adamites and gives 759 laws God wants obeyed. Judeo-Christianity has mistakenly suggested that Jesus will "save" everyone. That is not true. Christians were admonished not to teach their beliefs to others, however the tribe Interferred and spread dogma and outright lies.
