I always find it disingenuous when people call the AD5M a bambu clone when that specific design has always been their "thing". With that being said they did fix that connection issue and even released a phone app.
You missed a few other things:
the sovol x coprint multicolor system for the sv08 (and sv06)
    flying bear 3

    Formbot's Marathon IDEX

As someone who mostly prints engineering parts, I love that prusa is finally taking a swing at making a printer to achieve those materials at a really good price. I think its gonna be hard for formlabs to sell people on the idea of a $4500 msla printer that is material-locked to boot. I've always wanted to try/own one of their machines, but its hard to go that route and be locked to only them for resins.

    • @erikcederb

I am just quite surprised it's a delta. Those things are so painful to caliber since every point on the bed is a different combination of movement of 3 motors. If 1 motor is lower quality or one belt gets looser, its practicaly impossible to get precise and consistent dimmensions on prints.

Grant...Flying Bear Klipperized the Reborn series before you did, with the release of the Reborn 3. If I weren't so captivated by the idea of having an IDEX machine as my next printer, I'd give the Reborn 3 a very close look. Definitely would love to see more info on it, though, as it seems like it was just released very, very recently and nobody seems to have even made a first look or unboxing video, much less a proper review.
Speaking of IDEX printers, the RUclips algorithm pushed me into videos from a couple smaller channels on the Vivedino/Formbot Marathon. It's an enclosed 330x300x290 mm printer with dual print heads that can hit 320˚C, Orbiter extruders, a 120˚C bed, Klipper, a temperature-compensated SuperPINDA ABL probe, ball screws, linear rails, and a rather unique motion system where each print head has its own X-axis motor running on the same fixed belt. All for less than a janky Snapmaker J1S, at $1,269 (at least for now). YGK3D interviewed the printer's designer, Dr. Dan Marinescu, in a video from a few months ago , though he sadly did not press the dude on why he put the damn spool holder on the back. Silly spool location aside, the very little amount of info I've come across on this printer over the last few days is truly fascinating, almost as much as Formbot's total unwillingness to use content creators for marketing purposes.

I guess, there might be some surprises later in this year with printers no one thought about. That‘s what makes the 3D printer evolution such a nice area. Hope, you‘ll just review the list at the end of this year. Your list is interesting and I agree with your ranking. Some printers like the Qidi printers are missing though. The problem with such rankings is that every list looks different, because they always depend on subjective aspects and properties. Your list is very helpful, because you nicely explain your ranking. Thanks a lot for the video.

IF they can deliver, and that's a big if, on all their promise, it's an S tier easily. However, they are new to all this and want to do everything in house. That's dangerous. I watched an unboxing of the T300 and while the lack of a crossbar makes it look interesting in a space, having to engineer the bejesus out of it to maintain rigidity results in a machine that goes right past heccin chonker and into chonkasaurus territory. The base on that thing is freaking enormous, so it's going to eat up a ton of space, and it feels really unnecessary. I guess they're going for a market segment that wants eye appeal and has the shop space for it, and good on them if they can find those customers that'll pay a premium for that, but it's not for me just on practicality vs what you're getting functionally.

There are two things on the arco that bother, one is that it has 4 damn lead screws on a single stepper driver. So no qgl and you bed mesh will look funky, even if you have a perfectly flat bed as a not leveled gantry has the same effect as a crooked frame. Maybe its leveled enough from the factory, but now that two, three and even four point bed/gantry leveling is getting more common (see qidi q1, twotrees sk1, sv08), it would be a good thing to have it too.
The other thing is the embedded bed. This about halfs the heat emitting area of the bed. Good for saving electricity on pla, sucks for abs. I asked on a video from slice engineering about chamber temperatures, they only said at least 10c over ambient. They could have said also nothing and i would know about as much as before. But same goes for the sv08, it has also a shroud around the bed, so it might not be as successful or as reliable as another core xy printer at printing abs and similarly more demanding materials.

Orca Slicer is also available and runs amazingly. I've had one issue with mine where i didn't fully click in the hot end/nozzle. It dropped during printing, dug in and snapped the hot end before it stopped itself. That was my mistake, not the machine. Ive printed PLA to CF Nylon to PC with no issues. I've actually spent a good deal of time thinking about my 3d printing wants and needs. Zero interest in resin printing so that's a start. Zero interest in multi colour printing so that minimizes the selection more. So I thought more about what do I honestly use my printers for and it is 99% functional/utilitarian stuff. I have multiple bed slingers already and they do what I need but I would like a high speed core XY. So that narrows down my options quite a bit. But then I thought about the other side of printing and took the printer out of the equation...slicers. I use Cura as I really do not like the layout/logic prusaslicer uses. But I gave orca slicer a serious try and I HATE it. So illogical on it's layout. Have to dig for too many options. Such a complete PITA to get setup and I still couldn't figure out where many of the common options I use in Cura are and I outright refuse to have to watch videos just to figure it out. I actually had to do a search to figure out how to change the filament settings. I don't want a preset profile for ANY filament. I want a base profile that I can adjust each setting for EVERY slice. This is dead simple in Cura but orca slicer seems to actively dissuade you from doing this.. Then I thought that if it is based on bambu slicer (or bambu is based on it) then this means ANYTHING bambu related is off the table. I do not care how functional the software is, if it is setup so poorly and illogically that it becomes actual effort to use then I will NOT use it. So it seems that of all the options out there the SV08 is the ONLY one I would even consider...in about a year once it's been out for a while and all the suckers, I mean first adopters, have chosen to pay to be beta testers.

I have 2 nextruder parts included with my MMU3 (i'll print my own parts) kit. They were included because the nextruder main plate wears out too quickly. They MJF helps it (even PCCF wasn't good enough). They didn't say if it's a permanent fix if these are consumables. They also said many nextruder parts are not good enough and PCCF is required to help with that. So they included ALL the nextruder parts that have anything to do with the mmu3. The main plate is MJF and everything else is PCCF.

The Saturn 4 does not share the tilt vat with the Ultra.
The Flashfogfe AD5M Pro was regularly selling for about $400 on Amazon.
Nero's printer was a one-off on the idler gear pin issue; he even confirmed that on Twitter.
Given my bad experiences with the K1 Max, I'm hoping Creality gets the K2 right. What Sam told me at RMRRF has me even more hopeful.
The Comgrow T300 is interesting for not having a top crossbeam, but that price is a deal breaker.
I have faith Peopoly will get all the kinks worked out of the Magneto as well.
You know how I feel about Bambu, and we're on opposite ends of the spectrum on much of that; but I respect what you've said and done relative to them.
The AFS is the direction Prusa is heading, IMO. I see them moving away from the consumer market given all the strategic aquisitions/decisions over the last three years.

The V3 plus is an automatic A tier. You just have to keep in mind that Ender 3 and Ender V3 series is not the same thing. Not even close. It should really be called the Ender 4 line. The SE, KE, and Null are all fantastic printers. I've been recommending them like crazy and the number of issues I see in the groups have gone down mainly because people aren't pulling out their hair trying to level their printer or set the z-offset (it's why I refuse to recommend the sovols now). My personal favorite based on price and features (and only reviews since I don't have them), is the KE. I feel like the Null is over priced. But......There aren't any large scale V3 printers......until now. I've seen people that turned down their nose at the KE because it wasn't big enough only to get a crappy elegoo or something with the stupid bedsprings and I want to say every time, "don't come complaining when you can't level it".

I'm wondering if anyone is going to try to compete with the prusa MMU3 + mk4 combo. The claim is because of the way they develop the tips on the mk4, it leaves less filament behind. Therefore it requires less purge (about 30%) than normal. This is on top of the fact that the MMU tries to not cut the filament. Bambu always cuts the filament. Apparently bambu is now pushing for a slight retraction before cutting, but it means the mmu automatically wins assuming it performs. I've been heard everyone sing the praises of the MMU3. Even people that hated the MMU2. I'll know very soon. It's about 75% assembled. So when I see phrozen copying bambu my first question is are they trying to compete with the ams as a like for like or the prusa mmu?

I can also remember something like a new printer, "new flagship" printer as a reward for a makerworld contest or so. So either a second gen x1 or a bigger x1 or even a combination of a second generation and bigger than the x1. I personally dont think that there will be a straight up enlarged x1 due to how expensive the tooling of the x1 is. Steel stamping tools are amongst the most expensive tools available together with forging and injection molding tools, and the x1 needs several of those including a entirely new assembly line for the frame and motion system. Since the x1 is getting 2 years old, it would be time for an update, now with the competition catching up

The v3 is fast very fast not x1c or k1c fast but fast none the less. My only grip is it seems the z level is just a slight bit too close to the bed. Also I have taken it to heart with bambu taking data I personally will never get one. Though I do not have a print farm or need a secure printer I do not want any more data then has to be out.
