Print quality looked ROUGH on the K2 Plus. I'll give benefit of the doubt that it's trade show issues with people opening and closing the door and such, but come on. Creality really needs to not half ass this printer. The K1 series has so many design flaws, especially the extruder. The Elegoo Centauri Carbon looks like it could be good, but why the dark glass? Come on. If it can run stock Klipper and it's open source that's still a huge pro for me over Bambu Lab. Price definitely matters, because right now Qidi is my top choice for sure, and I doubt Elegoo will change that. Great coverage in general! I'd love to see more pellet printers too. Def want a scanner soon as well.

I've had my PRUSA XL up and running now for about 2 months and while it's certainly not for everyone because of the price point, the ability to do large one piece prints for cosplay is a true game changer. The only other printer I've ever owned was a PRUSA i3 Mark 3 that has 3,800 hrs on it and even though I did full Mando, Bo Katan, Dalek and weapons like the Amban pulse rifle and heavy infantry tri barrel on it the increase in capability of XL is hard to comprehend. I have started a full Halo MC armor build and the first thing I did was print the helmet in one piece. My Mando helmet was 9 pieces. If you can afford it the 5 tool head XL could be the last printer you'll ever need if you're a cosplayer ...

  • @digiscream

The Elegoo Centauri certainly looks interesting - my problem with them has always been that they absolutely swore _blind_ that they weren't going to make a bigger Neptune 4 printer, so we all bought the standard ones, and then...boom, 4 Plus and 4 Max a few months later. So...won't be buying the Centauri Carbon, I'll be waiting for the CC Plus. Hell, they might even beat Bambu to building a bigger P1S.

    • @blazet9860

I can confirm that the big printers from mingda are workhorses, I've had one since November I think I got it, and it's been wonderful, I've found if you create a custom profile on orca, it prints amazing, and it's so very easy to print with different sized nozzles on it. Only things that need doing after you get it out the box and out the gantry on is just to tighten up the leadscrews. I have the 400mm³ magician pro and it's perfect for helmets and other cosplay props in 1 or 2 parts

Hey Frank, First there was amazing to meet you at Rapid TCT, And I definitely checked out the Miraco, it's pretty cool that it's all in one.
When I watched your video you mentioned how the K2 Plus at the event was one of the original units that they made. So I'm guessing that explains the layer lines that we both noticed. Hopefully that gets fixed before it's eventual release to the public.
Anyway I had a question about scanning. You mentioned how you can use it for your cosplay and I was wondering is there a way to leverage a 3D scan of a person into armorsmith? Or is the idea that once you now have a full 3D scan that you may not even need armorsmith? Anyway wanted to get your thoughts on that.
Great Video and thanks for sharing

3d printing companies need to stop using tiny radial fans for chamber and aux-like fans. This needs to stop. If possible, even the part fan could perhaps have a slightly larger fan by redirecting the airflow. Even just increasing the radius of the fan by 10-20% you'd get an exponentially higher airflow or as we are interested in - the same airflow with lower RPM/decibels.

Surprised on the comments of the anycubic kobra 3. Their AMS is already ahead of Creality’s AMS. The anycubic material system has active heating which is perfect for water soluble printing with PLA. For the price of ~450 you get an AMS better than the flagship Bambu and better than the new gen creality CFS AND a 3D printer. Many reviewers said it used less filament than bambu’s AMS aswell. Also open source…

If I'm being honest, all this copy and pasting is dumb. It seems like Prusa is the only company doing their own thing while Elegoo, Creality and Bambu are chasing each others coattails.

Unfortunately prusa isn’t. They are but not in the hobbyist realm. Bambu is the leaders now and everyone else is playing catchup. Prusa needs to fix there whole model to compete bow

Nothing really new out of that, Sam Prentice made a few videos about the k2 but it's cool to see it in use like that. There's a few nice things coming out hopefully that should work it's way into consumer grade stuff. However the kicker would be a 300+ bambu now that's worth more info on.
