Fits in my HP Elite Desk. 😂 Bought it used and it had the wrong size bracket on it so I had to cut it to size so the video card could be properly grounded.
"The 1650 sucks!!!" *Some time later, everyone tries to buy one because there are no gpu* 1650: "You couldn't live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me."
I have this card in a tiny desktop with an i5 10400 and it's really surprisingly capable. I did have the high temperature issue you mentioned as well. Was running in the 80s like yours. I tried alot of things to get it to run cooler and ultimately I figured out that the mount for the heatsink just doesn't make good contact with the gpu die due to weak mounting pressure. I pulled the heatsink off and repasted it with fresh thermal paste and then I put some 1mm thick plastic washers on the back side of the board under the screws with the springs. That put more mounting pressure on the heatsink and knocked 10-15 degrees off then of the high temps for this exact card. Hope that helps someone cool this thing off.
You should make a video if your up to it so people could see it in more depth, honestly great tip but not a lot of people are gonna see it in a comment section.
For size its a titan..but quite honestly with low profile systems having basic i series or older core 2 series it will play anything your processor can handle.
@@cityspawn1326 I searched for 2 days for mine got it for 155€ and it was last one. I'd sell and buy 1660 super if u can fit it in your case, I'd get pcie x16 extension and cut stuff out to fit it and build external PSU with thick bundle of cables.
Most reviewers only look for performance and price, and forget about different use cases, which makes their reviews irrelevant for real life. We need more reviews like this one!
Good point. I went to a used PC store the other day looking for a cheap used office PC, like the one in this video. I ended up walking out of the store with the PC plus $20 in my pocket. He was so desperate to get rid of it, the guy paid me $20 just to take the PC off his hands, lol ;).
Thank you man! Finally someone who does a proper review on it! I have this card and I'm tired of people calling it trash. It's the best in it's category and plays games on 1080p high 60+ fps for a really decent price. Thank you for the honest and genuine review.
I ended up with a GDDR 5 4GB version of the GTX1650 and even now, 2 years after your video, it still performs really well even in more modern games. I guess with the GPU shortage, it has lasted longer than it may have done previously
there's really nothing else to compete with the low profile 1650 for sff machines. amd's 6400 is weak compared to this as the even weaker rx 550. both of which have low profile variants. Wish amd would step up and make something to really give the 1650 and a2000 some competition.
@@snoflahke65757 month old comment but there's now the 3050 6GB to replace this, low profile version of it is pretty much the only version that makes sense.
@@lemagreengreen yes i have seen it. its about the same price the 1650 was when i bought it. It looks good. Wish i had 200$ to spare. If i get 200$ i need to save it for cats dental work.
Thank you so much for this content. It is so incredibly reasonable. A true breath of fresh air. Mainstream tech tubers all make a lot of assumptions about the use case of their viewers. Obviously this is a niche product, but some people have niche use cases. What if I want a very low power rig for the back of a big rig truck because I'm a truck driver? Or maybe I have limited electricity on my sailboat? Or maybe I (more likely) just want a stealthy upgrade for my office PC.
The full size 1650 also has an advantage in the Optiplex/OEM upgrade scenario where you don’t have to pay for a better power supply like you would with the 570. When most videos compare the prices of the two cards, the necessary PSU upgrade is usually left out of the discussion. That being said, a $120 RX 570 plus a $40-$50 PSU, still has it right about where the 1650 is priced. In general I think the 1650 gets a bad rap though, because there will always be use cases for low power cards and Nvidia seems to be the only company committed to making decent ones at this point.

If I am able to play Half Life Alyx with it in low settings like I have, I'd say its a damn good low budget card. The good thing about Alyx is that it is so well optimized that it looks great even on low settings. I have the GTX 1650 4GT LP OC version.
I just came across your channel - very good, thanks! By coincidence my 'daily driver' is the exact same system... with an i7, as much RAM as it can take, SSD's, and an artist's monitor. I agree the GTX 1650 is way too expensive but for my use case it was the best I could do... I did consider botching a full-size card in to the machine but as I have no interest in modern games and the 1650 is more than up to the emulators I play with when not 'painting' I just couldn't be bothered. "Get a larger case you idiot!" Where's the fun in that? Besides I have lots, I want the smallest PC that serves my needs at a price that won't make my wife hit me - right now you'd have to be an idiot to flush away good money on the latest hardware unless you have absolutely no choice.
This was literally my first system minus having the DDR5 Version of the card (and still do because of the market right now) and a smidge more ram I think 12 GB for whatever reason.
Im stressing my 180w psu with one of these. So far so good. Picked up a 7040 sff, i7 6700, 16gb ddr4, 1tb nvme, zotac gtx 1650. 180w psu. Im able to run most games on any settings, only thing I really dislike is the operating temps of both the cpu and gpu.
I have the eagle version of this. Gigabyte gtx 1650 d6 eagle 4G to be exact. Can boost up to 2050Mhz and 13500Mhz memory oc. Runs decent on high to ultra settings at 1080p(average 58-75 fps depends on what game you're playing)
This video is excellent! I somehow acquired this card and likewise installed it in an M93p (along with 16GB of additional RAM & an SSD). It's a little gaming beast that honestly punches waaaaaay above it's weight. Cheers!
I literally have this gpu and I like it, it runs the games I want but the temps is the only frustrating thing about it, other than that it's pretty good
I needet this two years ago back when i was running my heavily modified KDE Neon workstation. I wanted a nice looking MacOS looking workstation but didnt want to pay a buttload for a overpriced mac mini or whatever. Now i make more money so i did pay a buttload for an overpriced macbook pro.... shoot me..
This card really does set a high standard for what can be done with a low profile card and actually makes turning 10 year old Dell optiplexes into something of a decent gaming system. Only problem is like all graphics cards they are hard to get a hold and when they are available they are going for a huge increase in RRP.
i actually got a GDDR6 version with a ryzen 5500u on a laptop , surely it won't be as powerful as the pc version but still it works quite well on overclocked , normal laptops have pretty shitty cooling system but my acer aspire 7 surprisingly has a very good cooling system , normally without overclocking i get hardly 35°c on maximum performance , but when overclocked(both gpu and cpu) it doesn't go above 55°c which is still good i guess right? specially when I'm using all of my ryzen 6 cores on 4 ghz i get 55 fps on average on Rdr2 on balanced preset , 40 fps on 1080p medium in CB2077 , i Thu just mentioning cyberpunk is enough to get the idea 😂
Last year, before I realized how important the GPU is, I got a $1,500 prebuilt Dell XPS. It came with 32GB of ram, an i7 11700K, and a GTX 1650 Super. I was able to play Planet Coaster at 4K30 Medium. Good times. I upgraded to an 2022 HP Omen with a RTX 3080 when I realized that 30 fps isn't good enough to record smooth rollercoaster gameplay. The 1650 is good if your on a budget.
Be aware that your motherboard supports it, I also tried it on an HP SFF pc with an i5-2500 (non-K) and the best it supports is a GTX1050ti. The GTX1650 did not work, it did work with my HP Z230 SFF i7-4790 (non-K.)
indie soul 👍 must be specific per board then. Could not get it working on a Lenovo SFF with Sandy Bridge cpu nor a HP with the same generation Sandy Bridge cpu. Work immediately on the HP with Haswell.
Just managed to get a 1650 for 140GBP this week, looked on amazon and the exact version of 1650 i have is going for £289 so im pretty happy with it either way
Unlike the GT 1030 this card can actually game I have the gigabyte GTX 1650 in a Dell omniplex small form factor case and it works quite well don't be fooled over The limited power draw of the motherboard with limited Watts it's still will utilize the graphics card power and is a better option if you have a bit more money to spend compared to the 1030 right now is probably not the best time to buy one but wait a while and the prices might go down I bought mine right before covid hit and even then it wasn't MSRP price it was $40 more I bought it around $220
My first PC was a Sandy bridge SFF Dell with 1030. I was very pleased and for the time I made it, it could run pretty much everything. We must remember that people who buy make such PCs don't really care about high and ultra settings. Now, if I would buy such system, I'd take 1650 of course

Thanks bro. I just bought these cards for my i7 10th gen SFF PC. Will try the fix now.
You should make a video if your up to it so people could see it in more depth, honestly great tip but not a lot of people are gonna see it in a comment section.

there's really nothing else to compete with the low profile 1650 for sff machines. amd's 6400 is weak compared to this as the even weaker rx 550. both of which have low profile variants. Wish amd would step up and make something to really give the 1650 and a2000 some competition.

Ajá but this card consumes 300 watt, and a dell 7050/7040 of small factor has a 180w power supply, how can i do in this case?
The 1650 is actually a really good card for how small it is.

"Get a larger case you idiot!"
Where's the fun in that? Besides I have lots, I want the smallest PC that serves my needs at a price that won't make my wife hit me - right now you'd have to be an idiot to flush away good money on the latest hardware unless you have absolutely no choice.
This was literally my first system minus having the DDR5 Version of the card (and still do because of the market right now) and a smidge more ram I think 12 GB for whatever reason.
