      you're definitely on the money. Part of the reason the Eavy Metal style is the way it is (or at least was back in the 80s) is because all the old catalogue photos were in black and white, so they needed to paint with bright colours and really sharp edge highlights in order to make the models look good in B&W. If it looks good in the magazines then people are more likely to buy in

    Dark Angels are my alltime favorite faction and I've been a huge fan since third edition. I really wish GW would do away with the Red Bolters and go back to Silver/Black.
    If you look at the 1999 Dark Angels codex, that's what they should look like. They started putting way too much red into the designs and just made it look corny.
    Regardless, watching you paint is a real treat. You have an amazing amount of talent. Thank you for this video.

    I’m a Grey Knights player and I just recently completed my army. I took my time and it took over a year for about 65 models…. And now I just keep watching Dark Angels videos. That green looks like magical or something once you edge highlight it. Friggin Grey Knight edge highlights are barely noticeable unless you look close. Even chrome on shaded GK steel or iron hands steel isn’t all that visible. I put chunky highlights of stormhost silver before the chrome and that helped, but still looks nothing like this!

    Hey Dave! Quick question, seeing you subassemble, what glue do you use to assemble the mini itself? I know plastic cement is almost a must on the base-body connection, but what about the rest? Is the ability for the plastic cement to ruin the paint worth the risk? Or is super glue more recommended for the mini? I cant really figure out which is better and my current economy doesnt let me "just f around and find out"
    Much appreciated!

    • @InfernalBrush
      @InfernalBrush  11 месяцев назад

      Hello, you can use either super glue or plastic glue. However if using plastic glue it's best practice to scratch the paint slightly at the connection point or mask it prior using blutac/masking tape for a stronger adhesion. Also be extremely careful with thinner plastic glues like Tamiya extra thin as it can run over the paint work if not careful, I normally find using a thicker plastic glue applied with a paperclip/piece of wire, the same can be done for superglue. This minimizes the risk of mistakes or getting glue where you don't want it

    • @InfernalBrush
      @InfernalBrush  Год назад +1

      I recommend getting a couple of Kolinsky Sable Brushes of different sizes. Whether that's Rosemary & Co Series 33, Winsor and Newton Series 7, Artis Opus Series S.There's a ton of other manufacturers too but these are ones I have personally used and can recommend. Try out a few different sizes and see what works best for different tasks. Brushes are quite a personal thing but I think most people will see an improvement using one of those over a cheaper brush/synthetic. Also getting some brush soap and trying not to let paint get into the ferrule will prolong the life of the brushes and help you keep it in good shape for months/years to come.
