    I bought a set of these after seeing the ads for them on Facebook. I delayed and delayed thinking they were kinda cheap looking. I was WRONG! These are the best thing I have ever done for my shoulders and allowing me to go from barbell to dumbbell bench! Love the Mad Spotters!

      HAHAAHH bro that made me laugh. Honestly I was talking to home gym hacks and I mentioned these are mainly great for floor press and a weight that’s not meant for 1 rep max. Maybe for a more higher rep range. Nice on the shoulders and more energy for not having that lift off

    I have a pair of these from when they were made by Country Power. Maybe 5 years ago? Anyway IMO it’s a great product that’s very durable. I actually prefer them to dumbbell spotter platforms because of space and how easy it is to put them away when I’m not using them. You can also use these for Farmer Carries unlike with spotter shelves.

  • @davidlakes5087

    The difference between the two is that when you use the original, the j hooks are a bit floppier when in use, since they only have that thin rod running parallel to the handle. Use of the wrap is more or less required on the original.
    The pro version, however, has that knurled cup running the whole length, so it’s far more stable while in use. The wraps are designed to be used around the dumbbell only, and then the wrapped dumbbell goes inside the cup. Unless your dumbbell handles are super thin, the use of the wrap is totally optional. You can switch weights quicker without the wrap.

    • @LukesGarageGym
      @LukesGarageGym  Год назад +1

      Makes sense!!! Which one do you like more??

    • @davidlakes5087

      This is the best I can find:
      Our hooks are compatible with ~99% of dumbbells in the market. If you want to make sure, measure the handle length and handle diameter of your dumbbells. Handle length should be 4.5" (114 mm) or more, and handle diameter should be 1.25" (32 mm) or less.

    Excellent video! Good balans between speaking and showing. Also great informative. now only less or no pictures with (way too much) text. viewers can simply read that information via the product link. in this case, less is more. If it is really important information in your opinion, just tell it briefly in the video and refer to the link for more information. Saves you a lot of work during editing and is much more effective and pleasant for the viewer too. but again an excellent video. Very good job Luke! 12 points from the Netherlands.

    I have the 90lbs pro series powerblocks and thinking of selling them to get some adjustable up to 50lbs only to do hitt workouts. I was thinking of getting these loadable handles titan or rogue or something cheaper to use with the mad spotters hooks when doing heavier weight since I have shoulder pain. With these loadable Handel's I can use my olimpyc 25lbs plates right? Is there any downsides or restrictions as using 25lbs olimpyc plates with these handles while bench pressing, shoulder pressing etc..??

      BTW: The Mad Spotters don’t work well with Ironmasters. The the Mad Spotter handle holders are too small. They kind of work, but I am not confident that the Ironmasters will never fall out of the holders. The spec’s provided by the manufacturer are accurate and Mad Spotters should not be used dumbbells with handle diameters bigger than the spec’s.

      Kinda disagree with this as light weights are easy to manipulate, my issue ( as a heavy dumbbell presser ) is the initial getting into position as I’ve never mastered the leg lift sort of thing. This puts shoulders in a compromised position ( for me) . Just an opinion but nice review 👍

      @@dominikadamus5053 Frankly I've only attempted to use them once. I unwisely tried them with the heaviest dumbbells I use and they felt so unnatural in my hands, I didn't even attempt a rep. I immediately hooked them back to the bar I had them hanging from. There is a "half pipe" metal portion that sits between your hand and the dumbbell handle that feels very awkward at first. I need more practice with lighter weights before I try again. I got them for my home gym which hasn't been set up yet. I experimented with them at the public gym I attend. I will update again when I have more practice with them.
