Like the person below , I bought these years ago in the UK , know as power hooks . I’ve attached chains to mine via carabiners and attach to the chin bar on my rack . Saves me from lifting them from the ground . Really helped with heavy dumbbell pressing especially with my lower back injury .
I am glad to hear you like the Power Hooks version. 🙌
This channel is going to go far
I really appreciate that! Thank you!
Appreciate you sharing these items with us. Those Mad Spotter Hooks look really cool!
Thanks so much and I appreciate your support!
I have some arthritis in my left thumb and wrist, I immediately bought a pair of those round fitgrips, will keep you posted!
Please do. I am very interested to hear how they work for you.
I keep seeing those hooks. Really like them! It’s a pain throwing up the weight when it’s heavy. Great video!
Same. I saw a similar product years ago and then I went about 15-20 years without seeing any thing like it. Glad they are making a resurgence.
I appreciate your attention to detail concerning the bar diameters (to fit the Mad Spotters).
Thanks so much! Mad Spotter has come out with 2 new editions since this review and each edition is better than the next. I have yet to get around to reviewing the new hooks with the knurled grip.
Great video as always! Hi, i recently bought the powertec levergym station which is older version. I just want to ask that is the new version of powertec attachment fit the old version of powertec workbench.
Thanks so much! Yes, all of the new attachments should fit the older model Levergyms / FID Workbenches.
Thanks for the video. I'd like to get a set of the hooks but I don't think they'll work with my Powerblocks.
Thank you! I don’t think the hooks will work with Powerblocks. Maybe someone who has both will chime in.
the mad hooks can be used to stack dumbells together !
That’s pretty cool!
Have you used these for decline DB presses and decline DB flyes with your ironmaster DBs and Super bench PRO with the crunch attachment? This is the main reason I’m considering purchasing these
I have not tried that exact exercise, but it should be good.
those mad spotter hooks look really interesting. With my elbow/shoulder issues that might help me out a lot. Only issue would be mentally getting over NOT getting the dumbbells into position on my own which I think is part of the appeal/workout..BUT again..i might look into those..Thanks
Thanks, Mike! I understand what you are saying about the psyching up process.
I think they would be good for you, because of your shoulder issue and because your gym is on a hardwood floor.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews yeah..they are an option for sure..do you really feel comfortable using them? Easy every time to put back on the bar without fumbling with them? Seem to hold your BIG weights really well OR just "ok"..Cause if i get those ill for sure put my 100s on them and try shoulder presses lol..
They hold the big weights great. If you get them, start very light and get comfortable with the grips before going heavy. They take some getting used to because of the increased grip diameter. Just be careful OHPing 100s 😉
Have you tried the new Pro version of the Mad Spotters yet?, ordered a set a few days ago, I'm in the UK so may take a week or 2 to arrive.
Hey William! I have them and did some testing, but I haven’t used them for an official heavy workout because I’m letting my shoulder heal and leaving the dumbbells alone for chest and shoulders. I like the contoured, knurled grip. I have seen some people use them incorrectly. For this model, the Velcro wraps go around the dumbbell handle rather than the hook.
Do the mad spotter hooks have a decent grip? I'd be worried about missing the knurling of my dumbbells lol
That is the trade off. When you put the strap around the hook and the dumbbell, you lose the knurling.
It takes a bit to get used to the added feedback of the strap, but I don’t regret the purchase at all. These will allow me to do fairly heavy dumbbell work in my spare bedroom without worrying about damaging the floor.
Can you use the hooks wituout the grip and just use them to unrack?
No because there is a metal bar that runs parallel with your dumbbell handle.
Hello!
Could you write what is the thickness of the rod used in these handles ?
Is it 6 millimeters or 8 millimeters ?
Thank you
Hi. I’m sorry, this is one of my older videos and I don’t have these anymore. Also, the design has changed twice since this video.
Отличные приспособления и для света и для гантелей ..это тема для двух разных видео
Thanks so much, My Home Fitness Idea. I had to put that comment in a translator 🤓
It gets even better with hanging Hooks, including a chain and a coil (feather). Made and sold by Peter Baers here in Germany. Called 'P.I.T. Hooks'
I just looked them up…very cool.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews Yes, and safer also...
I mean a spring...
@@Torben118 after watching one of the videos, where I saw Kevin Levrone…I knew what you were talking about. 🙌
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews I remember that Video about his visit in Peters Gym. If I remember correct, Kevin got a pair of the hooks for himself..
Tried those lights didn’t work great for me in my basement cause of low ceiling. But did work better in garage. But my gym is in my basement.
I am really glad to hear they worked in the garage.
Hey those yellow grips aren't linked?
Hey! They are in my LinkTree. Click on the cylindrical grip that is showing in my Amazon store. Once on Amazon, slide over and they should be there. They are listed at 1/2 the price I paid.
I bought those hooks and (sadly) do not care for them.
I was hoping to get rid of my dumbbell stand, but the hooks make the dumbbells unstable. With the Velcro pieces, they also dramatically increase the diameter of the handle and make the grips unstable.
Thanks for sharing your take on the product. It took me a few times to get used to, but once I found my rhythm, they feel good to me. I can understand why they won’t be for everyone.
Does the mad spotter also work on the ironmaster dumbells?
Yes…and the new Mad Spotter hooks work with the heavy handle kit. You can see them on my RUclips short.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews awesome!!! Thank you!!
@@sagerkoheel3068 glad to help!
How much Kelvin are these Leds?
6,500 k
By any chance do u knowi where can I return the mad hook spotters??I been sending emails to company simxe Tuesday and no response yet
I am sorry to hear you want to return them. I just checked their website and there is a form to fill out or an email address. Have you tried filling out the form on their website? You could also try sending them a message through any of their social media sites.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews uea I filled out the form on their website and left them a message, also emailed them, also sent them also sent them a message on facebook
@@futbol1972 I think you should hear something soon. If I may ask, what didn’t you like about them?
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews I did hear from them. They were just busy. They have a great customer service and a great product. Too bad it did not work out for me:(
With those new lights your going to realize your red bench is orange😂..could you use those grips on a cable to use as a ball attachment?
Uh oh…lol!!!
Yes…as long as whatever is on the other end of the grip is bigger than the grip’s hole (a big carabiner for example).
I bought POWER HOOKS many years ago and they are the EXACT same design. Seems like a lawsuit to me.
The old company is out of business.
Did you like the Power Hooks?
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews i like the concept but the bar under the velcro strap really dug into my palms so i stopped using them.
After talking with a couple other users, that seems to be the deciding factor in liking the product and not liking the product.
I give Mad Spotter credit because they told me not to hold back on my review and give my honest opinion even if it’s unfavorable.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews thats good of them..i even tried it without the velcro but its hard to keep the hooks from moving.
