I first came to a olympic weightlifting gym at a very young age. All they were letting me do was barbell squat and it was multiple reps with 3-4 x my bw - around 120 kg. That's why I went there on and off quitting it eventually. Let me tell you that one's performance with weights can be very random. At some point in your life you won't lift an empty barbell despite your overall strength and health and it's normal

Yeah I never saw that, usually it's an upper arm break, a twisting of the bone because your shoulder gets away from your body and you look away from your hand and the pressure ends up going on the bone behind the tricep. A pro bodybuilder did that against Devon Larratt at an expo and Devon stopped arm wrestling amateurs at expos. But man, I had no idea you can actually snap your forearm in half????????? You gotta keep that elbow tucked into your body and pull up and back. Then use your entire body to pin. But you don't aim at the pad. also the bodybuilder was using that incorrect form so she had less access to her power, the guy was a bit tighter and able to get different muscles to help. Bodybuilders are way too strong to armwrestle with bad form, the spiral break only takes a few lbs of pressure applied wrong.
Yeah. My husband doesn’t do steroids. Well, at least at this point. He did kind of a challenge. My husband is super fit. But doesn’t necessarily look like a body builder. Just athletic build. But he destroyed these guys at the gym. He was a special operations guy in the military. They all look normal but can excel jn so much. He even did a lawn mower pull with 100 pounds, this body builder looking guy could barely do 80. My husband got 7:40 in the 2k row. He did the rope pull faster, did the most squats while holding 45 plate, and did the most reps on 135 bench. I do stationary bike. But he told me what was going on and made me watch at the base gym.

For those who are interested. The arm breaking thing in armwrestling typically happens above the elbow below the shoulder as a radial fracture from body positioning. If your hand is in a line with both your shoulders… you’re about to get wrecked (possibly) . You have to lean back and pull your hand to your chin and rotate so your back is kinda going towards the ground. You can “ press” but your arm should be in front of your chest, not the side of you.

I was in Nepal thirty four years ago and in the mountains I came across two little old ladies carrying huge bundles of firewood on their backs. We got chatting and I was given a challenge by one of my mates to see if I could carry the firewood the way they could. Well I was very strong and fit from a job that was pretty physical and had been training at the gym regularly for a couple of years. So I accepted the challenge. Long story short, no matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t get the load of firewood onto my back. Those two ladies after much giggling at my attempts then quite easily lifted the loads onto their backs and continued on their way. Years of hard work have made those two women strong in a way that the women in this video would never be , men for that matter

@@kshere it was the fact they had the technic and the strength of a lifetime of hard work and we were in the Kathmandu Valley, not high up in the mountains. And yes the higher you go the more one needs to acclimatise to the altitude

The women would probably still win as these are very strength and technique specific tests. E.g. my landscaper benches 225 for a couple of reps. I can get 7 or 8 reps. (he goes to the gym with me). However, I tried to help him on a job and I couldn't hang with this guy for one hour trenching water lines trimming trees, etc in the Sun at +100 deg temp. For work that uses many other muscles he destroys me and his endurance is far better, but in the gym I can lift more than him.

I was in Nepal thirty four years ago and in the mountains I came across two little old ladies carrying huge bundles of firewood on their backs.
We got chatting and I was given a challenge by one of my mates to see if I could carry the firewood the way they could. Well I was very strong and fit from a job that was pretty physical and had been training at the gym regularly for a couple of years. So I accepted the challenge. Long story short, no matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t get the load of firewood onto my back.
Those two ladies after much giggling at my attempts then quite easily lifted the loads onto their backs and continued on their way.
Years of hard work have made those two women strong in a way that the women in this video would never be , men for that matter

The women would probably still win as these are very strength and technique specific tests. E.g. my landscaper benches 225 for a couple of reps. I can get 7 or 8 reps. (he goes to the gym with me). However, I tried to help him on a job and I couldn't hang with this guy for one hour trenching water lines trimming trees, etc in the Sun at +100 deg temp. For work that uses many other muscles he destroys me and his endurance is far better, but in the gym I can lift more than him.
Those dudes are too fat and would have heart attacks trying something physical. Just because they work outside doesn't mean they work hard.
