yeah. that car accident to Cam in 2016 and Luke having that major concussion really sealed it. Could of done something in 17 if Gano didnt miss that 29 yarder. (yeah we lost 31-26 but if he hit that we just kick a 46 yarder with 20secs left) I think we could of beat the Vikings but the Eagles were too much. Jags also should have made it to the SB in 17. Anyways, back to the point. We probably could of gone back in 16 if Cam and Luke didnt get concussions, the entire dline, 4/5 of our starting oline, and Shaq Thompson, Kurt Coleman, and Bradberry being out.
@@FlyHenryFly the car accident was in 2014. Plus losing the leadership of veterans like Charles Tillman and Jared Allen hurt as well. And it also didn’t help that the refs let defenses tee off on Cam Newton with immunity. They wouldn’t have allowed that crap on Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady, that’s for sure.

As a Packers fan I was super worried when they rested their starters before the Giant killers game, and it unfortunately didn't work out as a strategy. I'm not sure what to think of it, but with how easy it is to get injured I think the pros outweigh the cons
As a Packers fan, over-resting has been a horrible strategy for us. Look at how awful they looked week 1 last year against the Saints after virtually no starters played a single snap in the preseason.
I think if your playoff chances are so locked in that you can rest the starters the last two weeks you should give your starters some reps in the last regular season game, with some preseason-like directives for protecting themselves. Ideally you'd want to do this in the second-to-last regular season game so if a player gets a short term injury they should be available in time for the playoffs, but if you have a bye and the opportunity to rest starters for two regular season games, you're talking about almost a month they might not be playing at game speed at all--football is all of five months if you go deep into the playoffs and you're off for seven months. I definitely think taking your starters out for weeks 17, 18, and the playoff bye is a recipe for disaster, even among the most tightly-honed and hard-practicing teams.
Why not have them play a half or even just a quarter in those games? Then that way they’re sharp enough to shake off any potential rust and they wouldn’t be a rusty team for too long at least. They’d have a balance there so they don’t have to necessarily catch up very much to game speed.
I really think this is one of the coolest videos you’ve done. It’s awesome seeing the trends and changes to the league and the teams that were good. Plus it’s crazy seeing how drastically things can change in the course of a season
I was 8 during that chargers colts game in ‘05. A brand new chargers fan, surrounded by colts fans in Indiana. That Michael turner run will stick in my mind forever, one of the few games I remember before the Rivers’ era.
I wonder if there was anyone on that Packers team that year that played well in their shocking playoff loss in 2011, yet still received unfair blame from fans. Sadly, following the Ravens shocking playoff loss in 2019, Justin Tucker (plus a few others) received unfair blame, and I hope you weren't one of them, Nikaohar.
@@anthonyterry8162 Yes I love seeing these glory days. We have paid a price though 9 out of the last 10 seasons. I really need to see some Giants winning again.
Yeah, the Giants are giant-killers -- they're the franchise that prevented my '49ers from making good on their promise/hype to be the first NFL franchise to 3-peat after winning SBs XXIII and XXIV, but it was instead the G-men who represented the NFC in SB XXV against the Buffalo Bills (in their first of four consecutive SB appearances)
As a life long Dolphins fan, there's a whole lot to love about this video. Also as that same life long fan, there is a special place in my heart for the NY Giants. I'll root for the Giants any time they are not playing the Dolphins.
Being from CT, I grew up in a family that rooted for both the Giants and the Pats. I was salty for years after the 2007 SB but now I just get a kick out of it. Love to both teams.
Going undefeated is a cool idea but a lot of times that first loss helps more than it hurts. It takes that pressure off to complete a perfect seasom and brings the team back down to earth and shows them they can be beaten so they still have to put in the work. I've seen many teams get cocky and complacent and next thing you know they're losing to bottom feeders they thought they could run over.
This is exactly how I thought about the 1985 Bears. I would rather see them lose one game in the regular season than lose in the playoffs, and that pressure to perform at a perfect level has to be crushing, even for star athletes.
It is, it jus goes to show the recipe belichick can’t do anything about . Power running , and big long pass rushers who push the pocket . Historically, Brady has always had problems against teams who can keep him off the field by running the ball and big long pass rushers who get in his face and knock him off his spot
Ahh yes, thanks for reminding me of the Packers 2011 season. They almost had me convinced they were going back to back. Then we played the Giants at Lambeau in January. I already had PTSD from 2008. Got to add another game to the flashback basket. Ive been stuck watching the 2010 NFC Championship Game and SB 45 highlights for the past 12 years.
You think that's bad? Trying being a Bears fan who watches mostly the 1985 games! LOL. Seriously, though, I get where you are coming. And there have been a couple of games where I thought Green Bay got screwed over.
KTOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Love your vids man and always look forward to them. I like how end every video with a highlight. Hope ya feel better and keep them coming!
3:00 My Dad is a Rams fan (as am I) and he told this story about how he punched a hole in the wall of his childhood home after a Rams game. It was that 1969 Divisional against the Vikings.
I think resting your starters is a recipe for disaster. You need to have them play at least half the game so they don't get rusty. Take them out the second half. If you lose then you lose. But testing them for weeks and weeks is bad and will put them in a bad mental space.
11-0 is undoubtedly the most painful Steelers moment since their Super Bowl XLV loss where they nearly came back from an 18 point lead. I can't remember a thing about Super Bowl XLV, because I didn't remember a Super Bowl until Super Bowl XLVIII. The most painful moment I can remember was the 2018 collapse from 7-2-1 and a 6 game win streak to 9-6-1 and missing the playoffs
As a Colts fan, 2005 against the Steelers broke my heart. The guy that returned the fumble was Nick Harper, a pretty solid cornerback for us for a couple years. Fun fact: the night before the game, he got stabbed in the thigh by his wife during a dispute. He may have scored if he hadn’t gotten stabbed.
Damn I ddnt know that .. I’m a Steelers fan btw .. I was a little kid at the time when the bus fumbled I was literally in tears haha And Ben got that shoe string tackle.. the stabbing is telling considering he got caught by Ben
A team that almost made this list is the 1990 49ers. They started 10-0 before a loss to the Rams in week 12. They are another excellent team that fell victim the the pesky Giants.
To be honest as a Steelers Fan that 2020 season shocked me when WE went 11-0 before folding especially folding in the playoff game against the brownies 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
I remember in preseason 2011 reading sports illustrated and they predicted that the Packers would start 13-0 and their only loss would be to Kansas City and would finish with a 15-1 record. I kept that bold prediction in the back of my mind as the season went along. After week 11 many experts said the Giants would be the only team left on their schedule that could beat them. After the Packers won a dogfight on a walkoff field goal, everyone thought that it would be smooth sailing to 16-0. And then came the Kansas City game. Everyone except me in my football pool picked the Packers to win that game but I remembered SI's bold prediction 4 months earlier and took Kansas City. Sure enough, SI's prediction was right. It made it so much sweeter when my Giants played against them again in the divisional round and won soundly.
Thank You Thank You THANK YOU! The 'football team' didn't play in '91 the 'Commanders' didn't play in '91, Tha Washington Redskins played & Dominated opponents in the 1991 season. That team solidified a Hall of Fame coach & counted Hall of Fame players amongst its roster. Thanks for showing homage & enough respect to properly address them in past tense. #HTTR Forever💪🏿 #NanitokeNation stand up!
The fact that my 2009 New Orleans Saints are the last team to start 11-0 & go on to win the super bowl so far gives me at least something to lean back on... for now
Panthers did go up by an insane amnt of points to seattle, seattle started to come back, than panthers closed it out. I was at that game, it was a blast!
I can tell you why the Steelers collapsed. The team peaked early and was exhausted because of the week 4 bye week aswelll as a bit of an easy schedule.
easy sched - also I think teams figured out during the season that 8-9 man fronts blow up running plays, but you can also use the same formations against the pass when your QB is a corpse who can't throw it 10 yards downfield.
That 1991 Washington team they showed at 8:18 was very dominant, and haven't been good since. Same thing goes for the Detroit Lions team Washington beat in the NFC Championship Game that year. The Lions win over the Cowboys a week earlier is the only Lions playoff win over the last 64 seasons.
The whole "resting your starters" thing is overblown. Just as many teams do well after resting them than do poorly. It's the playoffs, so anything can and does happen. I remember in 2010, pundits were saying Colts lost the super bowl because they rested their starters in week 16 and 17... although they made the super bowl and lost to a team that also rested their starters lol.
Great video, didn’t think you were ill at all which shows good work. Kudos for calling Washington the Redskins in your video. It was their name, it is a historic fact.
@Fries considering the Steelers went all the way and won all of their postseason games (besides that Colts one) by 2 scores minimum, the Colts likely go all the way and win it all. In Payton’s limited action against the NFC champion Seahawks, he went 9 of 12 for 116 yards. His backup was 22 of 31 for 237 yards and a TD. They likely gash them through the air and that takes Alexander out of the game, forcing Hasselbeck to win it with his arm. The only QBs that typically win a shootout against Manning are guys the likes of Brady and Brees.
I think if you are in such a good position with your record after 15 to 16 weeks that you have locked up a bye week, you have to rest the players a bit. I would still have all of the starters begin the game as normal so that they stay in rhythm but no one would be playing longer than a half, and my QB would be out after 1 quarter. I would treat it similar to preseason.
I agree. People make a big deal that you shouldn't rest the players. The Colts rested players. They lost in the Superbowl. They didn't lose in the divisional round. It's no excuse. The Pats didn't rest players and still lost in the Superbowl.
Been a steeler fan since I was 3 years old. That 2020 season we had absolutely no business being 11-0 I still remember claypool bragging on Twitter about never losing and I just knew something bad was going to happen that year at some point and right off the bat vs the browns in the first playoff game that snap that flew over bens had already sealed the game for me and it just started
I think if you just rest your starters for one game it’s fine, but if it’s two or more then letting them play at least the first half is probably best. Even with the injury risk it’s still worth it to not make your players rusty
As a long time Eagles fan I watched Andy Reid "rest his starters" multiple years before playoffs and then lay eggs in multiple playoff games and NFC championship games. The Giants have proved that a team with momentum rolling into the playoffs can beat the team with the best record and stats.
@@ChiefBlue4298 not every playoff appearance since 2012 against the Giants it's been some games in which they failed to even get the lead against teams in the playoffs
The Giants were also extremely close to ending the Patriots, Packers, and Panthers undefeated seasons. All 3 of those games ended with the score 38-35.
For the 07 Patriots, wished you had mentioned that they beat the Giants in wk 17 but barely with a score of 38-35. I remember that game well since it's the only one that I know of that was broadcasted on almost every network that broadcasts NFL games.
NBC and CBS also televised it with the NFL Network. Fox didn't televise it probably because of the rules at the time of the AFC road games being on CBS, and NFC road games on Fox.
3:15 Earl Morrall had a really weird career, being a journeyman backup QB who somehow earned 1st team All-Pro honors TWICE following an injury to a Hall of Fame starter. He even won NFL MVP after taking over when Johnny Unitas went down.
As a Panthers fan that 2015 season was something special and just so great with a heartbreaking ending but I'll still always cherish it as a fan, I live like 20 miles from Charlotte and just everyone was so happy and it was the happiest I've ever seen fans of this team.
The Miami victory over the Bears in '85 to kill their perfect season was a stark difference to the previous year when a phantom Defensive Holding Call against Ronnie Lott came at a critical time in the game that enabled Pittsburgh to retain posession and kick the winning FG and end the 49ers shot at an undefeated season. In contrast, Miami kicked the Bears ass in the Bears only loss. It was nowhere near close as the score indicates. There wasn't a time watching that game did I think Miami wasn't murdering da' Bears And Da' Bears were lucky they didn't play Miami again in their super bowl. The 49ers were robbed against Pittsburgh and well, Miami was a better team in '84 than the following year when they beat the Bears. So the 49ers dismantling of the Dolphins in SB XIX counts as the bigger of the two games. Both owned each other in each's championship year. But had they not called holding on Lott on 4th down they stopped em. 49er ball, and as Duane Kuiper says, This Game Is Over!
Maybe. I think the Dolphins would have had a decent shot at beating Chicago again, but the question is whether the Dolphins would have been able to adapt to the Bears' changes to their defensive plan against Marino. You are absolutely right that the Dolphins kicked our rear ends badly. The score was 31-7 at half-time. But one of the reasons for this (and I give Shula all the credit in the world for this) was because he took advantage of Duper against WIlber Marshal (I'm pretty sure that was the matchup; I remember it was a WR against a linebacker but don't quote me on this), and they were able to score several times on this. In the second half, Ryan made adjustments and the Bears rebounded, outscoring Miami 17-7 in the second half. But as you said, it was way too late for them to come back. Still, I think it would have been interesting to see what happens on a neutral field where neither team has a fan advantage. It was still fun, though, and I'm glad for the one we have. And I'll be honest, I share Gary Fenick's sentiment that he saw the Miami game as a wakeup call, and they took themselves more seriously after that game was over. If the Bears had gone 16-0, would they still have swept through the playoffs like they did, or would they have gotten tripped up? Given what I saw in their attitudes before the Miami game as opposed to after, I'm not so optimistic.
Everybody wrote the Saints off that year. All we kept hearing is how good the Colts are and that we hadn't faced a team all year that was as good as the Colts. I saw only one person in the media pick the Saints to win. To be honest though. I think if the Colts had stuck with the run game, you all would've won. We couldn't stop Joseph Addai in the first half but I think the onside kick and then the score coming out of the half putbthe pressure on. Good game. One of the best Superbowls
6:34 Fun fact: William "The Refrigerator" Perry is actually from my home town of Aiken, SC. In fact, we have the same high school alma mater, Aiken High School. He even still lives here.
The good news is that the Giants are unlikely to be playing an 11-0 team this year. The teams that they will be playing after their 11th game are the Commanders twice, the Eagles twice, the Vikings and the Colts.
@@thomascusack687 the Giants are far from playoff competition, the only team they would have a chance of beating are the Commanders. The Eagles and Colts would easily cakewalk over them
It’s so weird to me how historically having a dominant regular season also translated to dominate postseason but now it seems like it doesn’t matter at all
Now if he brought up teams that went 9-0 or 10-0 way more teams would probably have won the SB but yeah those giants defenses were really impressive in the two runs held other teams to 13 PPG and not one team scored more then 20 on them for the 8 games they played
Thank you so much for saying the 1991 Redskins, and not saying football team or commanders call because that’s not what they were back then, unlike all these other channels that try to be do-gooders and say so (*kerhumph* TPS)

Sooo true for the packers, lmao
Why not have them play a half or even just a quarter in those games? Then that way they’re sharp enough to shake off any potential rust and they wouldn’t be a rusty team for too long at least. They’d have a balance there so they don’t have to necessarily catch up very much to game speed.
I really think this is one of the coolest videos you’ve done. It’s awesome seeing the trends and changes to the league and the teams that were good. Plus it’s crazy seeing how drastically things can change in the course of a season
I couldn't imagine starting 11 - 0 and failing to make the playoffs. That's just amazing.
2015 Cam Newton with a solid Defense was unstoppable. Long drives that ate up tons of clock and a defense that created tons of turnovers.
I was 8 during that chargers colts game in ‘05. A brand new chargers fan, surrounded by colts fans in Indiana. That Michael turner run will stick in my mind forever, one of the few games I remember before the Rivers’ era.
As a 2019 ravens fan, I understand the 2011 packers pain.

@Fries it's like you know if it was a best of 7 series it surely wouldn't have gone 7
BTW, I called that Titans win vs Ravens! Sorry, u got two rings to my 1 though. Imma Hawks fan.

Great video ideas KTO! Love your creativity. Always interesting, always keeps me engaged
As a Cardinals fan, I’ll never forget Ken Wisenhutt’s final year as our coach. We started 5-0 then went on to finish 5-11. It was pain.
Tom Brady's statistical outlier of a career is so extreme, that the same (sort of ) Giants team was able to upset the Pats not once, but twice.

When Eli had his O Line right, he was lights out in the playoffs
Eli needed either a defense or an oline. When there was at least one of these, the team made the playoffs.
They weren’t a good line in 2011, though I loved Diehl and the rest. The 9ers abused them in the playoffs. Was a miracle Eli and them won that game
KTOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Love your vids man and always look forward to them. I like how end every video with a highlight. Hope ya feel better and keep them coming!
As a Giants fan since birth, this made my heart happy.
That giants catch against the broncos stunted my childhood. It took me until the Superbowl to get over that one.
3:00 My Dad is a Rams fan (as am I) and he told this story about how he punched a hole in the wall of his childhood home after a Rams game. It was that 1969 Divisional against the Vikings.
Love your videos man! Keep it up!! Also, the last song you play in all your videos gets stuck in my head all the time and I love it!
I think resting your starters is a recipe for disaster. You need to have them play at least half the game so they don't get rusty. Take them out the second half. If you lose then you lose. But testing them for weeks and weeks is bad and will put them in a bad mental space.
As a Giants fan thank you this video definitely made me smile and remember the good days
He woulda scored if he didn't try and cut back on Ben. At the very least he woulda got about an extra 10 years for the colts to kick it.
@@NYG5 yep, the cut back was the wrong move, but of course it's easier to see and say in hindsight and from the view we have.

A team that almost made this list is the 1990 49ers. They started 10-0 before a loss to the Rams in week 12. They are another excellent team that fell victim the the pesky Giants.
The Giants also started 10-0 that year and we got crushed by who else Philadelphia. We lost to the Niners the next week too.
Great video. Certainly gets me hyped for the coming season along with Hard Knocks.
When KTO uploads its always a good day
This video proves that no matter what people say about the NFC East, that division has held its own when it matters. I love it!
The fact that my 2009 New Orleans Saints are the last team to start 11-0 & go on to win the super bowl so far gives me at least something to lean back on... for now

KTO, Earl Morrall was not just some backup QB. He was the 1968 MVP. He was a very good QB in the era when passing was very difficult.
I can tell you why the Steelers collapsed. The team peaked early and was exhausted because of the week 4 bye week aswelll as a bit of an easy schedule.
They moved our bye because of covid we got screwed by them rescheduling 2 plus games that year
It's because they had a super weak schedule. Everyone knew when they were undefeated they weren't getting past Buffalo or KC.
easy sched - also I think teams figured out during the season that 8-9 man fronts blow up running plays, but you can also use the same formations against the pass when your QB is a corpse who can't throw it 10 yards downfield.
@Fries The Steelers somehow made the playoffs in 2021 with the hardest schedule in the league nobody talks about that
@@duskthunder9274 because everyone hates the Steelers for some reason.
They are so forgotten that I won a bet that Washington was one of the teams that beat the Bills in the Superbowl.
Wooo! Always a special occasion when kto uploads.
Great video, didn’t think you were ill at all which shows good work. Kudos for calling Washington the Redskins in your video. It was their name, it is a historic fact.
I’ll never forget that shoestring tackle by Big Ben. Destroyed me as a Colts fan. Great play
Fantastic video! The work you put into this is evident. I appreciate the diligence and work you put into making this.

As a packers fan that season sealed our fate forever.
Now they have a legacy of choking in the playoffs every year since then
@@ChiefBlue4298 not every playoff appearance since 2012 against the Giants it's been some games in which they failed to even get the lead against teams in the playoffs
I blame the Game That Shall Not Be Named in the playoffs a few seasons later. No doubt you know the one.
And I was happy when the Giants won
NBC and CBS also televised it with the NFL Network. Fox didn't televise it probably because of the rules at the time of the AFC road games being on CBS, and NFC road games on Fox.
Clutch video idea bro. Haha when I read the title it had to be an immediate watch
I believe resting your starters for the last game of the season is beneficial, I wouldn’t bench them for anymore than that.
3:15 Earl Morrall had a really weird career, being a journeyman backup QB who somehow earned 1st team All-Pro honors TWICE following an injury to a Hall of Fame starter. He even won NFL MVP after taking over when Johnny Unitas went down.
Watching the Giants take down Tom Brady and their almost perfect season. Solidified me as a Giants fan for life.
There wasn't a time watching that game did I think Miami wasn't murdering da' Bears
And Da' Bears were lucky they didn't play Miami again in their super bowl.
That colts loss to saints still hurts!! They wanted it more though. That onside kick recovery coming into second half was the stuff of legend.
The 2015 panthers are easily one of the funnest teams in NFL history
6:34 Fun fact: William "The Refrigerator" Perry is actually from my home town of Aiken, SC. In fact, we have the same high school alma mater, Aiken High School. He even still lives here.
The good news is that the Giants are unlikely to be playing an 11-0 team this year. The teams that they will be playing after their 11th game are the Commanders twice, the Eagles twice, the Vikings and the Colts.
Guess they'll have to make the playoffs then. It's been a while.
