For the 2010 season when the Jets beat the Patriots in the playoffs, Mark Sanchez was in his 2nd season, not his rookie season. Other than that, great video as always
To be fair that jets team in 2009 and 2010 was pretty damn good defensively. I thought that 2008 squad could have won the Superbowl if Favre didn't injure his throwing shoulder mid season.
I wanted the New York Jets to go and win Super Bowl 45 in the 2010 season.I was so disappointed and the Jets never returned to that 2009 and 2010 form.Oh well the Jets will win a Super Bowl one day
16:36 Wow! It's crazy to see how even both the Patriots and eagles were in terms of points when you showed us the standings for 2017. The Patriots scored one more point and the eagles gave up one less point.
Incredible video. One point of note: 10:39 it wasn’t ROOKIE Mark Sanchez. It was Sanchez’s second season in 2010. 2009 was the rookie year when he led the Jets to their first of back-to-back AFC Championship appearances.
As a lifelong Atlanta Falcons fan, I'm not sure there is any NFL fan base that knows pain quite like we do, to have defeat snatched from the jaws of victory time and time again. In my mind 28-3 was more painful, just because that game was years in the making for our franchise and the past few seasons had all been building towards this one moment, only to have it all taken away from us over the course of those last 30 minutes.
As a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan, I have to disagree while we have not had a collapse on the level of 28-3 ever since the Super Bowl win it’s been heartbreak after heartbreak. From San Francisco beating us on a last second TD to beastquake to the Minneapolis miracle to the missed pass interference to Jared Cook fumbling away Drew Brees’ last game it has been rough the past decade.
If you go back to 1999, it was the Jacksonville Jagaurs and they lost in the AFC Champ game to the Titans. 1998 was that 15-1 Vikings team that lost the NFC Champ Game
I’d say overall 28-3 is a worse lost just cause you have nobody to blame except yourselves as a whole team where the goal line interception could blame the coach’s play call which is what most of us have done since that game while we always talk about how bad and funny it was that the Falcons just imploded
Not sure if it’s been mentioned already here, but it’s crazy how in 2017, Patriots scored one more point than the Eagles did, but the Eagles allowed one less point. That’s insane!!
as a chargers fan, that Marlon McCree fumble will haunt me for the rest of my life. you could make the argument that singular play was the reason phillip rivers might not make the hall of fame. i believe they couldve beaten the colts and the bears if they were just able to run out the clock against the pats.
It was so awesome to relive these super bowls....I think losing the way the falcons did to the patriots was the worst even though the way the seahawks lost was equally unbelievable
Minor correction at around 17:25: Super Bowl 52 was not the highest scoring Super Bowl. That distinction belongs to Super Bowl 29 (52 had 74 points scored [Eagles 41 + Patriots 33], 29 had 75 points scored [49ers 49 + Chargers 26]). Super Bowl 52 was the most “offensive” one though, as the two teams combined for over 1150 yards of offense (which I believe is a record for all games). Great video though, very entertaining!
Storytime. I was at a Milwaukee Bucks game on the night the Packers lost, I'm from Chicago and I had never seen so much Packers gear in my life. The Bucks had the scoreboard up but, on the way home I heard Robbie Gould's kick on the radio. It's one of my fondest memories
I think being number one just adds more pressure. You're expected to win against lower seeds even though they may have only a slightly worse record. Sometimes it's just a team solidifying at the right time, giants and packers are notable examples when they won. The bengals from the year before were impressive too even if they got beat by the rams, not sure if anyone expected them to be good with burrow coming off that knee injury and making the horrible mistake of drafting chase instead of that offensive lineman. that's why I don't give af what all those so called analysts say.
Fun to look back on all these seasons. Seems like a good defense is key to getting yourself into the playoffs as a high seed. Sucks seeing the jets in the playoffs so much toward the start knowing I never get to see that as a fan lmao
@@inconnu4961 I actually think the 2008 squad was the best one on paper. Yes the 09 and 10 teams had great defensive play but that 2008 was the most well rounded. If only Favre didn't injure his throwing arm they might of made a run at the SB.

As a Patriots fan, I feel so unbelievably fortunate to have watched so many incredible Super Bowl teams in my lifetime. I'll never forget the excitement that came with the goal line interception against Seattle, ran around the house in circles yelling "interception" because just a moment before I was saying "are they really gonna lose another one after another improbable catch?!" So my disappointment turned to excitement in what seemed like a millisecond. And then the 28-3 comeback... Man, I've never sunk so low in my chair after that pick 6. Felt absolutely over. The comeback... Edelman's crazy catch, the toss to White in OT, Brady pulling out the stops only he can... So grateful to have watched it all!
I've been saying this for years now (I'm a Bill's fan). It doesn't matter what seat you get, or your record. It's all about getting hot during the playoffs. And usually it's about being dominant in one area, and being average to good in everything else. And typically one of those "good position groups" step it up in the Playoffs and that team wins the Superbowl.
As a Falcons fan, throwing an interception at the goal line to lose the game is much, much worse. Both of these are both heart wrenching, agonizing ways of having victory in your hands just for it to slip out of your hands, but the difference is that the Seahawks actually had a much more sizable chance to win in the final seconds of regulation, while the Falcons were basically screwed by the flip of a coin.
To answer the Falcons v Seahawks question, go watch Secret Base's 7 part series on the history of the Falcons. That'll give you great perspective on that 28-3 loss
Blowing a 28 point lead is no doubt worse. To collapse on that level when all it takes is a little here or there to seal it however, losing on "the last play" is way more heartbreaking.
The last second heartbreak of the goal line interception is the most painful. The loss of a 25 point lead in the super bowl is more infuriating imo as a neutral fan lol

Both losses are humiliating for sure, but only one has a title to it. Like “The Tortoise and the Hare”, all you have to say is “28-3” & people instantly know what you’re talking about.
Blowing a 23 point lead in the SB is worse then 1 dumb play on the goal line to cost the game. ATL could have just let the clock run down every play and ran the ball in the 2nd half and NE wouldn't of had enough possessions to make their comeback. Instead ATL decided to throw pick 6s and throw incompletions which took no time off the clock and gave NE enough possessions to get back in the game and win.
The goal line interception is worse for sure for 3 reasons. 1. I am a Seahawks Fan. This was heartbreaking 2. The play before this totally got overshadowed (The crazy Kearse Catch) 3. Fan had hope we were winning, untill the last play.
Update: the record is now 6 for 24 on regular-season champs winning the Super Bowl. Being a longtime soccer fan makes you appreciate that the NFL's regular season and playoffs are basically two separate competitions fused into one. The Premier League has the league title based on points (regular season) and the FA Cup based on a tournament (playoffs). They are completely separate, but the league title there is more coveted.
The goaline had much more damage as a Seahawks fan. We lost the LOB because of it. This also showed Pete Carolls intent to favor Russ over his defense which used to be the other way around. And we never made it halfway to the Super Bowl since. Not to mention the heart attack when I saw the play. This ruined our team because Russel Wilson was a system QB who sucks in the pocket which is why in Denver he can’t do anything. Mostly because of his height. He can’t roll out of the pocket anymore.
Pretty much all of those players walked in free agency. Yeah, the play call was atrocious, but saying they left the team solely because of the play isn't telling the whole story.
This favoring Russ idea is a product of the childishness and greed of the LOB players it's not based in reality. Belichick just outsmarted the Seahawks coaches. That pass play was their go to goal line play they were something like 9-0 that year using it. When Belichick decided not to call a timeout with 28 seconds left he made the coaches rush their decision and they ran the play the Patriots had practiced stopping all week.
Being up 28-3 in the 3rd quarter, ready to celebrate your 1st ever Super Bowl Win after dominating majority of the game hurts. You did everything right and some how still found a way to f* it up
Everyone talking about how tragic being a fan of their team is are forgetting about the Vikings, continuous heartbreaking moments since the 60s and have never gotten their happy ending
Tell ya what Karsten, I'm surprised Matt Ryan didn't retire first thing Sunday morning. After choking away that game, it wouldn't have been a shock to never see the guy again.
The only thing that makes the Falcons loss slightly worse is that at least us Hawks fans got to experience a Super Bowl win the previous year. The Falcons have no such comfort.
great video! as a lifelong, die hard Eagles fan this season has been sensational but my playoff expectations are tempered. we have a young coach and QB. hopefully this is the start of a ten year run of playoff appearances and if we happen to win one or two rings during that span I will be more than grateful. Championships are tough to come by in any professional sport.
I admire how you show respect to the chargers by showing that 2006 marlon mcree pick/fumble highlight first. I know im biased as a charger fan myself, but that 2006 team is SEVERELY UNDERRATED and it should be more recognized as an all time "what if" or in a negative sense, "choke". Even in that particular loss vs the patriots, the chargers looked so much better and played their ass off...but....ughhhhhh... nate kaeding, marlom mcree, P.I!!!!!
I'll put it in this context. Which looks to be worst in a boxing sense. A fight you were winning comfortably but lost because you maybe took the foot slightly off the pedal (happens more than we think) Or a fight that you won all the rounds, and with 10 seconds to go lost by a random last ditch last desperation knockout punch you couldve easily avoided?
Was mike Anderson the running back for the broncos? (2000 offensive roty) I starred at that name for at least a minute before any light bulb clicked. Love the channel
2008 Cortland Finnegan is one of the biggest single year wonders in any sport ever. A benchwarmer in his rookie year and a roleplayer caliber player in year 2, in year 3 he earned an all pro selection, and was tied for the best player in the league by Average Value. He then never played anywhere close to that level ever again.
Goal line interception. I was 10 and vividly remember the play. I cried after lol. But its so bad because it was so preventable. Like you said, we had one of the best rushing offenses.
i still remember seeing that interception in the seahawks v pats. i think i was 11 at the time. didn’t have a clue about football and even i asked my dad why they didn’t run the ball 😭😭
Hey KTO as a long time Giants fan I wonder if you're interested in making a video on teams that weren't supposed to do well but ended up overachieving despite the odds. Love your content and hope you and everyone are doing well, keep it going fam!
As a Seahawks fan, I’d rather throw a pick at the goal line. 28 to 3 is just insane. They could’ve just kneeled the ball out and would’ve likely won. The embarrassment of a complete team collapse is worse in my opinion
For your information, 3.7k yards and 23 TDs ranked ranked 6th and 10th in the NFL in 2003/04. Only two QBs even eclipsed 4k yards and only Brett Favre even surpassed 30 TDs. Brady received a quarter of the MVP votes.
The graphic at 0:19 is incorrect. The #1 team doesn't play the winner of the #4 vs #5 match, but plays the lowest seed left after the Wildcard round. So if the #6 and/or #7 seed gets an upset, the #1 seed plays the lowest of those.
Blowing the 28-3 lead is worse imo.

Good stuff again. My own question to Falcons fans: would you have rather that they lost to Seattle or GB and never made that Super Bowl?
That crip music at the end always hits right
Cautiously optimistic Eagles fan…part of me says they breeze through the NFC, but I just know it’s not going to be that easy
No it wont be that easy! I have faith you guys will survive to the Super bowl.
If you think he was the one who choked you didn't watch the game
KTO really stands for King of The Outro
The only thing that makes the Falcons loss slightly worse is that at least us Hawks fans got to experience a Super Bowl win the previous year. The Falcons have no such comfort.
great video! as a lifelong, die hard Eagles fan this season has been sensational but my playoff expectations are tempered. we have a young coach and QB. hopefully this is the start of a ten year run of playoff appearances and if we happen to win one or two rings during that span I will be more than grateful. Championships are tough to come by in any professional sport.
Too bad you dropped an ugly one against the Saints! Good luck for the rest of the season! I will be on the bandwagon for you guys!
We need a Chris weinke video! Oldest heisman winner ever
That 2002 eagles squad was good.just sucks the bucs had one of the best defenses of all time
I think that 2002 season was great, with the Bucs shutting down the Vet and winning Super Bowl XXXVII. ;)
Wilson throwing that interception at the goal line hurt, but just imagine being up 28 points in the Super Bowl & you still lose😬🤦🏼💀
Even in that particular loss vs the patriots, the chargers looked so much better and played their ass off...but....ughhhhhh... nate kaeding, marlom mcree, P.I!!!!!
that saints loss to the rams still make me feel some type of way
Goal line for sure, they had beast mode
I'll put it in this context.
Which looks to be worst in a boxing sense. A fight you were winning comfortably but lost because you maybe took the foot slightly off the pedal (happens more than we think)
Or a fight that you won all the rounds, and with 10 seconds to go lost by a random last ditch last desperation knockout punch you couldve easily avoided?
Gotta be the pick at the goal line. Beast mode should’ve punched it in, but we’ll never know what they say to make them call a pass in that spot
Was mike Anderson the running back for the broncos? (2000 offensive roty) I starred at that name for at least a minute before any light bulb clicked. Love the channel
As a Hawks fan I had no idea those two years we went to the super bowl we were playing against the other team tied for best regular season record
Finnegan will always be the guy who got jumped by Andre Johnson.
Goal line interception. I was 10 and vividly remember the play. I cried after lol. But its so bad because it was so preventable. Like you said, we had one of the best rushing offenses.
Love how you ended it with the eagles
4:01 Tenacious D efense, I see you KTO
i still remember seeing that interception in the seahawks v pats. i think i was 11 at the time. didn’t have a clue about football and even i asked my dad why they didn’t run the ball 😭😭
As a packers fan, there were tears shed from 2011 and onwards
Hey KTO as a long time Giants fan I wonder if you're interested in making a video on teams that weren't supposed to do well but ended up overachieving despite the odds. Love your content and hope you and everyone are doing well, keep it going fam!
As a Seahawks fan, I’d rather throw a pick at the goal line. 28 to 3 is just insane. They could’ve just kneeled the ball out and would’ve likely won. The embarrassment of a complete team collapse is worse in my opinion
So the two seasons the titans were the number 1 seed, the ravens upset them, and the one season the ravens were the 1 seed, the titans upset them
For your information, 3.7k yards and 23 TDs ranked ranked 6th and 10th in the NFL in 2003/04.
