God what a season. First game i ever watched the whole way through was the bears vikings matchup where adrain made their entire defence look silly. Havent missed a vikings game since :)
This is the season I really began watching football. The emotions here are strong. I miss watching Peyton Manning so much. RIP Demaryius Thomas. I love your work KTO!
Worth Mentioning: Rookie Linebacker Luke Kuechly lead the league in tackles and won DROY. Charles Tillman finished the season as an All-Pro with 10 Forced Fumbles and 3 interceptions that all went for touchdowns. Brian Urlacher would not resign with the Bears after the season and he subsequently retired. Matt Schaub delivered a game where he posted the second highest passing yardage ever in a game with 527. After Super Bowl 47, Ray Lewis retires and safety Ed Reed moves on from Baltimore. The Kansas City finished with the worst record in the NFL despite boasting 6 Pro Bowlers. The Saints defense allowed the most yards ever in a 16-game season.
Alex Smith went to that 2-14 KC team and forst year with Andy Reid. They rattled off a 9-0 start. Making the playoffs with a ridiculous upset loss to the Colts.

This was the season that made me a Ravens fan. Watching the Ravens go on that crazy run along with Ray Lewis’s speech on Madden 13 made me a Ravens fan.
That “mile high miracle” throw by Flacco to Jacoby Jones against Denver at the end of the game is one of my greatest moments ever as a Ravens fan. I’ll never forget my friend tackled me over the coffee table we were so excited. Great memories and one of the greatest games ever played in my opinion!
remember it vividly even tho i was so young i was like 7, but my cousins were getting ready to leave, everyone is hugging goodbye, but wait, flacco down field. caught. everyone is running around screaming and shouting and everything stood still for a minute
🤣 bro me and like 4 friends went out to a sports bar and snuck in booze, we were seniors in high school. When jacoby scored that td we went fucking off. Almost got kicked out. I'll never forget that game. Probably the best ravens game I've ever seen..
Crazy season for sure. Coming off of the Evans/Cundiff choke of 2011 against Pats in AFCCG. Reigning DPOY Suggs tears Achilles in April playing basketball. Ray Lewis tears tricep during the season. Returns for playoffs and announces his last ride. Our best CB Webb tears his ACL early in the season. Tucker beats out Cundiff in preseason to be our new kicker. Forgot to mention the tumultuous 2012-13 Kansas City Chiefs, a season involving a player committing a murder-suicide, A blackout at Arrowhead Stadium during a Week 11 game against the Bengals, The Chiefs were head-coached by the recently retired Romeo Crennel and new Giants HC Brian Daboll was also on the Chiefs staff. The Chiefs were quarterbacked by both Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn that year. The following 2013 offseason, the Chiefs hired former Eagles HC Andy Reid and traded for former 49ers QB Alex Smith.

"All Season Long around the country they said this team couldn't get to the playoffs. Couldn't get past the Colts because we never beat them in the playoffs. Couldn't possibly get past the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning. And we could never beat Tom Brady and the Patriots in Foxboro. And how could the Ravens ever beat the San Francisco 49ers who were favored in Super Bowl XLVII. But the rest of the nation forgot what we know. And that is, when Ray Lewis said that this would be his last ride. We would be in for a magic carpet ride!" -Ravens Play-Play Announcer Gerry Sandusky (At the Super Bowl Parade)
@@michaelhession2105 sounds like something someone in his position would say, but yeah...the ravens had never beat the colts in the playoffs until that time
@@Megalopros I agree. Because Sandusky grew up idolizing the Baltimore Colts before they moved because his father John was an Offensive and Defensive Line coach. And for them to finally get past Indianapolis was a huge relief. This is what Cleveland is trying to do to us yet the precious narratives are still there.
That freaking Broncos comeback... I thought it was over. I flipped to a different channel because it was clearly over. I check ESPN later to find out I missed my favorite team mount the comeback of the year. I still kick myself over that one.
That’s still my favorite Broncos regular season game ever. I was at the bar full of charger fans getting clowned then that freaking sweet comeback happened😎
Another banger KTO. I’m so glad they’re channel’s like yours to help me relive these moments. I’m only 25 but this felt like so long ago 😭😭😭 keep it up homie
What a year. I loved 2012. Atlanta ranked #1 was so sweet. We almost blew a big lead against Seattle..... Ryan and company's attack to avoid that embarrassment for one more week was surgical.
The year I won my very first fantasy title! Rodgers and the Bears D were the main reasons behind that title. And if not for a combination error in another league (or if they allowed co-champs), I would've won 2 titles that year.
0:52 that's always got me going crazy when it's a fumble and the 2 D-Lineman fight for the ball and it slides out in front of them, then the safety comes out of nowhere and picks up the ball and takes it back.
I’m going to love this video and next years. As a Seahawks fan for my mental state going to have to skip the end of the what the nfl looked like in 2014 video.
That was a smooth transition into your sponsor, KTO. I'm gonna sign up, as soon as I finish this video ✌️ Thanks for showing some love to my Falcons (even though they blew a lead in the Conference Championship game). Hopefully, the NFL-- and all other major sports-- will become watchable, again. #ChuckStrong #RIPDT
@@connor8762 conservative media and politicians all complaining how “woke” they’ve become. Sure, the pandering is a bit extreme. But the term “woke” is just a go to punchline that has become beyond tedious.
I think there should be a video dedicated to "NFL Plays that changed a season". For example, you used the Ray Rice 4th & 29 play for 2012. In 2011, it was the Dez Bryant fingertips out of bounds against the Giants. I can try to help: 2001 - Jets beat the Raiders in the last game of the season on a last-second FG that forced the Raiders to play in the first round of the playoff instead of hosting the second round of the playoffs. If the Raiders win that game, it's possible the Tuck Rule game never happens and/or the Raiders beat the Patriots in sunny California instead of losing in snowy New England. 2002 - Patriots beat the Dolphins in OT in comeback fashion, knocking out the Dolphins and putting the Jets in the playoffs. 2003 - The infamous "The Cardinals have knocked the Vikings out of the playoffs!" play. 2004 - Week 15 - The Lions miss the game-tying extra point, which helped the Vikings make the playoffs and beat the Packers in Lambeau Field in the playoffs. 2005 - Week 14 - Chiefs have the lead against the Cowboys late, but a holding penalty keeps the Cowboy's drive alive, thus leading to the Cowboys score. Chiefs end up missing the playoffs by one game. Steelers, instead, take the 6th seed and win the Super Bowl that year. 2006 - To return the favor, the Steelers beat the Bengals in OT (and the 49ers beat the Broncos in OT) to put the Chiefs in the playoffs as the 6th seed. 2007 - A penalty and a timeout give Brady and the Patriots second chances against the Ravens to help continue their undefeated season. 2008 - In Week 1, a fourth down stop in the 4th quarter by the Ravens against the Bengals gives them a 11-5 record, which is just enough to beat out the Patriots for the 6th seed. 2009 - Jets stop a Brady attempt to tie the game late in Week 2. Jets end up going 9-7, tying 4 other teams and getting the 5th spot. Ended up making it to the AFC Championship Game. 2010 - A 4th down stop late in the game in Week 1 helps the Packers win in Philadelphia for the first time in 40+ years. Packers end up being the 6th seed and winning the Super Bowl. Just a few suggestions 😉
Little biased cause I'm a ravens fan, but 2012 season was so fun to watch. Those like '11-'14 seasons were crazy. People always say its a passing league now, but it was never like it was in this 4 seasons. In those 4 seasons, there is 9 guys on the top 20 list for most passing yards ever. 2012 was also the last time a non qb won an mvp (peterson). That draft class was wild too...luck, rg3, kuechly, Wagner, russ, kirk. Man I miss that era of football.
Manning hitting Stokley for that TD, man when I saw that back then and even to this day it gives me goosebumps. They were my Football hero’s growing up and seeing them together again in Denver made me a hardcore Bronco fan!
As a Ravens fan, this season was such a rollercoaster. Torrey Smith’s game vs the Pats and the sus field goal to win, mind you the 2011 AFCCG was still very fresh in our minds when rookie kicker Justin Tucker kicked that. Ray Lewis getting injured, declared his “last ride” before the playoffs. 4th & 29. Getting blown out at home by the Broncos, only to beat them in the playoffs a month later. Beating the crap out of the defending SB champs in order to clinch the AFCN (btw - they rested their starters for the last game, so it’s not for sure they lose the division if they lose the Chargers game). Then the playoff run of beating the hated Colts who always had the Ravens number in the playoffs, then the Broncos with the Mile High Miracle, a revenge win in the AFCCG, and of course the Harbaugh Bowl that became the Blackout Bowl, which ended with a Ravens W. That seasons gonna last with us forever holy heck was it a ride.
hey KTO, great video as always. i just want to give feedback on how you chose to integrate those plays with the TV animation. it’s a nice idea, i just find it a bit hard to make out everything. i‘d find it better if you either show the play without that TV ’window‘ or if you make the entire thing a little bigger. i‘m on my phone but i am sure others might have the same issue.
KTO. Hey man thanks. You definitely have one of the coolest, educational, unique documentaries about football on these RUclips streets. Thanks man. Definitely in my rotation heavy.
i feel like this season isn’t remembered as well or talked about as much bc of what came directly after and before it. plus the super bowl champ was considerably weaker than normal. so were the 2011 giants, but there was so much offense that regular season. 2012 was crazy and yet it seems to be glossed over by a lot of younger and older fans alike
I made the trip to San Diego for the Ravens/Chargers game that year as my friend was a Ravens fan and wanted someone to go with. It was hard to see what happened on that 4th and 29 play from where we were sitting, but I remember the review taking like a half hour. Hard to believe that was 10 years ago
Fr. I still remember them as the team that was always good in the regular season but always choked in the playoffs and were a consistent first round exit. People forget that Andy Reid had the reputation of a choker/bad time manager before Mahomes came along
Dare I say it, but the replacement refs were actually right at the end of that 2012 Packers-Seahawks game. According to the NFL rulebook, a simultaneous catch counts as a reception for the offensive player. The “Fail Mary” wasn’t such a fail after all.
@@tuckerseifert3977, I know it’s easier to tell which player had their mitts on the ball first in a situation like that when watching in slow motion, but I don’t think something like that can be challenged. If an offensive and defensive player both snatch a ball in midair and then both come down wrestling for the ball, it goes down as a reception for the offensive player. The “Fail Mary” was actually called properly by the replacement refs.
All I can think about is how this type of video for next 10 years is just gonna show all the pain for packer fans and how Aaron Rodgers Career has been playoff loss after playoff loss
Great video, thanks for taking us back! It would have been cool if you included Ray Lewis's retirement along with the Ravens Super Bowl win. That clip of his last pre-game entrance at home would have been awesome to see
I think this is such a nostalgic year for me because its the first I remember perfectly and I was old enough to start really getting the game and appreciating different aspects of the league other than just my Steelers. The rookie qbs were all awesome and wish things turned out differently for them (other than Wilson ofc), so many cool storylines, and even found myself rooting for the Ravens in the Super Bowl to silence the 49er bandwagons in my town. I remember seeing the power go out and then the 49ers storm back it was such a fun game. Looking back at this year was awesome I can’t believe this was 10 years ago
Fun Fact: 2012 also marked the return of Nike as the NFL's official gear manufacturer (replacing Reebok who was the previous one since 2001 and before that, it was various in the mid-90s (including Nike with its famous Batwing-style template that let the Broncos had their 1st modern major jersey style change and it's still there today ever since) like Starter or Puma or Adidas), as well as its debut season of the Nike NFL Elite 51 jersey. With the wide neck space and weird shoulder yoke style. P.S.: Also if only the Vikings had gave the ball a bit more to Peterson before the final seconds of that game at home against the Packers, he would had definitely and rightfully had owned that single-season rushing yardage record, despite it would lead to overtime and might still go for more yardage and to possibly win that game. Instead, they conservatively played safe with the field goal with nearly no time left. And I was rooting for AP at that moment to possibly make history. But his team had thought otherwise with another idea.
I couldn't remember what happened this season at all in the beginning but once you mentioned Cap and the "limping" Ravens I knew how it ended lol good stuff
I remember this season well. Alot of clutch games for the faithful. It definitely stings that none of the guys on this team got to hoist a Lombardi trophy with us for their career. That season as a football fan was definitely one to remember

We would be in for a magic carpet ride!"
-Ravens Play-Play Announcer Gerry Sandusky (At the Super Bowl Parade)
@@michaelhession2105 sounds like something someone in his position would say, but yeah...the ravens had never beat the colts in the playoffs until that time
@@Megalopros I agree. Because Sandusky grew up idolizing the Baltimore Colts before they moved because his father John was an Offensive and Defensive Line coach. And for them to finally get past Indianapolis was a huge relief. This is what Cleveland is trying to do to us yet the precious narratives are still there.
Back I was trying to figure out if I should watch football with my dad or play black ops 2 with my friends. Anyway the super bowl was crazy
I remember watching the Blackout Bowl on TV. I cannot believe it's been 10 years already.
This season was unforgettable as a niner fan . Crushes me everytime
You guys got screwed over twice by the Refs and if it wasn't for them, you guys would've have 7 rings in your franchise history.
Love these videos cant click fast enough when i see one pop up in my subscription box!!
Born and raised in Baltimore. It was a great year to be a Ravens fan
Same cant wait for next years video
One of the most undervalued and underrated RUclipsrs
When I saw the thumbnail, my first thought was "Randy Moss didn't sign with the 49ers in 02." 2012 being a decade ago does not seem real.
Now that was a smooth transition to a sponsor. Keep it up KTO!
That was a smooth transition into your sponsor, KTO. I'm gonna sign up, as soon as I finish this video ✌️
Thanks for showing some love to my Falcons (even though they blew a lead in the Conference Championship game).
Hopefully,
the NFL-- and all other major sports-- will become watchable, again.
#ChuckStrong #RIPDT
Not hating but- what makes them unwatchable now?
@@connor8762 conservative media and politicians all complaining how “woke” they’ve become. Sure, the pandering is a bit extreme. But the term “woke” is just a go to punchline that has become beyond tedious.
I think there should be a video dedicated to "NFL Plays that changed a season". For example, you used the Ray Rice 4th & 29 play for 2012. In 2011, it was the Dez Bryant fingertips out of bounds against the Giants. I can try to help:
2001 - Jets beat the Raiders in the last game of the season on a last-second FG that forced the Raiders to play in the first round of the playoff instead of hosting the second round of the playoffs.
One of my first seasons to actually be able to remember. 2012 was a great year, and a great disappointment because of my niners.
Season recaps like these are awesome
Let’s not forget 2012 was also the year I had Adrian Peterson and Calvin Johnson on my fantasy football team. It was down hill for me the next decade
One of the best years of my life. Best part of that season was I won twenty from Trey on the SB!
As a Ravens fan, I’ll always treasure this season! Thx for the great video!
You guys got bailed out on 4th&29 by a wife beater then bailed out by a no PI call in the bowl
Absolutely Love your videos my man. Always looking forward to the next one.
Such great work!
2012 Adrian Peterson is easily one of the most dominant athletes I’ve ever seen
hey KTO, great video as always.
i just want to give feedback on how you chose to integrate those plays with the TV animation.
it’s a nice idea, i just find it a bit hard to make out everything.
i‘d find it better if you either show the play without that TV ’window‘ or if you make the entire thing a little bigger.
i‘m on my phone but i am sure others might have the same issue.
The year the Vikings had a running back as a qb 😂
I’m so happy you uploaded today my man, sorry you guys got Josh Rosen
Oh man, the replacement refs. That was equal parts brutal and embarrassing.
My goodness that was the smoothest transition into an Ad I’ve ever seen 😂
RIP Jacoby Jones
Hard to believe the Kansas city chiefs went 2-14 this year!!
Fr. I still remember them as the team that was always good in the regular season but always choked in the playoffs and were a consistent first round exit. People forget that Andy Reid had the reputation of a choker/bad time manager before Mahomes came along
2-14 actually and it was a wild season for the Chiefs (off the field)
@@maxwasson2000 oop my bad! Thanks ! :)
@@maxwasson2000 how so? I kinda forget
They also had six pro bowlers as well. Now I know that the pro bowl is a joke, but damn. Six pro bowlers! Yet, they finished the year 2-14.
Thank you for this. This was my 1st year watching football. Brings back a lot of memories
To anyone that thinks Randy Moss is the greatest receiver, no he isn’t, Jerry Rice is. Moss was washed by 33 and Rice put up 1000 yards in his 40s
crazy, just yesterday i was just thinking about when this year’s edition was coming out. great content as usual
Dare I say it, but the replacement refs were actually right at the end of that 2012 Packers-Seahawks game. According to the NFL rulebook, a simultaneous catch counts as a reception for the offensive player. The “Fail Mary” wasn’t such a fail after all.
I don’t think it was simultaneous.
Just crazy how 2012 feels like yesterday yet it’s been so long that we’re all here watching a video reminding us of how those days went.
That clip of his last pre-game entrance at home would have been awesome to see
I remember from 09-14 being such a dedicated ravens fan. So the 2013 playoffs were so crazy to me. I remember every detail of it!
Just finished the vid, can’t wait for next year’s video. Can’t believe it’s almost been 10 years.
That ad segway was ruthless, great video as usual btw
I'm so glad you put that 4th and 29 in there. Most people forget about that one play.
You could easily make these videos 30-60 min, great stuff
I started watching football in 2012 and ever since I found KTO a few years ago I've been waiting for this video. 🔥
I wait for these videos every year and they never miss
The nostalgia in this video is crazy. What a masterpiece of a video.
Love your channel man!
Ray Lewis vs Patrick Willis in the super bowl was dope asf💯 like Jordan and Kobe at their respective positions
Can’t believe ray rice beat the defense like that on one play. Really punched through for that first down.
Wasn’t getting your videos and kinda forgot about one of the most entertaining channels ever but thanks for all your hard work brotha
These videos never miss. Thanks for another great one
Really looking forward to next year’s video. 2013 was when I first really got into football so it’s going to bring back some memories
Time flies so fast man! I was in 8th grade that year and 2012 was one crazy year for free agency!
2012 was my first year doing fantasy football I love seeing all the videos about that year
