  • This is a recipe and walk through on how I make low carb/keto loaded burger bowls. Please read the ingredients list below for any possible allergens that may affect you. The nutritional card I have in this video represents my ingredients, as close as I could get using the online tool that generated it for me. Your exact numbers may differ slightly. The estimated net carb per serving is 4g. However, I always encourage you to do your own calculations as your ingredients may differ slightly from mine.
I hope you enjoy this recipe. Please comment below if you try it so I can see what you think of it.
Although I do sometimes take liberties with the ingredients, I got this base recipe from:
    www.familyfreshmeals.com/2018...
    Ingredients:
    2 lbs ground beef
    2.5 tsp Lawry’s Seasoned Salt - amzn.to/3dsaull
    1 tsp Garlic Powder - amzn.to/2Nn5P9Q
    1/2 tsp Black Pepper, Ground
    3 tsp Worcestershire sauce - amzn.to/37XMJ3v
    4 Tbs butter
2 cups sliced mushrooms, I used baby bella
8 slices extra sharp white cheddar cheese, or your cheese of choice
    1/2 cup red onion, sliced
1/2 tsp pink himalayan sea salt - amzn.to/3dvHWY8
    1/2 tsp Mrs. Dash - amzn.to/2Z8Q23S
10 slices of bacon, cooked and diced
Optionally, diced chives, bacon, bbq sauce or ranch for topping

This looks good, and I’m going to give it a try when I get a chance. I’m not trying to be the keto police, but only saying this in case someone is watching carbs for diabetic reasons. Worcestershire, which I love has sugar and molasses in it, some brands may have high fructose corn syrup, but it is only 1gm carb per serving so it is up to you. I personally read all ingredients and stay away from sugar, high fructose corn syrup, or any corn syrup. Also, maltodextrin is sugar and will usually increase blood glucose. Just trying to be helpful, it’s the nurse in me that wants to teach.🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @kenmarelove9176
      @kenmarelove9176 День назад

Knowledge is power and you didn't come across as the keto police at all, I also read the all labels and I think a lot of people don't know that things like fructose and maltodextrin etc., are other forms of sugar. Keep educating! ♥

Green onions are actually perennials so you can put all of those green onion roots into a big pot and keep watering them and they'll keep growing back again and again just snip off the tops as you need them. I have a huge pot of them and hardly ever have to buy them during the summer time even though I use a lot of green onions. When the winter comes, I'm in the Northeast upstate New York, I just trimmed them back down near to the dirt and store the pod in my garage until the spring. Then take it back out and start watering it and everything starts growing again.

For Type 2 Diabetics substitute Coconut Aminos for the Worcestershire sauce. and sea salt for Mrs. Dash. Make your own seasoning mixture, Lawry's has sugar in it. Top with full fat sour cream or use that to make your own ranch. Shred your own cheese to avoid the anti-clumping starch that's in pre-grated.

Great idea! For future use, wet the jar after every one; just hot water to rinse off the fat that sticks to the jar. It will release much better and the little bit of water won't hurt anything. Whenever I patty up burgers, I do it on a small, smooth cutting board that I can run under the hot water after every couple. Otherwise, fat builds up and makes the board sticky; the patties rip when I try to flip 'em over to finish shaping.

In the UK we pronounce it, Wooster Sauce. I love it, have it in my eggs, fried or otherwise. It's named after the county it is made in Worcester. We pronounce the county, Wooster. To be formal you may say Wooster shire but as one word, Woostershire. Now understand I am deliberately misspelling it so as to try and convey it phonetically. Different folks in different parts of the country pronounce it differently but coming from the London area this is how we pronounce it. I know it's an old video but I couldn't be bothered to read through the comments to see if anyone had enlightened you. Be well.

Interesting, My Mom used to make what she called Guacamole Pie, she used a pie pan and pressed the seasoned ground beef into the pie pan and baked it, then poured off the grease and she made a pot full of mashed potatoes (with cheese of course) and layered the mashed potatoes in the still hot meat pie crust and then mashed and seasoned a bunch of avocados and spread that on top of the mashed potatoes, it was AWESOME, we had 5 HUGE old avocado trees and that was an easy way to use them up when they were ripe, I only thought about her recipe because of your use of the Meat Bowls, I haven't thought about the Guacamole Pie in 45 yrs! We ate Avocados 3 meals a day, from Spring into Fall, I actually developed an allergy to them because of eating them too much. 😄

If you add celery seed, salt & pepper to your sauteed onions & mushrooms it add flavor & makes the base for cream of mushroom soup & mushroom gravey.
Your recipe made me hungry! Grat job!👍😃

Love the recipe! On a channel I watch, she jokingly calls it " wash your sister sauce" LOL.

Cooked last night, a few changes, used 3lbs for 4, only made 2, 2 more tonight
Changed mushrooms for condensed mushroom soup....... Don't do that
Used crispy onion, red pepper, and jalapeno pieces......that works, buuuut
I don't know how you kept the hamburger grease in that shallow baking sheet......I used 12in carbon steel pan, much deeper
I covered loosely with foil, hamburger was fully cooked but no crunchy spots
    It was quite good
Tonight I'm going for less bowl and more of an indent, fry bottom as the oven is heating, then put pan in, and use 400 maybe get it a little crunchy
Next I think I'd be better with smaller bowls......maybe 1/4lb bowls........if you do the math the bowls I made were 3/4 instead of 1/2lb
Edit: frying bottom some before the oven was good, cooking longer hotter heat was good.......although we have a brand new stove/oven and yesterday was first time cooking......the oven temps may not be what I'm used to.......the stove top temps are a bit hotter than old stove
I forgot I wanted to make them smaller, still 3/4lb, but making the "bowl" shallower it kept together better......still working with the mistake of using concentrated mushroom soup......don't do that........I added extra Lowry's

Green onions (chives) will continually grow in water too. Great recipe. Can’t wait to make this.

We could use ground chicken, turkey, pork, beef - whichever you prefer for the bowl - and combinations of vegetables, cheese, eggs (ketogenic of course) for the filling, and still have variety in your meals.
“Wusstersheer” sauce. The “wuss” is ALMOST “woose”.

I did these on the grill last night in a cast iron skillet, indirect heat, and I just didn't expect them to be so damn good. Guess what we're having tonight (with a few tweaks). We're ketovores and we eat a lot of ground beef; this is the best way I've found yet to use it. Tks.

Easiest way to remember how to say it: worst -eh -sheer sauce. Worst-eh-sheer said altogether as one word. Took me decades to find out how to correctly pronounce it, and my family roots are from (and in) Massachusetts! New England, Baby! Raised by my grandparents, my grand da is from Exeter, New Hampshire, my Grams from Haverhill (pronounced hay-vrill), Massachusetts, and I STILL couldn't wrap my tongue around that word correctly! I finally met a person who REELY helped me. Awesome, that. Anyway, have fun practicing wrapping your tongue and mouth around that damn word!

What a great idea, I will try it, just a couple of suggestions: I would lightly coat the bottom of the jar with keto oil. I would like to crack an eg on what you have done, or add a fried egg on top if it takes up too much room inside. The options to add are endless, thanks very much ❤

for easier jar removal, you could also grease it with butter, which is keto friendly
