Sixty years ago, when I was a very young Bank Officer in Bendigo, Victoria, I had to carry a .442 RIC Webley, tucked into the waist of my suit, when the Bank Manager and I had to carry large sums of money around the famously wealthy gold mining town. Custer famously had two of them. Your question brought back some fond memories. I also had to keep that gun at close reach under the counter in the Bank, because I used to buy gold from the miners. If you Google the Shamrock Hotel in Bendigo you will see a fabulous old hotel across the road from the ANZ Bank. Happy memories .
Hi Antonio great video, my only problem is that you compare a character in several movies and a character in just two movies. As you said he’s been in a lot of movies, and you showed examples from several films compared to just two. Imho, I would have selected just two of the Bond films to go up against the two Kingsman films
I think it's very difficult to choose between the two since James Bond's style is really meant to be as inconspicuous as possible while being timeless and elegant, while I feel Kingsman was a lot more flamboyant with their styling. I like the fact that Kingsman had double breasted suits (those are my favourite) but I still give it to James Bond. The simplicity speaks volumes.
Kingsman is my pick... bcoz they really make something out of ordinary... even not the gadgets included... they owned it and leveled it up... I never enjoyed something that is flamboyant and fashionably fun at the same time...
James Bond takes it for me. He is really meant to blend into the crowd, yet he favors materials like Sea Island Cotton, the epitome of style understated but timeless and elegant
It depends on the movie plot. While Bond comes from a noble background, Egsy is from a low-class working family. The movie shows how his looks and confidence changed when he became a Kingsman.
Thx for a cool Video. I agree with your general points, but the lapels, the fit and drape of the suits in KM are next level. With JB, I often see collar gaps and poorly tailored jackets, and I just do not see how those suits come close to (supposedly) handmade suits by a top Savile Row tailoring house. Anyway, thumbs up on all the other points 👍
A correction, the Duke of Windsor became King Edward viii. His father, Edward vii was responsible for initiating the fashion of leaving the bottom button on a waistcoat undone. Both the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Windsor influenced the dress style of Bond's creator, Ian Fleming. Phillip J.
The other way around. Edwart VIII became Duke of Windsor after abdicating, was Prince of Wales before taking the throne, was the grandchild of Edward VII and son of George V.
Kingsman is what got me into double-breasted suits and bespoke tailoring. I also really love the original Lancelot's single-breasted suit with a double-breasted waistcoat at the beginning of the first film. For Bond the classic Conduit Cut that Sean Connery wore is my favorite.
Okay, upon closer inspection Lancelot has a single-breasted waistcoat but my point still stands. I like that look and it is different from all the other Kingsman agents who have different variations on double-breasted suits.
No contest here. Kings men’s classical return to English style is decent but no way equal to Bond’s long-standing looks. A rendition no one actor can harm, only add to.
It's kingsmen for me. Classic all the way. Also a big thank you Antonio for the amazing information you provide in your videos. They and you have helped me greatly.
I think James Bond takes this one. RMRS, you're doing good work. The trip back to the 60s, 70s to emphasis on the accessories is a good trait on the attention to detail.
I'm a James Bond kinda girl myself. Ever since I was a little girl, I've dreamt of being his sidekick/girlfriend. So I choose him. lol Plus, I love his theme music. Can't get more stylish than that.
I noticed that you didnt mention several of the items in Kingsman that you praised James Bond for. The Car/english cabs has weapons, hidden firearms, a drift mode, submarine mode, self driving, remote control and probably more. The ring is also a tazer. The watch launches amnesia, taser and probably sleeping darts, built in flash bomb, tracker and was used to hack and remotely control robotics. The glasses doubles as cameras, scanners, information display and I’m assuming communications device. Top hats: had surveillance and listening equipment. The suitcase could also be folded out into a bulletproof shield Perfume/deodorant: Freeze spray, timed napalm like explosive Fountain pen: Contains an odorless, tasteless poison that is harmless until remotely triggered by said pen. The suits are custom made and bulletproof (I don’t know if the James Bond suits are bulletproof) Not to mention that they have a multitude of different vehicles that all probably has an autopilot, remote control options, hidden weapons and perhaps different modes like the cab.
Antonio, I am italian but I love the good British suits as the Italian ones! And well, Kingsmen and Bond's style are amazing, I pick up both!! Greetings from Germany!
OH. So you ARE some kind of god. Now I must watch all those Bond movies and start watching some Kingsman and I will only be focusing on the suits!!! Thanks for this awesome video and I look forward to every one for the next four years.
Of course, James Bond wins it. Btw, the best Bond look was Sean Connery in Goldfinger, when he changes in Goldfinger's plane and is wearing that awesome 3-pc gray suit.
I'd have to give it to Bond - every time I see a Craig Bond film, it makes me want to go workout and up my style. His style is very masculine and tangible. Kingsman is great, but at times, it seems too extravagant for most people to pull off.
This was a really interesting comparison. I've always thought DC's bond has the nicest casual looks. I didn't know Tom Ford was behind it. Good to know.
Point of contention for the casual look, Eggsy goes through 2 phases during the Kingsman films, starting pommy and then becoming a gentleman. This is why his casual wear is more street and sporty. We've never seen a pommy James Bond so a comparison between what a gentleman Eggsy wears casually would be interesting
If we're honest kingsman suits (As good as they look) were inspired Bond Suits. Harry's Grey double breasted Jacket was right out of The Man with the Golden Gun and The Navy stripe from skyfall and On her Majestys secret service.
The large Windsor knot sported by the Kingsman characters is more fitting for a used car or real estate salesman than a proper English gentleman...especially with a DB suit.
Or perhaps it's there because it's named after the fantastically stylish, King Edward vii, who was the Duke of Windsor. He also popularised plaid suits. Phil
For me, I’m a James Bond fan, been watching it sense I was a little kid, from the suits to the cars to the weapons to the Accessories & not to mention the beautiful women in the James Bond Franchises.....winner Bond.....James Bond, all though I do like the Kingsmen and John Wick movies, James Bond has been around a lot longer.
Hello my name is Sean and currently in 7th grade and you’ve really helped me feel more confident thank you ! Also the way I style my hair is by combing all my hair straight with a part and then silck back my fringe to the side of my head
Bond is more stylish. No question here. Kingsman suits are basically uniforms. Bond has the chance to express individuality and switch his attire in a very dynamic manner. His watch, his main gadget - or at least something he can carry on his hands or pockets (ring, phone, glasses, concealed weapons) - is always with him, regardless of which suit he's wearing.
This comparison was amazing and I agree with everything but I will give to Bond the last point because he has confidence and wear it in a classy manly manner!
Hey! I have a question that I really haven't been able to find an answer to. As you've stated in previous videos, a silk tie is the best quality tie. So I noticed something really interesting about a retailer where it says "Outermaterial: 100% Silk" and "Lining: 100% Polyester". I've also noticed that polyester is a cheap material, so when examining this tie in particular with these specifications. Is this a good quality tie or should I find something else? Thanks in advance.
Love the content, you are very confident and enthusiastic. There is however, such thing as to much eye (camera) contact. You might want to consider a more relaxed gaze so as not to be so unnerving(:
People saying Daniel Craig’s suits were 2 sizes too small obviously don’t know how a suit should fit. There’s nothing cringier than seeing someone wear an expensive suit that’s 2 sizes too big. Especially when you find out they spent 25-50k on that suit.
I’d have to go with a tie break also, it’s too close to call, Kingsman with their classic English elegance V’s Bond and his modern sharp sleekness, they both show that there’s being in fashion....then there’s having style!
I love the double breasted suits worn by the Kingsmen. Very classy sartorial style. The Bond suits worn in Spectre were at least a size or two too small. I agree the suits Bond wore in QoS were a much better fit. I am glad both the Kingsmen and James Bond are on our side..!!!!
I’d give it to james bond, Style its not all about what you wear. Its about how you wear , how you fit your attitude to each of your clothes. Bond just have the Elegance, he’s Sharp, Focus and Calm which makes him outstanding. You can also see how he handles every situation he makes his clothes be him and he doesnt make the clothes define me, he defines himself
Even though I am a big Bond fan, when I compare the Tom Ford suits, with the Huntsman suits from Kingsman, Tom Ford has no chance. The fit is terrible, way too tight. Brioni on the other hand, did an amazing job with Pierce Brosnan and Craig in Casino Royal.
next style battle i want to see Harvey Specter. Please vote to let him know, btw i choose 007, who cares about the close fitted suits, he has a great body and he shows it off, the Ivory dinner jacket with the red butoniere and the diamond shape black tie is simply incredible, in my opinion he pulls this outfit better than sean connery. the only thing i prefer about kingsman is the hairstyle of eggsy, just classic and business vibe, i love it. I would like to see Tommy Shelby also in a style battle. Pls vote this comment

In my opinion is Kingsman 🙏
Bond - Hands down!
Hi Antonio great video, my only problem is that you compare a character in several movies and a character in just two movies. As you said he’s been in a lot of movies, and you showed examples from several films compared to just two. Imho, I would have selected just two of the Bond films to go up against the two Kingsman films
Kingsman: briefcase rocket launcher + sheild
James bond: 200 hundred accessories
John wick: pencil just a pencil.
Really? John Wick was a bloodbath. Jason Borne improvised more.
@@jjryan1352 the Charisma of Bond, class of a Kingsman, fight as John Wick and the intelligence of Jason Bourne: perfect man!
John wick made the “ the pen is mightier than the sword” a whole new meaning.
And the amount of Aston Martins
Heath Ledger: now I’m gonna make this pencil....disappear!
Not to dismiss any of your points but, the most outstanding accessory that Bond has is confidence.
This is true, accurately true, amazingly true.
Bond confidence + Kingsman clothing style = Ultimate formal man
Kingsman had the same accessory as well. But that confidence was more focused on intelligence, wit and combat. Instead of women.
I’m giving it to Kingsman, the fact that it can even go head to head with bond and it’s history after only two films gives it the edge for me.
And there will be more movies in the future.
I loved how you started this video just going to the point without boring introductions.
The “shoe knife” appeared in From Russia with Love 1963, used by Spectre.

Wait, why are the female designers being referred to as "he"?
They aren't really girly names, so probably didn't realise they were female until he was grabbing photos while editing
grow up man, xd
I was wondering the same thing. But yeah probably didn't know until it was time to edit.
I'm going with Bond. I'd give him the mid based on his look from the funeral scene in Spectre. Check it out.
I loved Kingsman because of how they play with classic and modern. James Bond is nice, but not daring. Gotta make Kingsman win.
At the end of the day, they are all British. The Brits are just the inventors of style and class, so i chose both :)
Hey! Don't forget us! 🇮🇹 (Yes, I know, the Corona isn't stylish 🤣). But it's true: British invented the class...
@@corneliusscipio777 lol don't worry Italy will pull through. Stay strong!

James Bond takes it for me. He is really meant to blend into the crowd, yet he favors materials like Sea Island Cotton, the epitome of style understated but timeless and elegant
I'd go for Kingsman. Eggsy's orange tuxedo fits him very well. Very stylish.
It depends on the movie plot. While Bond comes from a noble background, Egsy is from a low-class working family. The movie shows how his looks and confidence changed when he became a Kingsman.
Props, this is SOOOOO tough lol. Both are suave as hell lol

Kingsman: Hidden spyware weapons
007: Weapons, cars, watches etc.
JOHN WICK: just a Pencil, a Pencil

James Bond all day long!

This was a amazing comparison.
I really appreciate your time and effort in the video making nice video stay bless 🙏👏
Thanks Gideon. Appreciate you watching this. Which side are you on?
I agree with everything except that I personally like Bond's sport wear better than the king's men. So I vote Bond in the tie breaker. Great vid!
I can’t let slide that line at the end. What they do with Swedish princesses. Lol amazing
I go with Kingsmen for sure in this concern.
RMRS always with beste video Ideas. 👌🏿
Love this videos. Outstanding work.
Thanks man. Had fun filming this video.
Good information 😊
Great versus video. Even though Austin Powers was the more fashionable spy.

It's kingsmen for me. Classic all the way. Also a big thank you Antonio for the amazing information you provide in your videos. They and you have helped me greatly.
One other character you should keep in mind when talking about fashion: JOHN STEED of The Avengers
The ultimate style-off!
I think James Bond takes this one. RMRS, you're doing good work. The trip back to the 60s, 70s to emphasis on the accessories is a good trait on the attention to detail.

You're a genius Antonio....leaving tie breaker to viewers
You mention Bond's polo shirt - that is a Sunspel Riviera polo. I have a couple and I love them, and I've never even seen Craig's 'Casino Royale'.
I'd have to give it to Bond - every time I see a Craig Bond film, it makes me want to go workout and up my style. His style is very masculine and tangible. Kingsman is great, but at times, it seems too extravagant for most people to pull off.

Great video, as always 💪
Im giving it to kingsman! They are so much more english gentlemen in both manners and in clothing and behaviour
I have to say for casual style with layering and texture the win goes to 007, James Bond.
Bond is an all time icon. No one beats him no matter what era it took place.
Point of contention for the casual look, Eggsy goes through 2 phases during the Kingsman films, starting pommy and then becoming a gentleman. This is why his casual wear is more street and sporty. Great content! IMO both James Bond and Kingman are both a win. However, Bond get more female action.
Kingsman is a parody. Of course they are going to be more ‘daring’ than James Bond.
not the comparison we need
the comparison we deserve

Classic double brest wins hands down. It's such a shame you don't see them really in Australia
Bond.
