This video may be old but this portrayal of JB is my all time favorite. Daniel did the most amazing job with the series and it will remain as the gold standard, at least in my eyes, for Bonds going forward. Thanks Daniel for all you did with the series and inspiring many men to self reflect on the way they see the world.
to be fair, the cast is doing press AGAIN for a movie that was supposed to come out TWO years ago and the majority of questions they get are not original or thought-provoking, so they're often rehashing the same stories and trivia over and over again. so yea, i mean, i get how he comes off here. if you deal boring cards to the actors, you get boring results. anyways, i'm glad he got one more movie in to tie up the loose ends and i'll miss him as Bond! edit: ?? some people seem to be misreading my comment. nowhere did i minimize the global pandemic (which, yes, is still ongoing, and yes, is why the delays happened). my original comment is about the SETUP of lackluster interviews and mind numbingly uninspired press perhaps, MAYBE, contributing to an actor's attitude during it. there are some other *recent* No Time to Die interviews that have way better atmosphere, some actually interesting questions, and are entertaining for both the actors and viewers. that's all :)
Oddly I only see your comment with this opinion and one saying how much they will miss him and he’s having to answer the same old Bond questions. Unpopular opinion - I am not a Bond fan, but always enjoy DC’s Bond films! Still miss Eva Green!
I’ve been to the northern fringes of Atacama in Peru and he’s right: the scenery is beautiful and the sky is HUGE. I got an incredible sunburn too - it was 2016 and an El Nino year, 100+ degs.
Craig played almost exactly what a man in his position would be. Broken, driven, almost used up but still have a few good fights left, sad and in denial, over compensates in every task. Longing to have his heart filled but knowing he will never have it. I didn't like Craig at first but now he is by far the best. Connery was the ultimate screen candy and in the early days was what we wanted a Bond to be. Craig is exactly what a real Bond would likely be. Messed up, nearly broken and driven by inner demons of a very personal nature. Craig will never be properly replaced.
IMHO I think Craig is the best Bond. However, it's unfair to compare them. Sean Connery was the best for his time for what was available at the time. 60 years' worth of movie-making evolution has improved things a great deal.
@@szewei85 True. Bourne changed it all. There's actually a good video on here titled how Bourne ruined action moves or something along those lines. Check it out, it has to do with the shaky cam too.
The gadgets don't really fit the tone set up by Casino Royale. Craig's first two movies were committed to the whole "gritty reboot" thing then it got kind of weird when they tried to reincorporate the campier elements. If the movies before the Craig saga didn't exist Bond's car suddenly having an ejector seat would have been pretty weird.

Well, the series would never be as good without you. You brought credibility to the character that none of your predecessors was able to. You could well be 007 in service of Her Majesty. My humble thanks to you for many hours of pure delight in front a screen.
The bond actor he resembles the most is Dalton. He was a ahead of his time when he chose to play the part how it was written in the books. I loved him both the living daylights and license to kill. I don’t think Craig could have done Bond the same way like Connery, lazenby, Moore or Brosnan. They were all good but all had many similar aspects to the role. After the borne identity movies it wouldn’t make sense to go back to that kind of Bond. Dalton and Craig will be two of my favorites to play Bond.
@@robertthomas5906 I don't think any of these Bonds really capture a real spy even remotely. And that's good because otherwise it would be a incredibly boring experience

He interviews about Bond a little like he plays him - this brashness, contempt, hurried feel to these questions. Craig is my favorite Bond because I read two of Fleming’s books and I think Craig’s performance is truest plus showed a great arc through the five films (I was crying at the end of the last one). If you think this is just how Craig is- watch him do an interview for another film and you’ll see a different side. He’s doing that interview with James Bond’s brashness (watch the way he flips each card to the floor and is dismissive of the bad questions) and it’s really cool to see.
I absolutely LOVED the James bond series starring him! To me he is such a believable Bond. Also, the movies were so rough and felt so real all the time (certainly thanks to him and the stuntmen). But yeah, I totally understand how hard it must be, especially after such injuries… To be honest, to me it’s gonna be really hard to top that actor! :)
Man, nobody asked about how the Bond series had to adjust after the lampooning the old Bond movies got with Austin Powers? I think that would've been fascinating to hear his thoughts on, since his tenure had to make sure not to fall back on those classic campy tropes anymore.
After watching No Time to Die all I can say without spoilers is Craig's portrayal of Bond in this movie is WAY more expressive than his previous ones, not to mention the previous actors' too. After watching this movie, all previous Bonds look wooden.
I just saw the movie. I don't know how to feel about it. I am so sad that this is Mr. Craig's last turn as James Bond. I know that he has had a love/hate relationship with the role but I have loved him in the role and I am 100% sure that he could do at least another Bond. He is in incredible shape and has just continued to grow in the role. I know it is not going to happen and I know this was meant to be his send off but really, think about doing another. I am 68 and maybe have only another one or two Bond movies in my life. I would love for it to be Mr. Craig. Deborah
Yeah i can see a bit of that Timothy Dalton style and manner in him.. the thing that is completely different though with Daniel Craig to all the other Bond's is he comes across as a stone cold killer when he needs to and makes you believe it
DANNY BOY! how are ya? listen, Mr. Craig. it has been an honor having you as James Bond. i've been watching your version's movies back-to-back in preparation for No Time to Die. you were an absolute treasure, sir. 😍
Just happy to know I am as fond of the attacama desert as a bond actor. I've never been to, but I've been dreaming of visiting since teenage years when I watched Top Gear drove crappy cars under the skies there.
Someone tell Dan we love him because he's not just James Bond. I feel like he really, really needs to be reminded. You're in all those other good movies, mate! And you can keep doing whatever you like. You're great. Don't worry, we'll keep watching.
Here's to Daniel Craig, who has had an amazing run as 007. The next actor has some huge shoes to fill for sure. Can't wait to see Daniel Craig's next movie, maybe we'll see a lighter side of him, kinda like Pierce Bronson in "The Matador"?
Nothing wrong with Craigs outfit and he got the body to wear it! It's early sixties fashion. Sean Connery wore sand brushed light red and blue for his first films. Craig's style is pure retro and on point. I paid lots for T's in those colours!
'Layer Cake' remains one of my favourite movies... I know he did lots of roles before Bond, but 'Layer Cake' must have been a big stepping stone for the role. Awesome soundtrack too btw.
"During my tenure" when discussing the suits shows Daniel's appreciation for the character and the role. I respect that very much. It's like he's occupying a public office.
daniel craig is my fav bond but i cannot wait to see what else he’s gonna do in years to come, he’s got SO much potential in something more comedic istg he can be hilarious it’s great
I like that CraIg's films have been less self parodies than the previous films. More real and raw like the original Connery films, although I liked Pierce Brosnan as an actor in his films. Brosnan's corny lines and the outrageous special effects of his films are a little over the top for me to watch now. I didn't really like the "Deus Ex Machina" aspect of Bond's gadgets. Can Q look forward in time to know exactly what gadget Bond will need? I think the Mission Impossible series does this a lot better. Not only are they going in with what they think they will need rather than having a time machine, often they glitch like you would expect a one off gadget to tend to do. The Parkour scenes in Casino Royale are great. My favorite, though, is the helicopter fight in Spectre. One of the best fight sequences of any film, I think. Looking forward to being able to watch "No Time to Die" a week early in Europe before flying back to the United States.
he didn't like doing bond. he didn't want to answer these questions, but did it for whatever reason. you can tell. He's great in other roles. "knives out", "the road to perdition", "munich"
Let's not mince words: when it comes to cinematic excellence, Sean Connery stands at the pinnacle. His rendition of James Bond is not just iconic; it's the gold standard against which all others are measured. Connery's Bond is suave, sophisticated, and undeniably cool, embodying the essence of Ian Fleming's creation like no other. Yet, as much as we adore Connery's portrayal, it's essential to acknowledge that the true depth of Bond's character is found within the pages of Fleming's novels. While Connery came close to capturing Fleming's vision, the full breadth of Bond's complexity can only be appreciated by immersing oneself in the original literary works. Like many, my perception of Bond was primarily shaped by the cinematic adaptations. However, upon delving into Fleming's writings, I discovered a world of intrigue and nuance that transcends the silver screen. Through audiobook renditions of Fleming's novels, I embarked on a journey of the imagination, where Bond's adventures unfolded in vivid detail, far exceeding the confines of the cinema. In hindsight, I'm grateful for the opportunity to experience Fleming's Bond in all his literary glory. It's a testament to the power of storytelling and the enduring legacy of a character who continues to captivate audiences across generations. So, to those who, like myself, have yet to explore Bond beyond the movies, I urge you to indulge in the auditory feast of Ian Fleming's works. You'll find that the true essence of Bond is far richer and more compelling than anything the silver screen can offer.
Daniel is the best Bond in my opinion; he’s the closest to the character I read in the Fleming novels. But I have mad respect and love for Connery as well.
I like Mr. Craig's down-to-earth attitude. He realizes he won the film lottery, and is humble about it. Not to mention, he is an accomplished actor outside of the Bond films. Best of luck to him!

I love how much love he has for Casino Royale. Probably my favorite of his Bond movies.
Daniel left behind a great, long and lasting legacy to the Bond series. When the next generation asks me for a sentence on his legacy, I'll answer likely something to the likes of, "He gave us a badass but human Bond." This video may be old but this portrayal of JB is my all time favorite.

Craig will never be properly replaced.
i love Daniel in this bond series with LESS gadgets. it's much better and more real action than any previous Bonds.
* fewer *
IMHO I think Craig is the best Bond. However, it's unfair to compare them. Sean Connery was the best for his time for what was available at the time. 60 years' worth of movie-making evolution has improved things a great deal.
Haha its because of Bourne series grounded action that made it more believable and trendy today. Minus shaky cam of course.

I used to think Dalton as well until Craig came along. It's subjective of course. I think Craig captures a real spy better.

The original Fleming Bond is a red head in the books.
Craig: do you expect me to quit?
Fans: no, Mr. Bond, I expect you to dye.
All of them are great: campy, extravagant Bond, Austin Powers, serious Bond. I like them all and there's no need to dismiss any of them.

I respect that he did his own James Bond... although he is to a degree reminiscent of Timothy Dalton...another great actor
Yeah i can see a bit of that Timothy Dalton style and manner in him.. the thing that is completely different though with Daniel Craig to all the other Bond's is he comes across as a stone cold killer when he needs to and makes you believe it

Nothing wrong with Craigs outfit and he got the body to wear it! It's early sixties fashion. Sean Connery wore sand brushed light red and blue for his first films. Craig's style is pure retro and on point. I paid lots for T's in those colours!
