Next month's patch notes: Mercy has finally had enough of your nonsense, and has gotten a sword. Now, instead of resurrecting their team, they simply parry death, which has a far shorter cooldown and no cast time.
I had it happen once to me on route 66, where I was play junkrat and killed an illari pylon while artillerying the enemy team and it came up as I deflected it and I was unbelievably confused
I saw it happen only once so far where an enemy genji deflect killed one of my team and then died, and his mercy rezzed him so it came up as a deflect rather than rez and i was soooo confused
to be fair, within most of these instances, the deflect symbol sorta works like an uno reverse card. like "reversing" death in Mercy's case, or reversing the existence of a player made object/ult, or reversing ur very own existence in the cass of downing urself
I love the random raging riptire ult at the last moment. Reminds me of a video I made years ago where I was playing OW1 with a friend while I was Reaper, and a riptire came around the corner towards my team. I used Wraith Form to try and run away, only to fall off the map and kill myself. Even 1 of our tanks saw it, we all had a good laugh. XD
I don't know how true this is. This is probably a visual glitch because things like Mercy Rez and Dva eating ultimates have their own unique icon when interacting with a player. For example Dva-> defense matrix icon-> snowflake (snowflake being Mei ult). This would mean Dva ate Mei ult. Another example is Mercy-> rez icon-> Rein (any player on same team). This would mean Mercy rezed Rein. I can't be mixing it up with Overwatch 1 as I've only been playing the game since last year. This is most likely just a strange glitch. Not to mention the fact that, as its obviously showcased, its Genji's deflect icon. The latest patch probably sees anything that isn't a straight up kill by normal means as a deflect or something
get_elim_icon() if deflect: return deflect_icon if revive: return revive_icon ... something like this. i wonder if the same bug appears after the defense matrix, revive and other things with unique icons, or they reset the flag properly after showing the elim in the feed
What I found funny is at the end is I went to pause it without knowing the tire would come out at the end so my eyes just widened when I saw that tire peak out XD
Similar mechanic with dva DM with notably a Moira heal ball in order to delete the projectile you have to "own" the projectile and for the split second the Moira orb is set to your team it'll heal a very substantial amount
So funny this gets posted now because just yesterday I was playing Lucio and our Mei de-meched Dva with boop, and I was so confused but this makes it make sense
I like that Marblr normally forces them to fix bugs. So we can finally fix the console bug of friendly outlines not working at the bottom quater of the screen.
