The Trolls movies are actually directly based upon those troll dolls that you see in the beginning, they just took some creative liberties with the designs.
When I saw the trailer for this movie, that's exactly what I thought of. The toys used to be very popular. Not so much when I was a kid, being born in 1999, but I still had some.
I thought so too. But I also thought of the tv show Trolls where they had gems, their hair where in weird shapes.
When I saw the trailers for this movie, it was the first time I thought, "Yeah, I'm too old for this." But, now that I've seen it, I have to say, I love the song covers, and Branch is just such a great, relatable character. And some of the jokes and gags were actually pretty funny.
What exactly about branch was relatable?

Is nice to see people who can appreciate Trolls as what it is and not just a kids movie.
I actually love this movie and the sequel. I think they're both excellent modern kids movies and honestly they're just a really fun world to spend time in. Glad you liked it.
"I just love how he's butt naked and nobody cares." In all fairness, the original troll dolls were naked.
Yup. Had a couple of them and was honestly more worried about their faces than their nakedness. They have pretty unfortunately cursed faces.
I actually sang Get Back Up Again for my third grade talent show! I have always loved Anna Kendrick and her beautiful singing voice, so naturally I tried my best to do it exactly like her. So glad you watched this movie, it’s such a fun one. Love your videos! ❤️💖💕

A lot of people say Trolls is a kid's movie, but I'm 18, and honestly, I really like that movie.
I love his colorful and varied universe, the songs are catchy and we have a very cute main duo. I love Poppy and her innocence, she tries to stay positive even when things are not going well and gives off a sincere benevolence when she worries about others💗(I recognize myself a little in her house). Branch is just as great. In addition to having a mentality a little closer to a real person (which gives him some cult lines), he has a pretty cute development to follow (and in vf, he's voiced by Matt Pokora, and he does a excellent work). He and Poppy are a cute yet entertaining duo and they complement each other very well.❤️
but despite my compliments, this film still has some small flaws. For example, I like Nuage man and I like his scene. But after that it's no longer useful and we only see it again at the very end. It's a bit of a shame because it looks like the scene is there just to release a gag that explains how our duo finds the right tunnel. And I have so many questions about Branch's past and his grandmother's death, but it would take a while to explain.
In short, I would say Trolls is good entertainment. He makes me feel good when I'm blue, bringing me back to that childish soul that I left behind. This film also doesn't reach the ranks like Kung fu panda or Madagascar, but I would find it exaggerated to say that this film is worthless (and its sequel is just as worth a look😉)

This movie isn't as bad as some make it out to be, it's not perfect but I think the reson people don't like this movie so much is due to how it was absolutely *everywhere* when this movie came out.
Kinda like why everyone hates *let it go* now. Because it was everywhere.
Yeah and it airs on Teletoon literally all the time. By that,I mean almost every month..
Same applies with Despicable Me and the minions. Anything that's popular at the time suddenly gets passed off as bad, when most of the time they don't get a chance. If you actually watch them, they're way better than haters credit them to be.
and of course people just _have_ to actively hate on anything that gets "too popular" for their liking 🙄
They were everywhere for a reason though :) cuz they were good

There's just one glaring flaw in the movie. In the intro, they said Bergens didn't know how to sing, but later we can hear Bridget singing a beautiful rendition of "Hello (is it me you're looking for?)".
Maybe only happy Burgens can sing? Idk lol.
We do know that sometimes Pop Trolls tend to glue and glitter their scrapbook to the point of inaccuracies. So it's possible that they never heard them. Another point is that Pop Trolls favour happy songs like when Poppy was at Lonesome Flat so they probably didn't register the more melancholy songs that Bergens sing
you're not supposed to take poppy's scrap book at the beginning as word of law. That's just the trolls understanding of Bergens. the whole theme of the movie is that the idea that Bergens can't be happy without eating trolls is wrong and they begin hinting at that with stuff like Bridget being in love with the king and singing about it.
It is SO good to see this movie being appreciated. I see so much negativity about it but its such a good movie

Very fun reaction and singing along! Also, now I am actually curious of a troll being sad when they are eaten makes a Bergen even sadder. The Bergen burying himself was sad.
Hearing the Bergens sing a Gorillaz song like “Clint Eastwood?” Comedy gold!
In fact, at the 2016 Comic-Con International. There was a DreamWorks panel featured there of upcoming movies. Trolls was the first up. Stars Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick were there to talk about it. That song played first and the attendees were either laughing or singing along to it.
But when the scene involving “True Colors” started, there were several in the audience quietly weeping as we heard it. It was sure touching to them.

Hi! There will be a third movie actually and there is a tv series now on YTV. Glad you have enjoyed the first movie. The franchise is getting bigger than you expected. It's based on the troll dolls from the beginning,a popular toy made by Thomas Dam and first created way back in late 1950's and introduced in 1959. There was an animated series called Trollz back in 2005 from DIC Entertainment. Now ever since the movie came out,there are troll toys based on the movie.
Hey Sophie, I usually just lurk on your videos but every time I see a Trolls reaction from a movie reactor I really like, I always leave a comment, since I'm always happy when more people like it because I really love it. The second movie was released a few years ago, I'd say it's even better, and there is a third one coming this november, if you want to see them!😊

If I was branch, I would have kicked everyone out of the bunker, no hesitation. That scene wasn’t funny, it was irritating. They acted like happiness was all they needed to survive, were reckless, and got half the village taken by troll eaters, all after Branch warned them. Now Poppy decides to throw everyone in his home without even asking? Hell no. All of them ridiculed him for being miserable, without even considering that he maybe had a reason and now they need him😂😂😂

Good reaction and commentary, glad you like the movie. Personally, this movie and its sequel are two of my favorite animated movies ever. Honestly, it saddens me that Trolls gets so much hate, because there's a lot of heart in this movie. Not to mention animation is great, love the arts and crafts inspired look so much, it's all so cute.

YES i love trolls!! its one of my top comfort movies, its so silly and fun and the music is GOOD idc what anyone says. the second one isnt that good imo but still good for kids
Great reaction, Sophie, as usual. Who doesn't love Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake? But I definitely agree with you as far as Bridget being such a great character! Of course, I may be a bit partial as I have ALWAYS loved Zooey Deschanel in everything that she has ever done.
This was alright compared to the other DreamWorks movies, it so unique even but the sequel I think is a lot better

I too saw this and avoided it for years because I didn't think I'd like it, then I watched it with my mom and bought it on youtube and watched it every day for a week or two NON. STOP. Seriously, it'd end and it restart it. All the time.
This goes to say when I see a movie i really like I watch it over and over until I'm tired of it lol

Trolls has a decent story, great villains, relatable heroes, and a great soundtrack. Literally just a feel good film in every aspect. It did feel a little too juvenile at points, but it was very good otherwise.

I like this movie! I’ve been looking forward to this reaction!
Trolls has a weird rep. Most of the songs aren't original, but they're solid covers, and there's a few lesser mature jokes scattered around, but the story over all is cute and fun enough.
Plus the style direction is nice, I think! It's soft and makes me think of scrap books or sewing

Yeah im not alone in liking trolls! Yeah i agree it really does get to much hate! People forget that while its sparkly and has alot of fluff, it has alot of satire and funny jokes 😂. the songs are catchy as well, and the animation textures are ❤

Hearing Can't Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake in this really takes me back to Summer 2016 in my seventh grade years where this song, and others like Cheap Thrills, Heathens, One Dance, and Don't Let Me Down, would play on the radio non-stop.

In response to you saying that she had nothing to do with watching the trolls, they did refer to her in the beginning as the keeper of the trolls. So I'm thinking maybe she hires the people who are supposed to guard the trolls. And yes, if you hire the wrong people that definitely looks bad on you.
