Hiya dear lady, a favorite tool that jewellers use is a steam cleaner. Perfect for behind gems gets the dirt out of engagement rings from inside the fitting. Removes flaked old skin, perfume, sweat, etc. Leaves jewellery sterile-ish, depending on use, heat, etc. Always hold the target in long, often wood tweezers. Not cheap, but I've yet to see an established, professional jeweller without one. Useful for you to really clean when you can. Stay safe...Steve...
Sounds awesome! The trouble is, most of my jewelry is costume and any kind of moisture will damage some faux stones beyond repair... I’ll look into tho - I love gadgets! Thanks for the advice and thanks a ton for watching! Cheers.

I often find an old ultrasonic toothbrush is good because of the small head size. Also a babys bottle brush often has a really tiny, flexible brush attached ( normally meant for cleaning the bottle teat) that is great for getting in at tiny, awkward spaces

I wish I had watched your video before trying to clean my jewelry. I found articles saying lemon juice and baking soda and it made the verdigris worse! It brightened it and spread around the little teeny tiny gem stones that are glued on. Now the jewelry's little stones are mostly dull. I will give the vinegar a try - can't imagine it would do more damage, and if the stones fall out oh well, they turned green anyway. The piece was a vintage (90's) Christian Dior necklace. Whoops. If you have recommendations for preventative cleaning I would love to hear. This piece has been sitting in a velvet box untouched over two years (ahem, 2020). Thank you for this video.
Oh no!!! Sorry to hear about your Dior. Not sure about preventative, but I use some of those moisture wicking packets on some of my jewelry drawers. Moisture is not a friend to jewelry. Good luck to you and thanks for watching!!!
You are so right about the vinegar--works wonders! I actually use a solution of vinegar, water, and Dawn. One caveat, however: I've learned not to soak too long because it can discolor the metal and give it a dark or coppery tint. Yikes!

Hi I love your videos so much. I just want to share this with you, in case that you have not try the ultrasonic jewelry cleaning machine is just amazing to clean the jewely without damage them. It clean perfectly the tiny tiny dust and green oxid that the jewelry has. Use it with normal soap. Just don't put jewelry with small rhinestones or glued stones becase tgey can come off.

The brown pin had what looked like pearls on it..... Can you work with vintages and pearls?
So, faux pearls are usually made of glass (or plastic) with a coat of "paint" on top. Vinegar and/or scrubbing can take that coat off, so you need to be careful. I examined my piece closely and those
fake pearls looked to have a nice, thick coating that was completely intact. I would not try using a toothbrush or vinegar with a very delicate, worn out piece. And, of course, NEVER with real pearls! Hope this was helpful -- thanks for watching. Cheers! xo
