  • How To Harvest Rhinestones
    A few people have asked how I harvest rhinestones out of my jewelry to be used to repair jewelry. This video shows how I remove the rhinestones / crystals from my scrap / broken jewelry to repair other jewelry that I have.

    I wet a glued in stone jewelry piece for only a second and the stones fell out!! I couldn’t believe the glue dissolved THAT FAST!!
    I’m thinking, if you wet the piece a little, it might help soften the glue?
    If you don’t want to wet the piece because of foil back, does the foil generally stick to the brooch? Or the gems?
    How do you match stones to repair pieces of jewelry? That would make a great video! :)
    Lastly, how do you glue the gems into the piece you are repairing?
    Thanks so much!

    Why is the foil backing needed. Do all rhynstone come with a foiled backing?

    can you do this and then put other crystals on the pin? Like, to replace them? I have a beautiful pin but the gems are not cute at all

    It's pot metal not pop metal --I use cc and it often is wrong. Do bots do the cc? I don't know.

    When you poked yourself I laughed, thinking that’s not a stone .... have you ever tried soaking them out?

    • @RTC_Raven
      @RTC_Raven 6 лет назад

      Or even soaking them to loosen them up?

    • @PrincessCasserole
      @PrincessCasserole  6 лет назад +2

      Miss Raven haha I do it all the time! Good thing I don’t film myself hammering a nail. I don’t soak because it can take off the foil but if I just needed the stones out to replace that’s a good idea. Or if unfoiled.

    • @sandramccormick8326
      @sandramccormick8326 6 лет назад +1

      Princess Casserole you could just re-foil the stones if they come off a piece without the foil, unless of course you're trying to keep the authenticity of the rhinestones.

    • @PrincessCasserole
      @PrincessCasserole  6 лет назад +2

      Sandra McCormick I haven’t heard of a fool proof method for re foiling. Do you know of a good one? I’d love to learn one.

      Hi raven i would like to ask if there is anything to add on to the water to make them just fall out from soaking?
