    Just watched your video from Feb 15, 2018. I've been looking for a foam gun just for a water hose. Your description, comments, suggestions and video, fully persuaded me to buy this product. Thank you for sharing.

    I've been using my Gilmour Foammaster II for three years now. It is definitely a quality product. The only thing that sort of sucks is that in order to get the best use out of it you need to use a lot of soap in the reservoir to get thicker/clingier foam. Usually I run 50% warm water/soap with my Chemical Guys or Meg's M62. It works the best with 100% but you burn through product. The soap tends to run off more versus a foam cannon w/ pressure washer because of the water concentration so you need to really work one panel at a time.

    i had the original gilmour works amazing but i recently traded up to the MTM foam cannon. I also love the Colinite 915 takes long time to apply but its honestly the best wax ive ever used. I was used to those synthetic waxes in the liquid form but they don't even compare. One of my Favorite RUclips channels Great work man!

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  6 лет назад

      Thanks for the feedback Tyler yes the MTM is in a different league for sure but if you cant get a pressure washer the Gilmour is the one to get, the 915 is the best kept secret i have been using it for over 20 years. Those liquid waxes are jokes but until you switch you will never look back. Send me some photos of your car via email. AF

    Thank you very much for reviewing this awesome product. I was initially in the market to buy a pressure washer solely to use a cannon to was my cars but this saved me from doing so!!! Very good, solid build quality. Im not a car show detailed person but definitely like my cars clean and shiny, and this DEFINITELY does the job for me. Thanks again!!!!

    Nothing is like a foam cannon with a power washer. I get such thick aids on my truck with that and the honey dew. It’s amazing but in the winter time, I really don’t wanna hook all that power washer stuff up. This is quick and much easier.

    Foammaster actually makes the CG green foam gun you had in your video and the Detail King version. The Adams foam gun you showed is the exact same one as the budget offering from CG. I wonder who makes those. Adams also has a premium foam gun that's all made in USA. I love my Gilmour Foamaster 2.

    They hopefully have improved the spray bit, as it was spraying far too much at the ground. I'd like to use a foam gun, but my water pressure stinks. I think the city limits it. A pressure washer is only about $125 for an electric one. Perhaps the better choice? Thanks as always!

    Noticed the amazon link in your comment takes me to a Gilmour 75QGFMR which has a plastic piece in the connector (unlike yours in the video) ? Did you replace that? My chemical guys foam gun didn’t last a year til the spring broke. Couldn’t repair had to trash. Plastic sucks. Glad I found this video!

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  6 лет назад

      My Gilmour had a black plastic bumper guard which broke off over the years it is not needed as the main body and connections are solid brass.

    • @ahmed9399
      @ahmed9399 6 лет назад

      Got mine recently (ordered gun only - did not place a separate order for the brass quick connect kit). On the gun end (before fitting the tank) it had a plastic quick disconnect/release end which has an internal spring (the plastic was not a bumper but rather the quick disconnect mechanism itself that slides and compresses the spring). To be specific, the male side of the connection (that is attached to the tank) is brass but the female side (that is attached to the gun) is plastic not entirely but the piece that holds the spring. This means a couple drops of the gun on the ground with minimal impact would bust the spring (just like my previous chemical guys gun). I had hoped that the gun end actually comes with a brass quick connect kit and the 2nd link in your description was a spare. Does the "Gilmour Hose Brass Quick connect kit" have an internal spring? How does it connect and disconnect? I dont see a release on it? you know the internal ball bearings the spring and all.

    ?! Wth....my Round Up weed sprayer puts out more foam than this. Looks like your your garden hose putting out 5 psi. I believe the products you have work when used properly with the correct amount of pressure..good video anyhow and you're right .. always I mean always!, go with the brass fitting options.

    • @lockergr
      @lockergr 4 года назад

      City water can limit PSI. They do it on purpose to us. It's why I need a power washer, but I have no garage and no outdoor storage and no basement--I'm screwed for car care. Everything I use winds up in my kitchen pantry on the floor.

    I don't think they're made in the US anymore. If it's China made , the nozzle's trigger will NOT last a year. The spring in Gilmour's nozzles used to be made of Stainless Steel. Unfortunately they ceased to be once gilmour started outsourcing manufacturing to China. They even used to market the fact that their spring was Stainless Steel. Now they ignore anyone who asks them about it. If it's made in china, the spring will rust and break guaranteed. But as long as the connection between nozzle and foam container is brass I'm fine with it. Just remove the nozzle once the trigger freezes. And just connect a valved hose directly to the container via quick connect. At least I hope it can be connected that way. I plan to buy gilmour's foamaster.

    The one thing that keeps me from buying a foam gun is the lack of hot water. I can fill up a bucket with hot water and Mothers Carnuba Wash and Wax and the solution mixes better than with cold water, plus I would think cleans better than cold water.
