More foam does not necessarily mean that it cleans better. It could mean that chemical guys has more sodium laureth sulfate or something similar in their soaps. SLS is a surface surfactant which reduces the surface tension of water that’s responsible for making bubbles. But the general public still believes that it’s the foam that does the cleaning, instead of the actual cleaning agent. Foam, however, reduces the chance of scratching the paint because as I mentioned, the surface tension is reduced, thus increasing lubricity.

aquarianuw - Car Stuff but if the foam stays on the car longer it gives the chemicals a better chance to soften up and pull away more contamination. On the other hand I have seen thick foam do absolutely nothing to the grime. It all has to do with the correct chemicals used in the foam. The Adams could be cleaning the loose contamination 10x better than the chemical guys🤔 I have watched a test video on the chemical guys honeydew foam and it didn’t clean well at all, barley did anything, but have very impressive thick foam. The best product I have seen is Auto Finesse Avalanche with very thick foam and amazing cleaning ability.

Having just tried both the Adams Ultra Foam and CG Honeydew Snow Foam... I prefer Adam's much more. The Honeydew seems to foam a bit more at first. But it quickly slides right off the car. Adam's foams slightly less at first, but it stays on the car longer and dirt and grime and insects seem to lift right off the car much easier than with Chemical Guys Snow Foam. I will be sticking with Adam's.

the answer to your problem is that you need to change the orifice to 1.1 instead of the 1.25 it comes with that foam cannon, it's not your fault and it's not the shampoos fault either. So give it another try with the 1.1 orifice.

I love how people think "thickness of foam" or its ability to build up or stay foamy, directly contributes to a better cleaning product?
Thickness of foam does not clean your car better. But some how people have relates that to a better product. Yes a foam would lift/carry dirt but it's thickness does not really have anything to do with it..you're paying alot of money for something that both products do the same thing in the end. Soaping your car and falling off. Best way to clean your car will always be a 2-3 stage wash with clean/dirty buckets. Followed by regular paint corrections and waxings for protection.

    • @adog7787
      @adog7787 5 лет назад

Thickness of foam and how long it stays does equate to longer period of the product on the surface. That means more time for soap to aid in cleaning.🤦‍♂️

I see a lot of people changing the orifice to the 1.1 in an effort to get thicker foam, but what these people all have in common is they are all using electric pressure washers at about 1800 psi. Like yourself I own a REAL pressure washer, Gas powered 3000 psi. Is it necessary to change the orifice when using the gas powered washer to get more foam? Did you try that? I’m afraid to overwork my pressure washer with a smaller orifice without knowing first if it’s safe for the washer itself. Looking forward to your response.

freshdc a little biased honestly for the bucket comparison, says he used 3 oz of Adams and less than 3 oz of Chemical Guys but from looks, it seems more like he used more CG than Adams. It might be that the CG guys is a little more watery and it spreads out more but from the comparison, it really looks like he used more CG product. Also a bit suspicious with the foam cannon comparison. It was looking nice for the Adams until he cut the video and started to spray what seemed to be a more watered down ratio. Just look at the fender and back bumper and the actual stuff looks like it's still there quite well. Never used any of these products, I'm not a detailer, don't sell any product or post links to get a commission. I'm just watching videos for leisure and potentially buy products for my personal use but this comparison looks a little biased from the gecko. With links to description of video of mostly CG products, one should be skeptical if this is an honest review.

It's not a fair comparison, you did not wet the car before spraying the Adam's foam. I don't care either way. Of course the foam will stick to a dry surface and fall with a wet surface. It's called surface tension.

I like Chemical guys but my problem with it is it leaves behind a product that is meant to add shine and it makes your wax appear to be gone but what it is doing is just covering your wax.

Nice video. I noticed you sprayed Adams product for around 34 second where is CG’s for only 21 seconds. I think the longer you spray the more runnier the foam will gets. I could be wrong. Also we did not see you set the foam ratio on the the max on the gun for each test. Not trying to be a troll here. Just trying to keep it real. I have not tried any Adams products yet. So for I’ve only used CG’s Mr Pink and McGuire’s gold class as far as name brands go. I though the CG’s Mr pink was just ok. I myself got more foam from McGuire’s. And I think it cleaned the mud and dirt off my truck better than CG’s Mr pink. You should try it. You to might like it better. But first you must have a dirty car. Lol.
PS: All these foam video are getting out of hand. Can we go back to which product clean your car better and faster.

AF, Great Video as always!! So we're sticking with CG Snow Foam? And you mentioned that the Watermelon/Honeydew is the same except for the scent ? I have two questions for you regarding the
Subaru Pressure washer and MTM gun, if I may. I was able to try out my new Subaru Washer yesterday. You were spot on in your evaluation video. It is superior to any electric washer on the market!! I did however find that the hose that comes with it is rather cheesy. Did you change your hose to another one ? I also tried my new MTM foam cannon, holy shit dude!! The problem I'm having is it has too much pressure!! I there some type of flow control valve, or pressure reducer that I can get? I emptied my gun in like two seconds. I'm used to my Gilmour garden hose driven gun, two different animals, both good, but different. I know this is the wrong video to attach this to, but any help would be appreciated.

Alan my blue hose is a kink free hose 50ft, and my water hose is 100ft this also knocks some pressure down and i use the Simpson Dial and Wash to regulate it more, works outstanding in some of my other wash videos i discuss these products and have links to the exact stuff i use. If you cant find the info email me direct il send you a reply with everything including the quick connects and fittings.

So I compared the audio and visual pressure of the foam cannon between the two shampoos in your video, and it seems when you are using the Chemical Guys, your pressure washer has a higher output of water, and the noise of it is significantly louder. Did you do something to it?

Mr Pink will give the Honeydew a run for its money. I’ve been using it for years in foam cannons and in 5 gallon buckets with just a wash mitt... and i still haven’t found anything that can beat it (overall) in performance. Not to mention the bubble gum smell!
Next challenge: Mr Pink vs. everyone else

This videos seems very strong towards the side of chemicals guys but that’s just my opinion, personally the Bucket test looks screwy from the start, the Adams looks a lot more dense in the bucket test, and then your whole part of the video using the Adams in the foam cannon seemed very suspicious, I would agree that they’re both great but if your going to do videos like this gotta stay a little more neutral wether you like one more than the other

    • @autofanaticcars

its just a basic old soap video you are welcome to buy the products and take the time to share your own experiences with others on YT but these are the results I got that particular day. In the end all of these soaps are cheap and suck and I do not use any of them at present time.

To begin with I am not experienced auto cleaning guy (lazy method = car wash). Just purchased a 19' SS Camaro and I like to to do my own washes for a change. Don't intend to throw the kitchen sink...planning to purchase the Sun Joe 3001 washer to include several of the "Chemical Guys" side products. My question is if CG foam soap a dual product... like to use as the "2 bucket method"?

yes i have learned that since developing my own product line and car shampoo. However you can have thick foam and great self cleaning if you use proper chemistry, most of the mega foaming soaps on the market offer little to no self cleaning properties and are loaded with cheap surfactants.
