- Before the launch of the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro 2020 12.9." I thought I would finally get my hands on the Smart Keyboard Folio for my brand new 12.9" model. It's an interesting product to say the least, one I am actually really enjoying but not without it's quirks and negative aspects. In this video I essentially review it in talking about its negative and positive aspects.
This is not the latest Apple iPad, but it is faster than I thought. It has a great screen and it holds a charge pretty well ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U . I was concerned that it would not be powerful enough because I have several older iPads that are slow and cannot update to the latest software. But this 10th Gen has the speed and power. I do not use it for video editing, so having an M2 processor is not necessary for me. This iPad model has an A14 processor. So far so good. Glad I bought it. It helps having a larger screen compared to my Apple phone.

Alex Black I agree. I was pissed because I had to buy the smart folio keyboard to hold me off until the magic keyboard releases. Now I’ll have spent well over half the price of the device itself on accessories.

I wouldn’t necessarily call it a case... at least not a protective one! If you want something that will protect your iPad from everyday use and being in your bag... probably not the best choice! But, the keyboard is definitely something quite a few people needed so it was a good shout by Apple in that respect!
May, UAG sells a case to go around the keyboard case to offer more protection.

I have been using iPads for work for many years now and I am thankful for your channel as it's so hard to find good resources and videos on how to get more out of your iPads. I too went with the smart keyboard for my 2018 11" iPad Pro. Yes, it's pricey, but I find it still offers the best integrated experience. It's very convenient to detach and attach and you don't have to worry about charging or pairing. It basically addresses most of the issues I had with other keyboard cases. I think you will find that once you have gone with the Smart Keyboard, you can't go back, however obscene the price may be. And Apple knows it.

It seems like some people love this case and others don’t care at all about it. I have been conflicted in wanting to purchase this product because of the price, protection concerns and rumors I have heard about magnets not being strong enough. Thank you again!!!
Honestly I’ve had the iPad Pro 12.9 keyboard case for over a year and while I do like it, the case is starting to fray split on the corners. Disappointing for the price. Having said that I am really looking forward to the newer keyboard case

They could'vr EASILY included a row of function keys above the number row of keys. That is so stupid given how much these keyboard cases cost 🤦🏽♂️🙄

Just notice that the magic keyboard doesn’t have the play and pause button skip brightness low and high . I have my 2020 iPad Pro and I’m using the magic keyboard 2 and the Magic Trackpad and they have those physical buttons because I can press the play button with touching my iPad and the music would start . I think for now might use that money for apple care instead ✌️

I like the Smart Keyboard, I have one for my 10.5” iPad Pro. The problem is that it sucks on your lap half the time and I even had to get a new one because the magnets stop working. Also no backlighting hurts. Other than that it works and I don’t mind typing on mine.

Just a tip watch out for wet surfaces it will mess up the leather and when you are done using it close it don’t leave it open the sensors will get messed up eventually.

I have a couple of keyboards and, while I really like how portable it is, one of the biggest issues I’ve had with Apple’s Smart Keyboard is that the material it was made of (this is the 2018 version) was not very good. For a $200 keyboard, it did not last very long. It was wearing so badly that I had to get a vinyl skin. As a result I switch between the Apple Keyboard (when I need portability) the the Brydge (when I just need to get work done).
I feel like adding the brydge keyboard will be better when comparing it to the macair. Due to its metallic finish it would look more like a laptop and the hinge mechanism gives more angles to put the ipad on. Imo ipad pro 11inch (265) + apple pencil 2+ the upcoming brydge pro keyboard (adding up to $1200) would be the best laptop replacement for most students.
Oh thanks I was thinking about getting one for my tablet but I think I should wait for something more comfortable to deal with

Dude, if you pull the iPad from the keyboard from a corner then its more easy then pulling it straight up because then you get the full force indeed.
Have this case for my 2018 iPad Pro. This thing wont protect your device at all. It's great to use, but offers very little protection. Shattered my screen from a 3 foot fall.

Hi Noah! Try Logitech's case! I think it's protects your ipad more and it's cheaper.
Also try the Brydge! It's pretty expensive but I think it's nice.

Hey that happened Get Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 ear buds with noise cancelling. They’re much better than Air pods pro and the release date is tomorrow. I preordered them a month ago. I have Beats Studio 3 wireless that I bought when they were new and even those can’t compare. Here’s the lesson: don’t buy headphones or earbuds from Apple. Buy computers, tablets, phones, and I suppose watches if you’re into that.
Hey that happened By the way, the reason I know how good they are without using them is because they are the second generation. The first generation released last year. The new ones offer much better battery life and noise cancelling while maintaining audiophile level sound quality.

Noah, I liked the video. I would agree if you are going to do any sort of writing a physical keyboard is a must. Personally, I prefer the Logitech keyboards but I do agree, try the keyboard out before buying.

Hey Noah, the one thing that holds me back from buying iPad pro is its bending problem. If I invest that much of money, I would use that device for like 30-40 years (well sort of). But if bends within its life cycle, how will it justify that much amount of money. I want to suggest you to make a video regarding best iPad pro case that has keyboard and safe from bending. Shubham Nagare the only way it would bend is if your careless with it. It’s like a laptop it won’t bend if it’s someplace secure but if it’s not secure and you put it on a situation where it might bend than that’s not the products fault. Especially with a $1000 tablet. Your going to baby it and take care of it

Yes I will pamper it like a baby but when it is in my backpack, how can I control it? Secure case in this regard will be helpful. And if it with keyboard, then it will be like diamond in coal mine. Shubham Nagare i understand but how is it in your back pack. I’ve put it in a laptop compartment in a back pack, but i make sure there’s nothing in there that can cause any extra stress. Plus it’s in a case that provides extra strength in the sides. It’s not like a phone your going to put in a pocket and maybe sit on it weird. Nobody on RUclips has made any crazy legit video on hey my iPad Pro bends.

While heavier then the Apple Folio Keyboard, the Logitech Slim Folio Pro is far superior in every way. Backlit and function keys. Oh, and it won’t fall out of case plus adds protection.

All RUclipsrs testing the Smart or Magic keyboard are just doodling with the Apple Pencil. As a student I use the pencil allot on OneNote during lectures and when using LiquidText for reading books and law material. That requires to be able to switch quickly from Pencil writing to keyboard mode. The Magic looks definitely magic, the smart is sort of smart, but all of them are lacking in something. The new Logitech design that looks allot like the MS surface seems like a pretty good design for that, but the whole MS software and weird pencil experience just plain is not my style. I’m so confused on if I should go Smart og Magic. Or should I wait for the real student version of Logitech for the new iPad Pro’s?
simple question - do you know if it's possible to use the smart folio cover from the old Ipad Pro? I would assume the magnets are identical apart from the cut hole for the camera (and I don't usually take photos with an Ipad :)).

I had it for over a year and it was fine. But the material was terrible and it started peeling and wrinkling and tearing so I made Apple give me a refund since we’re covered by consumer law here in Australia for free beyond the standard 1 year warranty
