Real Men Real Style can ypu please make a video on what shoes to wear when it's raining, or for different climatea and also how to care for it. Another thing please make a video about the colour green, i mean i have a pant but i don't know how to wear it.
I wear suede shoes almost always in London, waterproofing spray saves you and it's a must if you want to wear suedes. Btw there is a conditioner for suedes made by Saphir but you need to learn how to use it.
Before you try anything on the stains, please try the pencil eraser first. I am absolutely SHOOK by how well a regular ol' school pencil eraser just cleaned a pair of very expensive Italian two-toned (tan suede/brown leather) loafers. While polishing the heel, I got brown Kiwi shoe polish on the suede. In addition to removing other stains, the eraser removed the brown polish! I watched a number how to clean suede videos and I cannot thank you enough for a video with tips that actually work. 💋
Actually, if you use the water-protecting spray properly, suede shoes are better in rain than regular leather shoes. Suede with the silicone spray simply ignores water, while regular leather will absorb some amount regardless of how many creams and waxes you put on it.
I bought some suede work boots that were advertised as waterproof, they must have came with silicone spray on them cause I could run them under the sink and the water would just repel off and not soak in a drop. I’ve since washed them and used leather conditioners and waxes, I’ve never had any problems with them soaking through to my feet despite being in watery muddy areas and stuff, but I think I should try some silicone based spray cause they soak up a bit of water now.
Great video! Been wearing suede sneakers for years. Adds texture and style to shoes. The material is softer than leather and more durable than canvas. My dad has been teaching me how to take care of suede and it seems my old man knows his stuff!
Really great video. What I like is that you don't assume anything is obvious but really go over every aspect of the subject in detail. Helps to avoid any misunderstandings.
Imad man I had to toss my timberlands after 3 years, it was too far gone, plus the wheat color is just prone to stains. Going with a leather boot this time.
Now this is great info. Shoes are like tyres. No matter how great your car looks, it is defined by your tires. If your tires look bad on your Bentley, take the bus. I just started sporting suede and it looks great, but I wanted to ensure it looks clean at all times. Now, I don't have to worry about that anymore. You have one satisfied fan here, at the moment. Thank you!
My work boots are suede. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them again. It’s super tough and doesn’t scratch nearly as easily as smooth leather, meaning you can scrub and brush it pretty hard with no worries about scratching. When mine get really dirty, I run em under the sink and brush em (which is what’s nice about suede, you can brush it with very stiff bristles, even a wire brush) and they come clean super easy. I’ve also used beeswax and coconut oil, as well as other conditioners and stuff which gives it a rustic waxed leather type look, then after some use and a wash and brush it just comes out and they look like new again. I actually think I like it better than smooth leather, you’d think it’d be more delicate, but I’ve found the opposite, it’s tougher because it’s very hard to scratch.
Good timing. I honestly wished for this video. I just purchased my first pair of suede shoes. A pair of Thursdays midnight suede scout boots. I’ve been researching how to care for suede, and had already searched your channel specifically looking for a video about it.
I only bought the suede boots cause that's the one that fit me the best... now I'm here. I'll save this video. I'm gonna need it cause with the Caribbean's unpredictable weather you'll never know when rain is gonna suddenly attack ya shoes
I was totally invested in finding a way to clean my 2 year old seude, till I came across this video.Well, couldn't thank RMRS enough for sharing this video.
Sweet now I know how to clean my timberland boots. But I kind of like the small stains and wear. It gives it character just like my worn scratched up everyday carry knife and flashlight.
Bro, you DO NOT, have to waterproof your suede shoes once a week! You get a good waterproofing system (Jason Mark is my go2) and apply 2 even coats. Apply the first coat, Let them dry COMPLETELY, then use a soft suede brush to re-nap. Then you wanna repeat one more time. That should do you justice for 6-8 months, maybe longer, if you’re careful with them. You can wear them everyday, just don’t go around jumping in puddles, and mud. Just be good to your suede, and it will be good to you, FOR LIFE. Also, save the box, and put them back in the box when you’re done wearing them. Clean the soles and outsoles before putting them away, if they’re noticeably dirty.
Suede are great. The very thick ones like 3 mm is like wonderfull stuff. Suede have a soft, casual but very stylish look over them. Perfect for like an informal suite. It does not look stiff. You look soft and inviting. It is no moore is moore over them, like when little girls dress the princes style, as some moore formal suites can have. Formal brown well taken care of, suede shoes looks much better than black oxfords, many times. Black oxfords could be nice but are very overused, especialy in cheep and bad "lether".
Thanks for the video sir. For now i just have cayote brown suede on my military boots. I love it, soft, scratch resistant and cooler on foot. That coyote brown blend with dirt colour well and "self camo".
I’ve got water and oil stain on my “waterproof” suede boot and it’s darkening. If I have to brush and powder the boots every time I take it out in the rain, it is not worth my time. It is just too much maintenance. Sorry.
so, my suede shoes got wet, and I did not know how to take care of them and let them just be (air dry etc) but now they look smooth. I tried suede brush, eraser etc. but nothing worked and I think I damaged it. Do you guys have a solution for me or is it all dead?
Might not be great for the material but all I do is pop them over the bathroom sink rub in some shower gel or hand soap and scrub using my hands then wash off with hot water, soaking the outside completely until all soap is gone then rub dirty area with towel to dry and get out any left in dirt then leave to dry then next day they look as good as new
Real Men Real Style I have a decent brush that I use every time I wear them. I'll need to try cornstarch and get my hands on some of that spray though.
hi, I have a pair of green derby’s… the suede fibre has become strangely long and loose due to regular brushing and cleaning over time… i clean my shoes properly and use suede spatter spray which makes them look new but couple of days wearing brings out the fabric again and the shoes looks pretty bad with shade spots due to long strands… kindly suggest if the same can be fixed… thanks…
I'd like to use my new suede chukkas with dark denim jeans but I read that they get stained by the dye of the jeans. Any suggestions to avoid this happening? Or should I just avoid wearing them with jeans. Thanks
Antonio please help me on this one. I sprayed a water proofing spray on my suede. I know some darkening is normal but it dosen't turn back to normal color now its dried. What should I do?
Hi, I used Crepe Brush on my sneakers it made the suede hair long not short as it was before I used the brush . Any way to bring it back to the original way it was before I used the brush ?
Ronnie from NYC... suede is hard to keep up but with information you provided I will be able to keep up with sweet items such as shoes hats and coats and gloves appreciate the tip as always looking forward to building my own wardrobe one piece at a time with your help I will be able to do that thanks again.. Ronnie from NYC..!
Thnaks to this video Ive recovered some really old shoes I though where dead. Ihve cleaned and brushed them but I have one question. The color of my shoes y really lighter than it used to be. Do you think its ok to repaint them? would that damage the suede?
Well... wish I watched this before treating my suede Chelsea Boots... Is it okay to wear the boots if they haven’t been drying for 24hours? I have a party in about 4 hours and didn’t know that o needed to dry them for 24hours.
i have a suede hat and it is starting to have a weird smell. any tips on how i can get rid of the odor? i was thinking of hand washing it while using detergent and warm water.
What a sight for sore eyes, just stained my suede double monks yesterday, managed to get it out today, I dont have enough fingers to count the times I've said"thank god for antonio and RMRS. One suggestion for a video, how to get the creases out of leather shoes and how to prevent creases, in my opinion they look awful.
Long shot, but was wondering if you could help me out, so i dropped a few drops of hot wax by accident on my suede shoes and yeah, it left some pretty terrible marks on it, is there any way i can remove them, fix it or just sort of make it a bit less noticeable so i can wear the shoes? To anyone out there with a good suggestion, thank you in advance!
Lovely video.. people avoid suede just coz they r scared of the damage that suede has to deal with. Well I have a few suede boots n shoes but I just love suede n am not afraid to buy suede. N now with the help of this video neither should u be afraid.

Hello again! When would we use the Saphir Renovateur from your leather product group? I looked for instructions with that item. I probably just overlooked it. Thank you again. I am getting a pair of J. Crew flats made in Italy in turquoise and they need cleaning.
Help.. i used crep cure to gently brush my suede and now its dry, it left such a liquid stain but i cant pull it out since it dried... What should i do.. need help.
Perfect timing! I just got a low budget pair of brown seude robert wayne chuckas. And ive worn them twice and needed a good cleaning technic. Is there a brand of brushes you proffer?
Great video. I purchased a pair of suede shoes that was on sale. It was a great deal but it had a small spot on one of the shoes. Can I used an eraser. thanks
Hello! Thank you for nice video. This video is educational for me. So, have you been uploaded to maintain polished leather shoes? If you were not make a video which you take care of polished leather. Could you please upload to maintain one.
What about Oiled Nubuck Leather? (Like the ones found in Palladium Boots or Birkenstock) Do you need (or can you) you leather conditioner like leather honey?
Hello, I had a water stain on my brown jacket, and I used a brush and eraser to get it out; that was accomplished, however the color became slightly faded. Any advice on how to restore the color? Thanks!
Best possible way to restore its color And protect against water/stains is mink oil as the final step once suede item is clean and dry. May I suggest the. Angelus Mink oil (and also acts as a waterproofer). It tends to revive it beautifully and using multiple coats of it will bring a nice slightly darker look to whatever color it is. 👍🏽👍🏽😁
I didn't know about this material and I washed it with shampoo. Now it rough, color is dull and there are some stains I can't get out, anyone can guide me what to do now?.

Noted! thanks for the suggestion.
Before this video I was afraid of wearing my suede shoes.
Now that I've seen how to take care of them, I am even more afraid :D
🤒
😂😂😂👌
Instructions unclear, suede boot stuck in my mouth
I bought one and now I wanna return it. As much as it's elegant and awesome, it's so hard to deal with.

@showbizonastick wtf
I was just wondering how the pencil eraser trick might work, compared to the other tools/techniques. Good to know. And thanks for sharing!
I have destroyed my old suede shoes and lovely Suede jacket. Now I realized they required a lot of care and attention. Thanks RMRS ! A fruitful Video
I was reluctant to go suede, but this excellent tutorial has swayed me. :-)
Don’t you mean “suede” you?
Ok I’ll leave
😁
Wow
🤣🤣🤣
No

I was really confused what to do when I stained my suede shoes but your video turned out to be a total Savior.

Antonio...THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH MAN. I was literally having this convo with my friends yesterday. You are a lifesaver!
You are welcome!
Very informative, even for those of us who aren’t men. Thanks!
Thank you. I got a nice pair for my 18th birthday and its lasted me nicely for years. Now I know how to properly care for them to last me even longer.
This was a hard week for me and well I'm in a really good week now, sorry for doing this late but this video was really helpful thanks Antonio 🙌
Sweet now I know how to clean my timberland boots. But I kind of like the small stains and wear. It gives it character just like my worn scratched up everyday carry knife and flashlight.
My mom surprised when she said my worn out and beat up converse shoes looked comfortable years ago.
@@leonpse A lot of people really like that look for converse. It's a live in look that some people are even willing to pay for.
Great advice, we mostly avoid suede because it stains but with this advice I feel more comfortable about buying a pair of desert boots or chukkas.
Suede protector sprays are the best! I can wear my suedes without worrying about staining them or getting them wet
Don't be too careless though, it doesn't completely protect it
Absolutely!
Yeah true.. I get cussed by my family, cos I walk in and the first thing I do is start cleaning my boots 😂
what spray do you use?
Ty! I couldn't find out if you brush up or down but I guess as long as you go in same direction you're good.

Yes - suedes look best with casual wear.
Cheap
Finally got a pair of black suede boots. This video helps a lot with the maintenance, thank you Antonio!
Which brand products are you using for your suede boots ?
Thanks for the video sir. For now i just have cayote brown suede on my military boots. I love it, soft, scratch resistant and cooler on foot. That coyote brown blend with dirt colour well and "self camo".
I got some deep scratches in my loafers. How can I get those out?

I’ve got water and oil stain on my “waterproof” suede boot and it’s darkening. If I have to brush and powder the boots every time I take it out in the rain, it is not worth my time. It is just too much maintenance. Sorry.

What if I used polisher without knowing, can I and how do i recover it?
Suede, is NOT a "fabric". It is not woven or knit, it is a hide, aka leather.
What type of boots are those? They look nice.
Lovely video.. people avoid suede just coz they r scared of the damage that suede has to deal with. Well I have a few suede boots n shoes but I just love suede n am not afraid to buy suede.

Exactly! With proper maintenance, any person can wear suedes.
Best suede protection.
When u buy the shoe. Buy a suede protection spray and apply it before wearing them.
U dont need any fancy equipments .
Just a regular toothbrush and an eraser.
Always brush ur shoes very lightly after wearing them for keeping them clean.

well done best tutorial on youtube for basic suede up keep. Clear, concise and to the point
Thanks for all the practical and working tips. Tried few and it worked like wonder
I have badly scuffed my suede sneakers and I dont know How to fix them, do u have any further tips?
If your shoes or boots have lugged soles, spray them liberally with Scotch Guard or silicone spray. Mud and snow will release easily.
A large gummy art eraser works far better than a pencil’s.
do i need to use a metal suede brush after washing my suede shoes in sink with water?
What can i do if my shoes got damage from the rain there are just wrinkles in the by the toe can i do anything about it?
Great! I’m using this to care for suede roller skates
Do the same rules also apply to nubuck and durabuck.
Hello again! When would we use the Saphir Renovateur from your leather product group? I looked for instructions with that item. I probably just overlooked it. Thank you again. I am getting a pair of J. Crew flats made in Italy in turquoise and they need cleaning.

Can i use toothbrush instead of suede brush?😅
Would this work on Alcantara car seats?
I thought suedes are really hard to wash. Nice work antonio ! That helps a lot !
Glad you find it useful!
How about seude falconer gloves
Can i clean them with water?
I didn't know about this material and I washed it with shampoo.
