Literally the best way to clean suede!!
How to clean suede & nubuck:
In this video I take you through the process I take whenever cleaning suede shoes. The method I teach is what I like to call the "Dry Cleaning Method". It's very important, whenever working with suede, to not get the shoes wet because in this case the suede on the 11s is dyed. So getting the shoes wet would cause bleeding which is when the dye lifts up out of the suede and causes the color to fade. 1st step is to dry brush the whole entire shoe just to knock off any dirt that is sitting within the fibers of the suede. Then the 2nd step is to break up the suede that turned hard when getting wet. To do this it's best to use a metal cuticle pusher that has rounded edges at the tips. After that it's time to clean the shoe using just a white eraser. To finish up I put Angelus Mink Oil all over the suede which will darken the color, condition the suede to make it more soft and vibrant, and lastly it puts a protectant coating all over making it water resistant. Been searching for a tutorial just like this it’s great. I’ve just received some Nike sky hi blue suede trainers from eBay and they’re definitely not as the pics showed well worn and look extremely faded with a strange texture from whatever they’ve tried to clean it with and don’t even get me started on the yellowing of the soles and diamanté swoosh.
This will be my first venture into restoration and the vids from this channel have definitely given me the confidence and knowledge to have a go

for a first video, it's an amazing job. This is the best suede cleaning video I've seen (and I've seen a ton of 'em). Quick tip: watch the music volume, dont wanna have it too loud and you could back the music off when youre talking. Yiou did this , but not always.

Holy hell, thanks for this. The cuticle tool worked perfectly. Someone sold back a pair of NB 990v6 to a thrift store, I picked them up, insane deal. It needs some work & definate cleaning...no question, I can see he or she tried to wet clean these also. Lot of rough spots in the suede. Dry brushing helped a bit but damn the cuticle tool is perfect! SUPER soft now. Thank you!

Let me just thank you for this video. I had a tiny tiny spot on my alternate 🍇 5s that I just got a month ago and as I was cleaning another pair, I decided to try and get this spot off of the toe box area.. and I completely fudged up the whole area. .. @@stonegang97 you could use a nail cuticle tool like buddies. Or really any slim rounded off piece of metal. I used a nail tool too but not the cuticle tool. It was more or less just something I guess used to dig out underneath finger nails.. as long as it isn't a sharp or jagged piece of metal. Something rounded off. And thin.
@@stonegang97 I should add too tho that I used a brush sort of medium stiffness to brush the suede after I scraped it. I would scrape then brush. Scrape some more then brush. Etc.

Hey my man, i got the air jordan 1 lows in "tropical twist" the blue part is very soft, i think its suede? If there would ever be dark stains or spots on the tiffany blue part, can i remove it with only using the cuticle pusher and a white eraser, or wouldnt that be enough? Scared to ruin the suede by using water. Thanks!
Most of the time it'll take care of it for you bro. So yes the cuticle pusher and eraser should do just fine. Then all you got to to is use some Angelus Mink Oil to finish it off Never use water though because itll cause the dye in the suede to bleed.
Best tutorial I’ve seen so far for cleaning suede! Another guy legit threw his whole jacket into the washing machine which I’m pretty sure is a no-no, smh.
I’m a little intimidated by using this method on a whole dress or jacket though... any tips for cleaning bigger clothing articles AND for cleaning the interior lining ?? Tips would be much appreciated!
Suede is my favorite material but why’s it gotta be so daunting to clean 😭
This is not a good method, use a brass bristle brush to reset the suede its looks better and I less time consuming, try to work in one direction though

Beer suede cleaning I’ve seen so far. My only question is if you’re trying to get stains off of suede would you use water along with the solution cause I’m mad paranoid about it.
Not all time will you need a cleaner. Putting water and sneaker cleaner on suede can damage and lift up the colored dye in the suede which can cause it to fade. I've found using this method removes a lot of stains and ill only ever use water and a cleaner if the suede is grey, white ish, or like the original timb color. If your suede color is any different then those colors then it's most likely dyed suede.

Their site only has a dry suede kit and the eraser looks different from the one you used. Would you still recommend?
Yeah they changed it whenever they rebranded their company. But you don't have to use that kit. you can buy a white eraser from walamart and then just use a regular medium bristle brush

Brush it first and see if that'll help. You don't always have to use the cuticle pusher. It's only for really stiff clumped up fibers like the suede in the video
