Love these videos man. No crazy long intro. Just solid quality information with great visuals. And. A cat.
Cats make everything better! Cheers to you!
Haha, and...... CAT😂
AWESOME MAN
Your cat's fur looks like suede leather.
I have worked with leather for a while and this was the simplest and to the point explanation I have heard. Great job.
R B what can you do with suede?
Toaster's harness is amazing
Seriously, what a gem
Harnessed Toaster - yes! He is ready to pull Santa’s sleigh, people!
Toaster has a +1 charisma harness. Quite elegant.
Right in the biginning toaster with this tiny little leather west so cuuuuute 😍😍😍😍
I came for the cat, stayed for the cat.
Me too
I made suede from cars. It's Perrrfect!
I am loving these informative videos. There's so much confusion with advertising that it's helpful to have someone with relevant knowledge break it all down for you. Thank you!
I totally agree with you.
Would you consider looking at how different types of leather gloves are made and the advantages and disadvantages of different ways they are put together?
I have such annoyance all of the time with dexterity and stitching etc from this. That would be awesome.
Great video , I was still kind of confused when I read the difference between all the types of leather but you really broke it down , and explained everything super easy to follow. Thank you
Thanks for this video. All these years I thought Nubuck was an artificial leather.
Excellent! I really like these videos that explain leather, its always been such a mystery and retail shops are no help. Your video is very educational, keto up the good work. Thank you!
Great stuff! Really enjoying your videos a lot! I've learned quite a bit from you taking the time to do this. Much appreciated and looking forward to many more!
That explains why nubuck is so much nicer.
I made the wallet you made out of a shoe! The leather I have laying around is much softer so it was a bit difficult to saddle stitch. I only had embroidery floss so I waxed it first and it worked petty good. 👍🏻
OMG! I LOVE THE LEATHER HALTER YOU MADE FOR YOUR KITTY CAT! It looks so great, and he seems to be ok with it. I love all cats, but flame point Siamese are just so special. Absolutely gorgeous cat & halter!
Isn't he a Devon Rex?
Robert Hindle, thats what I thought as well.
He may be a Devon Rex, but flame point is just his markings. Such as "calico" or "mackeral tabby ". He appears to have "flame point Siamese" markings.
Great video. Best yet explanation/demonstration of these similar leathers.
One of the best channels I have come across, regardless the topic and context. Take care and give us food for thought. Cheers. George from Hellas.
🙌
Skateboarder love suede and nubuck shoes! More durable against rough griptape
I love these videos! The more the merrier!
Thanks for this video! Been looking forward to this one
Suggestion for future video: Show off your personal boot/shoe collection and what you like and dislike about them
Thank you very much for the break down and information. You used clear words that were not jargon to make me feel confused. I have some cowboy boots and have been trying to figure out what kind of leather they are to clean them correctly since all three pairs look/feel different. Thanks to your knowledge, I can safely purchase the correct products to shine them up.
Thanks for such a great explanation of the differences between suede and nubuck leather.I’ve never fully understood exactly what nubuck leather was until viewing this video.Always had this strange notion that it was something to do with the cowboy boots of the Wild West e,g, boots worn by Clint Eastwood in the Good/ Bad/ Ugly movie.!!
You blast out so much content that I alsways have something to watch it’s cool
Always a good stuff. Thanks!!!
Another excellent video, keep up the great work
a side effect of nubuck leather is that with the timbs I have they get shiny spots with wear. most of the tongue is smooth leather, and a whole ton of other small patches have this half-matte half-shine thing that's kinda cool. Im actually really excited to see how they shine up as time goes on, since I certainly haven't gotten all my use out of them yet
same here, i got my pair maybe half a year ago and i see bits of it that are shiny already
Cat in a harness!!!
Cat is open carrying a weapon, for protection from dogs, and to kill big rats.
These info vids are amazing. Thanks!
Great detail on this one!
Thanks for this clear and simple explanation! Could you please explain saffiano leather in some of your next videos? Brands like Prada make a huge fuss around their saffiano hand bags durability.
New favourite channel on RUclips.
I love these informative videos and I love Toaster!!
This was super educational and helpful.... but, honestly, I was super appreciative of having your cat be a part of it. He or she should be in every vid.
Very helpful, I never understood the difference before.
Top quality leather and Toaster content. Thanks!
Really nice job! Ive been really enjoying your Vids and congratulations on all your success!💯🐷
Golden! Well done, Rosey.
Thank you! This was perfectly what i needed.
Interesting! Now I know what materials used in a Air Jordan 1 shoes. Thank you for this video!
Yes! Kitty harness looks great!
Would love to see more on that!
Thank you. Very informative.
Great video with lots of info. Love the cat!
Great video! Thank you!! I'm learning!!!!!
Thumbs up for you having such a chilled cat.
Great explanation.
Thank you, this was very helpful.
Great video. Thank you!
Nice job explaining!
Thanx man.Got it finally.
I learned a lot. Thanks
i would love it if you did a video on the leather used in, like, a jordan 1 high or something. i've always been curious just how quality the leather materails used on most of them ACTUALLY are.
Thanks for the info and good video.
Want to see more leather info videos ! Toaster seems comfortable with the harness ( yea ). Looks cool too.
You deserve more subs. Your channel is pretty interesting.
For some reason i rly find this leather content interesting, even tho i am not well versed in the topic.
Thank you! So succinct.
Great Vid very informative.
Thank You , Short And Sharp
My ignorance... I always believed suede to be more high quality than nubuck. Thank you for correcting this!
Nice video, your channel really expanded my leather knowledge, I just to think my Air Jordan 1 were made out of good leather because they are made out of finished leather. Would be cool if you could review a pair of og air Jordan 1. It's an iconic shoe.
Yes this was amazing
my understanding is suede is light weight , nubuck is heavy weight. same thickness, suede is lighter
i think suede is by product when leather split, its supple, and iirc my suede shoes last 3-4 years, rubber sole give up before suede part
dunno how to condition suede, thats why not trying another suede after that lol
nice video
RM William or Blundstone :)
I'm enjoying your videos! Would you talk about leather fillers later on? How and if they work, how effective it is when restoring a pair of shoes with cracks or deep scuffs. Would they still be noticeable when re-colored with shoe cream/polish or dye? Thanks again for your videos!
so great..and the cat awesome! nice vid
Keep up the great content
Helped a lot
I do leather work (and many other hand craftings) myself, not a proficionall but it goes hand-in-hand with other hobbies i have.
And personally i definetly prefer having the leathers outer part as the outerpart and not sanded, I want it smooth as it is otherwise, with whatever wrinkles it may have.
Not sure how big of a difference it makes but as far as i know that side is better at resisting water aswell, assuming you give the leather a coating of fat from time to time.
If you dont the leather will soak up anything it can get near.
Damn that is a good vid right there. Thanks for explaining to us
The rough out holds a lot more product that you applied to it like waxes and waterproofing agents inherently causing a quick rub or brushing to create better self healing for a lack of better words.
I'm not gonna lie, I clicked for Toaster and stayed for interesting leather facts
Cool interesting info. Thanks :)
Thank you again
Could you do a video about how to condition suede as well as how to get rid of mould stain on suede? I have a pair of swede boots that have some aged mould stains. Some video say to use vinegar to wipe off mould. I tried that several times on my boots. Maybe the mould stains became less, but they are still there quite visible. And the swede become very dry after I use vinegar many times to wipe it. I really like your videos. They show things are useful and educational. Thank you.
very informative
a week into subscribing into this channel and I'm already trying to judge all the leather products i can find in my house
Yay! Now to actually find some rough out leather boots for women... The illustration helps a lot thanks for that!
I own some Toms suede sneakers (waste of $) but also nubuck timberlands (thrift find) and glad I held on to them.
-Also it would be cool if you made a leather good with the rough side out!
I was so misinformed about this, thanks for clarifying. Also, I am really not a cat person but that is an amazing cat.
Everyone's talking about the cat but is no one going to talk about this handsome man
Thanks
Can you do a video on how to care and clean different types of leather boots. I have water-resistant and all weather leather boots I'm needing to fix scuffs on. Also recommended products.
thanks bro
well done vid
Suede is great for skate shoes. We need the resistance of leather, but still cheap enough to destroy them with the grip of the board on each kickflip
Yeah and I've had one skate shoe pair for bicycle commuting mtbing and such for few years and it was the sole that wore out first. The suede leather is still in good shape
Do a video about tumbled leather please . That's my favorite leather
Thank you! :D
We love you Toaster
Could you do a nubuck cleaning and care video please?
The cat looks cool with his leather outfit ❤
Thx
Could you please do a 101 of how to take care of nubuck and suede?
You asked for us to let you know we want more so I am. I will like and subscribe as well. Im not a boot guy but I have been collecting sneakers of 20 years now. Materials have become more and more important to me as I have grown up... I have shoes with Suede or Hairy Suede, Pig suede. I even have a shoe with what is claimed to be Wolverine Suede. I would LOVE to know the difference between all of types of materials. I also have shoes (mostly Ronnie Fiegs) that have a nubuck that is almost oily to touch. It's not wet at all but is soooo smooth and soft it feels wet. It's crazy I am very interested in knowing more about ALL TYPES of materials. Thank you sir.
Hey Rose. Thanks for this video. I've got a question for you, I've got a pair of roughout Redwings in a very light color (Hawthorne Muleskinner is their official name for it) and I want to darken them without using a dye as I find the color to be too light for me. Any thoughts on what product I could use to do this? I've read some suggestions to use mink oil. Any thoughts on that or if anything else might work?
Cool video
Thanks for another very educational video. Can you polish a suede leather or nubuck leather?
Interesting channel, I just subscribed. Couldn't find a video on damaged leather, specifically I have a bag and a shoe with cuts in the leather, not as deep as your cut at the end of this video, but the dense grain on the outside is broken up a bit. What's the best way to deal with this? Are those slits going to worsen over time and make the leather tear or fall apart even more?
Another question, similar topic, I had a wet leaf stuck to the heel of my shoe for long enough so that now I have a little bit darker lines on the edges of where the leaf was sitting. I don't know how to explain, English is my second language, but it's like there was a wet spot which dried but you can still see the shape of it because the coloring of the leather changed around the rim of the spot.
Could you do a video explaining Helcor leather?
Love the cat man
Love your videos, thanks a lot!!! I want to buy a pair of timberland but i don't know if it is better the nobuk model or the grain leather (i don't know if it is full grain or top grain) is a little bit shiny.. is the other kind of leather they have. Wich one is better??? Thanks a lot
Nice video thanks 👍. One question though, can i re-dye my nubuck(vegetable dyes)shoes to change color ?
Tried to find that cat harness on rose anvil dot com but couldn't find it anywhere. Now I'm sad.
