I have this machine. I’ve had it almost 3 years and never used. I was intimidated but you made it seem so easy. I’m getting out of the garage today. Thanks!
You are better off having the sewing machine separate. I just ordered this embroidery machine I already have a sewing machine. It get complicated when you have it all on one. If one area breaks, you can't use the other one. I enjoyed this tutorial. I haven't used the embroidery machine yet. This was very helpful. Thank you.
This video was so incredibly helpful!! I am new to embroidery and I have never sewn anything in my life. I bought this exact machine and I could not have figured this out without your video!!!
I’m a super newbie and I am so thankful for your video! I’ve been so intimidated to start with my new gift and after watching your video I am ready! Thanks for explaining everything little detail and thinking aloud!
Just unboxed my machine - thanks for the review. Was disappointed you weren’t more familiar with this particular machine first. You’re easy to watch and listen to.
I had just bought it and there were no other review videos that would have helped my learning curve. This last week I posted two new videos, using the fonts and importing a design with the USB port. I hope those help! TY!
Thank You for the video! It helped me out a lot as a first time embroidery machine user. :) I also didn't know that it was an embroidery only machine when I ordered it, but my kids and I like it so much that we are going to keep it.
I bought the Brother Marvel LB5000 and it is the Embroidery/Sewing combo. Your video was very helpful to me because I haven’t opened the embroidery attachment. The sewing portion is AWESOME!
Thank you so much. Mine came today and I wasn’t sure how hard it would be..wow you made it look easy. I have a great sewing machine already so that wasn’t an issue. I thought I can be sewing on one and embroider on this cutie. I enjoy your videos.. thanks.
Vianney, I brought my first embroidery machine watching one of your videos about 5 years ago. I had that machine for less than a year and realized I wanted to expand and get a machine with larger embroidery hoop capability. So I purchased a Brother Dream Machine (XV8500D) and have since then upgraded it to the Dream Machine 2. I've made several gifts and sold some items. I am now learning to digitize and make my own designs with software I have recently purchased. I have to say it has all been because of watching the video you did 5 years ago that I have learned to enjoy embroidery. Since my machine is more than an embroidery machine I have used it to make quilts. Thanks for getting me started. 🤗
Doreen! That's so awesome!! TBH, I haven't used my machines as much as I would like, but I hope to change that. It's a blessing to be able to purchase them and I should use them more often. I'm so glad that you've really taken to this craft. Wow! I make personalized gifts here and there, I hope to make more fun things for Miranda going forward. Thank you so much for letting me know! (:
Hi. I wanted to ask does the dream machine embroider, sew, quilt and monogram? Is it better to get one tht does it all or seperate machines? I want to learn to do all of it to make my kids and grandkids things like quilts, embroidery, and more. Thanks
@@juliedawson7051 Yes, the Dream Machine does all of that. As far as if it's better to get one or separate machines that all depends on what you feel you will be doing the most and what your budget is like. I already had a sewing machine which I used to carry back and forth to classes. I brought the dream machine to use at home for quilting and embroidery projects. The dream machine is a very heavy machine to be carrying back and forth to class. It does have a very large throat space to work on a quilt and very good lighting with many additional features. It's my understanding Brother has discontinued the dream machine, but you may be able to find one locally or the newest model. Since I purchased my dream machine several years ago, I have since purchased 2 more Brother embroidery machines and another sewing machine as well as a long arm for quilting. I no longer use the dream machine for quilting since I have the long arm. I mostly use it and the other two embroidery machines for embroidery and one of them to take back and forth to class for embroidery and sewing. Hope I was able to answer your question.
I swear the beginning of your video was the best because it answered the question that I was asking everyone so you did not waste my time Thank you for the great information

You made some mistakes and just owned it, the same way I would. I just purchased this machine and am excited to get started. I had been looking at lots of different Brother machines. Looking at your final result of that cute Minnie Mouse, sold me on this one. No, it doesn't sew. But when I looked at all the options of combo machines, it literally raised the price about $100, not $10. I have a Brother sewing machine already, so it's all good. Thanks for the fun video! I'm gonna go check out the one on importing designs now.

Wow! I really appreciate your video on the PE550D! This week I purchased this machine and don’t recall any mention of the pressure foot not coming with the purchase of the machine...how bizarre! Must check into this. You also helped by informing us that we need a white thread for the bobbin...must get some of that also. Walmart is selling this PE550D Brother Embroidery Machine for $284.05 (tax not included in this amount). After watching your video I can’t wait to start! Hello. Thank you for your step-by-step instructions. I am about to jump into the embroidery space on a budget and wanted to see what’s out there for beginners like me. My question is can you do an image that’s larger than 4x4 by possibility moving the looms as yiu go or us a bigger machine needed? I’ve seen the nq1600, I think it is, but that’s out if reach for me at this point. The PE800 looks like another option that give you a bigger area, that is more within my reach. Your insight and response will be greatly appreciated!
Exactly. It's a lovely machine, I'm so torn. I like the small footprint (my Quintet is a big heavy machine). I know they have a similar model (I put the name in the description box) that is only $10 that does both things...but it isn't Disney! LOL!
Thank you so much for this! Just to clarify, did you not change your bobbin when you changed colors? Are you not supposed to? Or should you in some situations or not in others? Does it matter what color your bobbin is when embroidering? Again, thanks! Super excited to open mine!
LOL!! Have fun! So, no, you leave the bobbin...just change out the color on top. The back of embroidered items usually have black or white bobbin thread showing, they are not changed out. Just as easy as you saw here, put in your loaded bobbin and start embroidering! I have a few other videos on this machine, maybe they will help. TY!
Thank you so much! I ordered this and it will be arriving on Friday. I'm so excited to use it. I'm a first time embroidery machine user, so this was extremely helpful. The spray that your sprayed on the stabilizer, do I need to spray that or is that just a preference? I ordered the stabilizer as well, but was not aware of the spray.
Hey thanks for the tutorial , i have a question though , am using the same machine as the one in your video but am having a problem with the tension i have tried every thing but not getting any where , my stitches are loose , i have changed the bobbin case several times and adjusted the tensions like i don know how many times
I bought it because it only embroiders. For me, that’s perfect. I can sew on my other machine while this machine is embroidering. With other machines, you have to wait to sew while your machine is embroidering.
I hope you enjoy it. It's "Designs by JuJu." They have an awesome site, really great prices, and they will keep your library on your account forever. You also download the designs, but it's nice to know you can always access them on their site later.

I would think with the trademark it is legal since it was sold with the brother machine.

Hi I am practicing with my new embroidery machine. I used red on the top and white on the bobbin. I tried a name and it came out white. What did I do wrong?
I got this machine from my sister I’m trying to use it. I have everything down but for some reason I think I’m a problem with my bobbin. The thread on the bottom is not connecting to the top thread. So it just starts to build up thread. Can any one help?
Do you change spools during the project ? the manual says you should match spool color to the top color but I don't see how without taking the piece out and replacing it once the spool change is complete, I am concerned it won't be accurate.
I don't think the manual says to match the bobbin with the top color. Bobbin thread is usually black or white and is suuuuuper thin. It's not the same as other thread types. In embroidery, it's not the same rule as general sewing (same top and bobbin thread, color and type). Maybe you have the combo machine, but even then...in the embroidery function...you should be using specifically "embroidery bobbin thread." No switching it out.
Hello Vianney i love ur video i just have a question, i saw some reviews of this machine in amazon a and i saw 2 girls that shows the same desing of minnie but that desing looked super bad, i mean they had some spaces without embroidery; and they looked with less thread. Can u tell me if this machine have the option to put more thread or less thread? or what happens? becuase i saw a nice embroidery on ur video but in other imagens i saw very different. Thanks
My machine is pulling from the bobbin thread for color instead of the top thread. I tried tightening everything but have not been able to get it right since I purchased it. I really want to to use. Any advice.
Most people only use white, they also sell black. I don't know the weight of it, but when you look for embroidery spools...they will always have the "embroidery machine bobbin thread."
I'm new to all of this! But if you're in the middle of a design and you run oht of thread...wht are you supposed to do? As in will the design unravel? How do you start again ?🙆🏻🤷🏻
Can I use different bobbins or does it need to have a specific kind of bobbin for this model? Sorry, im new to this whole thing and can't seem to find an exact answer!
I have a baby lock flourish 2 and it keeps jamming (sews in the same spot and gets stuck in the bobbin) do you have an idea why this is happening and how I can fix it?
You don't have to, but if you want to...you can. I will say, read through your owner's manual to see if use of basting spray will void your warranty bc I have heard that some companies do stipulate that.
Hi Can you tell me if I would need digitising software on my Mac to add more designs to this machine and if so which software should I use that is not to expensive as still new to embroidery thank you
Personally I haven't bought a digitizing software, but yes...you do need a program to make your own designs. Embrilliance is one that I hear great things about.
@@VianneyCreates lol ..i recently bought a sewing machine and would love to purchase an embroidery machine soon ..i really learned a lot from your videos been watching them since morning. Thanks sharing your wonderful tips.
I’m watching this, debating on buying this. I’ve had probably 8 brother machines. In the description it says 7 feed dog points, and it has a bottom for a presser foot. Are you sure it doesn’t stitch straight lines w/o an actual foot pedal?
I wish! It doesn't, I guess it's referring to the way it moves and stitches. I don't know. Theoretically, you could create a file that makes it stitch straight lines or whatever and that would "sew."
Thanks for this video! Thought it was pretty cool to see how it works and how easy it was to set up. Do you know if it can embroider on leather? Cheers

Thank you for sharing this video. It’s amazing. I just had one and I confused how can I sew ? Is it only for embroidery?
Yes, this one only embroiders but there us a Brother Disney machine that does both.
Buy both machine you are in America
Great Video Just so you are aware You have to put the foot down before you try to auto thread the needle.
TY!
Is the Disney font on the machine????
You need the SE Edition for the Sewing and Embroidery machine
I know that now. LOL!!! TY!
This was a good video and lots of info
That's so kind, thank you!
do you think you can sell those towels now
I don't know...
Thank you so much for this video 😊
My pleasure 😊
Thank you I enjoyed your demonstration. You also have a good voice easy-to-follow.
That is my greatest compliment, thank you so very much!!!
Thanks
Yes you can! You can set stitches to be more dense/tighter or less. Also, do you think they may have skipped some of the colors? Leaving gaps?
I love your video😍
Awww, thank you!
Does it do exclusively disney designs or does it do whatever you want it to?
Good way to tell if it sews as well if the name of machine says se it’s sews
So true!
Why would you buy “cheap Chinese thread”? If it doesn’t work? Just curious why you would buy the cheap stuff?
My machine is pulling from the bobbin thread for color instead of the top thread. I tried tightening everything but have not been able to get it right since I purchased it. I really want to to use. Any advice.
不幸的是沒有 但不知怎的,它糾正了自己。 🥴
Do we only use white bobbin thread? Can tell again the weight of bobbin to buy in large spool
Most people only use white, they also sell black. I don't know the weight of it, but when you look for embroidery spools...they will always have the "embroidery machine bobbin thread."
Are you able to do hats or beanies with this machine..
Maybe beanies as you can stretch the extra fabric out of the way, but not hats.
I'm new to all of this! But if you're in the middle of a design and you run oht of thread...wht are you supposed to do? As in will the design unravel? How do you start again ?🙆🏻🤷🏻
This machine is really smart and lets you replace the thread or bobbin without an issue. It will tack down again and keep going. It should be fine!!
@@VianneyCreates thank you so much!
@@VianneyCreates can you do appliqué on this machine as well?
Can I use different bobbins or does it need to have a specific kind of bobbin for this model? Sorry, im new to this whole thing and can't seem to find an exact answer!
U can use also use black bobbin thread as well I’m need to this as well but I have learned that u can hope this was helpful
Can you make names on shirts or hats
I have a baby lock flourish 2 and it keeps jamming (sews in the same spot and gets stuck in the bobbin) do you have an idea why this is happening and how I can fix it?
Check to make sure you put your bobbin in correctly.
Do you have to use basting spray?
You don't have to, but if you want to...you can. I will say, read through your owner's manual to see if use of basting spray will void your warranty bc I have heard that some companies do stipulate that.
Thank you~
How big can I do the print out? What's the biggest print layout you can do on that particular machine?
I believe it's a 4" square max.
Hi Can you tell me if I would need digitising software on my Mac to add more designs to this machine and if so which software should I use that is not to expensive as still new to embroidery
thank you
Personally I haven't bought a digitizing software, but yes...you do need a program to make your own designs. Embrilliance is one that I hear great things about.
@@VianneyCreates thank you will have a look into that
Don't be sad... just order a sewing machine .love your video
I do have a couple of sewing machines, I was just hoping to pull out one machine and have it all there! LOL!! TYSM!
VianneyCreates yes... I think appliqué market has a free straight stitch.
Could you do hats with this machine?
Maybe beanies, but not a structured hat.
Thanks for this video! Thought it was pretty cool to see how it works and how easy it was to set up. Do you know if it can embroider on leather?
Cheers
I don't see why it wouldn't embroider on leather. TYSM!!
Love it !
I love this machine and its designs! So sweet!
My machine won’t stay threaded, any tips?
Nice! Anybody knows its weight for international shipping...?
I have no idea, I'm sorry
