I really like how level headed you are. Pointing out problems that shows like ahsoka or obi wan had but never outright insulting the shows as a whole or mocking the people who liked them like many do. Its refreshing to hear a calmer tone rather than a spiteful, hate-profiting commentary on how terrible entertainment is nowadays. You earned a new subscriber
I agree with you. Even when I disagree with the opinions of the video. His reasons are well thought out and not just I hate this show it's woke and it sucks. I really appreciate the presentation.
good point but it is getting terrible and what makes it worse is the people in charge trying to establish or defend the '' terribleness '' as the better and progressive standard of filmmaking.
Andor is the only SW show that I would watch again, and which stays with you after each episode ends. It’s immersive the way the OG trilogy is. Other shows tried to recapture the magic but for me only Andor succeeded.
Clone Wars 03 may be shorter but just think about many iconic characters and moments it's able to squeeze into that short runtime. Grievous, Durge, the Battle of Coruscant, Anakin vs Ventress, the Battle of Mon Cala, etc.
I'm sorry but Andor is far and away the best Star Wars. My brother who isn't a star wars fan, love it, and perhaps that is why it is not more popular than it should be, because it's so different. But as a single stand alone show, fantastic writing, acting, directing and cinematography
I really like Andor but i still liked The Clone Wars much better. Our main characters are fleshed out way better, it hits much more on the emotional way and also shows interesting concepts, like the Whills or the Mortis Gods who really make the force a mystery again
in the ahsoka series the first 4 episode were without emotion with intention. after that lesson with anakin she started to be emotional. the ahsoka show for me its everything I loved every character. the story was amazing and honestly I put on top 3
I've seen all of the live action shows except for Ashoka but I've never seen any of the animated shows, but seeing your ranking you've got me interested in watching them now.
Also, if you watch The Clone Wars (2008), make sure you view it in chronological order. It was an anthology series, so it sometimes jumped around the timeline: www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-clone-wars-chronological-episodeorder
@@shireknight01tbh I don't think watching it in chronological order is necessary, for me it became more of a hassle jumping around between seasons and episodes. They always have a recap in the first like 30 seconds of each episode so you never miss anything.
@@shireknight01Also I think watching it in release order is better because as the show progresses the animation gets better and the tone becomes more serious as the show kinda grew with its audience. If you watch it in chronological order youll probably miss out on that progression. And itll make some episodes feel weird if you watch them in chrono order because some youd the animation quality from episode to episode would be sperratic and feel off. Also the Clone Wars movie, while being just an Ok movie, is the best way to get introduced to the characters of the show like Ahsoka and Ventress and the TCW versions of prequel characters and its the way you were meant to be introduced to them so its best to start with that. Leave chronological order for if u ever wanna rewatch it and try that IMO.
Nice video I enjoyed hearing your perspective on the shows. Only think I disagree is that the 2003 clone wars should be higher (top 5 for me), because it showed the true scale of the clone wars due to not being limitied by 3d animation
Yeah, the more I thought about it I realized I probably should have ranked it at least above Obi-Wan Kenobi. I was a bit too focused on how short it was, so I ignored how much I loved it anyway. At least I summed up my thoughts on it pretty well.
What makes Rebels superior to Clone Wars? Like I'm not trying to be an elitist gatekeeper, I think Rebels is good but not nearly good enough to be superior to Clone Wars and I'm interested to hear your perspective on what makes Rebels superior. I might gain further appreciation of the show that way.

MAY THIS OLD MAN OFFER A BIT OF EDUCATION? My OG list. I come from a group of people who watched the OG SW in 1977 as a teen. 50ish years, SW is part of my family culture from parenting through Jedi virtues to every car and pet with SW names, holidays, birthdays, video games, books, endless hours in the SW toys isle with each child and grandchild holding a $20 crying because they can't figure out which figurine to buy. Once upon a time, SW had a purpose in its storytelling. GL meant to connect his storyline to our real lives. in 1977 We just ended the Vietnam War, and Hitler and the memory of World War II are still part of our daily lives, the movie The Godfather transcended the idea of family, and powerful and important gender and race movies were in full swing. Bruce Lee and Clint Eastwood (Mandalorian Bounty Hunters), good guys & bad guys - Light & Dark - (By the Way watch the Kris Kristofferson movie Billy the Kid and the movie Logan's run - massive influence on SW) etc... Meanwhile, Disco and technology in music and cinema were exploding - All of these things were part of the Geoge Lucus and massive culture storytelling piece of art. SO WHAT ARE OUR SCREENING MEASUREMENT TOOLS??? Based on what I know from experience and watching and reading every George Lucus interview and articitical - and my personal mix here are the elements of what makes a good SW piece of art: Heroes' journey, family over everything, an individual battle with the dark & light sides, fight against oppression, belief in the force, ordinary people can make a difference, teens & children matter, and the balance of the ultimate power (Jedi vs Sith) Based on that here is my Ultimate List - (Minus the Video games and Books - I'll ask my kids to help there) The main thing for me - I must see and feel the intent and purpose behind the piece. This is why Kenobi ranks higher than others - the purpose was crystal clear, compared to Tales of Jedi or Resistance which are more filler art pieces. 1. Andor/A New Hope 2. A New Hope/Andor 3. The Empire Strikes Back 4. The Clone Wars 5. Rouge One 6. Return of the Jedi 7. The Mandalorian Season 1 8. The Revenge of the Sith 9. The Force Awakens 10. The Mandalorian Seasons 2 & 3 11. Kenobi 12. Rebels 13. Visions 14. The Bad Batch 15. The Book of Boba Fett 16. The Attack of the Clones 17. Solo 18. Resistance 19. Tales of the Jedi 20. Young Jedi-Adventures 21 to 27 I'm leaving room for new poorly-made John, Dave, and Kathleen Kenedy shows. They've lost their way. 28. The Rise of Skywalker 29. The Last Jedi 30. Ahsoka
A very well thought out ranking! I definitely find myself to be rather middling on my opinions of Ahsoka and Obi Wan. I describe them both as good. Not great, not terrible, but good. If I had to rank the shows I've seen, it'd probably go something like this: 1: Clone Wars (3D) 2: The Bad Batch 3: Tales of the Jedi 4: Rebels 5: The Mandalorian 6: Visions 7: Obi Wan Kenobi 8: Ahsoka 9: Book of Boba Fett 1-3 I'd call "great" shows, 4-8 I'd call "good," and 9 is "okay."
I haven't seen a lot of the older shows, but this is one of the best (in my opinion) rankings I've seen!! I'd put Visions lower, but other than that, this was spot on for me, especially the top 5
I have an unpopular opinion. I think Obi-Wan is underrated and Mandalorian is overrated. Maybe its because I prefer Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy and Mara Jade is > Din.
My ranking (of those I've seen) would probably be 1. The Clone Wars 2. Andor 3. The Mandalorian 4. Bad Batch 5. Rebels 6. Visions 7. Ahsoka 8. Tales of the Jedi 9. Book of Boba Fett 10. Obi Wan Kenobi
Great video! I think there were moments where u repeat yourself a lot (and if that's your thing, that's okay, just something I noticed). Would love to see more of your opinions on things. Obi-Wan being ranked higher than Ahsoka is odd to me but it has made me think. Overall, good ranking, just about right
Thanks! And you're right, I noticed it too. I need to make a list of words and phrases I tend to repeat so I can avoid redundancy in future videos 😅 I'm currently re-watching the SW movies to prepare for another ranking video, so keep an eye out for that. Yeah, I may have ranked Obi-Wan Kenobi below Ahsoka if I'd had a chance to re-watch it. Watching ANH today made me realize just how flawed Obi-Wan Kenobi's premise is: Obi-Wan and Vader should NOT have met between trilogies, even if it had been executed well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
My Top ranking : 1) Rebels 2) The Bad Batch 3) Clone Wars 4) Andor 5) The Mandalorian 6) Ahsoka 7) Tales of the Jedi 8) Visions 9) Obiwan 10) Boba Fett 11) Résistances
1. TCW (2008) 2. The Mandalorian 3. Andor 4. Rebels 5. Tales of the Jedi 6. Ahsoka 7. The Bad Batch (just watched s1) 8. Book of Boba Fett 9. Kenobi 10. Resistance
Thanks! And yeah, the more I think about it and the more criticisms I listen to the more I realize how many flaws Ahsoka had. It'll be interesting to see where I place it next time I do an updated ranking.
Ahsoka was bad, but I think had loads of purpose - it is the leading point to a variety of new content - most of which should make for a compelling story. BF was a dead end outside of forcing Grogu back with Mando. I would argue that is one of the things that ruined Mando season 3.
@@Tikemorris78 THANK YOU FOR THOUGHTS. BF was terrible overall, however the purpose was for us to get a glimpse of a bounty hunter who tries to lay down roots. Nothing really to do with the overarching heroes journey of Star Wars. However my expectations were that it would be about a bounty hunter nothing more than that. Ahsoka was like an extended preview to another show that we don't know what it's gonna be about.? Just a random series of meaningless poorly written poorly acted scenes. with fan service around every corner. I was happy for Hayden to be offered screen time as retribution but that's all that it was, unfortunately Hayden's poor acting skills could not be covered up. BY FAR SOME OF THE WORST DIRECTING IN ALL OF STAR WARS FROM WRITING A STORY PLOT - everything! IN GENERAL - FAN FILMS ARE BETTER. ty for letting me vent. -
I think there’s a huge nostalgia element for people that grew up with the animated shows. Going in to it as an adult I found clone wars a bit of a slog. There were some good arcs and the final two episodes were great, but there was a lot of filler.
@@TheMediaMonologue Fair. I tried getting into Clone Wars, but it made no sense (even considering it was episodic). What I did watch felt either like random filler or simply too weird and bolted-on to make sense either (I just watched the Mortis arc the other day and it felt like watching another story entirely). And I HAAAAAAAAAATE General Grievous, like literally everything about that character and wish he were never introduced. Rebels was cute though! TL;DR, on pure quality of writing and production it's Andor and then everything else, and it's not even close. YMMV, MTFBWY.
Rebels is a kid's cartoon, sure, and far lower than Andor in quality. The Clone Wars is not. Its target demographic is not children, and its subjective matter is not appropriate for them.
My ranking (of the shows I‘ve watched): 10. The Book Of Boba Fett Gap 9. Obi-Wan Kenobi 8. Tales Of The Jedi 7. The Mandalorian (Season 1 was great, Season 2 was ok and Season 3 was downright awful) 6. Ahsoka 5. The Bad Batch 4. Rebels 3. Visions 2. The Clone Wars (2008-2020) 1. Andor
Not including Legends shows. 1. The Clone Wars - 10/10 2. Andor - 10/10 3. Tales of the Jedi - 9/10 4. The Bad Batch (season 3 has brought it up a lot) - 8/10 5. The Mandalorian - 8/10 6. Rebels - 7/10 7. The Book of Boba Fett - 6.5/10 8. Resistance - 5/10 9. Obi-Wan Kenobi - 3/10 10. Ahsoka - 2.5/10
1. Andor 2. The Clone Wars (2008) 3. Clone Wars (2003) 4. Tales of the Jedi 5. The Mandalorian 6. Rebels 7. The Bad Batch 8. Ahsoka 9. Obi-Wan Kenobi 10. Tales of the Empire 11. The Book of Boba Fett I personally believe that The Mandalorian and Rebels are massively overrated. They're not bad but they're not really good either. I haven't seen the Acolyte yet, but from what I've heard, it will most likely fall somewhere between 9-12.
I'm gonna overdo this and include the LEGO shows and RUclips shorts. 27. Star Wars: Galaxy of Creatures (A series of RUclips shorts introducing several creatures of Star Wars to kids. Didn’t really do anything for me.) 26. Star Wars: Galactic Pals (Another series of RUclips shorts introducing several creatures of Star Wars to kids. I think the main reason why I put this spinoff of Galaxy of Creatures higher than it is because it’s shorter.) 25. Star Wars: Roll Out (2-3-part RUclips shorts for kids. They play out mostly like a Flash game where a narrator narrates the gameplay. Pretty bad.) 24. Lego Star Wars: Celebrate the Season (Dialogue-less themed Lego shorts as Lego does so many. Some of them are funny, I admit, but none of them was really good.) 23. Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures (Basic ass kids show. Takes absolutely nothing from Star Wars aside from the concept of the Jedi and its related concepts. Just because you are making a kid's show doesn’t mean you do the absolute minimum. The animation is pretty bad, the stories are always very on-the-nose, and it’s very cringe. I know that I am not the target audience, but that doesn’t mean that I like it more just because I am not the target audience.) 22. Star Wars: Ewoks (Pretty much an Adventures of the Gummi Bears ripoff. Few of the stories were enjoyable, the animation is weaker in my opinion than in Droids, and while it isn’t as cringe as Young Jedi Adventures, I still didn’t like it.) 21. Star Wars: Blips (Interesting and entertaining for what it is. That doesn’t mean it’s good, but it’s fun in some ways and for some cheap marketing for The Last Jedi, it works.) 20. Star Wars: Droids (While it’s again pretty independent, I think it’s closer to Star Wars than Ewoks and I enjoyed aspects of it. But I think R2-D2 and C-3PO while working as side characters, I think they never worked as main characters. The Clone Wars and A New Hope have shown this in my opinion. (Yes I don’t like A New Hope because of R2 and C-3PO.)) 19. Star Wars: Forces of Destiny (Canon shorts within the Star Wars franchise, and they do shine some interesting lights on some brief events. While I still think they’re pretty bad, they at least try to be interesting.) 18. LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales (As with Droids, making C-3PO the main character didn’t really work for me. They pretty much shit on the first six Star Wars movies and their representation actively frustrates me.) 17. LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles/The New Yoda Chronicles (They have an original story and I appreciate that. What makes this one bad is the dumb Lego humor. I am not a fan of it at all. And the two different endings thing is pretty dumb as when the bad win, it feels like a punch in the face. The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi puns at the end for each version are kind of dumb as well.) 16. LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars (Directly follows Solo: A Star Wars Story and The Freemaker Adventures in a very messy way where it tries to somehow make many different time periods work with each other to tell essentially two different stories but somehow intertwined. It’s kind of dumb and I hate that.) 15. LEGO Star Wars: The Resistance Rises (Lego shorts that directly precede and set up The Force Awakens. Due to their short runtime, it doesn’t waste its time on dumb Lego humor and I appreciate that.) 14. LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures (It was written to serve as a bridge between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in a way to make it fit with canon. While it isn’t canon, I think it did a pretty good job at respecting established canon, unlike previous Lego shows.) 13. Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures (Season 1 was mostly a series of shorts based around the original trilogy and I pretty much like them as they re-imagine established events or shine a new light on some characters in brief glimpses. Season 2 is mostly set around the sequels and it doesn’t work nearly as well.) 12. Star Wars: Resistance (The most forgettable Star Wars show. And I think the two people who have seen this will agree. I recently rewatched this, and while it wasn’t nearly as bad as I remember, it still wasn’t good.) 11. Star Wars: Clone Wars (Brief glimpses into the Clone Wars. It was interesting but lacked any of the character development or even the time of the later series. I think the dialogue is very lazy and much more like a show for smaller children. Not preschool, but not as old of a demographic The Clone Wars was for.) 10. Star Wars: Visions (The main problem I have with Visions is that there’s not enough for each story. Some of the realms, both in the animation style and the world itself, that were visited are pretty good but are sometimes too far off from the Star Wars I know. I prefer Star Wars with the characters I know or at least the factions I know. There are sometimes Jedi, Sith, or Stormtroopers, but it’s not really enough.) 9. Star Wars: Rebels (The animation is my main problem here. It’s just uninteresting, bland, and clean. The Clone Wars has a more rough animation style which I much preferred over Rebels. The story itself is not that great either for me. I am more of a fan of the Clone Wars or Pre-Clone Wars era because that’s the era I grew up on.) 8. The Book of Boba Fett (Kind of out of place in some ways, but I still enjoy it even for what it is. We could’ve gotten something way better but we didn’t and I think it’s kinda said. I am not against the idea of bringing Mando back, but for three episodes and having major events of the Mandalorian show happening here.) 7. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Kind of forgettable but from what I remember I liked this glimpse into a pre-rebellion era Empire. Not much of anything, and it could’ve been a hell of a lot shorter into a movie, but for what it is, it’s fine.) 6. Tales of the Jedi (Really good glimpses into Dooku and Ahsoka, but I think for Season 2 they should do a couple of less popular Jedi and Sith. Not a fan of the first episode and the last is kind of sad that it contradicts a novel, but I can’t do anything about it. Very enjoyable episode nonetheless.) 5. Andor (I prefer the action and mystic side of Star Wars. While political stuff can be great, it also must be interesting for me it wasn’t. The prison arc was great though only to be boring again after they broke out. Felt like two seasons in one, and honestly I would have preferred if they had released it in two seasons.) 4. Star Wars: The Bad Batch (I really like the feeling of the “Golden Era is over”. It works for the show. While I still prefer Clone Wars, I think this one does a great job at portraying post-empire clones. But I think they should stop doing filler episodes.) 3. The Mandalorian (I loved the first two seasons, but the third season wasn’t worth the 3-year wait at all. Season 2 is brilliant though and I still love it.) 2. Ahsoka (Unsure whether this is better or worse than Mandalorian. The story is kind of thin with episodes having very thin plots, but I pretty much liked the exploration of pretty much anything. It’s the Star Wars I like and I love that it takes the animated shows into account.) 1. Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Probably my favorite show of all time. At least one of my favorite shows. I love the story arcs, I love the structure of the show. Also, is it just me or does The Clone Wars like a hell of a lot longer era than anything else in Star Wars despite only occurring over three years? They really should animate the unproduced episodes, maybe as standalone Disney+ movies?)
@@TheMediaMonologue watched all of that for an IMDb list I made with all Star Wars material in an as chronological order as possible. I have watched some more stuff but it isn't on Serializd so I just left it out.
The main issue with Ahsoka is that you are taking iconic characters brought to life by incredible voice actors and so they just don't feel right. Feels fan made. My taste is definitely more inclined towards animated Star Wars in general. And I specifically love the stories that expound on the prequel universe and characters (i.e. Clone Wars and Tales) Don't quite understand the Andor obsession, but I think that's mainly because im just not quite interested in that era and those characters.
I know many would want to kill me for this, but I'll do it anyways: 1. The Clone Wars 2. The Mandalorian 3. Kenobi 4. Ahsoka 5. Visions 6. Tales of the Jedi 7. Resistance 8. Young Jedi-Adventures 9. The Bad Batch (I would've put it way higher tough, if it was only for the second season) 10. The Book of Boba Fett 11. Andor 12. Rebels
I'm always happy to see different rankings! We all like Star Wars for different reasons (though I'd brace yourself for replies from Andor and Rebels fans 😆)
Andor at number 11? You may be wondering why I stand before you, unarmed - but you'll soon get used to my minimally-invasive "enforcement techniques" BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!! Keep to your lane, agree with me that Andor is the best, and this needn't be more than a painful memory for you.
If CLONE WARS is the best for you - then this list makes sense. You see SW is very personal and generational. Were you 6-12 years old when Clone Wars came out? No offense meant. My son was that age and he lives and breathes CW and SW video games.
Live-Action: 1. Andor S1 2. The Mandalorian S2 3. The Mandalorian S1 4. Ahsoka 5. The Book of Boba Fett 6. The Mandalorian S3 7. Obi-Wan Kenobi Animation: 1. The Clone Wars 2. Rebels 3. Tales of the Jedi 4. The Bad Batch

You said for me to put my rankings in so lets go! I have not seen droids, ewoks, visions, the young jedi, or resistance so I won't include them 1. Clone wars (2003) 2. Clone wars (2008) 3. The mandolorian 4. Andor 5. the bad batch 6. Tales of the jedi 7. Ahsoka 8. rebels 9. Book of Boba fett 10. Kenobi
I copied and pasted from my other comment on you movies video; I didn't get into Star Wars until pandemic lockdown. One of my best friends has been into Star Wars longer. We have very drastic list. IDK if mine is controversial. I didn't see all the shows though but for what i watched 1) Andor 2) Bad Batch 3) Mandalorian 4) Rebels 5) Tales Of The Jedi 6) Visions 7) Clone Wars 8) Ahsoka 9) Book Of Boba Fett 10) Obi Wan Kenobi Obi Wan Kenobi and Book Of Boba Fett teams should have switch projects. Ahsoka and everything else was good. Ahsoka though just didn't feel like it's own. Clone Wars lasted a bit too long for me. I just like the different ways people animated and created unique Star Wars stories in Visions. Mandalorian I enjoyed a lot. Book Of Boba Fett brought it down for me with Season 2 to Season 3. I liked how Bad Batch shown the differences from Clone Force 99 and regular clones with the storylines they had so far. Andor was just fantastic. I know a lot of people don't like slow burn stories. But it was great story overall and extremely excited for Season 2.
Based on my enjoyment and not how critically good they are: 1. The Bad Batch 2. The Clone Wars 3. Andor 4. Rebels 5. The Mandalorian 6. Tales of the Jedi 7. Ahsoka 8. Obi Wan Kenobi 9. Resistance 10. The Book of Boba Fett
My ranking 11.restiance 3/10 terrible you see there a few 7/8 out of 10 episodes a few 5/10 episodes but every other episode is a 1/10 10.the book of boba fett 4/10 bad 9.kenobi 5/10 okay 8.madalorion 6/10 pretty good 7.bad batch 8/10 amazing 6.Ashoka 9/10 masterpiece (haven’t seen the last 1/2 episode/s) 5.tales of the Jedi 9/10 masterpiece 4.rebels 9/10 masterpiece 3.clone wars 2008 9/10 masterpiece 2.clone wars 2003 10/10 almost perfect 1.andor 10/10 almost perfect
My favorite star wars TV show are star wars the clone wars star wars rebels bad batch Andor tales of the Jedi star wars visions and star wars resistance
My only major disappointment is with Ahsoka move that up to 5. Move the rest back a spot and I'd be good with it. Andor is really confusing for me because it's a fantastic show but it doesn't feel like Star Wars and left me wanting more. Assuming Ahsoka has a season 2 I'm more looking forward to that then I am Andor season 2.
Here's my ranking (I'm so glad you asked! - lol); 1. Andor 2. A New Hope 3. Rogue One 4. Empire Strikes Back 5. Return of the Jedi Andor is the best thing to come out.
@@TheMediaMonologue Nice! 😄 if I was a kid, I would probably not have liked it as much, and that’s very interesting! I grew up in the 90s, watching the OT back to back. And when I was a kid RotJ was my fav, while I thought ESB was abit too dark and slow paced. Now however, ESB is my nr one while RotJ is the weakest in the trilogy (don’t dislike it, just don’t like it as much) So it’s gonna be interesting to see what the future will hold. Are we gonna get more like Andor, or will the “fun but formulaic” be the main focus?
My top : Clone Wars 2003 The clone wars rebels andor the mandalorian s1 tales of the jedi bad batch visions the mandalorian s2 resistance the mandalorian s3 ashoka ewoks the book of boba the young jedi droids Kenobi
Yeah, at the very least I should have ranked it based on all the good things I said about it, rather than ranking it low simply b/c it's short. I'll have to fix that next time I do an updated ranking.
Id say the clone wars is the best yes, but it completely shattered continuity at the time, and the legends timeline just can never recover from it, it works if the new canon but it was the start of a very visable pattern for filoni... he lacks care for anything not his.
Although I did have some problems with Ahsoka and Obi-Wan Kenobi, I would rate them higher on the list, though as you said you didn’t expect to rate them that low.
Maybe I'll change my mind if I ever re-watch Kenobi. I just rewatched ANH and it really makes me wish that Obi-Wan and Anakin hadn't met between trilogies.
@TheMediaMonologue I should rewatch them too, my perception often changes upon a second viewing. Personally Clone Wars is my favorite but Andor lacks it's flaws so it's probably the very best. Still I enjoyed the ranking and explanations
@@TheMediaMonologue Ahsoka could have killed SW altogether. It served no one, didn't appeal to my grandkids, Killed the BEST character in all of SW, and had no purpose at all. At least my grandkids loved OBK! The purpose was clear - Ahsoka is lucky not to fall below the Ewaks
I knew that Andor was going to be the highest rated live action show on the list. Unfortunately I did not enjoy it at all (along with Rogue One). I feel like both are overrated and were stories that were not needed. Mando season one is my favorite, and surprisingly Obi Wan is my second favorite of the live action.
If you gonna do lists etc, gotta be way more honest, critical and don't pull your punches so much. Credibility is hugely important, simping loses that faster than saying "Disney is the best thing to happen to Star wars since George Lucas". Also after watching this list, I am actually very disappointed majority of Star Wars shows are garbage 😞
I am being honest. I am critical at many points in this video. Just because I'm not as negative as other videos doesn't mean I'm a simp. I'll do my videos how I want.
@@TheMediaMonologue you said yourself you didn't expect to rank Ahsoka so low on the list. Why?. The best part of the show was Ray's character the Fallen Jedi Lord Baylan. Everyone else was boring to terrible. It's not a crime to actually say that. You can call out Dave Filoni and the other cretin's in Disney for doing a bad job.
@@ljgav Sorry I was so reactionary before, you do make a good point about my need to be more clear and definitive. I may not totally share your mindset on Filoni and certain Disney project, but I'll keep what you said in mind for my next ranking.
@@kairandbellinger1973 You're right, I don't agree with him completely but I should't have gotten mad at someone for being critical of my approach (after all that's literally what I'm doing in this video).
When people ask me why Disney Star Wars is failure, I direct them to video like this. This video commentator praises poor storytelling Disney shows like Rebels, which is the reason Ahsoka was the great disaster that it was. It exposed the Great Dave Foni Bologni as a bad writer of Rebels and Ahsoka.
You are so wrong about Rebels. I am not a cartoon fan, but Rebels was good stuff. Andor is still number one in my book, but in preparation to watch Ahsoka, I thought I would watch a few of the cartoon shows, just some episodes. I ended up watching every episode of Rebels. Sadly, the Ahsoka series turned out to be straight-up garbage, slightly better than Obi-wan.
Rebels had great villains. Told deep stories about characters dealing with their traumas and regrets. Built on the lore and showed what the rebellion looked like when youre not a mary sue who goes from whiny farmboy to hero of the entire galaxy in a few days of world time. S1 was a little rough, but Rebels as a whole was solid. Id maybe put it 3 or 4 on my list. I have seen it four or five times thru and was how I introduced my kids to star wars, once they were old enough to not have nightmares from the grand inquisitor who was scary af.
My ranking would be the following: 1. Andor 2. Rebels 3. Clone Wars 4. Mandalorian 5. The Bad Batch 6. Resistance 7. Ahsoka ( I wish it was animated) 8. Young Jedi Adventures 9.Visions 10. Obi-Wan Kenobi 11. The Book of Boba Fett 12. Tales of the Jedi 13. Forces of Destiny
Good ranking! Yeah, that's kinda how I feel about Ahsoka too. I love that we got Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll in live-action, but otherwise, it probably would have been a lot better as an animated show.
I'm totally on your ranking - especially as Andor is where it belongs to ... the only show that managed to get me into tears ... after episode 12, I was sitting breathless in front of my screen, in deep tears, over the feeling that I have just seen the very best of all times, to the point that its TOO GOOD for Disney to let the next season reach this quality ...
Don't forget to share your Star Wars TV ranking!!!
Wow, thank you, this kind of feedback always means a lot (as does the subscription :b)
I agree with you. Even when I disagree with the opinions of the video. His reasons are well thought out and not just I hate this show it's woke and it sucks. I really appreciate the presentation.
Perfectly balanced as all things should be.
You need to be an absolute saint to not be salty about the really bad stuff here...
good point but it is getting terrible and what makes it worse is the people in charge trying to establish or defend the '' terribleness '' as the better and progressive standard of filmmaking.
Finally someone who acknowledges rebels not only is good, but some of the best star wars media
Clone wars will always be my favorite piece of star wars media.
in the ahsoka series the first 4 episode were without emotion with intention. after that lesson with anakin she started to be emotional. the ahsoka show for me its everything I loved every character. the story was amazing and honestly I put on top 3
1. TCW
2. Clone Wars 2003
3. Andor
4. Tales of the Jedi
5. Mandolorian
I've seen all of the live action shows except for Ashoka but I've never seen any of the animated shows, but seeing your ranking you've got me interested in watching them now.
Nice!
Also, if you watch The Clone Wars (2008), make sure you view it in chronological order. It was an anthology series, so it sometimes jumped around the timeline: www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-clone-wars-chronological-episodeorder
@@TheMediaMonologue Ah thank you, I will do that 🙂
@@shireknight01tbh I don't think watching it in chronological order is necessary, for me it became more of a hassle jumping around between seasons and episodes.
Clone wars 2003 is easily top 5 for me.
In hindsight, I definitely should have ranked it higher. 😅
I love how u preview the shows thats beautiful
My Top 5 ranking is probably:
1. Andor
2. Rebels
3. The Mandalorian
4. TCW (2008)
5. The Book of Boba Fett
I concur!!!😊
What makes Rebels superior to Clone Wars? Like I'm not trying to be an elitist gatekeeper, I think Rebels is good but not nearly good enough to be superior to Clone Wars and I'm interested to hear your perspective on what makes Rebels superior. I might gain further appreciation of the show that way.
Appreciate the extra effort to add the theme music to each show.
The real credit should go to all the awesome RUclips channels in the description who made incredible remixes that wouldn't get claimed for copyright 😅
Very good video, well done! I'm excited to see where you take your channel!
My list:
1. Andor
2. Clone Wars (2008)
3. Mandalorian
4. Rebels
5. Clone Wars (micro-series)
6. Visions
7. Bad Batch
8. Tales of the Jedi
9. Book of Boba Fett
10. Obi Wan Kenobi
The others I haven't seen/watched enough to give a good ranking.
Also anyone who disagrees with this absolutely objectively correct ranking I've done belongs in an imperial detention center like in Andor
I must say, Ranking these Shows based on the amount of screen time I have was quite refreshing. I have yet to see anyone do that before.
My only disagreement really is where you placed Kenobi, don't think it deserved to be up where it was, but that's just me.
Top 5 is probably:
1. Andor(nothing comes remotely close)
2. TCW
3. Clone Wars 2003
4. Mando(haven't seen season 3)
5. Rebels

1. The Clone Wars
2. The Mandalorian
3. Andor

5. 2D Clone Wars
6. The Bad Batch
7. Rebels
8. Visions
9. Ahsoka
10. Young Jedi Adventures
11. Droids
12. Resistance
13. Ewoks
14. Kenobi
15. The Book of Boba Fett
Kenobi didn’t have problems. It is the problem. Almost everything in that show contradicts past canon/lore
Yeah, as soon as I re-watched ANH the other day I found myself wishing that Obi-Wan and Vader never met between trilogies.
Contradicting the lore/ cannon doesnt matter if the show’s actually good, it was neither
Based on what I know from experience and watching and reading every George Lucus interview and articitical - and my personal mix here are the elements of what makes a good SW piece of art:
Heroes' journey, family over everything, an individual battle with the dark & light sides, fight against oppression, belief in the force, ordinary people can make a difference, teens & children matter, and the balance of the ultimate power (Jedi vs Sith)
Based on that here is my Ultimate List - (Minus the Video games and Books - I'll ask my kids to help there)
The main thing for me - I must see and feel the intent and purpose behind the piece. This is why Kenobi ranks higher than others - the purpose was crystal clear, compared to Tales of Jedi or Resistance which are more filler art pieces.
1. Andor/A New Hope
2. A New Hope/Andor
3. The Empire Strikes Back
4. The Clone Wars
5. Rouge One
6. Return of the Jedi
7. The Mandalorian Season 1

16. The Attack of the Clones
17. Solo
18. Resistance
19. Tales of the Jedi
20. Young Jedi-Adventures
21 to 27 I'm leaving room for new poorly-made John, Dave, and Kathleen Kenedy shows. They've lost their way.
28. The Rise of Skywalker
29. The Last Jedi
30. Ahsoka
Very solid ranking, I liked hearing about your experience and what defines a good story for you.
hmm
Where's the phantom menace?
Every Star Wars TV Show Ranked:
Well, Andor is first. Then all the crappy ones.
Good review. I liked it, but Andor was my favorite. Disney killed Boba Fett, you were right about that.
They did Boba so well in Mando season 2, BOBF should have been a slam dunk.
my list would be the same although i would swap rebels with andor, but they are honestly interchangable, both are so amazing
One is a standalone show with some of the best writing in Star Wars, and the other is an entertaining adventure that captures the magic of the OT.
putting cw2003 anything below top 3 is insane. That show blows all the rest away.
Damm someone actually ranking the old shows.
Figured a more comprehensive list would set my video apart (though most friends I've shown this to have no idea what I'm talking about for those 😅)
A very well thought out ranking! I definitely find myself to be rather middling on my opinions of Ahsoka and Obi Wan. I describe them both as good. Not great, not terrible, but good. If I had to rank the shows I've seen, it'd probably go something like this:
1: Clone Wars (3D)
2: The Bad Batch
3: Tales of the Jedi
4: Rebels
5: The Mandalorian
6: Visions
7: Obi Wan Kenobi
8: Ahsoka
9: Book of Boba Fett
1-3 I'd call "great" shows, 4-8 I'd call "good," and 9 is "okay."
Thanks, and solid ranking!
I haven't seen a lot of the older shows, but this is one of the best (in my opinion) rankings I've seen!! I'd put Visions lower, but other than that, this was spot on for me, especially the top 5
Thank you!
I'm working on a ranking of the movies, so keep an eye out for that.
I have an unpopular opinion. I think Obi-Wan is underrated and Mandalorian is overrated. Maybe its because I prefer Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy and Mara Jade is > Din.
My ranking (of those I've seen) would probably be
1. The Clone Wars
2. Andor
3. The Mandalorian
4. Bad Batch
5. Rebels
6. Visions
7. Ahsoka
8. Tales of the Jedi
9. Book of Boba Fett
10. Obi Wan Kenobi
An excellent ranking, thanks for sharing!
I need to make a list of words and phrases I tend to repeat so I can avoid redundancy in future videos 😅
I'm currently re-watching the SW movies to prepare for another ranking video, so keep an eye out for that.
My Top ranking :
1) Rebels
2) The Bad Batch
3) Clone Wars
4) Andor
5) The Mandalorian
6) Ahsoka
7) Tales of the Jedi
8) Visions
9) Obiwan
10) Boba Fett
11) Résistances
Solid ranking, nice to see someone who loves Rebels even more than I do! 😄
@@TheMediaMonologue Haha I love this show, it's so well written and there's a real red thread from start to finish.
4 tied up I saw okay
I enjoyed this video a lot even though I have quite differing opinions on these shows. 👍
1. TCW (2008)
2. The Mandalorian
3. Andor
4. Rebels
5. Tales of the Jedi
6. Ahsoka
7. The Bad Batch (just watched s1)
8. Book of Boba Fett
9. Kenobi
10. Resistance
Great list. I would rank Ahsoka below BF. At least BF had a purpose of some kind.
I only disagree with Ahsoka being lower than Kenobi and most of the series there! I think Ahsoka was more than perfect, so it deserves better ranking!
Overall not too bad! But you put a kids' cartoon ahead of Andor - see me after class.
The primary demographic has nothing to do with quality.
My ranking (of the shows I‘ve watched):
10. The Book Of Boba Fett
Gap
9. Obi-Wan Kenobi
8. Tales Of The Jedi
7. The Mandalorian (Season 1 was great, Season 2 was ok and Season 3 was downright awful)
6. Ahsoka
5. The Bad Batch
4. Rebels
3. Visions
2. The Clone Wars (2008-2020)
1. Andor
Not including Legends shows.
1. The Clone Wars - 10/10
2. Andor - 10/10
3. Tales of the Jedi - 9/10
4. The Bad Batch (season 3 has brought it up a lot) - 8/10
5. The Mandalorian - 8/10
6. Rebels - 7/10
7. The Book of Boba Fett - 6.5/10
8. Resistance - 5/10
9. Obi-Wan Kenobi - 3/10
10. Ahsoka - 2.5/10
1. Andor
2. The Clone Wars (2008)
3. Clone Wars (2003)
4. Tales of the Jedi
5. The Mandalorian
6. Rebels
7. The Bad Batch
8. Ahsoka
9. Obi-Wan Kenobi
10. Tales of the Empire
11. The Book of Boba Fett
I personally believe that The Mandalorian and Rebels are massively overrated. They're not bad but they're not really good either. I haven't seen the Acolyte yet, but from what I've heard, it will most likely fall somewhere between 9-12.
2019 is The Best Year of Star Wars
I'm gonna overdo this and include the LEGO shows and RUclips shorts.
27. Star Wars: Galaxy of Creatures (A series of RUclips shorts introducing several creatures of Star Wars to kids. Didn’t really do anything for me.)
26. Star Wars: Galactic Pals (Another series of RUclips shorts introducing several creatures of Star Wars to kids. I think the main reason why I put this spinoff of Galaxy of Creatures higher than it is because it’s shorter.)
25. Star Wars: Roll Out (2-3-part RUclips shorts for kids. They play out mostly like a Flash game where a narrator narrates the gameplay. Pretty bad.)
24. Lego Star Wars: Celebrate the Season (Dialogue-less themed Lego shorts as Lego does so many. Some of them are funny, I admit, but none of them was really good.)
23. I know that I am not the target audience, but that doesn’t mean that I like it more just because I am not the target audience.)
22. Star Wars: Ewoks (Pretty much an Adventures of the Gummi Bears ripoff. Few of the stories were enjoyable, the animation is weaker in my opinion than in Droids, and while it isn’t as cringe as Young Jedi Adventures, I still didn’t like it.)
21. Star Wars: Blips (Interesting and entertaining for what it is. That doesn’t mean it’s good, but it’s fun in some ways and for some cheap marketing for The Last Jedi, it works.)
20. (Yes I don’t like A New Hope because of R2 and C-3PO.))
19. Star Wars: Forces of Destiny (Canon shorts within the Star Wars franchise, and they do shine some interesting lights on some brief events. While I still think they’re pretty bad, they at least try to be interesting.)
18. LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales (As with Droids, making C-3PO the main character didn’t really work for me. They pretty much shit on the first six Star Wars movies and their representation actively frustrates me.)
17. The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi puns at the end for each version are kind of dumb as well.)
16. LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars (Directly follows Solo: A Star Wars Story and The Freemaker Adventures in a very messy way where it tries to somehow make many different time periods work with each other to tell essentially two different stories but somehow intertwined. It’s kind of dumb and I hate that.)
15. LEGO Star Wars: The Resistance Rises (Lego shorts that directly precede and set up The Force Awakens. Due to their short runtime, it doesn’t waste its time on dumb Lego humor and I appreciate that.)
14. LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures (It was written to serve as a bridge between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in a way to make it fit with canon. While it isn’t canon, I think it did a pretty good job at respecting established canon, unlike previous Lego shows.)
13. Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures (Season 1 was mostly a series of shorts based around the original trilogy and I pretty much like them as they re-imagine established events or shine a new light on some characters in brief glimpses. Season 2 is mostly set around the sequels and it doesn’t work nearly as well.)
12. Star Wars: Resistance (The most forgettable Star Wars show. And I think the two people who have seen this will agree. I recently rewatched this, and while it wasn’t nearly as bad as I remember, it still wasn’t good.)
11. Star Wars: Clone Wars (Brief glimpses into the Clone Wars. It was interesting but lacked any of the character development or even the time of the later series. I think the dialogue is very lazy and much more like a show for smaller children. Not preschool, but not as old of a demographic The Clone Wars was for.)
10. There are sometimes Jedi, Sith, or Stormtroopers, but it’s not really enough.)
9. Star Wars: Rebels (The animation is my main problem here. It’s just uninteresting, bland, and clean. The Clone Wars has a more rough animation style which I much preferred over Rebels. The story itself is not that great either for me. I am more of a fan of the Clone Wars or Pre-Clone Wars era because that’s the era I grew up on.)
8. The Book of Boba Fett (Kind of out of place in some ways, but I still enjoy it even for what it is. We could’ve gotten something way better but we didn’t and I think it’s kinda said. I am not against the idea of bringing Mando back, but for three episodes and having major events of the Mandalorian show happening here.)
7. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Kind of forgettable but from what I remember I liked this glimpse into a pre-rebellion era Empire. Not much of anything, and it could’ve been a hell of a lot shorter into a movie, but for what it is, it’s fine.)
6. Tales of the Jedi (Really good glimpses into Dooku and Ahsoka, but I think for Season 2 they should do a couple of less popular Jedi and Sith. Not a fan of the first episode and the last is kind of sad that it contradicts a novel, but I can’t do anything about it. Very enjoyable episode nonetheless.)
5. Andor (I prefer the action and mystic side of Star Wars. While political stuff can be great, it also must be interesting for me it wasn’t. The prison arc was great though only to be boring again after they broke out. Felt like two seasons in one, and honestly I would have preferred if they had released it in two seasons.)
4. Star Wars: The Bad Batch (I really like the feeling of the “Golden Era is over”. It works for the show. While I still prefer Clone Wars, I think this one does a great job at portraying post-empire clones. But I think they should stop doing filler episodes.)
3. The Mandalorian (I loved the first two seasons, but the third season wasn’t worth the 3-year wait at all. Season 2 is brilliant though and I still love it.)
2. Ahsoka (Unsure whether this is better or worse than Mandalorian. The story is kind of thin with episodes having very thin plots, but I pretty much liked the exploration of pretty much anything. It’s the Star Wars I like and I love that it takes the animated shows into account.)
I admire your ability to tackle everything, and including your opinion next to each one!
@@TheMediaMonologue watched all of that for an IMDb list I made with all Star Wars material in an as chronological order as possible. I have watched some more stuff but it isn't on Serializd so I just left it out.
@@TheMediaMonologue I expanded my thoughts if you're interested.
Clone Wars and Tales)
Don't quite understand the Andor obsession, but I think that's mainly because im just not quite interested in that era and those characters.

3. Kenobi
4. Ahsoka
5. Visions

8. Young Jedi-Adventures
9. The Bad Batch (I would've put it way higher tough, if it was only for the second season)
10. The Book of Boba Fett
11. Andor
12. Rebels

Andor at number 11?
You may be wondering why I stand before you, unarmed - but you'll soon get used to my minimally-invasive "enforcement techniques"
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!

6) Visions
7) Clone Wars
8) Ahsoka
9) Book Of Boba Fett

Obi Wan Kenobi and Book Of Boba Fett teams should have switch projects.

5.tales of the Jedi 9/10 masterpiece
4.rebels 9/10 masterpiece
3.clone wars 2008 9/10 masterpiece
2.clone wars 2003 10/10 almost perfect
1.andor 10/10 almost perfect
My favorite star wars TV show are star wars the clone wars star wars rebels bad batch Andor tales of the Jedi star wars visions and star wars resistance
Ahsoka would definitely be higher on my list. I'm still watching but it's 100% better than Kenobi and Mando season 3.
Andor might be the best thing to come out from SW since ESB
Currently re-watching the SW movies in release order and I may have to agree with that 😅
Here's my ranking (I'm so glad you asked! - lol);
1. Andor
2. A New Hope
3. Rogue One
4. Empire Strikes Back
5. Return of the Jedi
Andor is the best thing to come out.
Now however, ESB is my nr one while RotJ is the weakest in the trilogy (don’t dislike it, just don’t like it as much)
So it’s gonna be interesting to see what the future will hold. Are we gonna get more like Andor, or will the “fun but formulaic” be the main focus?
@@jazzx251 That is a nice list! I do have a little different too 5, but I respect your opinion! 😃 And agreed!! Andor is really damn good!
My top :
Clone Wars 2003
The clone wars
rebels
andor
the mandalorian s1
tales of the jedi
bad batch
visions
the mandalorian s2
resistance
the mandalorian s3
ashoka
ewoks
the book of boba
the young jedi
droids
Kenobi
Definitely easier to rank The Mandalorian by season!
Great list
But I don't think it's fair to rank Gendy's clone wars as it barely qualifies as a series
Especially when you count Visions
I had some big issues with the Ahsoka series but man it was better than Kenobi
Maybe I'll change my mind if I ever re-watch Kenobi. I just rewatched ANH and it really makes me wish that Obi-Wan and Anakin hadn't met between trilogies.
@TheMediaMonologue I should rewatch them too, my perception often changes upon a second viewing. Personally Clone Wars is my favorite but Andor lacks it's flaws so it's probably the very best. Still I enjoyed the ranking and explanations
@@TheImmediatePastPrez Thank you! And yeah, I think The Clone Wars will always be my favorite no matter what but Andor is objectively amazing.
@@TheMediaMonologue Ahsoka could have killed SW altogether. It served no one, didn't appeal to my grandkids, Killed the BEST character in all of SW, and had no purpose at all. At least my grandkids loved OBK! The purpose was clear - Ahsoka is lucky not to fall below the Ewaks
i personally hate the book of boba fett. it's just awful in every way possible
the minute i realized you had visions top ten, i came to the conclusion ur list is invalid😭that show is terrible
@@TheMediaMonologue Just feedback You're getting started - take the feedback.
Yes, please direct people to my video, I'd appreciate it! 😉
My ranking would be the following:
1. Andor
2. Rebels
3. Clone Wars
4. Mandalorian
5. The Bad Batch
6. Resistance
7. Ahsoka ( I wish it was animated)
8. Young Jedi Adventures
9.Visions
10. Obi-Wan Kenobi
11. The Book of Boba Fett
12. Tales of the Jedi
