Those who say ROTS is above the OT are blinded by nostalgia... or am I blinded by my OWN nostalgia??... well the important thing is we all agree the sequels are shit.
It certainly is nostalgia, and I flat out admit that TESB is by far the best Star Wars film of all time in the video. But damn, if that nostalgia isn’t glorious haha
Very hard as I love all three but I'd have to go with 3: ROTJ. Love the movie but it has pacing issues and im not a fan of the Ewoks defeating the emperors "best troops" 2: Star Wars 1977. Beautiful film. The flaws make it even more charming and it does such a great job in giving me 2 hours of escapism 1: ESB. It's perfect. Every scene is iconic and heart wrenching.
You’re channel is a breath of fresh air. FINALLY a male SW fan who doesn’t spend their time bashing the sequels, calling Rey a “Mary Sue” and demonizing Kathleen Kennedy. You admit yeah, parts of the franchise has flaws but even at it’s worst, everything has at least some redeeming qualities, which is again so refreshing, I’m not really into legend lore, but I’m going to go watch some of your other videos. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comments. As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I’ve been through the ups and the downs of the franchise’s history, and I find absolutely no joy in hating on or disparaging it. I love Star Wars, and I try to find the positives in every piece of Star Wars content we get. I’m happy to have some one who feels the same way apart of this channel’s community. Despite my channel’s name, I do tend to put out equal amounts of Canon content as Legends, so I’m happy you’re going to give some of my other content a chance. I have a second channel called ‘Star Wars Lads’ (youtube.com/@starwarslads?si=0pmLCwdpW1unjAFK) if you’re interested. We do book and show reviews, live streams, tier lists, and more over there all about Star Wars.
Thanks for the vids, very well put together. As you said I have some differences of opinion but I did respect your logic for your choices and enjoyed the listing......... I grew up with the ewoks so they hold a very special place in my heart.....
Thanks! I completely respect that. The Ewoks movies are certainly something that you have to have seen when you were growing up to have an affinity for. Unfortunately, I didn’t grow up with them haha
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed Andor too. I’m sorry Rebels didn’t work for you, but I appreciate you respecting my thoughts. I tried to articulate them from the heart
Do you really have Porkins action figure? That's nuts🤣 I love tierlists and seeing some original takes on our beloved saga. Ofc i wouldn't pick the same way as you, but your choices are justified very well so good job :) Oh and i cannot deny your top 2, just can't, TESB and ROTS are truly the best.
As someone who is not a fan of the sequels and ranks them low on his own list, I very much enjoyed your take on the strengths and weaknesses of all the projects. Keep up the great work!
Would be really interested in seeing you rank the legends books. It's something that I really haven't really seen anyone attempt in video format. It can be broken down by era, altogether, etc. Lots of interesting video concepts there!
Thanks for your input! I definitely want to do that one day. I’d love to rank them all, it’d be an incredibly long video. I might do top 10 or top 25 videos first before undertaking an entire ranking of everything haha
1. Revenge Of The Sith 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. Return Of The Jedi 4. Rogue One 5. Attack Of The Clones 6. A New Hope 7. The Force Awakens 8. The Phantom Menace 9. The Rise Of Skywalker 10. The Last Jedi 11. Solo 12. TCW ( 2008 )
Great video! It's funny that you mentioned that Droids and Ewoks weren't staples of your childhood, because both shows were staples of my very early childhood. I missed the initial airings of both shows, as I wasn't born until just after they ended, but they aired in reruns until probably 1991 or 1992 at the latest, and they were my introduction to Star Wars as I watched them long before I ever saw any of the movies, I had an Ewoks VHS tape until my VCR ate it for some reason, and I have the Droids DVD release that I got when I was a teenager in the early 2000s. So when I finally saw the Star Wars Trilogy in early 1996 after my dad got the 1995 "One Last Time..." THX VHS box set, I recognized Threepio, Artoo, and the Ewoks. I do agree with you that I liked Ewoks a little bit better than Droids, but Droids had some very iconic Canadian voice actors as guest characters as both shows were produced here in Canada, due to Nelvana being a Canadian animation studio.
Thanks! Very cool stuff! I’m glad Ewoks and Droids were very much so apart of your childhood. I wish I watched them more as a kid because I think I would’ve loved them! I didn’t know they were made in Canada. Cool fact!
@@swlegendslore Yeah, they were produced by the same studio that did The Care Bears, and the animation segment of The Star Wars Holiday Special, among many MANY other shows, both animated and live action. And the thing about Droids and Ewoks is that, at least here in Canada, the reruns had stopped by the early '90s and neither show came back in reruns after that. I don't know how it was in the U.S., but after that they both got a few VHS releases and one DVD release each, and that was it. So Disney+ is the first time people are able to watch the complete series for each show since the reruns aired.
Kenobi made Obi dumb IMO. Letting Vader live. For the 2nd time. Also that show has to much Reva. The last Jedi ruined a lot for me (luke for example). I almost Agree with the rest of your list
Great ranking, and I love the style of your video (also your background is awesome). Cool list, thanks for sharing! Always appreciate some different takes. Of course, I'm shocked how low you rank TESB, but I love that you have TCW as your top choice.
I’d put the ewoks films higher up based on nostalgia, but I haven’t watched them in a long time so I highly doubt they hold up to what I remember of them
That’s your opinion. Mine is mine. The Force Awakens was an incredible cultural touchstone when it released. I still remember that time and film very fondly.
@@swlegendslore Enjoyment-wise and in isolation it's an opinion. But it's objetively true that TFA ruined everything by not having an overarching plan when it was written and squandering all the achievements and breaking down the story of the previous movies. This happened and is absolutely backed by George, Marcia Lucas, and Howard Kazanjian. Particularly by a channel called 'Legends Lore' you'd expect a little context. Literally, any movie released would have been a 'cultural touchstone' because it's SW. Thankfully in time the movie has been forgotten and pushed to the side pretty much in the opposite way that has happened to the PT.
@@tris421Tbh I personally wouldn't call TFA the "one that ruined everything". That title goes to TLJ which is the one that actively fucked up the flow of the trilogy. I think that if we had JJ Abrams direct the whole trilogy it would've just been mid all the way through. I wouldn't of been satisfied by that but at least it wouldn't have been ridiculously offensive as it turned out. Instead we got a disfunctional as all hell anti-trilogy that eventually resulted in a franchise being heavily tainted because TLJ threw a wrench into things and turned what was going to just be mid into (in the simplest of terms) a disaster. Or at least that's just how I view it.

Yeah your video definitely leans more into personal subjective favourites rather than best quality, but I cannot agree with any adult who puts Andor outside their top 5; it is actually by far the most rewatchable Star Wars since the OT. It has the best overall writing, acting, directing, production, and music of any show and most of the movies, and rewards multiple viewings by allowing one to further appreciate everything the creatives were doing with this show.
Andor is great. It makes it very high on my list. It would absolutely make it into my top 5 of the best Star Wars movies/shows (probably 2 behind TESB), but I can not justify putting a series that isn’t finished in my Top 5. Andor is also better on a binge than a weekly release, which is how I watched it for the first time. There are pacing issues in the first half of the season for a weekly release format series. I’ve watched it multiple times since on a binge and those problems are much less apparent, but certain episodes still stick out. I can’t and won’t argue that it’s an incredibly well written and directed series with a production value so high through the use of location shooting that it visually stands apart from every Star Wars series (again I put it very high on this list, I agree with your points). The series just doesn’t have the same weight with me as other entries that I’ve grown up with. My interest in Star Wars is shaped by the Force mythology being the most fascinating part of the series’s lore. Andor steers away from the fantasy in favor of the grounded parts of Star Wars. I feel it’s weird to have to defend myself for loving Andor, but also just loving 6 other pieces of Star Wars more. I’m glad you fell in love with the series enough to put it in your top 5.
