Because people were just hyped Star Wars was back. After all that excitement settled, people realized that it just wasn’t a good movie. It’s a carbon copy rip off of A New Hope with less interesting characters and a bigger budget. Think of the potential it had… we could’ve gotten an actual new and innovative story separate from the other two trilogies… but instead we get a story we’ve already seen. C tier.

I think we couldn't disagree more when it comes to ranking these. There are some consistent opinions, some agreements here and there, but they are few and far between. However, I respect your honesty. Not once did I feel, despite my disagreements, that you were being uncharitable toward any movie or show. I'm glad you didn't just follow what everyone else is doing and just throw acolyte into F tier, the show definitely had some great parts. Bringing a lot of legends into canon, and lots of annoying cliffhangers that I'm sure aren't as bad if you binge the show.
I REALLY wanted to even put it in C tier, but there was just too many issues I had with it to do that. But a lot of potential for sure. Loved episode 5 more than anything.
I think the highest I have ever seen The Force Awakens get placed in a Star Wars movie ranking is third, behind A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, so this placement is first for me.

For the sequels id rather switch the last jedi and force awakens and make TLJ s tier honestly, fans of sw are so divided that there willing to hurt, exploit, and made fun on everyone's opinion to it being actually better than the TFA or TROS, but overall a very respectful ranking and one i can agree with as a regular movie goer.
1. Journey to the dark head 2. The 9th jedi 3. Empire strikes back 4. A new hope 5. The duel 6. Lop & Ocho I'm still not a big star wars fan but I do love anime.
Regarding Boba Fett... Other than the fact I personally like most of the season, think most of episode 6 is unnecessary, and think the finale was rushed, underdeveloped, and should have been two parts, I think Boba's characterization makes sense for the show. Specifically in relation to The Clone Wars, but also his role in The Mandalorian season 2. He is an honorable person who is burdened with the legacy of his father (and in a way, the other clones) by the very nature of having the same face. And that doesn't change here. In fact, it's more prevalent here than in those other shows. But the BIGGEST flaw the show made was not adapting the unfinished Clone Wars arc with him and Cad Bane where their history is established and we see Boba acquire his father's armor. An arc which is treated as canon both in the show and by the Lucasfilm story group, and that has never been told in any medium. And having that arc in this show as additional flashbacks would have GREATLY improved the show in my opinion.
I love how diverse your ranking is even with some common opinions. Me personally, i don't truely have a ranking. Even for what most of what I have to criticize I do talk about the things I do like amongst it.
@ You’re just mad that The Last Jedi has a well structured plot with actually character depth and development unlike the illogical movie that you call a Star Wars movie. I.e Palpatine wanting to turn Anakin but he allows Dooku to continually try to kill Padme. The assassination attempts just so happen to lead Obi-Wan to the separatists so he can start a war. The Jedi happened to be on Genoisis just to get killed off, etc etc.
I love your take on Force Awakens… absolute masterpiece of a movie! Here’s my ranking: Movies (I adore all of these… except for #11): 1. Return of the Jedi 2. Rogue One 3. Force Awakens 4. Alr dude, just because he made 1 dumb take doesnt mean u get the pass to make a horrendous take.... How tf is rise of skywalker higher than empire??? U watch too much twilight...
You should have put in the 2003 Clone Wars series. One of the best Star Wars shows. I would say it, The Clone Wars 2008, The Mandalorian, and Rebels are my favorites for the shows. I haven't seen Andor and a number of other shows though.
Bad Batch is so god damn boring. In the first 2 seasons, half the episodes are just them going on random missions to earn credits. Also the amount of times Omega gets captured, then rescued is laughable. The actual plot is so stretched out that half the episodes are complete filler garbage. Also I just don’t care about any of the characters.
S-tier (The absolute best) Clone Wars season 5 (Everything about it is perfect IMO except for the two first episodes of the "Into the Void" arc) Clone Wars season 4 (The Umbara, Slave, Bounty Hunter, and Nightsisters part 2 arcs are all some of the best Star Wars content out there) Clone Wars season 7 (The Bad Batch arc was a great introduction to the group and it was really enjoyable. The Sisters arc was pretty meh but I don't hate it as much as others do. The Siege of Mandalore arc tho is 100% the best piece of Star Wars content out there. It is the culmination of some of the show's best arcs) Revenge of the Sith Rebels Season 3 Rogue One (It's very underrated. I loved it when it was released, and I love it even more after Andor. I also like the connections to Rebels) The Mandalorian Season 2 Empire Strikes Back A-tier (Great) Rebels Season 2 Andor Season 1 Rebels Season 4 Return of the Jedi Clone Wars season 3 (The Nightsisters, Mortis, and Citadel arcs were all S-tier level content for me. The finale arc with Ahsoka was really good as well IMO) Bad Batch Season 3 Bad Batch Season 2 The Mandalorian Season 1 A New Hope B-tier (Good) Ahsoka Season 1 Bad Batch Season 1 Clone Wars season 2 (When I rewatched the show recently, I realized how good this season was. The Holocron heist, the second battle of Geonosis, the first Mandalorian arc, the Zillo Beast arc, that one episode with Hondo, and finally the Boba's revenge arc.) Clone Wars season 6 (The Fives arc is one of the best arcs in the entire show, the Clovis arc was fine, the Jar Jar stuff was hell no, and the Yoda arc was pretty good) Rebels Season 1 Tales of the Jedi Solo (It felt useless but I did enjoy it) C-tier (Decent) Tales of the Empire Attack of the Clones The Force Awakens (I used to like it a lot but the rest of the sequel trilogy ruined it a bit for me) Clone Wars Season 1 (Rookies, Malevolence arc, Ryloth arc, pirate arc (carried by Hondo), and Newt Gunray arc were all enjoyable IMO) D-tier (Bad) Mandalorian Season 3 The Clone Wars movie The Book of Boba Fett (Mando and Cad Bane carried) The Phantom Menace The Last Jedi (It would be F tier but I don't dislike it as much as the stuff in F-tier) F-tier (Horrible) Kenobi The Acolyte Season 1 (Even tho there were red flags before it released, I wanted it to be good, but it just wasn't) The Rise of Skywalker Man ranking all of this was hard 😂
There are some that you ranked that I agree and there are some that I totally do not agree, however this is your ranking and I respect your ranking. You made some good points on them. One thing I will say for sure. S ranking for me would be not only Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith, but I would also put A New Hope. However, Empire would be at the very top of all ranking. As for your F ranking for The Resistance and Visions. I agree with you on those. When it comes to Resistance it's so like for 8 year olds, that I probably wouldn't even rank them. It's exactly the same as the Star Wars Droids and Star Wars Ewoks animation from the 80s. As a matter of fact Resistance and those two animations should just be a category of their own, which I would also put the two Ewok TV movies. Totally for kids at the age of 8ish. The only thing that I like about The Ewok TV movies of the 80s is that they were composed by Elmer Bernstein (who was my. teacher's teacher) and was an outstanding compose like Master Williams.
in my opinion, if we stick to live action stuff, Andor was probably the best Star Wars thing since the Original trilogy. Perhaps this is an unpopular opinion, but here it is.
Agree wholeheartedly on the last Jedi. Standalone it semi ok but it took everything off the rails and created issues for rise of skywalker to deal with
I don't mind Rey beating a wounded Kylo Ren in lightsaber combat. I don't like how Rey is randomly so strong in the force where she can look into Kylo's mind while he's using the force on her. Or how she is mind controlling a trooper on the second try even though she has no idea what she's doing. I also don't like how lightsabers lose their impact. Finn's back get blown completely (pause), and he is still alive. Kylo's face should be cut in half but somehow he just gets a Tyrion Lanister scar across the face *by a lightsaber* . Han Solo being excited about using Chewbacca's bowrifle even though they have been together for decades is just weird. Sure it's funny but it makes no sense that Han has never seen the Bowrifle's power and only now "likes it". Finn doesn't want to kill civillians and he wants to escape the First Order but the moment he escapes he starts celebrating at the death of his fellow comrades. Last but not least, Captain Phasma, who's been intimidating the entire movie is being done dirty by being humiliated just for cheap laughs with the whole trash compactor scene Edit: Don't mistake my criticism for negativity though. I appreciate the dedication you put in for this tier list and I loved every minute of watching this video!
As someone whose favorite prequel movie is Phantom Menace, I can tell you that it's mainly because I oddly find the politics to be interesting, and I also just think it's a better scripted, acted, and directed movie than the other two. The other films have a lot more going on in terms of story, and a lot of it is very compelling. I just also don't find myself caring about anything that happens in those films because of a combination of a lot of different factors. The actors don't have much chemistry, the lines are... Annoyingly bad, and the way George directed the actors didn't help either of those things. Also, yeah, Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, and Jar Jar Binks are amazing characters. Yes, I unironically like Jar Jar. I think he's a great comedic relief character. And, I mean, the Duel of Fates is also pretty good. But I feel like, much with the original trilogy, the Phantom Menace executes what little story it has much better than episodes 2 and 3 execute the abundant stories they have. But I'm interested to see your complete ranking. And possibly actually watch your Star Wars reactions. I don't think I've watched many of them because I prefer longer reactions with big discussions at the end, but since your videos are so short, it would make it easier to binge them. Edit: I can respect not liking The Last Jedi as much as, say, me. But as someone who does like The Force Awakens as well, which J.J. Abrams has admitted wasn't made with any concrete direction moving forward, I think Rian does a great job at taking the characters where they are in the previous film, and moving them forward. A lot of people say the movie throws out a lot of what the previous film did, but... It didn't. It just developed the characters in ways a lot of people either weren't expecting, or that were different from how they would have done it. And then they say it's bad. Rey's arc makes sense given literally all of what we see of her in the previous film. Finn is forced to learn, through his journey with Rose, that he can fight for something bigger than himself and his own personal desires, which is something he did in the entirety of the previous movie. Poe was a badass hotshot, but like in real life, everyone like that takes unnecessary risks. They're arrogant. And in the situation the Resistance was in, him receiving actual punishment for his actions that put them in an even worse position makes sense. And him expecting to be privy to Holdo's secret plan AFTER disregarding his orders and losing all of the bombers and being subsequently demoted just feeds into his arrogance that he is forced to put in check. And you already talked about Ben's arc in the film, so I know you don't think his arc completely goes against the first film. I think the main criticisms people have that I can see as valid criticisms, are the killing of Snoke, the Canto Bite subplot, and the portrayal of Luke. The Canto Bite subplot, while it makes sense for the film, doesn't help the pacing much. And those other things are... Well, controversial decisions, to say the least. When it comes to Luke, I think people are overreacting, or going into the film thinking Legends is still canon, and so when they don't get Legends Luke, they're disappointed. Because they have invested a lot of time into a specific version of the character that this film at least seems to take a dump on. But in context with the other films, Luke feels in character. Would it have been great to see Luke get so low? Yeah. But 1. J.J. Abrams set up Luke being self isolated on an island on a planet nobody knows about, and Rian had to make due with it. And 2. Throughout the original trilogy Luke's emotions, and especially his anger, get the better of him many times. The reason he beats Vader in Return of the Jedi is because Vader and Palpatine successfully taunt him into attacking. The fight starts with Palatine's taunts, actually, and then he beats Vader because Vader threatened to turn Leia to the dark side and Luke lost control. And, ironically, in trying to turn Luke to the dark side, Palpatine actually STOPS Luke from killing Vader. As for Snoke... I think it's the only thing that made sense. We had such an interesting character in Kylo Ren/Ben Solo, but he was going to undermined by a character who shows up for like a minute at the end of The Force Awakens? That's lame. Sure, it would be cool to learn more about Snoke. But personally I feel we can both do that AND maximize Kylo Ren's potential as a villain at the same time. And Rian did just that by having Kylo kill Snoke. Really, the way you feel about The Last Jedi is how I feel about The Rise of Skywalker. Nothing it does was set up, and with the exception of maybe Rey, every character's arc is completely flipped, Kylo Ren's status as a villain is completely eradicated in favor of a returning villain from the original trilogy whose return was set up in FORTNITE of all things, and every interesting idea the film had was unexplored. The other former Stormtroopers. Interesting. But they don't do anything with it. And the Indiana Jones esc. plot just feels... Dumb. None of it makes sense to begin with, but it also just doesn't hold a candle to anything Indiana Jones actually did. That, and we get the reveal that Rey is the child of a clone of Palpatine. Which... Is something I have to deal with, and is something I'm interested to see how the Rey movie deals with, but I just feel is completely undermines the very admirable and charming message of The Last Jedi.
OHHHHH SHIT! YOU MIGHT AS WELL SHOT ME IN THE LEG! It doesnt matter if you didnt like A New Hope as much as other stuff. The original always deserves S tier. In all kinds of media.
I’m not sure how he can put A New Hope in B tier while also saying The Force Awakens is the best Star Wars movie…. It’s literally a carbon copy of A New Hope, but with less interesting and iconic characters. The only thing that movie has going for itself is the visuals and cinematography… but that should already be a given. The Force Awakens had so much potential to tell a new and captivating story… but instead we get a story we’ve already seen. That’s beyond lazy. C tier at best.
Boba Fett series is soo weird, Boba story is bad, two Mando episodes within it are S tier (e5 & e6). Ahsoka episode 4 is my fav too. And my personal S tier would have been almost exactly the same, it's hard to argue (and yes i also really like TFA), i kinda might add Tales of the Jedi, Return of the Jedi and Rogue One in there too. But wouldn't throw anything out of it.
My problem with force awakens is Kylo Ren being a weird emo boy it just ruined it for me I could never take him serious I was never once scared of him, that’s also because Rey was OP asf with no training I didn’t like that at all she didn’t have any training. And I absolutely hated that they killed off solo in the first season it just seemed like a stupid death doesn’t even make sense why Kylo even killed him in the first place except to just be a “bad guy” compare maul to Kylo Ren. Darth Maul walks in the scene and it’s just dark it’s good.
Huh?? What are you talking about? I just randomly put Star Wars posters on the thumbnail. Why would I spoil what my placements are in the thumbnail??? How is that clickbait??
No way you put The Force Awakens in S and A New Hope in B. THE FORCE AWAKENS IS A COPY OF A NEW HOPE!!!! WTF BRO!!! WWWWWWW TTTTTT FFFFFFF?! THE BEST SW MOVIE?????? HELL NAH IM NOT HEARING YOU OUT!!!!!
You must've missed the part where I said this is a subjective ranking. I'm not gonna immediately put it in S tier just because it's the first Star Wars film. You're also forgetting that B tier is a decent ranking. I consider anything B and up as good to amazing.
@@MovieFusion Subjective doesn’t excuse you from blowback. Without the original, NONE of the others would exist. The OG movie broke every barrier technologically, established absolutely iconic characters, and set the stage for EVERYTHING in this incredible story. It was a cultural phenomenon. To say it’s a B, and that animated shows, sequel trilogy movies are ABOVE it is a joke. It shows a fundamental lack of respect and understanding of its place in history, and in this franchise. It should be at least an A. At least.
@@williamstormo2922 Absolutely. It changed movies and entertainment and technology. The characters were iconic. It intrudes the Force. Jedi mind tricks. Lightsabers. Costuming, makeup and visual effects nobody had seen before. Arguably the greatest movie score EVER. The original Star Wars is a work of art.

I mean i did agree with u that tfa was better than anh... But it is MOST CERTAINLY NOT AN S TIER LETS CHILLAX ALRIGHT
I am just baffled that you put Acolyte in C and not F. Saying that the story is terrible but puts it a C. Non of it made since fucked up the lore, and the lightsaber fight if you look at a deep dive at it its terrible. Re-watch it, slow it down, and tell me it makes sense. But hey, if you like it you'll like it.
I didn't put it in C, it's in D (which is a really low tier btw). I also didn't say that the story was terrible. I said SOME of the writing was bad and the story structure was bad. There are a lot of good storylines in the show that I enjoyed, and the lightsaber dueling is very good. And nah, I'm not going to waste my time slowing down a fight scene to nitpick it. That seems so pointless. Movies aren't meant to be watched by slowing it down. You could criticize like any fight scene by slowing it down and finding minor things that you would never notice watching it normally.
How does my opinions being different than yours mean I don't know anything about Star Wars? That doesn't make any sense... Do you only want people to make tier lists if they agree with you on everything? That sounds boring.
@@MovieFusion i watch people making tier lists because i find it interesting how they rate stuff, however when i see someone rating objectively bad stuff S tier, then i assume they might not have a thorough understanding of the underlying subject, hence i lauth at their oponion and thus tier list. objectively here is meant in the sense of there being a consensus among people who know what they are talking about.
@@macx7760 "objectively bad" is not a thing. What is good or bad is rated purely subjectively. This list is subjective. Your opinions of the list and/or the movies on the list is subjective. finally another ranking video
You’re so epic for this
For the sequels id rather switch the last jedi and force awakens and make TLJ s tier honestly, fans of sw are so divided that there willing to hurt, exploit, and made fun on everyone's opinion to it being actually better than the TFA or TROS, but overall a very respectful ranking and one i can agree with as a regular movie goer.
1. Journey to the dark head
2. The 9th jedi
3. Empire strikes back
4. A new hope
5. The duel
6. Lop & Ocho
I'm still not a big star wars fan but I do love anime.
Where would you rank The Acolyte? I know a bunch of people who didn't even watch it and felt like it broke Continuity.
Just wondering do you have the template for this list cus I kinda wanna do my own lol
Attack of the Clones being higher than The Last Jedi is a crime against humanity. Not putting the Last Jedi in A is 💯% a war crime.
@@Voltar I’m totally against Kennedy’s woke agenda but the Last Jedi is still a great film.
@Most negative things that you can say about the Last Jedi can all be attributed to the lack of world building by the Force Awakens.
Force awakens over 4 and 6 left me quite shocked😂
And over 3 and 5
TFA 2 tiers above ANH is actually shocking

Putting Rise of Skywalker above episode 1 is blasphemy. And TFA in S tier? Da fuck?

You should have put in the 2003 Clone Wars series. One of the best Star Wars shows. I would say it, The Clone Wars 2008, The Mandalorian, and Rebels are my favorites for the shows. I haven't seen Andor and a number of other shows though.
May be crazy but I like bad batch over clone wars. It’s better written and animated and very cohesive experience
S-tier (The absolute best)
Clone Wars season 5 (Everything about it is perfect IMO except for the two first episodes of the "Into the Void" arc)
Clone Wars season 4 (The Umbara, Slave, Bounty Hunter, and Nightsisters part 2 arcs are all some of the best Star Wars content out there)
Clone Wars season 7 (The Bad Batch arc was a great introduction to the group and it was really enjoyable. The Sisters arc was pretty meh but I don't hate it as much as others do. The Siege of Mandalore arc tho is 100% the best piece of Star Wars content out there. It is the culmination of some of the show's best arcs)
Revenge of the Sith
Rebels Season 3
Rogue One (It's very underrated. I loved it when it was released, and I love it even more after Andor. I also like the connections to Rebels)
The Mandalorian Season 2
Empire Strikes Back
A-tier (Great)
Rebels Season 2
Andor Season 1
Rebels Season 4
Return of the Jedi
Clone Wars season 3 (The Nightsisters, Mortis, and Citadel arcs were all S-tier level content for me. The finale arc with Ahsoka was really good as well IMO)
Bad Batch Season 3
Bad Batch Season 2
The Mandalorian Season 1
A New Hope
B-tier (Good)
Ahsoka Season 1
Bad Batch Season 1
Clone Wars season 2 (When I rewatched the show recently, I realized how good this season was. The Holocron heist, the second battle of Geonosis, the first Mandalorian arc, the Zillo Beast arc, that one episode with Hondo, and finally the Boba's revenge arc.)
Clone Wars season 6 (The Fives arc is one of the best arcs in the entire show, the Clovis arc was fine, the Jar Jar stuff was hell no, and the Yoda arc was pretty good)
Rebels Season 1
Tales of the Jedi
Solo (It felt useless but I did enjoy it)
C-tier (Decent)
Tales of the Empire
Attack of the Clones
The Force Awakens (I used to like it a lot but the rest of the sequel trilogy ruined it a bit for me)
Clone Wars Season 1 (Rookies, Malevolence arc, Ryloth arc, pirate arc (carried by Hondo), and Newt Gunray arc were all enjoyable IMO)
D-tier (Bad)
Mandalorian Season 3
The Clone Wars movie
The Book of Boba Fett (Mando and Cad Bane carried)
The Phantom Menace
The Last Jedi (It would be F tier but I don't dislike it as much as the stuff in F-tier)
F-tier (Horrible)
Kenobi
The Acolyte Season 1 (Even tho there were red flags before it released, I wanted it to be good, but it just wasn't)
The Rise of Skywalker
Man ranking all of this was hard 😂
I was definitely tracking until the force awakens 😂 I'm gonna try my best to listen to the rest but that was a curveball for sure
Probably, actually definetly the worst tier list i have ever seen but i do respect it! great video
in my opinion, if we stick to live action stuff, Andor was probably the best Star Wars thing since the Original trilogy. Perhaps this is an unpopular opinion, but here it is.
Force Awakens is my favorite too!

Last but not least, Captain Phasma, who's been intimidating the entire movie is being done dirty by being humiliated just for cheap laughs with the whole trash compactor scene
Edit: Don't mistake my criticism for negativity though. I appreciate the dedication you put in for this tier list and I loved every minute of watching this video!
Controversial opinions but mostly true I disagree with phantom menace force awakens and a little bit of attack of the clones
Visions is good they don't deserve tto be F tier.
I can see the comments don’t understand the concept of a personal opinion
I’m not sure how he can put A New Hope in B tier while also saying The Force Awakens is the best Star Wars movie…. It’s literally a carbon copy of A New Hope, but with less interesting and iconic characters. The only thing that movie has going for itself is the visuals and cinematography… but that should already be a given. The Force Awakens had so much potential to tell a new and captivating story… but instead we get a story we’ve already seen. That’s beyond lazy. C tier at best.
No Holiday Special??? 😢😢😢 It's like the best movie ever made....
Boba Fett series is soo weird, Boba story is bad, two Mando episodes within it are S tier (e5 & e6).
Ahsoka episode 4 is my fav too.

I stated all my reasons in this video. I had less good things to say about Visions compared to The Acolyte.

And nah, I'm not going to waste my time slowing down a fight scene to nitpick it. That seems so pointless. Movies aren't meant to be watched by slowing it down. You could criticize like any fight scene by slowing it down and finding minor things that you would never notice watching it normally.
