Oola is probably my favorite star wars glup shitto honestly. Those who don't know, the original actress refilmed new scenes for the special edition rancor scene and apparently was in better shape than she was during the original filming.
I wanted to talk about some of the behind-the-scenes information for the dancers, but that entry was getting very long. Reading about her actress was very interesting, and I'm pretty sure she was at a convention I went to once as well!
How did they film the new scenes? Was it a green screen and really good special effects, or did they have the old sets, build new ones or what? How did they do that?

Listen. I just want to say that I wholeheartedly appreciate the work that you did with this video, and the previous glup shitto vid. I appreciate your candor regarding the star wars lore, both legends AND the canon. So many SW essayists, no matter how great their videos are, often carry with them a smugness towards the canon star wars. "Disney ruined Star Wars" etc etc. I love the humor sprinkled throughout the video, and as someone who loved the legends books, seeing some of them make a cameo in these videos warms my cold heart. 10/10 I need to see more of your stuff for sure.
i love both continuities and there’s things to be criticized about both, and i’ve been making my way through books of both continuities. honestly, these glup shitto videos are a great excuse to learn trivia and know which books or stories i want to read next.

the kylo/kybo thing happened because Lucas had a list of names that he'd just jot down as they came to him. when he was done with the OT, he ended up letting the people working on the cartoons use all of his notes (fun fact, he considered Ewoks and Droids to be canon) both kybo and kylo were on that list. later, when the sequels were in production, they decided to use the other one by pure accident
My favorite glup Shitto is still Tyber Zann from Empire at War. Just a run of the mil Crime boss with a giant falcon man as a bodyguard who stole the emperors flagship and accidentally released an Army of ancient sith warriors. Man had so much dough that he could just buy Enemies
I feel like a lot of big expansive franchises like Star Wars have one crazy guy who wrote a bunch of stories that could potentially link them to celestial horrors, interdimensional rifts, and the real world. Michael Kirkbride does that sorta thing for Elder Scrolls, Warhammer has a ton of that stuff sorta just baked in, etc.

About X2, I would mention that is was Rahm Kota, Starkiller’s master, who actually convinced X2 to join the rebellion. This was also Kota’s last chronological appearance in legends
I actually grew up playing Elite Squadron on DS, but never got entirely connected with the lore or wanted to complete it, but I recall when I finally won the last fight I locked myself inside one of the school's restrooms to fully concentrate, and some friends were waiting outside. I got out and said "I won." and they cheered. I was never fully aware of this game's fame, I just happened to play it. I found it a bit weird overall but didn't even know so far it was little known. I'm glad X1 and X2 got mentioned, there was a sparkle on my eye 😂

GNK droids don't come with pain receptors installed. The service Droid in Jabba's palace specifically 'upgraded' that specific GNK with pain receptors in order to test their efficiency in motivating droids.

When you mentioned Luke's other childhood friends alongside Windy Starkiller, the mention of "Tank" stung like an old wound. I read those Rebellion comics when they came out back in 2006, and 14-year-old me was really hurt by that whole story about long-lost childhood friendship and its eventual unraveling

Kybo Ren is such a weird villain because despite being such an inconsequential character who has NOTHING to do with the second arc of droids, he's also somehow the main villain of the second arc because the other two just instantly lost after one episode despite being more important. That whole show was such an oddity, would be perfect material for the third iceberg, particularly the lower levels.

One of my favorite EU minor characters was Boba Fett’s old rival/partner D'harhan; a member of a species who had their entire bodies replaced with weapons to try and defend themselves, but they ended up losing their war despite it; D’harhan became the last member and became a bounty hunter. Also may I add that Luke’s friend Windy Starkiller is a combination of Starkiller (Luke’s original surname) and Windy which was likely taken from Mace Windy who was the protagonist from George Lucas’ brief draft of the Star Wars story which he gave to his agent. Of course, Mace Windy was changed to Mace Windu for Samuel L Jackson’s character in the prequels.

i love both continuities and there’s things to be criticized about both, and i’ve been making my way through books of both continuities. honestly, these glup shitto videos are a great excuse to learn trivia and know which books or stories i want to read next.

While not 'perfect', it was still really good seeing some of my favorite books and movies from my childhood and current life being compared and contrasted due to having similar overarching themes.
the kylo/kybo thing happened because Lucas had a list of names that he'd just jot down as they came to him. when he was done with the OT, he ended up letting the people working on the cartoons use all of his notes (fun fact, he considered Ewoks and Droids to be canon) both kybo and kylo were on that list.
later, when the sequels were in production, they decided to use the other one by pure accident

My favorite glup Shitto is still Tyber Zann from Empire at War. Just a run of the mil Crime boss with a giant falcon man as a bodyguard who stole the emperors flagship and accidentally released an Army of ancient sith warriors. Man had so much dough that he could just buy Enemies

I feel like a lot of big expansive franchises like Star Wars have one crazy guy who wrote a bunch of stories that could potentially link them to celestial horrors, interdimensional rifts, and the real world. Michael Kirkbride does that sorta thing for Elder Scrolls, Warhammer has a ton of that stuff sorta just baked in, etc.
@@beytran70 Bionicle's lore can be summarized as "what if a big company gave one of those guys a big budget and told them 'go bananas, it just has to sell toys'". The Bionicle lore apparently goes really deep, even in the less-favorable years of the series. So it's another great example

I actually grew up playing Elite Squadron on DS, but never got entirely connected with the lore or wanted to complete it, but I recall when I finally won the last fight I locked myself inside one of the school's restrooms to fully concentrate, and some friends were waiting outside. Kybo Ren is such a weird villain because despite being such an inconsequential character who has NOTHING to do with the second arc of droids, he's also somehow the main villain of the second arc because the other two just instantly lost after one episode despite being more important. That whole show was such an oddity, would be perfect material for the third iceberg, particularly the lower levels.
Man, I JUST started reading through Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy, and after a few hours of reading decided I needed a break and turned on youtube only to see this. A bit more Star Wars won't hurt, right?

One of my favorite EU minor characters was Boba Fett’s old rival/partner D'harhan; a member of a species who had their entire bodies replaced with weapons to try and defend themselves, but they ended up losing their war despite it; D’harhan became the last member and became a bounty hunter. yeah i should’ve mentioned the picture i found didn’t actually look like the figure he had. i absolutely SWEAR he had a figure of gardulla though. it was pretty small and had solid black eyes, but it was almost definitely gardulla. i’m not well versed in the different kind of star wars toys, and i’m not in contact with my friend any more to make sure.

Also may I add that Luke’s friend Windy Starkiller is a combination of Starkiller (Luke’s original surname) and Windy which was likely taken from Mace Windy who was the protagonist from George Lucas’ brief draft of the Star Wars story which he gave to his agent. Of course, Mace Windy was changed to Mace Windu for Samuel L Jackson’s character in the prequels.
And later, Malakili was appointed to represent the French in leveling charges against Major Sharpe. What an arc!

Glup Shitto suggestion: Ratio Tile and Allah Gold from Backstroke of the West. If you've never heard of Backstroke of the West, it's a Chinese bootleg DVD of Revenge of the Sith where the Simplified Chinese subtilties were distorted and further mangled when translated back into English.
