@@BeachRC Damn dude!!! You killed with this one as well!! Did you get footage from this years Fuel Nats at HRCR? That’s my home track and it was a hell of a race!!
This was a great documentary that hit on history on ROAR, how 1/8th scale class came to be and become prestigious, along with how an event starts and finishes in a single weekend. This documentary allowed us to see drivers for who they are in their natural element outside of racing as well which showed me the humility of the racing community. I applaud those who created this documentary and look forward to more. I would enjoy seeing how INS by JConcepts came to be along with an INS race weekend. On-Road racing event documentary would be enjoyed as well.
This is awesome. We need to get RC into the mainstream and the two ways it needs to happen is lower prices on quality RCs (let’s be honest, brushless RCs) and we need more big names like Kevin talbot making FUN videos… not product openings or technical videos that only apply to those already in the hobby. Nobody is getting into RC from seeing a video about a light kit or seeing people race $5,000 RCs…. We need more people filming meets like spec slash and spec drag racing events that almost anyone can get into
It would be nice to have lower priced RC cars but when this happens it mostly means they are kind of crappy and the world we live in today everything is expensive. I see what you're saying though. Growing RC is something we RC enthusiast should all strive for. I wish Talbot would get into racing RC so that side of the community would grow. Thanks for watching and the comment!
Very cool vid, and nice work. Lots of memories. Grabbed a RC-10 in 1987 and never looked back and have been racing since. Bought a Losi GTX in 1996, and raced it till 2006 when Losi quit making a 1/10 scale nitro truck. First release Xray Truggy in 2006, it still wins to this day, against brand new gear. Really ticks those new guys off when I snag a trophy with a truggy that has about 18 years under it's belt.
wild to see discgolf and rc in one video which are my 2 hobbies lol. I occasionally play in tournaments a few times a year and when im not doing that on the weekend im racing.
brings back memories with my nephew racing . work on the sound track lol ! I remember calling teckno when they first started up now they are pretty good . cranky uncle Bubba fjb
I've been watching RC for the better part of the last year and it's nice to get an inside look at one of these events. Such a good thing to be a part of if you have the time to spare for it.
😎 Lucas, you knocked it out the park! That was the quickest 55 min ever, left me wanting more. I know that was a labour of love but boy was it worth it. Seriously high quality documentary, 5150 Productions watch out as there a new challenger in the ring!! Your choice of score to accompany the video is friggin SICK and makes for highly entertaining and engaging watch. I hope you find a way to get paid to make these in the future. I thought that your mini series that you did last year was great, this was a whole other level. I know that ROAR is fiery topic over there in the USA currently and love the way you managed to weave that into the context of the film too. I do hope I don't have to wait too long for the next release from Lucas Films 🔥🔥🔥
Super Love back to you! I like that you pay so much attention to the details! It's awesome! I'll bust out another one of these sooner or later and hopefully it will be even better! Thanks again!
The edit with the "Off The Ground" tune by Sub Focus at @28:50 is really awesome with the build up, and even goosebumps with the first slow-mo's lol (also because of the tune ofcourse :D).
Not only should there be qualifying for nationals, the nationals should be an actual championship, 12 rounds with a points chase leading up to a national champion. Think of the excitement that would bring and if roar would work in with the big race promoters races like DNC Silverstone etc could be rounds of the championship
Yes of course there should be qualifiers to make Nationals. No matter the sport there's always a qualifiers in order to compete in a National event. I don't think it would be difficult to do. Each state would have its own race where the top 3 qualify for the national race. Each racer must be a resident of that state in order to prevent people from racing in multiple states to try and qualify. 3 people in each state times the number of states equals 150 racers. Very simple. Of course tho a would be for the expert classes only sportsman and intermediate can either follow the same guidelines or make it first come first serve to as many racers as they want to attend.
Technically, we need to thank Tesla for the concept of radio control. But everyone who participates in any form of rc. Crawlers, racers, bashers.....we all come from the same 10 year old who just wanted to drive.
@@BeachRCnot perspective, just lacks skill😂. I hate when ppl come in the comments talking trash about a video that RUclipsrs take time and money to make just so we can watch it for free. Obviously he like racing or he wouldn't be watching it. He's just mad he can't do it, but in the end I truly hope he gets better so we can see him on the stage one day. If I'm wrong about him then it's a good thing God gave us our own opinions
The sport is underrated
It sure is. One day we may break through to the common consumer.
Stayed up all night....got hammered
Man we really need more of these RC Documentaries because I just keep watching this one over and over. Good work on this guys!
Thanks a lot buddy! More to come in 2024!

Great job!!! Just one suggestion: Include some "un-edited" racing footage, especially for the mains. Cheers!!
I'll think about this and see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestion. It's a good idea.
I think "Flying Cars" was better 😂(JK)
Agreed! Thanks for watching! 😂

Of course they drink bud light in California. Only place left to buy it
Isn't Sierra Nevada Brewery next to the track in Chico?
When in Roam.

How is the change from nitro to brushless going to affect these racers?
I guess time will tell. One day sooner or later combustible engines will fade into obscurity I would imagine. Thanks for watching!
Video was good. Music was meh...
Thanks for watching!
Funny, calling it the world but none of the top european/asian drivers are there. USA is not the world.
I'm sure I said "some of the best in the world", it was a national championship.
@@BeachRC yeah later i realized it was nationals. Did find there was a lot of difference in skills though. Was nice to watch, a finals were great
Rcing is fun, but racing is not. It is that simple.
It's all a matter of perspective I guess. Thanks for watching.
I've read some stupid stuff before but this honestly takes the cake 😂 Have you ever tried racing properly? 🧐
