    The piece meal vids are great but I prefer this format all day. Just one click for an hour of nuance.

    I have hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating disorder). I will use gatorade here and there when training...I think I'll trial using it more consistently when training.

    Thoughts on chromium picolinate supplemention for lifters during cuts to maintain LBM? may increase insulin sensitivity but I'm not sure if it does for non-diabetics or populations without chromium deficiency

    "Why are you watching this if you're an endurance athlete?" I mean don't you guys -- and the physical activity guidelines for Americans that you reference all the time -- recommend that *everyone* do resistance training 2x/ week =D

    Give elderly patients either estrogen or a test base with an oral AAS that has more efficacy for anabolism AND increase protein intake and increase physical activity then it will work for more medical purposes. The problem with the studies is giving doses of just testosterone to keep someone in a physiological level(usually on the low end) without any other changes... of course there won’t be any benefit. That’s the same as saying “is a 50 year old going to recover from having 40% of their body burned better than a 70 year old?” Virilization of females is the only actual issue I can see, considering liver enzymes come down after stopping orals quickly or a chlorinated instead of methylated oral won’t effect the liver, and the cardiovascular effects are only really a concern long term at supraphysiological levels (especially with 19-nor AAS’, less so with DHT derivatives), and most of these patients will probably be inpatient so IM shots once-twice a week wouldn’t be an issue with a high protein calorie surplus diet order along with an order for physical therapy. Hopefully in terms of virility a SARM will be FDA approved soon though, it doesn’t completely negate virilization concerns but they are way lower risk when it comes to virilization.

    Bariatric surgery is dangerous, in so far as it circumvents the real problem. A brain and behaviors which are destructive. Eventually, that destructive brain and behaviors will re-manifest. And from a philosophic level, a brain, uncontrolled, is an existential problem that needs addressing.

      This is a bizarre claim to make, and is contrary to the existing base of clinical evidence on the matter, especially when comparing outcomes from surgical vs. “lifestyle-only” interventions for weight loss.

    • @CraigCastanet
      @CraigCastanet 3 года назад

      @@tzqrr I'm so impressed that you responded. It's a privilege that you would. But the medical sphere only addresses things from a non-philosophical, pragmatic approach, except, perhaps, occasionally in the psychiatric field. This is where I often find medicine so wanting. We're treating humans like mindless, destructive behavior is incurable, and not the best path to change. As an aside, you and Jordan are doing fantastic work, and have earned tremendous respect from the medical and weight training communities. You're truly great exemplars of both fields.

      @Jared Lind Austin and Jordan once discussed in a poscast, why they stay at 200#. They where right. The sell and appeal to more people if they dont get too bulky and bloated. They are MDs and sell health.

      @Jared Lind I just give my honest impression. Even my son said "bloated". And as a businessman - and grateful customer - I want to give feedback. At 200 he looked better and healthier and that would also swll better, I assune. I want them to do well and rise to the position they deserve (#1 in Fitness).
