UPDATE! We made it into New Zealand's largest newspaper! BurgerFuel has ALREADY, in the past, taken legal action against The Burger Club which is why they slightly changed their logo and removed the doofer (burger holder) from their marketing 👍🏻🥝 The Burger Club did not comment - no surprises there. They kept hanging up on the reporter and not putting her call through to the owners. www.nzherald.co.nz/index.cfm?objectid=12127948&ref=twitter.
Also, to the people hassling the cashier in the video, leave her be. She was a warm and nice person and I doubt she gave me ripped notes on purpose - it's just something that happens in India that you need to be aware of. These ripped notes can be exchanged at the bank for new ones 👍🏻

I had been there at the same restaurant last week with my friend as we were around there and I didn't want to go to Burger king (which is located just on the other side of the road). Ordered a couple of chicken and mutton burgers, tangy fries and some side menu items just to try it out, not expecting much out of it though. Well tbh we were surprised that the burgers actually tasted much better than those over hyped chains (burger king, McD) and had like double the varieties of burgers in the menus with other interesting side stuff.
And Yeah the "Free Ice Tea" with any burger displayed in bold on the counter is a sham.., when asked about it they said its been months since they stopped serving it for free anymore.

Author Karl Rock, an Aucklander living in New Delhi, stumbled across what he describes as the "counterfeit" fast food outlet in June.
"I just googled the best burgers in Delhi and this was one of the places that people recommended, and it was near my house, so I decided to go there and when I got there I was blown away by how similar everything was to New Zealand and to BurgerFuel in New Zealand," Rock said.
"I just knew it was totally ripped off ... it's too obvious when you put everything together."
The Herald has been unable to make contact with the owners of The Burger Club.
The burger chain operates at least three stores in India.

I like your channel Karl. Really nice and thoughtful videos. You have covered a lot of places in India. Kudos you learnt a good amount of hindi language. you not just speak the language but understand and then reply in the language, which is great. Plus your accent doesn’t sound weird at all. Keep up!!

This restaurant surprised me ! Firstly I have lived the majority of my life in India and have seen sweet potato street vendors all through my life. The shakarakand was always considered "as a poor man's food". After all these decades I am amazed to see people paying for the kumara fries in a restaurant ! I wonder if this trend will catch on and other mainstream restaurants include it in their menu. Secondly - The use of NZ specific words - Kumara fries , Kiwi Burger - these words are mostly uncommon in India - and kumara maybe confused by Kumar - popular surname in India.
If you find any place dishing out fish n chips or pavlova, please make a video. Will give them a try when I am here in Delhi. My boys will be excited to see Kumara fries in India !! Chur..

Valeria Vagapova Hindus don’t eat beef because they worship the cow. In fact, the slaughter of cows and the sale of beef is illegal in most states of India, if I’m not mistaken. However, censoring the image of beef was probably a tongue-in-cheek comparison with alcohol, which has to be censored in movies and tv programmes in India.
