You should place a towel around the circumference of the basket inside. I saw you dropped a screw or a washer. That will keep them from going down into the bottom of the basin and potentially getting ground up while you’re doing laundry.
Great video, thanks!! yep, mine did not come off easy. Took a half hour of pounding and prying, but I finally got it off without damaging anything. It was rusted on pretty good. Usually the case.
Nicely recorded. Thanks!
I pulled the inter Drum, and used Dawn on the seal. That's just me......
is it possible to remove the rubber seal from the transmission? or do I need to buy a whole new transmission?
these transmission are repairable
4 bolts out of transmission. Still stuck in there. Video doesnt really show it coming out. Does it take working it out? Im afraid im going to break something else oulling it too hard. What is holding it in
Sometimes they get rusted in there, and you have to either take a hammer or sometimes even a sledge hammer and just pound on the top of it until it falls out the bottom. Don't worry about breaking anything. Because the only thing you're really hitting is the top of the transmission that you're replacing anyways.
Thanks. I did get it out, yes by pounding on it. Now, here's the next question. Replaced transmission, replaced drive hub. When washer starts agitation, when the wash plate turns counter clockwise.... major grinding sound. Took wash plate off and zero noise while agitation. So, I said well replace the wash plate too. So now all new parts. Same grinding in agitation when turning clockwise. I don't understand. Has to have something to do with the wash plate. Tried tightening nut on washplate very tight. Tried loosening it. One other thing.... it was grinding so I stopped it and lifted lid. So lots of water in there. There are bubbles coming from the nut and bolt area. No clue if that's normal. So, yeah. Replaced it all and thought it's good. Nope. Can't figure out why it would grind still
Did you have to remove the inner tub to get the transmission out?@@stefaniecarlisle84
I changed out my 'shift actuator'... didn't work. I did notice there's some (but not a lot) of oil on the plastic guard and a few other places. Do you think this would be coming from the transmission?
That’s possible. Do you notice the transmission making noise when it shifts? What does your belt look like?
Does this oil look, or feel like dust? Dirt? There's black residue under my washing machine. But it doesn't feel like oil.
Where can I buy the transmission??????
I got mine at Amazon. Here is a link
amzn.to/3wMXIJF
About $250.00
Yes from the transmission. Mine did the same leak oil and water. They are repairable when you have spare ti,e..
No one mention's recalibration after changing components.
Damn I thought you were gonna put a th400 in a washing machine or something like that lol
Right that would of been cool.
Needs to stay away from washing machines. I have to laugh as to why this machine is still working, I mean really. It's insane to watch this.
