Hi there. My washer will spin but not agitate. From watching your videos, it looks like the shifter/actuator must be broken. It's juts a small Haier portable washer (HLPN21) and I've already fitted a new belt. Do you know how to fix/replace that part? It looks nothing like this one, unfortunately. Thank you.
**Repair completed today**- My model is- wtw4815ew1. I watched your first video regarding how to get into diagnostic mode. My results were identical. Diagnostic test results- Green light indicator on 'sensing'. Indicating a- the shift actuator part has failed. I watched the second video. Immediately ordered the part 45$ bucks, but arrived the next day. Used a 5/16 to remove the bottom cover, unplugged the electrical connector of the shift actuator, then remove the 2 phillips screws holding the actuator. Once I removed the actuator, I was worried. I turned it over, and the lever was not broke, it didn't jiggle, and I thought- FUCK! And I doubted you. I was pretty certain, I had just ordered a 50$ part for nothing... regardless, I put the new actuator on. Connected back the hoses, plugged the machine in. And when I did, no lights came on.. and it began clicking. ...... dam! O but wait, like ten seconds later- THE WASHING MACHINE ENGAGED AND FIRED UP.... HELL YEAH. Sorry for doubting you. And Thank you sir for the spot on information. Which is why I had to make time to come back and help others as you have, and do. God bless.

I tried that but it wouldn't do it. I figured it out. I do have another question I change the shifting sensor but my washer still is not working and when I did the error code is still coming up as a sensor issue. Would there be another part that could be wrong or is the sensor I bought the problem
I did everything to a T and still doesn’t click over and begin wash mode. I can hear it try but no dice. Super annoying. I even replaced the dogs because those were stripped too
Hi, so I had the same issue, stuck on sensing. Diagnostic showed sensing. Bought new shifter, installed it, still stuck on sensing. Diagnostic for new shifter still shows sensing. Any ideas?
So I followed everything. My diagnostics said sensor error too. I got a new actuator and triple checked i put it back in right. I even recalibrated too. Still when it goes to wash mode it just does nothing but you can hear it try to click over but doesn’t start washing. Hellllpp😢 haha
So. I stumbled onto your videos as I have the exact same model machine. Ours has started dumping water out that appears to be coming from underneath, but isn’t doing it on every cycle. I ran the diagnostic and got the sensor error same as you. Was thinking about ordering a replacement sensor...but wasn’t sure if that will fix whatever is causing it to dump water on the floor. FYI, it only seems to happen on heavy loads like towels/sheets. Any thoughts?
I did everything on the video replaced it with the new one and it’s still doing the same thing. Does anyone have any information on what else it could be?
Thanks for taking the time and walking us through. I have the part on the way. Can't see any broken pieces on old part. Is washer good to go after replacement or need to be recalibrated?
Thanks for watching. You should be good to go. The machine should calibrate its self. But if it doesn’t follow the calibration instructions in the manual
Just swapped it. Still getting the same sensing error and now can’t even run the calibration because it sounds like the washer is dying (new issue). Any suggestions?
Aloha...we have a washer that looks exactly like this but my model is wtw4815ew1 , which isn't listed in the part numbers in the amazon link.I have never tried fixing a washer myself but my son and I watched your videos, and practiced taking the cover off etc so I think we can do it but now I am not sure if the parts would be the same?Thank you!I am trying to find someone to help me fix it but have not had any luck.
We have the same exact machine, when it gets to the spin cycle it will not pump out and spin. If we do a manual spin by selecting "drain and spin" it will pump out and spin but it won't do it on its own. Is that a similar problem to what you saw? I am considering removing the switch in the video to see if I can see if the linkage is broken inside....any thoughts? Great video by the way
Yes that’s exactly what happened to me. It would switch over. I would start with that switch. I have a amazon link above it that part needs to be replaced. Good luck
@@OFFAxisBuilds Replaced the switch today with a new one. Same problem...when it gets to the rinse cycle it will bring water in but it never spins the water back out, it does pump it out but it has to spin to get the clothes more dry. If I select the drain and spin option it will spin out so I know that mechanically it works. I'll have to do some more research but anyway your video was great.
It’s possible you need to reset your machine. Unplug it for 30 seconds Then plug it back in Once plugged back in press the start button 10 times. Then try to run it again
@@OFFAxisBuilds Got it fixed today...I went into the diagnostic mode and the flashing lights indicated a slow fill issue that would then interrupt the timing of the cycles. I then pulled the hoses off and found that the inlet valve screen for the cold water was completely plugged. I cleaned it out and ran a cycle and now it works perfectly! So happy
My Son replaced my shifter switch on my whirlpool washer wtw 5000 Dwl and the sensing light was still on and it only operated on clean washer with affresh cycle. I reset it and everything else. Do you know what else it could be?
+Monica West does it continue to fill or does it eventually stop? I would double check that the shifter switch is in the proper location. It might be that it’s not in the loop at the bottom, it could also be a bad switch. I know I have replace a few. Also check to make sure the belt didn’t slip off.
@@OFFAxisBuilds Ty for the response. It does fill and it eventually stops. It only fills a small amount but only runs on the washer clean with affresh cycle.
Ok please help! I switched the motor, ran the calibration (forgot that part after i switched the motor), washer ran fine for a week, now its like the drum is getting stuck. I believe one of the error codes was F7 E1. It has me going back and forth, test this test that. Could you please point me in the right direction?
Good video...wat was the part number you got from Amazon...my model number is wtw5000dw1 but it's not cing out there is other ones that look exactlyike it but they HV a different number
@@OFFAxisBuilds the belt looks OK, when I turn it to spin the water will drain but it will not spin. If it was a coupler bad could I still hear the motor tuning?
Yes you should still hear the motor turning. Can you put it in spin mode? Will it rotate in that mode? It might also be your lid latch. Do you hear it lock after the finding mode, or can you still open the lid?
@@OFFAxisBuilds I ran the washer thru the diagnostic led code on rinse and spin and the washer did not spin. There was a click and the lid locked. Any ideas?
@@OFFAxisBuilds I ran the washer thru the Diagnostic led code in rinse and spin. I heard water running then I heard the pump but it did not spin. There was a click and the lid did lock. no grinding or smell of anything burning or smoking. just stopped

Any ideas?
If that didn’t fix the issue it might be your lid latch.
can you put the link to buy the replacement part?
amzn.to/3yCSRxy
It doesn't need to be calibrated?
So I followed everything. My diagnostics said sensor error too. I got a new actuator and triple checked i put it back in right. I even recalibrated too. Still when it goes to wash mode it just does nothing but you can hear it try to click over but doesn’t start washing. Hellllpp😢 haha
Thank you 🙏
Glad I could help. Thank you for supporting my channel. Make sure you subscribe and share with your friends.
I would start with the sensor that rammed to help me and I had a very similar issue I just didn’t allow it to over flow.
I have ordered the sensor. Thanks for the link! Fingers crossed that solves my issue
Good luck. I have Another video on replacing that sensor
Yes sir I replaced the lid latch and the sensing light is on
That’s great is your machine running now?
I did everything on the video replaced it with the new one and it’s still doing the same thing. Does anyone have any information on what else it could be?
I switched the part and recalibrated it, but when I diagnose it still shows the same light? What should I do?
I changed that sensor 2 weeks ago. Now it's bad again. These Whirlpool/ Maytag washing machines are horrible.
Completely agree I repaired mine for almost a year after warranty then I just finally replaced it with a better machine. These things suck.
@@OFFAxisBuilds what washer is better?
My new machine is a Samsung
Thanks for taking the time and walking us through. I have the part on the way. Can't see any broken pieces on old part. Is washer good to go after replacement or need to be recalibrated?
Thanks for watching. You should be good to go. The machine should calibrate its self. But if it doesn’t follow the calibration instructions in the manual
Where can u purchase the sensor?
Amazon Whirlpool W10913953 www.amazon.com/dp/B01N38MC0R?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Should I reset the codes after installing this part ?
How long before first repair on this washer? Months or years?
I did my first repair 1 month after the 1 year warranty
Unplug it for 30 seconds
Then plug it back in
Once plugged back in press the start button 10 times.
So happy
Awesome
My actuator arm doesnt have enough reach to the gear shift why is that
My machine it looks working normal , but it never washed clean, only little tiny circle when it on washing models, is it normal?
+chaimei huang is it agitating? Can you tell if the cloths are in the same location that you put them in?
@@OFFAxisBuilds i am going to do washing right now, let you know after 30 minutes .
@@OFFAxisBuilds I can answer you now, yes, they are in the same location 😭
Sounds like the transmission might be bad or the belt is broken and the clothes are not spinning
@@OFFAxisBuilds thank you
My Son replaced my shifter switch on my whirlpool washer wtw 5000 Dwl and the sensing light was still on and it only operated on clean washer with affresh cycle.
What is the part I need to order? And i so appreciate you!
amzn.to/3BRVV9h
This is the part you are looking for. Good luck and thank you for the support.
Thanks so much. So I did this and its still getting stuck on the wash cycle.. any ideas?
Ok please help! I switched the motor, ran the calibration (forgot that part after i switched the motor), washer ran fine for a week, now its like the drum is getting stuck. I believe one of the error codes was F7 E1. It has me going back and forth, test this test that. Could you please point me in the right direction?
It might be your belt clutch directly under the drum. Or you broke a belt.
Good video...wat was the part number you got from Amazon...my model number is wtw5000dw1 but it's not cing out there is other ones that look exactlyike it but they HV a different number
I have a link in the description. It will take you right to the part on amazon
mine will drain but will not agitate or spin, advice please
Check the belt. I have a video on how to replace the belt. Check it out there is a link to it at the end of this video.
Where’s the Amazon links? Thanks man.
Here is the link. Good luck

The lights are blinking orange not green. What could this be?
Where did you get that part from ?
Ethan Shields I have the details in my description. I purchased it from amazon.
