Very informative, thank you. I got the code F1-E0, not sure what that is, do you know? This is only the 2nd time I've used this washing machine brand new and am having issues. Won't go into rinse cycle and clicks a bunch(lock does work it does lock) wash light flashes and nothing happens
@@b.3713 I looked real quick online and the only thing I can come up with is that the machine needs unplugged for 15 minutes then put back in period if that doesn't solve it, I would suggest are running a recalibration on the machine to see what it does
@@bensappliancesandjunk Thanks for the quick response. Hmm, I have done that. I'm doing a cycle right now to see what happens. I did the test where's it runs and checks all the parts and all the lights flashed green, I assume that is good?. How to recalibrate? Wash cycle completed again and its clicking not going into rinse cycle. Wash light now flashing.
My fault/error code is perplexing. It just has all the lights lit and they flash like this; 2 quick flashes and then no li&hts for about the same amount of time and then repeats. HELP

Went back one click left, pushed start, all lights light and blink and just stay blinking. One click right and only the sensing fill button lights. I did not hit start again. This is an Amana belt drive machine. If I put the machine in "Clean Washer with Affresh" mode it goes through all the cycles with no problem. This makes me doubt it is a mechanical problem?
Did this and it does not give any fault codes only the sensing fill light blinks but still will Not go past sensing fill . Have reset it and tried for codes twice with nothing
Hi! I Have a Maytag - Atlantis Model MAV6200AWW. is about 18 years old with a problem of no draining water from clothes during spin mode. I replaced lid switch and no joy. what's next?
Oh, that's a good one. Haven't heard that before. The dial is attached to a shaft, that's attached to the control board on this style washer. You'd have to take the panel off, unplug machine, and see if there's any way to re-build that stem and attach the knob to it. If the knob was bad/damaged, just get a new or replacement knob. If its the stem... May be able to rebuild one with maybe super glue and baking soda.

Like trying to figure out some sort of mystical washer puzzle. And once you're lucky enough to crack the code, you can now pick up the phone call the repairman.
No matter what I do, follow the procedure, lift the lid 6 times, unplug it, etc, I can never get more than one light to illuminate or blink on my Amana.
- UPDATE: After emptying my washer halfway, which was stuck with a full tub and did nothing, I finally got the lights to blink. Here's what I did: - After doing the counterclockwise full rotation reset on the cycle knob and THEN DOING THE FOLLOWING PATTERN, I GOT THE LIGHTS TO BLINK & DO WHAT HE SAYS. - *Amana: (in the manual): R3×, L1, R1 - But after that I'm stuck because everytime I turn the knob one click I get a different error code set, so that could be like 12 or more. What am I supposed to do with all these codes?!
HERE'S HOW TO CALIBRATE the Amana after you replace the shock absorbers or other major parts: Go to diagnostic mode as described in this fellows video. All the LED's will be lit. FIRST make sure there is no clothes or water in the basket. Then all you do is ROTATE the control knob until the MIDDLE led is lit . You will have 2 leds NOT-LIT to the left and 2 NOT-LIT on the right. (ignore the RED LED). Now it is in CALIBRATION mode!! all you have to do to ACTIVATE CALIBRATION mode is press the START button. Then the machine will go through some 2 minutes of clicking and spinning the motor. Just be patient and wait for it to do its thing. Then it finally clicks and ALL THE LED's are OFF. That means it is done with CALIBRATION. wash some clothes and see if it is fixed. Mine is fixed but ONLY replacing the shock absorbers DID NOT FIX IT. It must be calibrated any time you replace a major part like that. I found my REPAIR MANUAL book inside the washer on the FRONT panel. Only had to remove the TOP PANEL to get the repair manual.

Hi!!!! This was a GREAT video!! Bookmarked the page for future reference! I'm trying to repair my Mom's Amana NTW4650YQ0 top load washer and the control board was burnt so I bought another board with the same part number off of eBay labelled as a Whirlpool control board. I know that a variety of brands will carry the same type of control board so I was pretty confident as the part number was the same. I installed the new board, plugged in, set the machine to a small load and the machine filled fine then the lid locked and it went into wash mode. So far so good, right? Cycled out of wash mode and went in to rinse mode and then all lights went off so I took the hose off and drained all the water to try again. I tried entering diagnostics based on other RUclips videos but your detailed video really did the trick and I finally succeeded. I tried manual diagnostics and the machine entered all the cycles and I could hear the drum spinning so the rinse/spin seems to be working fine but I don't know why it's not rinsing during regular use. I also ran the diagnostics and only the "fill" LED flashed so I'm assuming everything is fine. What else can I try?
Great video. I am retiring and wanted to get back into repairing washers and dryers. I was at a lost with the newer stuff. Greatly appreciated. Keep them coming.
I know your comment is a yr old, but hoping to find some info! Whirlpool washer wouldn't drain so I figured out it was the pump ordered had someone take off old one but they couldn't come out new one on as soon as I needed do we called a man that has been working on them yrs and yrs. Well he charged $100.00 and yes it will pump water out but it is making a click somewhat on verge of a grind sound not for long but just while it's switching from after washing to start rinse spin. But it sounds like it's spinning and still swishing like a wash cycle at same time. I have reset it.
So a little unclear on the coding. If Wash =4, Rinse=2, Final Spin=1 Cycle Complete =0 How would you ever get a 9 code and why would you bother with the Cycle Complete if its value is zero?
If I bypass the lid switch Which colors do I jump. If it's not getting the closed info/is there another way/place to bypass the lid closed signal? Thanks
Impressive Now/will I get the F codes first and after?a few seconds the E code appears? The paplet says F is the issue?E is the part involved?I think. The pamphlet is almost like a tiny Electric Code book. Stupid thing after one sentence/it refers you to another page!!! Thanks
The only light I had blinking in codes mode was sensing fill (Amana). But I don't see that as a code. Washer won't go to deep water wash. Anybody have any ideas?
Skipped something here. At 4:36 there is a blinking fill light, and "I don't have all the codes, but I can show you how this is going to work." A second later there is a close up of the lights, and the fill light is on steady. Mine just keeps blinking the fill light the way the washer in the video is blinking at 4:36. Does this mean there are no error codes? Is there something else that needed to be done while the light was blinking to get the error codes? My washer alsways skips rinse. On regular cycle (cold/cold), the fill light comes on and it fills, the wash light comes on and it washes and drains, then it goes straight to "final spin". One rinse cycle, the fill light comes on for 3 seconds, then it jumps to final spin. Really weird...
Ben my Kenmore 500 series I did the diagnostic test exactly like you showed and mine only came out with 1 light at the end, the sensory light lit up, what could that be? I'm so confused
Saved having someone come out and check that needed a new board and with cost of that plus board could get a new washer. Which is what we are going to do.
So mine was messing up. And I replaced the lid lock thing. It still didn't work. So then I found this video. And it flashes the fill and spin light. But I still don't know what that means
Hi, I have an Amana washer and I did the diagnostic like you showed. The only light that keeps flashing after I press is the sensing fill. Do you have idea what it is? I am having problems with the sensing fill mode, it does not stop until the washer is full.
Is the only light its showing in the actual error code lookup is sensing fill, nothing else - or is it that when you try to start a cycle, all it does is flash sensing fill and nothing else?
@@MariaMoreno-iy6nm GENERALLY that means it cannot detect any fail codes. If you cycle through the next one or two codes and get the same info, there may not be any major codes stored in it. Having said that, the sensing fill light flashing when the machine is running, and not doing anything else 'til its filled - it may be a pressure hose/switch problem on detecting proper fill volumes which typically doesn't have a code to it. I would suggest re-calibrating the machine, and make sure that clear plastic pressure hose isn't damaged.
Bens Appliances and Junk thank you so much for replying back and for sharing your video. We think is a major problem with the transmission because the agitator does not spin when is put to wash. And we also found oil leak at the bottom of the washer 😥
What if whirpool washer keeps locking and unlocking. I stopped using it for about 6 months as i moved out of state for a bit now returned and its not working
Why do my Amana washing machine keeps clicking and it doesn’t go pass the wash cycle, I also don’t see my lid light on no more even when I run a diagnostic on it.
" inlet water temp fail " I don't know what that means, though. My washer will wash and then drain but then stop. It wont drain the dirty water it just stops .
I’m an adult. If I want to wash an entire load of clothes with the lid wide open I should be able to do that. If I’ve got a kid that’s big enough to climb in it while it’s running and they’re dumb enough to do it then they deserve what they got coming. Thin out the dumb ones.
Good video for explaining how to read error codes!!!! Just wished you would've explained that on some washing machines that wash could actually be the #8 then it would go 4 2 1 and lid lock would act as your #0!!!! I bought a $30 water inlet valve because I read it as an f3 e2 when in fact it was an f7 e5 my actuator.Other than that good informative video.
I've done updated videos on this. Sadly, RUclips hates the idea of editing videos, otherwise I'd of added more content to it. The problem is that older versions of these washers (like the one in the vid) add the #8 in there, while older ones only went up to 4. I made this video before that was a frequent thing with these style washers.
This should be the top comment. The key values can’t form the last 3 codes on the list, so they’re not a matching set. Just buy a new washing machine. The part you need probably costs half a washing machine anyways
@@josephdixon81 I doubt that unless you need a board and even that on my machine isnt what they want for a new washer! 544 at home depot for mine. I bought two parts for mine to fix it and it cost me less than 50 bucks.
Well hell, all I can say is thanks you have made me not look mad in the head, when I figure after changing a lid lock switch, there'd be a reset of some kind.
Same here. I’m assuming it means nothings wrong? My elderly mother thought hers wasn’t agitating but I think it was ok? Hopefully OP will respond to this?
Hi thanks for the video it shows on my amana the fill and wash blink and then the complete blinked. So that is F4..0? I don’t see that on your list. Any ideas?
Yes, Fill/Wash should be F4. However, Whirlpool/Amana may have changed the codes slightly on the newest machines with an additional set of numbers and codes. Some machines don't start at #4 at wash, but rather #8 (then 4, 2,1, ect). If that were the case on your machine, it could be F8/E0 which would be low water volume to the machine (clogged supply lines / bad valve / ect)
I’m getting the same code on my Amana. Sensing Fill and Wash are blinking and then Cycle Complete blinks. (F4-E0..? Which is not on the list in the video. The machine is at least 5 years old so I’m not sure if the codes are the same.) I just put in a load in the morning and it was working fine. All I have been able to get it to do is drain/spin and that was after a few tries it finally worked twice. When I start a normal cycle it just starts to slowly spin back and forth, like it does when it’s filling or washing, but no water comes out. After a few minutes it starts to drain…air because there’s no water lol. Has anyone had this problem and figured it out? I wish I could fix it myself!! I don’t know if to call a repairman or just get a new one.

I have a Bravo model of Maytag and it would spin out of balance. I just changed the suspension rods and that solved the problem for about 5 washes. Now it's out of balance again. I did the re-calibration and the Spin light stayed on and blinking. Any advice?
What does it mean if ONLY the “sensing fill” light flashes?
I asked this question too, hoping for a reply!
I got F3 and E3 what’s does that mean if I look at them separately I have 2
Different error
Codes because you don’t list F3E3 ? Why does it mean?
So a little unclear on the coding. If Wash =4, Rinse=2, Final Spin=1 Cycle Complete =0
How would you ever get a 9 code and why would you bother with the Cycle Complete if its value is zero?
If I bypass the lid switch
Which colors do I jump.
If it's not getting the closed info/is there another way/place to bypass the lid closed signal?
Thanks
I got to everything but then when I reached diagnostic mode the sensing fill light just keeps blinking not showing any codes. Did I do something wrong
Impressive
Now/will I get the F codes first and after?a few seconds the E code appears?
The paplet says F is the issue?E is the part involved?I think.
The pamphlet is almost like a tiny Electric Code book.
Stupid thing after one sentence/it refers you to another page!!!
Thanks
The minute I plug it in it starts making a noise and I get no lights and the start button does nothing..its an Amana NTW4516FW3..I'm confused
Mine blinks sensing fill, wash, and cycle complete, then blinks just cycle complete.
What does it mean
The only light I had blinking in codes mode was sensing fill (Amana). But I don't see that as a code. Washer won't go to deep water wash. Anybody have any ideas?
Since when do we have to become scientists to use a washing machine? This is ridiculous!
Since the government demanded high efficiency standards on every machine
Thank you so much I am not good with computers phone but I did Google you and fix my washer by your instructions thanks again happy happy joy joy
4 years a g o but
When u hit clear.the knob had moved from where it had been?
It's now at 7 oclock?
Can a bad fill sensor cause the lid lock to not stay in locked mode?
Did you ever figure this out?
I have a Kenmore with the lights display. However, my light that shows Fill in your video has Sensor instead. Will the code for that light still be F?
So mine was messing up. And I replaced the lid lock thing. It still didn't work. So then I found this video. And it flashes the fill and spin light. But I still don't know what that means
You never said a word just spent the dial 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Sensing, wash, rinse, spin, complete all blinking green after the diagnostic code check
This video helped me so much. Ended up diagnosing my problem and fixing it myself. Thank you for this video. I did not know about any of this.
This looks like my Roper I bought a couple of years ago. Same design as the whirlpool?
Nice instructions 😊. But how to go back to automatic mode 😅. I can't go back 😫
Great in-service
Thanks buddy got tru
God Bless you for the video.
Bens Appliances and Junk is the actual error code .. that’s the only light that blinks.
Nothing else blinks
So question…. What is everyone washer doing? As for me the agitation is so slow I feel my clothes are not getting washed.
Kenmore 100 sense light on.i give up trying to reset or get codes.
I'll flip it over tomorrow.
Follow the noise
The stp lid lock was wrong with it lol i bought the part 😢 now the stpd lock doesnt unlock acting dumb 😢😂
My washer is flashing fill and final spin intermittently. I don't see that on your video.
Mine stopped while washing?
I guess.
Now it will hum below but that's all.
The sense ing light is on.
@@josephdixon81 my comment or the reply
@@josephdixon81 I doubt that unless you need a board and even that on my machine isnt what they want for a new washer! 544 at home depot for mine. I bought two parts for mine to fix it and it cost me less than 50 bucks.
Roper, Fill and wash lights flash together then go out and the cycle light flashes. What is the washer saying?
I appreciate the valuable info, but please pronounce Amana like an American.
Am I the only person in the universe with the amana washer that doesn't have the knob?! Wth?
not getting any response from my washer after trying different speeds of switching knob.
Well hell, all I can say is thanks you have made me not look mad in the head, when I figure after changing a lid lock switch, there'd be a reset of some kind.
I just moved my Kenmore to the basement for winter it was working and filled with water and now it won't turn on I tried this and nothing
You sound just like this guy Brandon “investment joy” 😂
I did the test and got the final soon light and cycle complete lighter on as a result. What does that mean. Is that EW?
maybe it's this way. or maybe another way. or maybe a different way...
I have an F3 E3 code. I cant find out what my error is! Any idea?
All that's happening for me, once in diagnostic mode, is the sensing fill light is flashing. No codes. Any idea what that means?
Same here. I’m assuming it means nothings wrong? My elderly mother thought hers wasn’t agitating but I think it was ok? Hopefully OP will respond to this?
Oh and thank you for posting this video by the way! You have helped
Straight to the point great video
I have a Amana wash machine when is spinning is making a boom boom boom boom a bumping noise
These new washers are garbage compared to the old ones. The old ones lasted forever.
How do I get it out of diagnostics mode all lights are flashing
Hi thanks for the video it shows on my amana the fill and wash blink and then the complete blinked. So that is F4..0? I don’t see that on your list. Any ideas?
Yes, Fill/Wash should be F4. However, Whirlpool/Amana may have changed the codes slightly on the newest machines with an additional set of numbers and codes. Some machines don't start at #4 at wash, but rather #8 (then 4, 2,1, ect). If that were the case on your machine, it could be F8/E0 which would be low water volume to the machine (clogged supply lines / bad valve / ect)
Same..i have the same machine from tve Video and light Fill=F and wash=4 plus cycle complete light= E0...
I got F2 E0, BUT I don't know what that means, any suggestions?
Teresa Rodriguez I’m getting this same code did you figure out how to fix yours?
I did everything but I only get the fill bottom in green. It doesn’t rinse
Why do these Amana washers fill up all the way when set on Auto sense even when there is a small load?
This is the first YT video ive seen with "index title" markers on the red time bar .... NICE ! , ill have to update my videos.
Really? Interesting. I've done it with a few videos, but certainly not all. I am unsure how beneficial they are yet.
I got codes F4 E0. These codes are not on the charts you gave us
