Thank you for making this video! Btw everyone, if starting at normal doesn't get you into Maintenence Mode just move your dial clockwise by 1 and try the sequence again till it works... my Kenmore has a few less options and I finally got mine to work after moving over 1 time and trying the sequence 3 different times.
My Kenmore Series 100 won't flash all lights. It just shows the green light all the way to the left and the red light for the locked lid. If I pull on the lid, the lock disengages and the red light shuts off. The problem that I'm having is that my getting a loud grinding noise. I've removed the pulley to the clutch and the teeth that engage are perfectly fine. I'm assuming that it needs to be recalibrated instead, When I plug in the washer and the green and red light lights up, it will take a moment and do a quick spin allowing me to hear the grinding noise for a second and then stop. It will continue to do it again and again around every 30 seconds or so. I didn't take the time to be honest.
I have an older whirlpool, mine is agitating before it even is filling up with water. I already unplugged it and i played around with the knob. it did work one time but then its doing it again.
Help. I replaced the suspension rods, recalibrated the washer, washed a load of cloths, and the machine started refilling with water after the spin cycle. However, no code appear during the diagnostic test.
DTM (great channel name btw), I found you through Reddit. I hope you don't mind me asking: I have Mazda truck (Ford ranger, basically) and I'm trying to find a way to make some money while I study for my main (hopefully soon to be) hustle. Is appliance repair a good side hustle or do you have any other ideas to quickly get going? Appreciate what you do!
Hi. Yes, I believe appliance flipping can be a great side hustle for a student! The overhead costs are low, and if you offer delivery, you should not have trouble selling. I would recommend starting with whirlpool/kenmore direct drive older style models. There are a lot of resources available online!
@@DuctTapeMechanic yes, from your videos, I can tell these brands are your bread and butter. I'll definitely see what I can find locally and see what I can do. Thank you!
This might sound silly but my whirlpool has a power button at bottom beside 6 oval lights. Should I power on before doing calibration because doing otherwise no lights come on
Hi , I had the same code and replaced the same part on my whirlpool washer , when I do calibration mode when it spins it’s super violent and never stops , and eventually get that same code again for the basket speed sensor , could it be bad spring rods causing my whole problem ? It doesn’t go past sensing when trying to start machine , also to add it won’t end the calibration reset mode , assuming because it can’t calibrate steady ?
Does both water valves have to be connected for these machines to function properly? During testing my machine i capped the hot side and ran the cold side. However, it started the wash cycle over after the spin cycle was complete.
Yes, exactly. I saw a video saying restart the diagnostic mode, but instead going through the diagnostics turn the dial to wash and done then unplug it for ten seconds then plug it back up. I don't know if that will work or not.
Thanks for your help. Apparently this washer does multiple rinse and spin cycles. I thought it was starting the wash cycle over but it completed an additional rinse then another spin cycle before completing the entire process.
The hum was my drain pump? I'd marked it good last time I felt like trying to fix it.2003? Ordered new pump.120v is there. H2o solenoid click s first then the hum.thanks!!! Use my owners pamphlet later/page 12/do the run down on pwr.etc.
As always, very informative and super helpful
Thank you for the support!

Great tip!
I just canceled a service appointment, so you saved me at least $130. Thank you
Another great video. I like the STP hat. If you ever make a Duct Tape Mechanic hat I would buy one.
Thank you! I will look into making a DuctTape Mechanic hat when/if this Channel gets bigger! Appreciate the support!
Very informative and useful information thank you for sharing it 😊
Thank you sir!

These stop working way too easily. I want the old washers back. Same with cars.
Me too! I had a dryer 40 years old and a older washer that actually worked! I regret upgrading big time. This is all junk plain and simple junk.
What about if the machine doesn't go in calibration mode. When I put it all lights just go off and nothing happens.
Can I still do this if I don't have lights on my washer to know when it's time to hit start?

What if it fills with water on small loads but not enough water for larger loads. Could that be because it needs to be recalibrated?
Mine just makes an awful sound when it’s “sensing” but won’t go any further. What do I do

You shouldn't have to power it on before recalibration. Plugging it in should be enough

Is your washer like the one in the video or older style one with a timer?

My lid lock button keeps flashing red, won't lock and fills the washer with water but doesn't work or go thru a cycle...help!
Any help
After load finishes. Washer still sounds like it is trying to pump out more water. No lights and washer will not turn on.
Sounds like a bad control board caused by a shorted out pump. Replace pump then board (if it is worth it)
What happens when don’t stop pumping water?
I went through these steps all that happened is the sensing light is flashing.
If I smoked
I could have enjoyed 3 or 4 before you got to calibration.
I h Ave a hum and no lights.
I'll try once more /thanks
Hahaha.. well, hopefully it works!

Mine just stays on sensing and no locklid lights on and won’t recalibrate
LG washing top lodging can on but can not pump water ok
