My problem: The tub would fill up, then sometimes the wash cycle would start. It never would enter rinse & spin . Then It would drain and the “wash” led would remain lit till I unplugged the machine. Your troubleshooting and recalibration video was easy to follow. It helped me understand the system and figure out that I needed a water inlet valve and an actuator. My machine also had a technicians guide in a plastic bag stuck to the inside front panel. With your video and the guide everything fell into place Thanks
5:18 is exactly what I needed to know. My heavy agitate seemed so weak and could not find anything explaining this, my capacitor was bad. Replaced the cap, and like new again!
Immensely helpful in testing my drain motor after cleaning out sand. To others with this model: My unit will only run a normal cycle with 1 Rinse selected; I tried everything except replace the board - so that's either a workaround that might be helpful to you (just stink to 1 Rinse), or a cry for help (Anyone know why?) depending on where you stand.
@Bens Appliances and Junk Hi my whirlpool washer fills, washes then drain. After that it's stuck on the rinse light without spinning after draining from the wash cycle. What do you suggest might be the problem and how can I fix it?
Hey! Not sure if this will be seen but worth a shot. I have the exact same model as this, and just did the test and the agitation isnt happening at that step, its making the regular noise but not moving. Sooo..yoi mention either the motor or capacitor is bad, so the million follar question is how can i determine which os at fault? Thanks so much, great video
I tried calibrating my maytag bravos washer. It shuts off when i press the start button. I've tried to find a video on this issue, but there isn't one. Can you point me in the right direction?
Great videos, I refer to your channel quite often. I have a couple of questions: When running diagnostics, do both hoses need to be connected to the washer? If so, does one HAVE to be hot or can they both be cold? When checking codes, why do I sometimes get the same code twice in a row with the only difference being that I get the “done” light at the end of the E code on the second code?
Depends on diagnostics. As long as you aren't doing auto-test, you don't need hoses at all. We often run them without hoses just to test the essentials like lid lock / spin. You can run cold/cold on a Y-split without issues just fine. On the codes, its probably adding a +1 on it as a variant. Like on a lid lock error, it could be a fail state for both on and off, or a shift actuator + motor code.
@@bensappliancesandjunk ok. I wasn’t sure if part of the diagnostics was to test the thermistor. If it isn’t obvious, the machine I am working on is my first machine (other than my own machines). I never knew there was a diagnostics and error code function until recently. Thanks for your help.

I have had some leakage I think is related to getting out of balance. I couldn't find anything wrong except the Money(Dimes) under the Agitator. God Bless, C.
Generally, calibration is only needed if you had to replace a component on the washer such as a mode shifter, suspension rods (for re-balancing), motor, or other major components. Some newer washers already re-calibrate if a new component is installed, but I am unsure if a 2019 Maytag would need it.
After doing the Auto test, the Cold inlet would not open. I'll take the assembly out for inspection shortly. Hopefully this is the only issue, since I don't have a multimeter to check for opens. I wish wringer washers would come back (manual, mechanical control for me to monitor).
And ... silly me thought the only trouble I had was broken leveler legs. I'm going to bet that I have at least one broken leveler PLUS... the suspension problem shown. Now the question is - do I just spend $$$ 500 plus for another machine .... or spend a hundred bucks for parts and take a chance?

I tried to run the calibration mode and had to unplug it because when it got to the spinning part it started getting so loud and moving all over the place kinda made me nervous . Also when I hand push the drum is makes a squeaking noise when I movie it horizontally thanks greatly appreciate some advice
Likely suspension rods are going bad making unit bounce around. Most newer washers will detect the washer banging around and error out of higher spin speeds. If its a whirlpool, I do have a video on changing the rods out.
