This is how EVERYYYYY VID on RUclips should be.. Simple and straight to the fuckin point!!! GOOD JOB!!
Seriously. It took me 45 minutes.
Absolutely solid video, but your parts were SOOOO much cleaner than mine were! 😂
As usual, RC came through again!
Highly recommended, and thank you again for the video!
This fixed the leak on my Maytag Washer. Thank you.
Same. I'll check back again in a week, then a month.
thank you for these very interesting videos.
Most people are too obtuse to even imagine fixing their own things. Thanks for helping to keep the spirit of self reliance alive! Great video. I realized the bearing in my transmission is not in that great while replacing the tub seal. Now when it goes to tits up I'm totally prepared.
You're welcome!

@@repairclinic 5 stars coming your way
Same. I did a dry run while I wait for my tub seal to get here. I want to tell everyone in the comments "I thought y'all said this was hard?"
Then again I do take apart stuff and put it back together for a hobby (and formerly a living)
Thank you so much for this video, super helpful.......20 👍🏻
oh hell, I aint doin that!
Great video.
And this is why the part costs nothing, but the labor is $300.
It took me literally 45 minutes. And only that long because I didn't have any metric sockets leaving me having to borrow one
That could be a bad water inlet valve. I would recommend using the repair help section of our website (link in the description). If you enter your model number there you'll have access to part, model, and symptom specific repair help. This will give you some ideas of different parts you can check.
well made video. i love those shiny icons XD
I think its awesome the RepairClinic would go to the trouble of replacing the seal on a completely new machine just to Educate there would be Customers . I have Used you guys many times and thats not about to change Most time i have never needed the Videos But this time I did although my machine is completely different I believe the info will be of great use to me. Got the seal a day or so ago only to find out i need a Puller, I see you guys carring one but its more than what i would have to pay for a used machine, So that's not about to work ! I'll improvise, But something you might wise to think about is mentioning the need for such tools b4 customers place Orders then maybe offer to rent the needed tool. Your most Welcome
tahamonie We're not sure what you're referring to. Do you mean the tub nut wrench? Because that is only $10.84 on our website.
Drive Bell Tool
RepairClinic Item # 472617 Aftermarket (Non-OEM) part Cost 113.50

god bless u my bro
Just call the man Aunt Bea!
Thank you after seeing your video, am now convinced I shouldn’t have messed with washer to start with. My knowledge is zero so why agitate and think I could fix the leakage!!!
so this would fix the my problem that I have with my washer because it leak water when on wash cycle
I didn't have to remove all of the gear assembly components. I just unplug a few cables then remove the entire gear assembly.
Don't keep working, Knight
What spanner wrench is that? I have the same tub and shaft
I have a 2014 whirlpool washer. Do you think this is the same seal?
Have someone hold down the cabinet while you lift. You can also use a rubber mallet to tap the center shaft and loosen the tub.
Mine will not come loose. Kenmore 80 series. Are those 4 tabs that to be depressed on main shaft in of inner tub?
Is this the same setup as a roper rtw4516fw2?
Lacking the official Whirlpool grease, what is a good substitute?
Take whole machine apart to change one tiny seal? What a design!
Yeah, wtf? This is a complete engineering failure.
@@SectionF4 money maker. Seal is $50! Toilet seals are $5!
Would be cool to change seal from the top center tub pole
My newer Samsung top load washer is leaking could a bad seal be my problem? The hoses seem ok
This repair would be necessary if a leak was coming from the bottom-center right?
Should you replace the bearings at the same time, ours leaked and grease washed out of the bearings? Is there a video for that?
hello..... did you ever o the route of replacing or repacking transmission bearings? I'm in the same boat ! LOL!!
I am haveing a problem with inner tub it wont come out it feels stuck. i tired wiggling it an pulling up but it just wont come out
Obiviously best case scenario. No rust, no wear, no nasty cruddy residual detergent or softner. 😂 But still appreciate the video.
I have replace this exact tub seal, it worked for a day. It has been leaking since , worst every day.( day 7) . I am going back to the drawing board, either tomorrow or the next day.I am not sure what it could be, but i will take it apart & maybe something will show up!
Did you end up fixing it ? I replaced mine twice but still leaking it leaks more when I manually turn the agitator with my hand, maybe my seal should fit tighter on the rod that it goes on? I may add electrical tape to make it slide on a bit tighter .
Did you guys apply grease to the rubber seal? Were there any burrs or scrapes on the shaft ? There's only one place for H20 to come from . It's either a bad deal or bad shaft right?
@@2derekjeter2did you fix it? I ordered the seal at first but then after assessing the entire shaft assembly I said screw it, I'm taking it all out I may as well put all new parts in . Got an entire kit with tool for $48 or so on Amazon. Changing it out today. 2012 Cabrio I'm not willing to give up on just yet lol
Putting together a computer was harder than this

Inner tub wont come off transmission help ! 5000dw model whirlpool
I learned something but I am trying to trouble shoot water leaking from the top of washer tub after cycle is completed.
counter clock wise...../////???? some say clockwise since its a lefthanded thread,,,,,,,,,nevertheless mines just wont give way.....I use wd 40 and it still want loosen???maybe my hammer to weak or me....any suggestions for the spanner tool ...trying to install the tub seal
dablock2k3 On this model, you must turn the spanner nut counter clockwise - it is not the same on every nut though. It depends on your model.
mine is leaking water whirlpool ultimate care 2 heavy-duty super capacity plus any video that'll teach show me how to replace the tube seal please urgent...
The washing machine makes a lot of noise when squeezing, as if lubrication is missing in the bearings.
will need to be changed or can be lubricated
i don't have that special tool to remove the special nut on the tub on the top part ...any suggestions should i try and knock it loose with a hammer and screw driver by hitting it left to see if it comes loose?
Don't!
Update: after changing the tub seal, my 11 year old gearcase finally gave out. I used the experience I learned to change it.
Commenters: I thought yall said this was hard? I had the machine disassembled and reassembled in less than an hour.
I replaced the seal twice and it started leaking again only after 1 wk of use, on one of the rings I noticed it tore a little piece from the inside of the seal, I think the part I’m getting may be a cheap version
You did this the hard way.
+sierravmax excuse me for the dated reply, but what is the easy way? can it be changed out from the inside of the outer tub? i would LOVE to know this as I am about to dig in after MANY hours of troubleshooting just getting the tub out to fix another issue, then to put it all back together and it begin leaking.
sierravmax yea if like the easy way cause now my washer is fully disassembled
Th seal does let the shaft turn freely, it doesn't pinch the shaft so hard.
Soooo much easier working on a brand new washer that never seen a load in it. I couldn’t get the tub out even after soaking it with WD-40 and a rubber hammer. Going to buy a new one. Thanks anyway.
how do you know its that seal?? what if it's the water pump???
If that seal is leaking, the water will be spilling out from under the transmission housing. If it is the water pump, you should see it leaking from the pump!
I am adding to my comment about the washer still leaking, its a admiral model #atw4675yq1. Also i believe this design is flaw, because the seal is not actually seal between the two tubs, its just an observation!
You could do it without removing pulley and motor
1st check see if is a crack in The plastic outer tub. Many these junk washers have such horrible plastics in them they just crack all over.
And sadly is very hard get a replacement plastic tub. If crack isn't too bad can use jb weld, or 3m marine construction adhesive seal crack. If crack is too big best bet is finding a same free junk washer online to swap parts. Or just get rid of it.
where can you order this part?
I live in Atlanta GA and I order the parts from Fox Appliances. You might want Google it. 😊
I can't get the screw out the agitator. I'm turning it left. And suggestions?😌
I used a chisel and beat the hell out of it till it popped off, also sprayed WD 40 on it before
Too much work . Wow
At that point you have done a complete factory assembly. 😅
So hard
Got a little question here!New kits have a tie-Wrap in it?????what the heck is it for???Tie the lady's hands while fixing the washer?haha.Seriously anybody knows?
We don't know what the zip tie is for.
Need the name of tool used for th8s job
Carlson Batchelor We assume you are referring to the spanner wrench. www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Spanner-Wrench/TB123A/1021707?TLSID=1773
Need to fix a leak on the bottom of your washing machine? Simply take the entire fucking machine apart!
0
Good video. Horrible washer design!
A lot of other things could have caused the leak. This is absurd to take the whole washing machine apart, when you don't know where is the leak
Sadly this doesn’t look like the underbelly of my machine.
Inner tub does not budge !!! Wtf 🎉
I appreciate these videos but the way they have their trans assembly slide out so easily is very VERY misleading 😂 inthink they are workig on brand new equipment, itd be better if they showed a real life 14 year old machine and how they can remove the trans after decades of use.
Mine reached 11 years before tub seal failure. The hardest part of all this was waiting for the replacement seal.
Oh and that 8 seconds info is false. You can walk up to any of these model washers and put it straight into a service mode. I do it all the time.
"Just gently lift it out"
This thing is virtually WELDED in place. I feel insulted.
I had to use two set of plyers to get mine out. Now I can't even get the screw out under it.🙄
Is this a joke? Lol.
Are you out of your mind? 😂 disassemble the entire machine?
I damn near did it this past weekend, its easy . ill rather do it myself than paying $100+ for a service person to come out
