Weird right when I was done typing this he said he saw it in theaters at the same time. It was also a huuugely anticipated thing in our school!
I’ve always like this movie. People focus too much on ‘the twist’ than on the story. These people experienced immense personal pain and withdrew from society. The way in which they did that, and their continuing motivation to keep their children isolated, is a really cool concept. The problem is that everyone expects a twist ending from this director, and the trailers led us to believe that this was going to be a monster-horror movie.
Honestly in the Shyamultiverse this movie is a close second to Signs. As a youngin it was spooky and suspenseful and heartwarming and blew my underdeveloped mind.
Does anyone else remember when they gained consciousness? Like the first thing they remember? For me it was the introduction to this movie, the soundtrack and the shot of those trees, that flute. I'm kind of glad this was literally the first movie I remember watching.
I was a teenager when I saw this movie and I remember loving it. In fact, I was the only one among my friends who did enjoy it. But they’re a little shallow when it comes to movies. They tend not to appreciate the obscure, more out of the box ones.
@@IdkWhateverPs Not at all. You have no idea how my friends and I are with one another. In fact, they would probably tell you the same thing. They’re casual viewers and only really watch the more mainstream/blockbuster movies. It’s not their interest and things like this don’t make the cut for them. Hence, why I said they’re a little shallow when it comes to movies and I can say that because I know them. It literally has nothing to do with shitting on them or having an ego. This was barely a criticism on them or their interests. But people just love making something out of nothing. 🤷🏻♀️

Its always such a great feeling when a movie subverts my expectations because I have a bad habit of seeing an ending coming from miles away.
I was 13 when this came out
Chris is actually hilarious. You don’t get to see this side of him too often in his reviews.
This movie made my mum realize she likes some horror movies. She's watched and loved actual horror films since, but this was a good introduction.
Wow I totally forgot about how this movie started. I saw this in theaters when I was like....13/14? I remember wishing my friend would hold my hand lmao but the movie wasnt even scary enough. Weird right when I was done typing this he said he saw it in theaters at the same time. It was also a huuugely anticipated thing in our school!
God I love this duo when they come thru on a video together
Chris Stuckmann doing crossover vids with my other favorite channels (Double Toasted & now this) is making 2021 such a great year.
the score alone is enough reason to love this movie.
I absolutely love when you do videos with Chris!
Yes, it's a really cool concept, but it has no actual effect on the movie. Nothing happens as a result of the twist being revealed.
I still love this movie! I was blown away by the "modern twist" ending too. So glad to see ya'll cover it.
😁
I was a teenager when I saw this movie and I remember loving it. In fact, I was the only one among my friends who did enjoy it. But they’re a little shallow when it comes to movies. They tend not to appreciate the obscure, more out of the box ones.
This just feels like you shitting on them for having different tastes and makes it seem like you have some ego issues
@@Lauren-zx3gx Well yeah or maybe you should've declared that first 🤷♀️. Seems like poor wording on your part. I take back the whole shitting on their opinions part though that was a little extreme your comment really wasn't that bad
@@IdkWhateverPs poor wording? maybe, but why would I have to declare anything about something that has nothing to do with anyone? Lol. You can infer whatever you want but I don’t owe anyone more of an explanation than what I care to divulge.
@@Lauren-zx3gx Can't really complain about people getting the wrong idea then though goes both ways
The biggest plot twist for me was seeing "Featured Violinist: Hilary Hahn"!
Absolutely love this movie. I remember when it came out my parents went to see it together and my dad came home pissed because it wasn’t a horror movie but my mom loving it. She bought the DVD and I watched it and that’s when I found my love for Adrien Brody and Joaquin Phoenix. Fantastic acting. I never saw the twist coming (granted I was also 13 or 14at the time) just a beautiful film!
THIS MOVIE HAS THE BEST TWIST. especially for a year 12 year old
This was one of my kid obsession movies! I was like 10 or 11, and I’d just have my mom put it on while I played with my dolls or whatever. Watched it on repeat until the disc got lost :,)
Your signs video has been one of my favorites! So glad you got Chris back!
THE DYNAMIC DUO IS BACK
One of my favorite movies of all time. The musical score by James Newton Howard is fucking amazing! The Gravel Road has been my ringtone for years and I cannot go one day without hearing the strings of the violin from this soundtrack.
When he asked what’s that sound father, you don’t know how bad I wanted them to say.. that’s the sound of the beast woop woop that’s the sound of the police.
So happy you guys did another video together. The signs one is one of my favourites!
This was the first M. Night film I’ve ever seen. I had no clue what to expect, with that said I loved this movie, totally not expecting the ending . It sucks that people hate it for no reason.
Good job, guys! This made me chuckle quite a bit! Please do more M. Night films!
We’re the main characters for finding this😏
YESSSSS love this movie and you two together!!! Gonna grab a snack brb, so excited for this one!
Erik can turn anyone, even the politest person into a depraved laughing maniac
Hilarious yet so on point!!! Loved your video guys!
