He sometimes runs faster lmao
also his family is super wealthy apparently
I’m pretty sure his family’s rich too, so they probably donated a building to Harvard and got him in
He’s also a skilled gymnast lol. I think they reference it in Scooby Doo Where Are You
actually scooby's full name canonically is "Scoobert Doobert Doo." so not only does he have a middle name on top of being named scooby doo, but he has a full legal name
I started laughing hysterically when I read that.
I actually remember that being Canon
Missed opportunity for dooby doobert
scooby doo's real name is scoobert doo. "doobert" was made up by someone on twitter and yall still believe it?????????
@@mercedesdrake9113 no disrespect but it’s scooby doo, I love scooby doo but it’s not something I’m gonna be bothered to fact check. Plus it sounds exactly like something that would be canonical

Okay but giving the members of KISS fucking magical girl transformations is one of the funniest things

Could not possibly agree more
That entire movie is so wild and it's about a hair band from the 70s teaming up with a talking dog and four teenagers

Probably one of the best moments of that film not gonna lie

A lot of the stuff he said in this video can be attributed to Velma. Now THAT'S foreshadowing.
It's insane how adult animated comedy writers think "how do we create comedy? Oh that's right, just make everyone really fucking mean to each other for no reason, that's funy"
@@blokvader8283I'm convinced it's neurotypical people misunderstanding autistic-coded characters as being "mean" as opposed to......well......autistic
@@blokvader8283i dunno if I sound like a dick, but I truly think it’s because writers from like, 20 years ago and beyond had more vibrant social lives and experiences outside of the studio that they could bring to their art. The internet was still sorta niche, so you couldn’t use it to crowdsource a sense of humour or an idea yet.
They made shaggy and Velma racist too, they're both pretending to be another race I mean what the shillings!

Wouldnt he be made like in a lab to be the greatest shaggy irl and movies?

Don't worry Drew, now they've made a spinoff with just one character, and it's still not Scooby.
And it's the worst one made to date
i was going to say that part when he’s like “so no dog?” had he rolling im like if this video was made just a year later
Well, it's not only one character, it's just named after one character while also changing everything that made the show good and just decided to be "oh I hate it when this thing happens in shows and movies" while doing that thing and thinking that would pass as comedy.
His review of Velma would just be weeping.
Velma? How about Scooby-Don’t?
The main thing that drew got wrong with the timeline was assuming it was all one universe. I believe that the scoobyverse is a series of parallel worlds.
Gosh I wish there was an into the scoobyverse made with the same quality as spiderverse
@@jakefromstatefarm6969 I think there was a comic storyline about that...

I always unironically liked that movie. It has some really funny bits in it.
Also:
“This is tied for the most terrifying day of my life”
“Tied with what?”
“Every other FREAKING DAY OF MY LIFE”
Yeah, that was definitely a pretty good movie. It wasn't as good as the first one, but that was within the expectation for a sequel.
May I present a line from season 3, ep 4 of "What's New, Scooby Doo?" when distracting the mangled, twisted wrestler monster...
"Hey Twist, are you left handed? Or.. left handed?"
"If there's one thing I hate, it's ghost dinosaurs!"
My favorite fact from the og show that none of the adaptations have is that Shaggy is the best acrobat in their high school. Literally they mention it in one episode as an excuse for Shaggy to climb through a window but I have never forgotten it
Oh my goodness yes
I remember that so vividly!
Watch me SWOOCE right in
“He’s the swingingest gymnast” or something like that lol
In the original cartoon, Velma was so powerful that they literally had to narc her power by making her blind without her glasses
The fact that the actors playing Fred and Daphne in the live action films were married and still are today completes my childhood.
I just searched this up n this made my day
If you like the actor that plays Daphne you should watch buffy the vampire slayer! Amazing show
They also played together in I know what you did last summer... A very cliché but classic Slasher movie from the 90s😌
Knowing about this years later gives that film a more wholesome feel now 😊
the perfect ending 🥺
I used to think that Kiss wasn't a real band that only existed in the Scooby Doo universe and people liked them so much they became a real band
What 6 years ago lol
It would be better if that were the case
Omg they made KISS from Scooby Doo into a real thing
Tbf, isn't that *exactly* what happened with the Hex Girls?
Me too only recently did i find out they were an actual band
I honestly have no trouble believing that, in a universe where putting on a cheap ghost mask makes everyone think you're actually a ghost, that a dog could dress like a human and everyone thinks it's a human.
Louder for the people in the back pls 😭😭😭
The fact that Shaggy is a stoner and gave his dog the middle name "Dooby" always made me chuckle as a kid.
ha, thats like a weed
Except canonically Shaggy isn't a stoner and Dooby wasn't Scooby's middle name until Scoob came out.
@The Hypocrite I seriously doubt any IP that was geared towards entertaining children would "canonically" have a character (whose lore also includes him being an Olympic gymnast) that was a loud and proud stoner. Doesn't erase that he still gave off those vibes.
@@batman369able dooby has canonically been his middle name since at least mystery inc.

He seems like such an awesome guy. Love him.
There was a video of him going around a few weeks ago, where at a convention or fan meetup he sat down on the floor with an upset little girl and helped her calm down. Like he actually got down on her level, he didn't just pat her on the head or something.

The best thing the came out of the Daphne and Velma movie was the comment on the trailer where someone said Can’t wait for the next movie “Just Fred”.
close it's "just Velma"
It's just 90 minutes of Fred rambling to himself while he's driving to Home Depot and building a Rube Goldberg machine to trap some guy running around in a blanket
It’s actually like Just Monika, but worse and instead of Monika it’s Fred
The original live action film has LITERALLY the best casting out of every movie ever
I agree.

Well, Star wars, Harry Potter and Scott Pilgrim like to disagree
mr. robot does
@Riyan Sita YES, That movie deserves more love...
Okay but a live-action “period piece” of Scooby Doo set in the 60s could genuinely be so cool.
Omg, yes! I would drop money on that SO fast!
I agree. I would make it a PG style of Evil Dead 2. It's bloodless with mild violence. The monsters would be scary but it doesn't forget it's original cartoon's essence and humor. Think Adams Family meets Beetlejuice. Maybe develop each gang as fully developed characters and what they go through their lives outside of solving clues, like make them feel like real and likable teenagers. (Or college kids.) Scooby's design would also look EXACTLY how he did in Scoob (2020) since he looked perfect in that one. Unlike the 2000s films where it tries to be dark on purpose, this would be dark FOR a purpose. Very much like Zombie Island come to think it. People say they want a R rated reboot in the same tone as Riverdale and making Velma and Daphne gay, but idk, Scooby Doo was always harmless and meant for kids no matter what, even Zombie Island was still for kids just fine and having it mega-dark like Riverdale would be unintentionally hallarious for how serious everyone would be and could potentially damage the series if it's official.
ah hell yeah that would be so cool
the costuming potential is so big honestly. like mixing the iconic looks of the characters with the trends of the time to give them a varied but still recognizable wardrobe would be so fun
Exactly! I don’t know why they always set it in like 2626 but the animated movies fuuuucked so hard
“i’m your host, drooby goo” is arguably the best intros you’ve ever done. perfectly delivered.
The animation in the KISS movie is genuinely incredible, its smooth, lovely art style, and just overall makes me happy
Plus, the 2002 movie genuinely changed the character of Daphne for the better. They made her strong and smart and a fighter while still being girly and fashionable which Sarah Michelle depicted perfectly. I mean the tv shows and films after even kept this trope of Daphne being a fighter and standing up for herself
exactly! i idolized her as a kid (and i still do tbh) for her character being able to pull off lip gloss and cute outfits while also kicking a*s. it showed me that you can be girly AND strong without having to "commit" to one side
this reminds me of a meme that goes "you can't kill if you ain't cute."
Yes! She was a badass who was also cute and girly without portraying that in a negative light. SMG revolutionized the character of Daphne tbh.
Yeah, good on them for turning a cliche female stereotype into another, slightly less offensive stereotype.
(Honestly I think it’s fine, deep compelling characters isn’t exactly what the show is known for)
@@WhiteKnuckleRide512 Nah you got it twisted, bro. They took an already cliché stereotyped character and gave her more qualities than just "Freddy's pretty girlfriend". I get what you mean, women characters are often one or the other stereotype always just used as a plot point for a male character. But what makes 2002 Daphne so iconic is that she DOESN'T sacrifice her femininity for her badassery like SO MANY others. Usually a fictional badass woman was taught by her 50 older brothers, has deep trauma that can only be cured by the manly man hero kissing her, and always has some sort of make over scene where she puts on a dress and suddenly she is hot to everyone in the room because they'd forgotten she was a woman in the first place. Daphne is the complete opposite of that trope, she is established as a main character who contributes and not just The Cute Ditzy One. It elevated her character and set a new precedent for future versions of her.
Lmao sorry for the novel size comment. I just think we need to let women in fiction actually be diverse and real, with good AND bad qualities that are from a variety of motivations and not just a list of pre-approved stereotypes.
That chat in Daphne's livestream that says "Come to Brazil" at 5:40 is the most accurate and well-written thing in these movies.

fun fact! most kids movies end with a musical number bc back in ye olden days in theatre, the cast would come on stage for an encore as a way of separating the story with the actors, specifically after a tragedy play. and that tradition has been carried on through out cinema. not so much anymore, but that’s why a random musical number has been a kind of irrelevant staple in cinema lol.

Some fun facts I learned while my toddler is going through a Scooby phase:
- There’s actually 3 original Scooby openings: one that says “that’s a fact” that gets played in the opening, one that doesn’t, that’s played at the end in the first season, and another sung by a British band in the second.
- Scooby Doo’s name came from some Frank Sinatra scat improv where he said “Scooby Dooby Doo”.
- Scooby IS named after Scooby Snacks, not Vice versa.
- On the subject of Scooby Snacks, they are NEVER stated to be dog treats in the original series.
- “Meddling Kids” is only said 10 times in the original series, and Velma only loses her glasses six times.
- The gang is only children in 8-10 shows/movies, and adults in the rest.
- In the original series, Velma and Shaggy are dating in the first season, and not in the next, and Fred and Daphne are dating throughout.
- William Hanna and Joseph Barbera (of Hanna-Barbera fame) have stated that they always believed the original flavor of Scooby Snacks is Butterscotch Carmel.
I love this, isn't funny how we basically become experts on certain things thanks to our children's obsessions :p Also I remember reading a book that had a recipe for scooby snacks and it was cookies for kids and i think they were that same flavour they were so good :)
Love this I did knw some of them Im old so I love all the episodes from the 70s the new ones my kids like but nothing like the original
I am genuinely surprised that Velma and Shaggy are dating in the first season of the original show. I'd never heard that before and I've been a fan of Scooby-Doo my whole life 😅 I was under the impression that the only incarnations of Scooby-Doo where Velma and Shaggy had a romantic dynamic (and both times it ultimately fizzles out) were _The Mystery Begins_ live-action prequel and the _Mystery Incorporated_ cartoon.
As for Daphne and Fred, I thought they were only explicitly romantic in the much more recent incarnations of the 21st century.
EDIT: After doing some research, I have found that Velma and Shaggy also have a romance (resulting in a son) in the _Scooby Apocalypse_ comics. However I still cannot find any indication that she and Shaggy were ever romantically involved in the original series, _Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?_ 🤷🏿♂️ Is it possible you are thinking of the first season of _Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated_ 🤔? The two of them were dating at the start of *that* series, but that came out in the 2010s.
Cool but it’s called caramel, love you!
You're just the expert I need to consult;
Concerning the recent animated movie, Scoob, I thought it strange that Shaggy was the one to adopt Scooby Doo. Granted, it's been a really, really long time since I use to watch the old cartoon, but I swear the old Hanna-Barbera lore was that Scooby Doo was actually owned by Daphne (just Shaggy and Scooby Doo hung out a lot)
Can we talk about how Haley Kiyoko was in two movies where she’s in a group of five that meets in detention? Lemonade Mouth and that first live action Scooby Doo remake.
I never knew about any of the live action films other than the OGs so when I saw that clip I literally gasped

IVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR AGES. The 2000s scooby doo adaptations do no wrong. Also, Daphne's outfits are killer and the aesthetics of the movie are better than some high-budget movies these days.
@zijuiy wttuy Me too! I loved that episode so much
James Gunn wrote the screenplay for both live action movies.
the decision to neglect what's new scooby doo (the best reboot in the franchise) is truly criminal. there was a whole episode about shaggy being a mini golf god where the villain was a giant man eating clown
I admit, I didn’t watch that series very much, but that theme song is as good if not possibly better than the original one. It pops! And that premise is awesome! Sounds a little unhinged in a good way.
Mystery incorporated is my childhood and the best thing to exist, I will fight anyone who disagrees
Zombie Island scared the fucking shit out of me as a kid, I'm genuinely afraid to watch it again as a 28 year old. It was brilliant.
Too late, it's off Netflix now xd

That was my favorite scooby doo movie when I was in kindergarten 😭
My brother and I used to watch that one constantly, it was the shit tbh
I feel like Daphne is really smart but everyone is like she’s so stupid. Like in one of the old episodes she saves them by literally using her hair like how is she portrayed as stupid
She's never been portrayed as stupid. Just "the pretty one", at least for a while.
I love Daphne in What's New Scooby Doo because she's really resourceful, and multiple times she saves the day by jerry-rigging some insane contraption out of the stuff in her handbag
Yeah, she was usually pretty self-sufficient in the original.
Like yeah that's just like, super like weird like yeah, like strange.
@@visassess8607 you're not funny
and they just made Velma and you 100% called that shit almost 2 years ago
when Drew was naming all the Scooby-Doo remakes and crossovers in the beginning, i was surprised he didn't mention the Supernatural crossover. it was a such a fever dream but it's honestly probably my favourite Supernatural episode ever lmfao
I'm surprised he just skipped over The New Scooby Doo Movies. They crossed over with the Addams family, Batman & Robin, and the Harlem Globetrotters just to name a few. It also was a sequel series to the original cartoon
I think recently scooby doo met courage the cowardly dog too
you didn't end this video by dancing
He didn't end the video at all
It’s illegal for Danny not to dance after a video
It’s not a children’s show 😏
dang danny didnt dancey
but drew would-

I remember watching "a pup named Scooby-Doo" when I was little and loved it. It was probably my favorite out of all the scooby doo shows
That show was fantastic!
"they will milk this series to till after we are dead"... he was right...
They did a legit Supernatural/Scooby-Doo crossover and it was actually really good. It's one of the top rated episodes (9.6 on IMDb).
It was indeed very good. I love how they incorporated Supernatural being a show with lots of deaths and dangerous ghosts without ruining the innocence of Scooby Doo characters.
loved that episode, favourite episode of the whole show imo
i might actually have to go watch that haha, i haven’t watched supernatural in a hot minute
i agree it was a really good episode, ironically I was thinking drew forgot it the whole time, but i was glad to find a comment mentioning it
They did?! That’s so cool.
Arnold coming back was the craziest plot twist we could've ever expected
M Night Shamalan marathon next year?
He was spongebob’s human form all alone
SPOILER ALERT! DANGIT! Hahahaha
Bro use spoilers tags gosh dangit
ok
Imagine a world where the negative things Drew talks about in this video were the worst things ever done to Scooby Doo characters.
I still find it crazy that the guy who played Fred also voiced Kanan in Star Wars rebels
The fact that there's no mention of the BEST Scooby Doo movie: Scooby Doo and the witch's ghost!! The one where we met the hex girls. They were the BLUEPRINT for alt kids in the 21st century

"Something tells me Shaggy and Velma aren't getting into the same school" why did that line take me out
The reason the OG live action movies are still so good (for the most part lol) is because they’re paying homage and basically writing a love letter to the cartoon. They respected it and made sure to keep what was so charming and lovable about the original show.
lol Drew predicted Velma on HBO Max...
I'm kinda disappointed Drew didn't mention the Supernatural/Scooby-Doo crossover episode where the kids have a full-on existencial crisis cause ghosts are real.
I was scrolling down to find a comment that mentions that episode. This is the internet right? Why isn't there immediatly a Supernatural reference?
@@glasfedernsprung exactly what i thought! Couldn't find anyone mentioning it so i went for it myself :D
And you can totally watch it out of context too! Wasted opportunity 😭

Ok but let’s be honest the zombie special and the hex girls were the highlight of scooby doo. And another thing the hex girls songs really fuckin slaps
Hell yeah, the Hex Girls were awesome!

@@sophiedowney1077 people who like the hex girls are very respectable. And yeah I am saying that because it applies to me and I like to make myself good. Naw but seriously good shit. That’s rare.

16:00 I was in such a haze watching this video and hearing one of my favourite songs made me snap out of it real quick that’s so cool
The reason Scooby thinks a human is attractive is the same reason he can talk and people can understand him. It's also the reason they must quench his hunger by feeding him nonstop. Because he is a malevolent spirit trapped inside a dog. All their mystery seeking and ghost chasing led them into something dark and inexplicable... Now it's too late and they must live with the consequences.
NewbCh8surr, you’re the worlds leading researcher into the scooby doo chronicles. We’re gonna need to form our own mystery solving squad to get on this. You’re obviously the equivalent of Velma, I’ll substitute Scooby.
I’ll be Shaggy!
thanks for sharing! dont do it again
That makes me for some reason really want to see an anime adaption of Scooby-Doo. With literally everything that entails. Darker themes, adult themes all the fun stuff.
For some reason I feel like I’ve heard this before. If it isn’t cannon, it should be.
according to mystery incorporated, scooby can talk because he is the descendant of an interdimentional being.
I read this in the Bee Movie narrator’s voice
I can accept that, seems reasonable to me
And Matpat made a theory about Scooby too
